The food is very good, and the prices are perfectly reasonable. It's a very cozy little restaurant.

The food is very good, with two or three dishes covering all the usual tastes. This ensures freshness and quality. There's a large wine selection, considering you're on the Moselle. The restaurant is quite small and therefore cramped, but you can still find it cozy.

The restaurant is truly exceptional, the food is excellent, and the wine selection (the house wines are especially recommended!) is fantastic. Especially in the fall, if you want to sit inside, you'll need to make a reservation in advance. The terrace is also a pleasant place to sit (grab a table under the patio heaters and a quick blanket), where you can relax without the back strain, which can quickly become uncomfortable. I can recommend the potato casserole (a dream!), but please allow plenty of time; the casserole is made fresh and, depending on how busy it is, can take at least 30 minutes to be served.

We've eaten there twice now and were always very satisfied. My husband ordered the large cheese platter each time, which was amazing. I ordered the same thing once, and the other time the Cordon Bleu... very tasty. We highly recommend this restaurant. You do have to wait a bit longer for the food, but you'll understand why when it's in front of you. 😋

RECOMMENDATION!!! Everything here is prepared with great attention to detail and exceptionally good taste. Local, seasonal... Super delicious! The Mosel Spritz - outstanding. And the schnitzel and trout were simply unbelievably delicious! Both were freshly prepared, and you could taste it. To the owners: Perhaps they should consider banning smoking on the terrace. Three cigars gave us a terrible headache during our meal. The staff was incredibly friendly! We were able to wait for a free table and were treated courteously.

As an introduction, I can only say that we felt very comfortable and had a delicious meal. And in a cozy atmosphere 😍👌👏 A great start, so to speak!💯😃 The staff and waitresses were very friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home right away 🥳👍 The service was quick and attentive. The food was delicious with generous portions and excellent value for money. Finally, I would like to once again praise our wait staff and the kitchen! 😃 Despite the high stress factor (the restaurant was full!) and the many people waiting for a table, everything went super quickly and everyone was friendly! The quality of a restaurant rises and falls with this. Even the best chef can't shine without good service. People here are very happy to tip generously! Keep it up, this is how you stand out in the service desert of Germany 😊🤗 Conclusion: TOP-FOOD!! TOP-FOOD SERVICE AND Friendliness! TOP-FOOD VALUE! TOP-FOOD ambiance and feel-good factor! We ate here twice during our vacation, and for good reason! The menu is fairly simple, but the food was fantastic. Gluten-free options were also excellent. The Cordon Bleu (not gluten-free) was delicious and well-filled. The schnitzel was excellent, and the potato casserole was superb, you could make your own, and it was gluten-free! Delicious. We ate here on a Wednesday evening. The hostess was grumpy, but the rest of the staff was friendly. The food was delicious and there was a choice of a large or small schnitzel. Dogs are welcome on the patio.

Today was our second attempt to get a table outside, and this time we were lucky. Unfortunately, you can't reserve tables outside, so it's difficult to get one. But I think it might be worth waiting a few minutes or trying again another day. The food is definitely worth it. Very tasty, well-seasoned, and not overpriced for the quality.

Around 5 p.m., you can barely get a seat. Reservations are recommended for later hours. You'll be rewarded with excellent cuisine. We had a salad plate with fresh fried chanterelles, simply delicious and very filling. While we waited, bread with herb cream was served, which went perfectly with the Riesling.

The meal was a poem! We had a dish from the chanterelle mushroom menu, along with a salad and a delicious white wine...it was a feast for the palate, everything freshly prepared with blossoms and sunflower seeds on the salad 😋😋

Great restaurant, excellent value for money. We went there for dinner. It was full outside but there was still room inside (more pleasant in the 30+ degree heat). Friendly service, with really great explanations of the wines on offer. As for the food, the rump steak was still wonderfully medium even after 15 minutes and not dry. Top-notch meat, that's all I can say. The sauce is served separately in a bowl, which is great, so you can measure it out just how you like it. We also had potato gratin, which was also delicious (and there was an incredible amount). All in all, a wonderful end to the day.

We liked the restaurant. The terrace was full, and we asked if we could wait a moment. It was possible. There were other guests sitting in front of us, but after a 20-minute wait, we were able to sit down. We both had the schnitzel with mushroom sauce, and it was delicious. We wanted to have a drink on the terrace with our dog. The waiter looked at our dog as if it were old trash from the first second. The menu was thrown on the table and a dismissive gesture was made when our dog sat on his lap for a moment. We did not feel welcome at all, so we left without having consumed anything else. Later someone else from our group came back to ask how and what the intention was. Everything was denied, according to the waiter we had never been there. Well... We will never come back. The first restaurant in Germany where we were treated so badly and disapprovingly with our dog.

We (4 people) had not made a reservation but were still allowed to sit at a reserved table for 1 1/2 hours. We all ate a main course and still had 1/2 hour for a dessert but according to the waitress there was no time for that. After us we saw one group after another without a reservation get a place?

Anyone who dares to stroll through Bernkastel's old town toward the fire station or further toward the waterfall will pass by the inviting terrace and cozy restaurant. The young Obst family runs the restaurant like a family, with friendly service. Excellent cuisine, seasonal dishes, and fresh produce. Truly delicious!

Restaurant Alt Bernkastel – A piece of Moselle tradition with potential. An authentic, German Genusserlenbis with friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. Our chosen dishes were: “Schorles” A hearty potato cake based on Grandma’s recipe. Made from grated, raw potatoes, leeks, bacon and egg. -Fine cuts with applesauce on a salad bouquet and “Winzersteak” pork neck steak marinated with wine -with fried mushrooms, onions and potato wedges. Both dishes were very tasty and highly recommended.
