A truly wonderful restaurant in a unique location. It's a beautiful route up the mountain among the vineyards. The food is simply AMAZING, prepared on a real grill. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you're in the area, definitely go.

We stopped there with six other people after a bike ride. We received a very friendly welcome and the atmosphere is simply wonderful. All the staff were very friendly and approachable, and our special requests for our food were fulfilled. The food was delicious and our waitress was always there for us. The journey is the destination, and if you're in the area, a detour is definitely worth it. All we can say to the team is, keep up the good work; you don't find service like this very often these days. 👍🤗

Getting there from Graach-Schäferei is a bit tricky. From Bernkastel, it's no problem. Very good service. Excellent food cooked over a beechwood fire. Prices are absolutely reasonable. You feel at home here and the food is excellent! Keep it up! Reservations recommended.

The young team is super friendly, fast, and highly motivated—that's what service should be! The Balkan delicacies were very impressive, especially thanks to the rotisserie grill over an open fire. The Waldschenke is beautifully situated on the edge of the forest, high above the rooftops of Bernkastel-Kues. The courtyard has a very cozy atmosphere. We'd be happy to come back.

It was quite an undertaking to get there by bike from Zeltingen... a wrong turn and some rather steep roads... But the food, the friendliness, and the atmosphere made up for everything. Tip: the local wine is also great 😋

One of the most delicious grilled dishes prepared on charcoal and a perfect atmosphere with a personal approach to the customer! This is how you should work, with motivation and a desire to satisfy all desires! I think it will survive and become a role model!

Reaching the place on foot or by bike is already exhausting. Being told you can't get in because they expect a private party is awful. A notice about this should be included on the website!

We had a wonderful, sheltered spot with a beautiful view. After we ordered our food, the staff member told us to take another seat because a reservation had been made for the table (by friends of the manager). Since we couldn't get a comparable seat, we canceled the meal and left. On the way out, I told the manager that this wasn't okay with us. He simply said that it had all been a misunderstanding and that the waitress had misunderstood and acted incorrectly. Somehow, I don't believe that and had the feeling that he was hiding behind his staff.

A lovely place overlooking the wineyards of the Mosel river. Well worth a hike, bike tour or drive for evening dinner. Balkan-inspired BBQ made a nice change to the more traditional German food in the village. Recommended!

We arrived on a sunny Sunday evening around 6:30 and were able to choose a table right away. The atmosphere here was like sitting in a forest hut from the past. The smell of meat and vegetables that were roasted over an open fire greeted you! Delicious! Add to that the view over the Mosel and the picture is complete! We ordered a grillteller with bratkartoffelen for 2 people, more than enough for one person to eat! It really had a lot of flavor! We recommend eating here!

The Waldschenke was a stopover on our hike from Bernkastel-Kues to Traben-Tr arbach. The restaurant is located at the top of the vineyard, about a 30-minute walk away. Great ambience, excellent food and drinks, very nice owner. A Croatian family. We'd love to come back!

Eenmaal aangekomen, word je verwelkomd op een sfeervol buitenterras met authentieke houten banken en tafels. Je zit letterlijk tussen de wijnranken. De sfeer is los, gezellig en puur. Het hoogtepunt? De open grill! Terwijl je zit te genieten van het uitzicht, zie je hoe het vlees ter plaatse wordt bereid op de houtskool. De geur, de warmte, de kwaliteit van het vlees… alles klopt. Kortom: dit restaurant is een unieke ervaring die je niet mag missen als je in de regio bent. Wij komen hier zeker terug. Een absolute aanrader!

Restaurant Waldschenke is beautifully situated on the mountainside between Bernkastel and Graach an der Mosel, and is a reward in itself after a walk through the surrounding vineyards. As soon as you reach the tree line, this attractive wooden log cabin emerges with a sheltered terrace and a truly breathtaking view of the Moselle, the vineyards and the valley on the other side. The terrace immediately creates an atmosphere with an open fire, where sausages and skewers are grilled. The interior is warm and rustic, with lots of wood and panoramic windows that enhance the view even more. We enjoyed a perfectly chilled Bitburger on tap and a traditional flammkuchen—simple, but prepared just right. The service was friendly and genuinely welcoming, which adds to the relaxed feel of this place. The wine list also deserves a mention: clear and well stocked with wines from local producers from the surrounding villages and slopes. There is plenty of choice for lovers of Moselle wine. Waldschenke is definitely worth the climb and certainly invites you to visit us next time—for the wine, the cuisine, the warm atmosphere and that view. A wonderful place to rest during a hike through the Moselle region.

I really liked the restaurant with the fantastic view. The owner and the waitress were very nice and all of our special requests were fulfilled. The food is very well seasoned and tastes authentic. A tip for driving: If you think you're lost, keep driving. If you're thinking, "That can't be right," you've come to the right place. You will soon reach your destination!

The service is, as always, very good. The currywurst is simply delicious. You can taste that everything is regional.

It's a bit of a climb, but then you get something. The climb is worth every drop of sweat. Surrounded by beautiful vineyards, you walk upstairs and then relax on the lovely terrace of Waldschenke. Hospitality is clearly at the top here. We were allowed to taste various wines from the area before making our (various) choices. The host even offered to drop us off downstairs. We chose to enjoy the area again on foot. This place is an absolute must!

We enjoyed a great dinner in the rustic atmosphere. The chef's plate was professionally prepared and very tasty. The service was super nice and it was a completely successful evening. We will definitely come here again on our next stay in Bernkastel-Kues.

We stopped here twice after hiking during our short break over Easter. The drinks were great and the food was extremely tasty. The meat from the swivel grill = 10/10 :) the portions were optimal for the hunger after a hike. Only recommended!

A very great restaurant. Once you have mastered the effort of the climb, there is a great panorama. (Of course it was there before, but you can enjoy it with delicious wine from the vineyards) Additionally, a great team and very nice, dog-friendly operators. If we vacation in the area again we will definitely come back But the best thing is simply the food. The grill plate is simply melting away. And the homemade fries with the chicken fillet were also very tasty.

Had to wait a long time before someone came to take our order. After waiting an hour after order taking, people were served after us, but they kindly asked when we would get our food. After this the 'waiter' came to tell us that we had not waited long enough. Finally got our food. We asked for the bill. We wanted to pay by card. The waitress found that very annoying and showed this by rolling her eyes. Very unfriendly service. Never again!

Went on a mountain bike. We almost drove past, but braked in time. Didn't expect it to be open at all. We had a fresh salad and a gratinated cheese with a super tasty bread. Really delicious 😋. The house wine was also delicious. Great service that came from the heart. Thank you very much again for your hospitality.

Due to not enough people, the grill was not lit. I had the grilled vegetables and they were tasty but the portion was very small (and I am a small eater): half a pepper, 2 slices of onion and about 10 slices of zucchini. My husband had the falafel and it was great! The view is beautiful and it is nice to sit after a good walk.

We held our Christmas party here. The food was super tasty and the staff was really friendly. It was like having a meal with the family. Everything fit and was perfect.
