Der Chef ist nie erreichbar . Auf Nachfrage zwecks Hochzeitslocation wurden wir ewig hingehalten ! Er Brauch scheinbar das Geld nicht und es kamen am Ende blöde Ausreden weil er sich nicht kümmern wollte . Sehr professionell auf jeden Fall . Werd ich nie wieder hingehen !

Ich war heute das erste mal hier. Habe ein Jägerschnitzel mit Pommes gegessen. War mega gut. Ich habe noch nie so knackige und leckere Pommes gehabt. Auch das Schnitzel mit der Soße war mega gut. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Das Schnitzel war echt Top. Wir wurden leider nur die ersten 15 min dort nicht bedient, obwohl nur 4 andere Gäste da waren. Das schmälert aber nicht das gute Essen

Wir haben heute hier köstlich gegessen und getrunken. Der Service war sehr freundlich und schnell. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Leckeres Essen und freundliche Bedienung 😋

War heute das letzte mal dort, Service absolut nicht zumutbar, wenig los und lange Wartezeiten. Nach Wasser für unseren Hund wurde nicht gefragt, obwohl es sehr heiß war, Aschenbecher gibt es wahrscheinlich auch nicht, Blätter überall, Tische nicht sehr einladend. Keine Nachfrage ob wir noch was trinken möchten bzw. Nachspeise haben möchten. Mehrmals die Bedienung aufgefordert zum Bezahlen. Für 2 Getränke und 2 Essen, 2 Stunden vergeudet.

Als gebürtige Germersheimerin, war ich heute mit meinen Mann, dass erste Mal dort. Was soll ich sagen….. es ist sehr schön und das Essen schmeckt super lecker. Kann man nur bestens empfehlen. Preis Leistung ist top. Macht weiter so…. Und es wird nicht das erste und letzte Mal gewesen sein, dass wir dort essen waren.😅 Wir kommen wieder und werden es weiter empfehlen.

Wir sind durch irgendeinen Beitrag den ich auf Instagram gesehen habe hier gelandet. Eine interessante Location in direkter Nähe zur Festung. Parkmöglichkeiten sind da, jedoch nur in begrenzter Zahl da eine Baustelle die Zufahrt etwas blockiert. Es wirkt wie ein Gewölbekeller, jedoch ist es natürlich kein Keller. Die Einrichtung wirkt aufgeräumt und clean. Die Bedienung, ein junger Mann, war sehr höflich und freundlich. Wir wurden auf die Tagesessen aufmerksam gemacht. Es gab nur eine "kleine" Karte, aber die war völlig ausreichend, typische Pfälzer Speisen, verschiedene Schnitzel.... Die Auswahl ist in Ordnung. Wir hatten 2 verschiedene Schnitzel mit Pommes und die waren einfach lecker. Schön kross gebacken, die Pommes genau richtig, lediglich Soße haben wir nachbestellt, die war für uns etwas knapp bemessen. Die Portion war echt reichlich, die Vorsuppe hätte man nicht unbedingt gebraucht. Es ist eine schöne Location auch für Events, sehr zu empfehlen. Wir kommen wieder. 👍

Ich wusste schon seit Jahren, dass sich hier in diesem Festungsgebäude eine Gastronomie versteckt. Leider habe ich es erst zum heutigen Tage geschafft, mir dies genauer anzusehen. Ich bin vom Ambiente der Räumlichkeiten sehr angetan. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Das Schnitzel welches ich bestellt hatte, wurde hörbar mit dem Plattiereisen bearbeitet und war auch geschmacklich sehr gut. Auch der Salat vorweg konnte überzeugen. Kurz: Gerne wieder!

Durchaus gut. Waren auf ein Weihnachtsessen mit ein paar Freunden dort. Wegen Personalmangels wurde diesen Abend nur eine kleine Karte angeboten. Es war aber für jeden was dabei und das durchaus gut. Der Salatteller mit oder ohne Schnitzelstreifen wohl besonders gut. Schnitzel, Pfälzer Teller oder einfach eine gute Currywurst sind vollkommen okay Mehr braucht man nicht.

Wir waren durch den Schlemmerblock auf das Wanderheim aufmerksam geworden, und wir kommen bestimmt wieder, auch ohne Schlemmerblock

Trotz Termin und Termin Bestätigung standen wir am Geburtstag vor verschlossenen Türen. Man hätte ja absagen können.

Schlechte Luft essen nicht im Preis Leistung Verhältnis

Wir waren bereits ein paar Mal dort essen, das Ambiente ist super schön, einfach nur zum wohlfühlen. Das Essen ist sehr gut und vor allem frisch zubereitet, das schmeckt man. Der Service ist tadellos, freundlich und aufmerksam ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Wir werden öfter kommen, da wirklich alles passt ❤️

Wir waren zu viert dort. Dreimal Rumpsteak und einmal Schweizer Pfännchen. Alles sehr schmackhaft und schön angerichtet. Zum Nachtisch gab es Schokoküchlein mit Vanilleeis mega lecker. Preis/Leistung hat gestimmt. Das Servicepersonal war ausgesprochen freundlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Essen war gut! Vielleicht können Sie das vegetarische Angebot um das ein oder andere Gericht noch erweitern. Akustik etwas schwierig wenn viele Leute da sind, dennoch zu empfehlen!

A cozy restaurant; the photos are accurate. The food is good, but there's room for improvement. The staff is friendly and attentive. Anyone who wants to can enjoy Palatinate cuisine here. Overall, the hiking lodge is a great place to stay.

I had a Jägerschnitzel (hunter's schnitzel). It tasted quite good. However, I found the schnitzel to be quite thin. The menu offers a good selection. What I didn't like were the prices for Palatinate specialties. You can get them at the Rietburg, for example, for a good €2 cheaper, with at least the same portion size and very good food. Plus, with a magnificent view of the Rhine plain from 550 meters above sea level. But I've also had everything cheaper and very good in Landau and the surrounding area. I also think the Palatinate sausage salad is €2 too expensive. I saw the Palatinate Wanderheim plate and the sausage salad at the next table. Therefore, I can only give the price-performance ratio an OK rating. The staff was friendly and attentive.

A quaint and cozy restaurant that combines traditional decor with modern elements without clashing styles. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We had rump steak, one with onions and one with peppercorn sauce. The steak was very tasty and of good quality, the fries were fresh and hot, and the salad was homemade and crisp. The food was excellent and the prices were reasonable; the young man who served us was also very friendly. We even got a table at short notice without any problems, probably because of the fortress festival, so it wasn't too busy. We'll definitely be back.

We sat outside. The menu offers a wide selection of dishes. The food took a while to arrive, but the taste was very good. The salad was fresh, with plenty of dressing. The baguette served with it was fresh and crispy. The plates were also beautifully presented. There's also a small children's menu.

We visited the Germersheim Hiking Lodge for the first time today, having been drawn to it through the Schlemmerblock (a German restaurant) – and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent! The schnitzel with gravy, in particular, was truly delicious and plentiful. Our children loved it too. There's a small play area where they could keep themselves busy, and they also really enjoyed the schnitzel. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and family-friendly. We'll definitely be back!

We ate here with our family on Easter Saturday. My father is in a wheelchair. This made the driveway a challenge, but once it was mastered, the guest room could be reached without any problems. The service was extremely friendly and warm. The food was extremely good. From salads to spinach dumplings, schnitzel, goulash and cheese spaetzle. Everything was delicious and everyone was happy. The homemade iced tea is also highly recommended. We'd love to come back.

We were in the hiking home with our regulars' table group. Due to sick staff there was only a small menu. Very attentive: the tenant informed us about this in advance. Each of us found something tasty, and the service was also very friendly and attentive. The only small point of criticism: it was a bit cool, but that is also due to the high ceilings, which creates the special ambience. We will definitely come back

We are thrilled! We came across the hiking home by chance today because the restaurant we actually wanted to go to was closed. The boss was very friendly on the phone and very kindly let us use the gourmet block for the buffet. The wine cellar ambience is great, looks very upscale and cozy. The buffet with salad (cucumber, radish, carrot), leek cream soup, roast, gravy, chicken slices, butter spaetzle, vegetable rice and mouse au chocolat was really really good. Everything is home made, fresh, warm and very tasty. The service was friendly, quick and attentive and the toilets are new/modern and clean - really, nothing to complain about! You have to walk up a small hill to get to the restaurant, but even the unathletic can do it in two minutes. There is free parking at the bottom of the hill. The normal menu is easy to read in terms of both the dishes and the prices; it sounds like delicious Palatinate food with a good price-performance ratio. We would come back at any time and can only recommend a visit. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures of the food because we were too quick to get started. Thank you again for the great service and the delicious food, you felt really looked after and welcome! As a little idea: it would be cool to find the menu online with prices.

We spontaneously went out to eat with Schlemmerblock at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Great service, food, atmosphere etc. We weren't here for the last time. We can only recommend it 100%!

The restaurant was in close proximity to my hotel. Based on the reviews it was clear - there is regional cuisine here (and since I'm here, it should be regional cuisine). So I decided spontaneously - I'll go there. And it was the right decision. Super tasty and really nice staff. My special request wasn't a problem either. Definitely recommended. I'd love to come back when I'm here again.

Came on out first night because it was close to our hotel. Came back again because the food is really good! Soup, Schnitzel, bratwurst, Goulash, all excellent. Highly recommend this place if you're in Germersheim. Only really good German food we could find in town.

After a long time we ate here again. Now that the new tenant has taken over the hiking home, we will definitely eat here more often. The food is freshly prepared and you can clearly taste it. Very tasty and super juicy. The service is also very praiseworthy. The tenant makes every effort to ensure that all guests have a pleasant stay here and that everyone feels comfortable. Date of visit January 2025 Food: Very good cuisine, homemade and no frozen food. Staff: Very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Ambiance: It is not a typical hikers' home, but a beautifully decorated restaurant. Conclusion: always happy, there are only a few restaurants like this left.

We had dinner with two children, the service was first class and very nice. We were able to redeem the Schlemmerblock (2025) 4 for 2 easily and without any problems. The children had the Palatinate goulash pot with spaetzle and salad and we each had different schnitzel. Quantity and quality as well as price-performance are great. Thank you.

There are Palatinate specialties as well as German cuisine. Since salad is included in the price of most dishes, we think the price-performance ratio is also good. Food was delicious and beautifully prepared. By the way, we would describe it as a restaurant rather than a clubhouse. The vaulted room offers a great ambience. Service was attentive and nice. Although we don't live close to Germersheim, we will come back and recommend it.

We went for dinner with 9 people on Boxing Day as the Christmas card was valid. We all agree... Rarely have we eaten so badly. 2 people ate the salmon. It was still partially frozen inside. The vegetables were peas and carrots from a jar without any spices. Two people ate the spinach dumplings and they were swimming in fat. 3 people had the duck and it was still bloody inside. The young pork steak was tough. And the hot chocolate was ice cold. The food seemed very carelessly prepared to us. Unfortunately we won't be eating there anymore

We ate here for the first time after the reopening, we had two perfect dishes, a lot of handwork and homemade sauces. You can still hear the Schnitzel Hammer here. A great place for young and old, families and couples, and also weddings, birthdays or company parties. It's worth stopping by, you can always find a parking space here. There is still good, solid German cuisine here.

We wanted to go out to dinner with Schlemmerblock. The waitress said that wasn't possible because the tenant had changed. It would also be noted on the internet that Schlemmerblock is not accepted. Not true, however. The website still advertises it. Unfortunately the journey there was in vain.

We held my wife's birthday party here for about 20 people. The owner prepared a buffet that is second to none. Even though the owner was already on vacation, he prepared this. There were several choices, no matter what you chose, everything was great. Afterwards there was coffee and the owner allowed us to stay a little longer. I can really recommend this restaurant

The food was very good. The portions are large. The ambience is beautiful, inviting and well-kept. The staff was attentive and courteous. Even the little guests have been thought of, toys are available. From young to old, everyone was happy and full. We will definitely come again.

Went to the hiking home for the first time yesterday on a recommendation. Everything was very tasty, service was great. The waiting time of 1 hour for food was shortened with snacks on the house. Very nice operation and great service. Food was great, steak on point and schnitzel and salad very good. We would love to come back👍👍👍👍👍

On one of the hottest days of the year so far, we and our choir excursionists took a seat in the shade of the wonderful old trees outside the hiking home. We received a warm welcome, the service team responded to our requests in a friendly manner and provided us with care quickly and without long waiting times. The freshly prepared food we ordered in advance tasted excellent. We say THANK YOU for a completely successful stay.
