We held my wife's birthday party here for about 20 people. The owner prepared a buffet that is second to none. Even though the owner was already on vacation, he prepared this. There were several choices, no matter what you chose, everything was great. Afterwards there was coffee and the owner allowed us to stay a little longer. I can really recommend this restaurant

Went to the hiking home for the first time yesterday on a recommendation. Everything was very tasty, service was great. The waiting time of 1 hour for food was shortened with snacks on the house. Very nice operation and great service. Food was great, steak on point and schnitzel and salad very good. We would love to come back👍👍👍👍👍

Visited this beautiful, shady restaurant on July 21, 2024. Very nice service. We were in the mood for Schnitzek again. It also came in a nice portion with two pork schnitzels each. One of them seemed to me to have a different taste and appearance than the one with a clear “pork taste”. I asked the cook whether he had used two different types of meat because one didn't look the same to me and the cut structure seemed like "pressed meat." Answer: "No, everything is the same." Result, I didn't feel well later I had diarrhea until lunchtime on Monday. In any case, the schnitzel, which tasted different, wasn't okay.

On one of the hottest days of the year so far, we and our choir excursionists took a seat in the shade of the wonderful old trees outside the hiking home. We received a warm welcome, the service team responded to our requests in a friendly manner and provided us with care quickly and without long waiting times. The freshly prepared food we ordered in advance tasted excellent. We say THANK YOU for a completely successful stay.

We recently had dinner at the Germersheimer Wanderheim. The waiting time was short and the service was courteous and very friendly. We ordered a rump steak, a schnitzel and a gratinated sheep's cheese, which were all very tasty and very good. Variations and the exchange of supplements, for example, were no problem and were gladly accepted, even if something got mixed up during the implementation, which can happen from time to time. Nevertheless, I don't give it 5 points because (and this is a personal opinion) the prices for a club restaurant were quite high. It felt like €2-3 for the main courses. Will this stop me from coming back? I don't think so, as it was tasty, but it should be mentioned in a review.

The two of us had dinner here. The dishes were freshly prepared and came to the table at the same time. The staff was super friendly and very attentive. A fair price and unexpectedly good quality. The hiking home is a bit hidden, but it's worth looking for. When we arrived there was no free space outside, the tenant offered to put us at an additional table without being asked, great. A gentle breeze over Germersheim, shady, perfect. If you're on the B9, take a turn🙂

We were in Germersheim for two days and visited the Wanderheim restaurant. We were 3 people for dinner. Everything we ate there tasted delicious. The staff very attentive and friendly. A nice outdoor ambience. We were there on the second evening too. The restaurant is highly recommended. If we come back there from Tyrol, we will definitely eat there again.

We ate there spontaneously and haven't had such good schnitzel in a long time! The salad was also outstanding! Live about an hour away, but will definitely come back. The new tenant is extremely accommodating and the atmosphere was also very nice and inviting I can only recommend

We were at the hiking home in Essen on July 6, 2024 with four people. Price performance ratio is good. The soup as a starter was very tasty and there was a lot of it. For the main course we all ate schnitzel with different sauces and side dishes, which was also delicious and plentiful. The side salad was also beautifully prepared. So you don't go home hungry. Our conclusion 👍 we will come back.

We (24 people from the Palatinate Forest from beautiful Meisenheim) really enjoyed the hospitality of the innkeepers and the products from the kitchen on two evenings. The service was perfect, nothing impossible - not possible - don't give! One can only wish the tenants of the hiking home success, which they deserve with their performance. We will have fond memories of the two evenings in the hiking house, so we would be happy to come back

We were there because it's in the Schlemmerblock. However, there has been a change of ownership and unfortunately you can no longer use the Schlemmerblock. You can sit nicely on the terrace. There are shady and sunny places. The food is very nicely prepared and the main courses cost between 15 and 25 euros.

Schlemmerblock rejected, OK this can happen if the tenant changes. When I sliced ​​turkey there was more canned fruit in the bowl than. Turkey and salad were missing. The second meal was a rump steak. Nobody has ever given me such a small steak. Maximum 120g. And that for 28 euros. In the end I still had a shandy on the bill that the boss had forgotten to delete after the last guest. We won't go there anymore.

The best rump steaks I've ever eaten, but everything else looked delicious too. The service staff are very nice and accommodating and the boss (also a chef) comes to the guests and asks how the food was. So all in all highly recommended 😍

We came across this restaurant because of the Schlemmerblock and found out that a new owner has been running this restaurant since March and doesn't want to accept Schlemmerblocks (Very annoying, I think we could at least take over the concept by the end of the year). The waitresses were nice, but we waited 1.5 hours for the food and when it arrived, only 2 of 5 plates were ready and the rest had to wait a while (food was ok). I think it is important in a restaurant that everyone at a table gets their food at the same time (I ended up having to eat my food alone because everyone else had already received their meal much earlier). Due to the long waiting times, we received accommodating white schnapps and coffee as compensation, which only marginally improved the situation. Further Disadvantage: there is no changing facility for babies

The atmosphere is nice and cozy, you have the feeling of sitting in an old castle. Whether for a family dinner, an evening with friends or as a couple, the food is delicious, I ate the Jägerschnitzel, the sauce is homemade with fresh mushrooms, the fries were perfectly golden brown and the cheese spaetzle were also among the best I've ever eaten have. I'm looking forward to trying more Palatinate specialties from the menu, including the small but fine selection of desserts.

A nice restaurant that actually invites you to linger. Nice atmosphere, friendly service who really care about their guests. Unfortunately, the food is more like canteen food. At least the Jägerschnitzel and the Paprikacremeschnitzel. The portions are large, but the schnitzels look like they came from a supermarket freezer. The sauce is similar to a packet sauce. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here. It's better to have slightly smaller portions and invest a little more in the quality of the food.

So lecker 🤩 Das Essen hat mich so glücklich gemacht...❤ Ich habe selten so dermaßen gut gegessen!!! Und der Koch (und gleichzeitig Besitzer) hat uns noch einen Verdauungsschnaps spendiert! 👍👍👍 Auch die Location im historischen Gebäude war urig schön! 5 Sterne sind zu wenig... Angemessen wären 10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! Ein Muss, wenn man in Germersheim ist!!!

Waren heute nach einem Besuch des Stadtfestes zum Essen.Es war gemütlich und vorallem schattig unter den Bäumen.Nach einem Blick auf der Speisekarte waren die Essen nur alle ca 3 Euro teurer als auf der hängenden Straßenkarte.Nach der Frage bei der Servicekraft sagte nan uns das würde nicht stimmen, der Chef hätte die Karte unten ausgewechselt Es seien verschiedene Preise der verschieden Fleischsorten.Aber für mich gibt es nur ein Rumpsteak vom Rind und nicht vom Kalb wie die Servicekraft behauptete.Egal zu guter Letzt bekam ich ein gutes Rumpsteak mit Zwiebeln und Pilzen ohne Beilage mit Salat, so hatte ich es bestellt! Es war wirklich sehr gut.Aber der Preis war 3 Euro teurer sls die Straßenspeisekarte und noch ein Euro teurer wegen den Pilzen obwohl ich keine Pommes hatte.Der WKD hätte das so bestimmt nicht durchgehen lassen und ein wenig Diplomatie bei einer Servicefachkraft hätte ich schon erwartet. Alles in alles war es aber sehr gut und die Bedienung freundlich.Man kann ja froh sein dass es in der heutigen Zeit noch Servicekräfte gibt.

Etwas versteckt befindet sich dieses Lokal in einem alten Festungsgebäude. Mit Außensitzplätzen unter alten Bäumen, innen sehenswert. Der Koch und das Personal sind ausgesprochen nett, dass Essen sehr schmackhaft, für jeden etwas dabei, frisch gezapftes Bier, lecker Wein und dazu sehr moderate Preise! Also unbedingt dort mal einkehren!

Und das zu einem moderaten Preis (incl Beilagen - Pommes und ein toller Salat). Schöne Räumlichkeiten und eine sehr nette Bedienung. Ich kann das besten Gewissens gerne weiterempfehlen!!

Wir waren bereits mehrmals in dieser Gaststätte/Wanderheim. Es ist ein gemütliches Lokal an der Festungsmauer in Germersheim. Das Lokal selbst ist das Wanderheim des Pfälzerwaldvereins Germersheim und wird von einem Gastronom mit sehr guter Küchenerfahrung seit wenigen Jahren geleitet. Die Gerichte waren jedes Mal perfekt. Die Bedienungen waren aufmerksam, sehr freundlich ohne aufdringlich zu sein.

Pfälzer Gastronomie auf einen hohen Niveau. Wir haben das tolle Restaurant einem Zufall zu verdanken. Nach einem Tag auf der Schießanlage in Philippsburg sind wir ausgehungert auf das Restaurant Wanderheim in Germersheim gestossen. Sehr schöner Biergarten und eine schöne Atmosphäre Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich gestaltet und bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas . Die Speisen sind reichhaltig und schmackhaft. Service und Küche arbeiten harmonisch zusammen und sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir waren vom Ambiente und der Qualität der Speisen begeistert. Sauberkeit steht an erster Stelle. Zu der sehr guten Qualität kommt noch ein super Preisleistungsverhältnis. In dem Restaurant stimmt alles bis auf das I-Tüpfelchen Wir freun uns auf den nächsten Besuch .
