Etwas altbacken. Die Bedienungen wirkten Überfordert und unaufmerksam. Meistens würde man herumgereicht wenn eine Bitte geäußert wurde, weil niemand so richtig Lust hatte, sich zu kümmern

Coole Location... allerdings leider nur noch ohne XXXXXL Angebot, was das Restaurant vorher groß gemacht hat... daher insgesamt ein Stern Abzug... Essen ansonsten top!

Sehr freundliches Personal. Das Essen schmeckt echt Gut. Die Große Portion könnte noch ein Upgrade bei fast 31€ vertragen. Ansonsten Top.

Grosse Portionen aber nicht Gourmet

Sehr schönes Restaurant mitten im Wald mit tollem Ambiente. Die Schnitzel mit verschiedenen Soßen waren super lecker, und das Essen insgesamt wirklich empfehlenswert. Nur schade, dass keine Kreditkarten akzeptiert werden. Wir waren inzwischen schon zum zweiten Mal hier essen und waren wieder zufrieden. Das Ambiente im Wald ist sehr angenehm, der Service freundlich und das Essen konstant gut. Besonders die Schnitzel mit den verschiedenen Soßen können wir weiterhin empfehlen.

Also, wir waren bei einer Konfirmationsfeier im Waldgeist. Sie hatten den Tisch super gedeckt, aber wir saßen alle am Tisch und warteten auf eine Bedienung. Dann kam nach einer gefühlten Stunde endlich jemand und nahm die Getränkebestellung auf. Wir waren alle sehr Durstig und die Gläser und Wasserflaschen waren ruck zuck leer, wieder kam keiner, auch die Essenbestellung dauerte eine Ewigkeit. Zwischen durch hat meine Tochter eine Getränkebestellung gemacht und ist an die Theken gegangen. Wir hatten das Gefühlt das der Bahnhof wieder zum Leben erweckt war und wir im Wartesaal saßen. Ich könnte noch mehr erzählen, aber da gehen wir nicht mehr hin.Das Essen war hervorragend, aber die Bedienungen unfähig, müssen noch viel lernen. Es ist halt schwer gutes Personal zu finden.

Der Service ist ziemlich langsam. Visa-Karten werden nicht akzeptiert. Es gibt keine Internetverbindung.

Leider nichtmehr das, was es früher mal war. Sauce hat leider nach Eimersauce geschmeckt 🤔 Service vom kräftigem Herren war leider wenig engagiert, Telefon wurde auch bei einem von 5 Anrufen nur angenommen...

Wir wollten am 1. Mai meinen Geburtstag im Waldgeist feiern. Wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert, waren pünktlich da. Der Kellner hat geschlagene 20 Minuten gebraucht, bis er unsere Getränkewünsche aufgenommen hat. Für die Essensbestellung würde er noch mal vorbeikommen. Als nach weiteren 10 Minuten weder die Getränke serviert waren noch wir Essen hatten bestellen können, sind wir wieder nach Hause gefahren. Ja, es war an diesem Tag recht voll, da zum ersten Mal bei gutem Wetter der Biergarten geöffnet hatte. Aber der gesamte Service wirkte wenig engagiert und wenig bemüht. Nie wieder!

Haben hier Pause gemacht und was getrunken. Der Biergarten war leider noch nicht geöffnet. Somit war draußen quasi Selbstbedienung, die Jungs hinterm Tresen waren aber nett und wir hatten schnell unsere Getränke.

Sehr gutes und ausreichendes essen. Parkplatz vorhanden. Reservierung kann nicht schaden (sicher ist sicher). Die Lage hat ein gewisses Flair (Wald, historische ehemalige Bahnstrecke etc)

Spareribs und Schnitzel schmecken immer super gut und die Schnitzelsoße ist traumhaft. Wir gehen jedes Jahr als Gruppe dort hin und haben immer einen mega Spaß. Von uns gibt es fünf volle Sterne ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Essen war leider nicht mehr so gut wie vor 5 Jahren Preislich auch Teuerer geworden

Ich war vor Jahren schon einmal da. 2016. Heute war es absolut nichts. Der Hammer 🔨 der Toiletten Besuch 😂 dachte ich es ist ein Scherz...steht doch tatsächlich...die Toilette soll selber gereinigt werden. Bodenlose Tatsache. Und es ist ein Ausflugslokal mit vielen älteren Menschen.

Der Spießbraten war sehr gut, insbesondere die Sauce. Der Dönerteller war gut. Der Lärmpegel ist doch sehr hoch, wenn alle Tische rundum besetzt sind. Das ist draußen anders.

Wie immer einfach SUPER. Unverändert gut.

Wir waren zu viert vor Ort und haben uns an die XXL-Gerichte sowie die passenden XXL-Getränke gewagt. Die Portionen waren wirklich beeindruckend und ihren Preis absolut wert. Neben der Größe hat uns auch die Qualität überzeugt. Alles war sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet. Wer großen Hunger mitbringt oder einfach etwas Besonderes ausprobieren möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Der Besuch hat sich definitiv gelohnt, und wir können das Lokal uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Der Ort und das Restaurant ist schön. Der Service ist meistens gestresst, aber relativ freundlich. Allerdings gibt es Service nur auf Anfragen, wodurch "auch" man sich ständig etwas unerwünscht fühlt. Das Essen ist ok und die Portionen groß genug um satt zu werden. Die Qualität der Speisen ist leider nicht unbedingt Priorität, aber wenn man Hunger hat ist das ok. Leider trotzdem und gerade auch wegen dieser Qualität und dem Service, ist es zu teuer. Man bezahlt anscheinend für die schöne Umgebung.

So sehr es mir auch leid tut, aber ich kann nicht mehr als einen Stern geben. Durch diverse Videos bei YouTube bin ich auch die Location aufmerksam geworden und wollte es selber ausprobieren. Um es kurz zu machen. Das Essen ist ok, aber nichts besonderes. Insgesamt aber eine sehr einfallslose Karte. Was mich wirklich schockiert hat, war der Service. Mir ist bewusst, wenn die Lokalität gut besucht ist, dann ist es stressig und es dauert etwas. Aber bitte kommuniziert es freundlich. Das gehört zum Service dazu. Nach dem wir die Essensbestellung aufgegeben haben und die Getränke bekamen, hat es mehr als 1 Stunde und 20 Minuten gedauert bis das Essen kam. Wir reden hier aber u.a. von Schnitzel und Pommes. In dieser Zeit keine Bedienung gesehen. Nicht mal für ein neues Getränk 😥 Jeder hat mal einen schlechten Tag, aber das war zuviel. Das negative Highlight war dann eine der Bedienung die im Vorraum stand und rauchte. Nichts gegen die Zigarette, aber wehe ein Gast würde da stehen und rauchen. Fazit: Essen war ok, Service begegnet einem nicht auf Augenhöhe

Nach einer Wandertour ganz nett zum Pause machen. War nun schon mehrfach hier. Das Essen empfinde ich als hochpreisig da ich es eher im oberen Mittelfeld für meinen Geschmack sehe. Personal meist freundlich.

Kurz nach 14 Uhr noch was zum futtern bekommen. Machen ja um 14:30Uhr Feierabend.

Wie fange ich am besten an. Also wir waren gestern Abend in einer größeren Gruppe im Waldgeist. Ich kenne das Restaurant seit einigen Jahren aber so einen schlechten Service wie gestern Abend habe ich selten erlebt. Angefangen vom Moment der Begrüßung am Eingang hatte ich / wir , das Gefühl unerwünscht zu sein. Ich kann es nur schwer beschreiben aber von der Körpersprache bis zur Kommunikation beim aufnehmen der Bestellung lief es echt schlecht mit unserer Servicekraft. Es fehlte Besteck am Tisch , Aufnahme der Bestellungen haben extrem lange gedauert. Die Bestellung wurde falsch aufgenommen , bei Nachfrage hatte ich das Gefühl unerwünscht zu sein. Wir hätten gern einen Schönen Abend bei leckerem Essen verbracht sind dann aber zeitnah nach der Hauptspeise gegangen. So etwas habe ich selten erlebt .. Ich glaube wir werden nicht wieder kommen. Schade eigentlich. Essen war wie immer Massig und sehr lecker . Aber Gutes essen bekommt man woanders auch !

Ich war vor einigen Jahren schon mal hier und war begeistert. Heute war ich scheinbar in einer komplett anderen Lokalität. Los ging es, dass die Karte am Tisch nicht mit der Karte online übereinstimmte. Auf der Homepage wurden xxl Burger angeboten, welche so nicht auf der Karte im Lokal standen. Daraufhin gab es bei der Bestellung wohl auch ein Missverständnis. Dies war aber sicherlich auch dem völlig lustlosen, gar schon genervt wirkenden Servicemitarbeiter mit zuzuschreiben. Bei der Bestellung war dieser mit seinen Gedanken scheinbar überall, nur nicht bei einer serviceorientierten Aufnahme einer Bestellung. Als Gast war es einem fast schon unangenehm, überhaupt was bestellen zu wollen. Der Service lief scheinbar garnicht rund. Gäste die nach uns das Lokal betraten bestellten vor uns. Nach der Getränkebestellung passierte lange Zeit erstmal gar nichts. Erst als wir eine junge Dame ansprachen, versicherte sie uns, dass sie jemandem Bescheid sagt, blickte dabei völlig alleine gelassen zu ihrem Kollegen, welchem aber scheinbar alles egal war. Aufgrund des Missverständnisses bezüglich der XXL Burger kam ein Essen erst, als alle anderen fast fertig waren. Insgesamt trat das Essen selbst leider aufgrund des mehr als miesen Services total in den Hintergrund. Es wurde nicht nachgefragt, ob noch weitere Getränke gewünscht werden, Besteck musste man sich selbst organisieren, da es am Tisch zwar ein Überangebot an Messern, aber weniger an Gabeln gab. Egal zu welchem Zweck die Servicekraft an unserem Tisch erschien, bevor man nur „Piep“ sagen konnte, war diese in flashmanier schon wieder verschwunden. Letztendlich hat der mehr als schlechte Service das Erlebnis dermaßen getrübt, dass das Essen selbst kaum noch Einfluss nehmen konnte. Eine junge Dame schien sehr bemüht, wirkte aber maßlos überfordert, von den Kollegen alleine gelassen und tat einem fast schon leid. Letztendlich kann man den Eindruck den der Service erweckte garnicht wirklich in Worte fassen. Einen Stern für den Service gibt es, weil wir halt was gebracht bekommen haben. Mehr aber auch nicht. Sehr schade.

Unser Mittagessen war enttäuschend. Das Essen war geschmacklos und die Qualität stand in keinem Verhältnis zum Preis.

Der Waldgeist ist eine tolle Adresse zum Essen gehen! Das Ambiente gefällt uns sehr gut und auch das Essen ist wirklich lecker. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich jedoch das Personal: Selbst wenn es richtig voll und stressig ist, bleiben alle freundlich, aufmerksam und herzlich. Man fühlt sich einfach gut aufgehoben. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Waren dort mit den Eltern schon öfters essen. Wir sind immer zufrieden und satt ;-) nach Hause gefahren.

Gut gemeinte Portion höfliches Personal

Der Service hing stark davon ab, wer gerade vorbeikam. Die junge Dame war sehr höflich und freundlich, der Mann distanziert, kurz angebunden und unfreundlich. Essen war prima!

Waren heute vor Ort zum Essen. Am Anfang wurden wir durch ein Missverständnis vergessen, aber Schwamm drüber. Die Bestellung kam ziemlich zügig, dass war es dann aber auch. Essen war lecker. Das Service-Personal ist hervorragend im Ignorieren, dafür würde ich 5 Sterne geben. Unser Aufenthalt war knapp 2h und wir wurden genau 1x bedient. Hätten gern noch etwas getrunken aber so macht man leider keinen Umsatz.

Das Essen war sehr lecker! Ich hatte für mehrere Personen reserviert und wir bekamen einen separaten Raum für uns. Die Bedienung war ganz gut. Als wir die Speisekarte angeschaut haben, haben wir gemerkt, wir uns bei etwas geirrt hatten. Wir wollten zum XXXXL Restaurant und diese Gerichte würden beim anderen Waldgeist angeboten. Das Essen war aber trotzdem Lecker. Leider muss ich einen Stern abziehen, weil wir vom Sitzen her nicht alle zusammen und nahe beinander sitzen konnte. Das aber nur kleines Gejammer. Ich empfehle es weiter! Probiert es aus, wir hatten eine schöne Erinnerung! Und das ist meine ehrliche Bewertung.

Großes Lokal mit gutem Angebot an Gerichten. Der Service ist meist gut, das Essen schmackhaft und die Getränke kommen in angemessener Zeit. Etwas störend ist die Lautstärke. Das Personal ist aufmerksam, schnell, ruft aber öft mal lautstark durch den Raum. Die Lüftung könnte besser sein, da die Kleidung auch nach Verlassen des Lokals stark nach Essen/Küche riecht. Trotzdem noch eine Empfehlung!

Es gibt große Portionen zu fairen Preisen. Allerdings ist der Waldgeist eher ein Durchsatzstarker Laden mit einfacher Qualität. Zu Stoßzeiten etwas längere Wartezeit.

Seit Jahren unveränderter super Service! Leckeres Essen und ein tolles gepflegtes Ambiente, mit fantastischem Personal. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Das war heute gewiss das letzte Mal hier gewesen zu sein. Der Service einfach nur grottenschlecht! Unfreundlich, respektlos, ignorant! Als die Getränkebestellung kam wurden die Deckel auf den Tisch geschmissen. Das Essen kam verhältnismäßig schnell, als unsere Getränke leer waren, wurden wir über eine halbe Stunde ignoriert, die leeren Teller und Gläser standen auf dem Tisch und wurden nicht abgeräumt, geschweige denn eine Nachbestellung der Getränke aufgenommen. Irgendwann sind wir aufgestanden, an die Kasse gegangen und haben bezahlt, damit wir noch woanders was trinken gehen konnten. Über hundert Euro dort gelassen und um eine Erfahrung reicher geworden.

I've rarely eaten so well, I'll definitely come back.

My fiancée and I went to eat here with my parents a week ago. Everyone was excited to finally be eating at Waldgeist again. It had been a few years since our last visit, but we quickly realized that we weren't really being acknowledged. We were shown to our table without any care, the menus were placed there without any enthusiasm, and there was no smile from the server—just "Here's your seat," and that was it. Furthermore, another server who took our drink orders wasn't very friendly either. Once we received our drinks, our food orders were taken, which included two different schnitzels and two goulashes, and that's when the problems started. The two goulashes and one schnitzel arrived at the same time, but we had to wait for one schnitzel, which shouldn't be possible—everything should have been brought out together. We politely asked if they had forgotten the other schnitzel (it happens), but the server simply replied with a "NO," nothing more. After about 10 minutes, when we finally received the other schnitzel, we were already somewhat disappointed by the waiter's explanation. My fiancée, who had to wait, was furious because we were almost finished eating; otherwise, it would have gotten cold if we had waited, and she would have had to eat alone. None of us thought that was right. After we had finished eating and drinking, it was time to pay. We called the waiter who had taken our order over again to pay. We signaled to him that we would like to pay now, but all we got in response was a nod. We waited in vain for him to come and collect our payment. Our glasses were already empty by then, so we wanted to leave soon. However, no one came. When we asked again, the waiter was at another table talking privately with the guests—I think they were his friends or regulars. There was no sign of him coming, nothing. This went on for what felt like 30 minutes. After this time, he finally came to collect our payment. It came to approximately €105.10, which was a good price in itself. However, what we all found unacceptable was that I didn't have even 10 cents left, only €2, which I gave to the employee. He pocketed it and left. We received no further feedback. This is completely unacceptable – simply pocketing the change without a thank you or anything else – just very poor manners. In conclusion, Waldgeist Eiserne Hand will never see us again, nor will any of our family. The way we were treated that day was simply appalling.

There is good food but also very tasty and a lot ☺️

I've eaten worse schnitzels, but the quality of the schnitzel, fries, and salad has declined. I had a mini schnitzel for a high price. The fries were soggy, and the salad was poorly prepared. It used to be better. It's a shame, because the atmosphere in the train station building, nestled in the forest, is actually very nice. I won't be coming back any time soon, as I know of better schnitzel restaurants.

Just 1.5 years ago, it was wonderful and highly recommended, but today, unfortunately, it's the exact opposite. Current status as of October 11, 2025... unfortunately, it's now a typical rip-off. The former "XXL" concept has since been abandoned, which isn't a bad thing, as it also attracts a slightly different, more sophisticated clientele. The portions are now normal-sized, but the prices have increased massively. Almost 20 euros for a standard Jägerschnitzel, which also tastes terrible... an absolute no-go... the food is now mass-produced, with a high proportion of convenience products. The sauces for the schnitzels are now clearly based on industrial products. The schnitzels themselves used to be prepared in pans with clarified butter, which you could see and taste. Large deep fryers have apparently found their way into the kitchen these days, and that's exactly what the schnitzels look like, not to mention the taste. However, the prices are outrageously overpriced. The handful of fries are hardly worth mentioning. The side salad was okay, but nothing more. The accompanying dressing tasted almost like nothing. Drinks... what can I say? First drink... a Spezi... aha... they don't mix it themselves anymore, they pour it from a tap. It had nothing to do with Spezi, and it was barely carbonated... disgusting. Syrup with water. Second drink (more of a test)... a passion fruit juice spritzer... what came to the table had nothing to do with spritzer. Tasted like the cheapest passion fruit syrup mixed with still water... absolutely terrible. Doesn't spritzer usually have at least a small head of foam, where you can sense a hint of carbonation? Here, everything was smooth. The waiters were also all rather unmotivated and slammed everything onto the table rather listlessly and without a friendly word. Furthermore, there were no napkins on the table. They were only brought upon direct request. The attentiveness and initiative were zero. Sorry, what do you want a tip for if you can't even meet the guest's minimum expectations? The ambiance in the old train station of the former Aartalbah is quite nice, and the setting in the middle of the forest is too, but that's not the only reason you go there. I didn't take any photos; it wasn't worth the effort. I didn't complain about the terrible food and the drinks, which didn't deserve the name, but simply decided that the delicious time at Waldgeist was over for me. There are several other restaurants in the surrounding area that don't rip off their guests as much and are of a much higher quality... and at significantly lower prices. What a shame, dear Waldgeist... the food and drinks are absolutely awful... the prices are now way too high... the service is listless and inattentive... that's it for us!!

A very nice restaurant in the middle of the forest with a great atmosphere. The schnitzels with various sauces were delicious, and the food overall was highly recommended. It's just a shame they don't accept credit cards.

We've eaten there several times, but today I personally won't be going back. The standard schnitzel was very small and looked like it had been pan-fried. The fries were a small handful and not at all tasty; they were completely dry. All in all, a disappointing warm meal. And not at all lovingly prepared; €20 is far too much for that. I was so disappointed that I unfortunately didn't take a photo.

The Waldgeist is certainly a gold mine for the owner: The wonderful location guarantees a constant stream of customers. This allows for the rip-offs typical of such day-trip restaurants. The former "XXL" concept has since been abandoned. The portions are still reasonably large, the food is mass-produced, undoubtedly with a high proportion of convenience products. In times when many consumers' taste buds are conditioned to this industrial flavor, some people find it "tasty," but I don't. The barbecue sauce for the spare ribs is clearly ready-made, and the mushy sauces for the schnitzel and meatloaf are certainly also based on industrial products. On the other hand, the prices are outrageously overpriced (almost twenty euros for a deep-fried schnitzel with fries and salad – even in Frankfurt, I know places where you can get much better value for less). The ambiance in the old station of the Aartalbahn (which I rode on as a child) is pleasant. The two times I was there, it wasn't very busy (though that's probably not the norm; I saw the place packed as I walked by). The service was friendly and attentive, but the wait for the industrial-style food to be prepared was quite long. Whether the beautiful ambiance on the Taunus ridge is worth the money is up to you – the food definitely isn't.

I'd love to move in there 😄 There are so many windows, and you're practically sitting "in the middle of the forest." All eight people enjoyed it and enjoyed the food. The prices are reasonable.

We discovered the restaurant through the Schlemmerblock magazine, and we'll definitely be back. The service was very friendly and casual. The food was absolutely delicious. It's a bit out of the way, but there's plenty of parking and it's a great location for a Sunday outing.

Yes, you should try it if you're in the area. It might be advisable to make a reservation, as it's always quite busy on weekends. The staff is very friendly and quick. Prices are perfectly reasonable. Always a great place.

Friendly staff, solid food, nothing special about the ambiance. The beer garden is very nice in the summer.

Unfortunately, the XL hamburger meal had very bad-tasting meat. I ended up eating with everyone else—and it was really delicious! Whether it was the schnitzel, the chicken, or the fries: simply delicious. But the hamburger wasn't for me at all. Sorry about that. 😔

Unfortunately, it has declined considerably. I used to enjoy the forest spirit, but now I choose something else.

I can recommend everyone to go there. The food is very good, the atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is super friendly, always ready to share a funny saying. The service is also very good. The staff ignored us for about 20 minutes, even though there were hardly any customers. They preferred to joke around at the counter. There was no sauce for the fitness salad, and the side salad wasn't served with the schnitzel. No apology from the staff, just annoyed faces. Service - 3 stars, food - 3 stars.

Simply top-notch all around! I was there today for the first time in ages and received a warm welcome, good service, and excellent food!

Because it was busy, we had to wait a bit for drinks and food. Everything was understandable. The service was friendly. The food was good and plentiful. It was also great for kids.

Located on the edge of the forest, this restaurant offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Advance reservations are required, and online reservations are also available. Plenty of parking and a rich menu. It's also ideal for a stroll.

A rustic restaurant with delicious food, but catastrophic service. We were here today with a large group and three children. We sat there for a while until someone from the server, rather unmotivated, took our drink order. The food and drinks arrived quite quickly. The food was delicious. However, the server never asked if we wanted more drinks or if everything was okay with the meal. We then sat there for almost an hour without drinking anything. After we called the server, we were able to order a second round of drinks. When we wanted to pay, we were asked to speak to another server, "the one with the wallet." Here, I'm used to the fact that servers tell the cashier to let them know and don't leave it to the customer. We had to ask the server twice if we wanted to take the leftovers to go – they then placed a roll of aluminum foil on the table and left it to wrap it up ourselves. We won't be coming back because of the poor service and therefore didn't leave a tip.

The food is okay, but the payment methods are a complete step backwards. It's 2025, and you can only pay with cash or debit card. It says so somewhere on the website, but you'll be surprised by it in the restaurant itself. Anyone without cash or a debit card will be left looking really stupid. Absolutely not up-to-date for a place like this."

Highly recommended. Reservations are recommended. We were lucky without a reservation, but a few guests had to leave because there was no room (the beer garden had to be partially relocated indoors due to the onset of rain). Very child-friendly!!! Generally very friendly and accommodating staff – genuine hosts. Delicious food and good value for money. We spontaneously visited for the first time for my wife's birthday, but certainly not for the last time! Overall: Highly recommended! Beautiful wooden huts for small groups in the beer garden.

A large restaurant with outdoor seating and parking. From the parking lot, you can take hikes into the nearby forest. Please make a reservation if you plan to visit. Best: online reservations.

We had a regular-sized Jägerschnitzel with mushroom sauce and fries. There were two of us and we didn't have a reservation. We were picked up at the entrance and brought to our tables. Our drinks (0.4l Coke Zero) arrived within the first 5-10 minutes. The Jägerschnitzel arrived in under 20 minutes, and we paid around €50. Good value for money, excellent service, and excellent taste. We'd be happy to come back. Tip: Schiersteiner Harbor is not far away and is a lovely place for a stroll.

As always, the food here is delicious, and the service is very attentive and friendly. The only drawback is the parking lot, which is a bit too small for the size of the restaurant.

Never again! What do guests eat at home when they describe this meal as great or delicious? And then there's the noise in the dining room when a few guests are there! Nobody who simply wants to go out for a delicious meal needs that!

After waiting forever for our food, two carelessly filled plates were shoved onto the table! There was no apology! We also can't understand why guests are praising this food so much! We had a hunter's cutlet with French fries and salad. And an onion cutlet with French fries and salad. What they're offering as a hunter's cutlet is pathetic! There were five small pieces of mushroom floating in my small jug of sauce! Also, the dining room is very loud when there are a few guests in it! No thanks!!!!

I didn't like the spare ribs as much, but my companion's meatloaf was better. We could only manage half the portion at most. The cheesecake for dessert was okay, but nothing more.

We made a reservation, there was parking in front of the door, and we were assigned a table. Service was fast, and the drinks and food arrived very quickly after ordering. Unfortunately, napkins were missing, which I then got from another table. My two orders of ketchup were not honored, but it was okay without ketchup. The salad tasted a bit bland. The schnitzel was OK, including the size, but the fries were a bit overseasoned. Otherwise, everything was good, and the restaurant was busy.

Today was definitely my last time here. Unfortunately, the service staff are completely overworked. The food wasn't good. The sausage salad had more onions than sausage, the fries were cold, and the fried potatoes were swimming in oil. Today was my third attempt, and unfortunately, the food got worse each time, but it was quite expensive.

The food is good, although sometimes there could be a few more side dishes. The staff is friendly and, given the size of the space, they're always busy. Respect for that! The beer garden boasts wonderful forest air.

Very nice beer garden, friendly staff. The food will be available next time. A standard schnitzel, a Jägerschnitzel, was okay, but it came from a deep fryer and at 18.90 without salad, it wasn't exactly cheap. Therefore, a 4+ for the price.

We ended up at Waldgeist by chance. There's a sign at the entrance asking you to please wait and be shown to your table. Of course, that only makes sense if the staff keep an eye on the entrance area and don't constantly walk past it, so new guests aren't seen. We then found a table ourselves. The drinks and food were served relatively quickly. My wife received her wine with a thick, fat lipstick mark. Of course, they apologized, and brought a new glass. The meal took about an hour, which we felt was too long. My wife's shrimp were very tasty, but my schnitzel with its thick, sticky sauce wasn't exactly a highlight. The payment process at the end was also difficult because we were initially forgotten about, or the waiters were a bit overwhelmed. Sure, it was busy, but if I have space for 200 guests, I have to have staff for them. The location is beautiful, but I can't make up for it with what I described above.

It was bustling and the atmosphere was rather chaotic. Therefore, I only give the atmosphere a 4. Everything else I would rate a solid 5.

The ambiance is very pleasant. The old train station has a charming feel to it. The service was mostly friendly. Unfortunately, around 8:30 p.m., the cleanup rush began, and they tried to take everything from the tables. My partner's sauce was simply cleared away even though she was still eating. And they did it so quickly that you couldn't even hear the stop. The waiter also parked used dishes from other tables at our table in order to get more from other tables. An absolute no-go. Overall, the food was too poor for the price (large schnitzel €30). The sauces were probably from a bucket (a lot of thickener) and only lukewarm. It was a nice outing, but we won't be coming regularly.

It's a disgrace to offer such an overpriced dish. It doesn't taste good! It tastes the same at any food stand but costs only half as much! But you have to pay for the forest!

We had reserved a table... We were seated, and nothing happened for 20 minutes... After asking several times, the food and drinks were finally served... several items on the menu were out... The food was carelessly slapped onto the plate, but it actually tasted okay! After the meal, we asked for the menu again for dessert... another 15 minutes, nothing happened... Afterward, we just paid, annoyed. For me, the first and last time...

A very beautiful historic building, a former train station with a shady beer garden terrace. Good German cuisine. Friendly service. Easy parking. Highly recommended, just a few minutes from Wiesbaden.

If you like schnitzel, this is the place to go. Both the pork and chicken schnitzel were very good. The staff was also super friendly.

Improvement needed! Over €30 for a normal-sized schnitzel that isn't even good enough. The sauce is thick and comes from a bucket. Clearly a ready-made product. My sauce jug was taken away from me in the middle of my meal, even though it was still half full, my schnitzel was still on my plate, and I had my cutlery in my hand. Other guests' dirty dishes were left on our table. On top of that, the room is very noisy. Unfortunately, extremely disappointing. €65 for a small and a normal schnitzel with drinks is way too much for this. The portion for €20 is not bad at all. See picture.

I used to go there often, but for me the price-performance ratio is no longer right. Simply raising the prices and having even less on the plate will backfire. By the way, this post was a year old. I think the prices for drinks are totally excessive - a wheat beer for over 5 euros, no thanks, and it will never get any cheaper.
