The service is arrogant and unfriendly. Unfortunately, instead of the normal schnitzel, I got chicken schnitzel with the comment “That tastes good too.”… overall it tasted average and it was too expensive for that. We wanted to pay and communicated this. Unfortunately no one came so we paid in front after 20 minutes. The visit remains unique in the truest sense. We won't come back!

The service staff are absolutely not attentive and friendly. Even though we paid expensive money, the wrong order was brought and we waited over 20 minutes in all the heat until we could finally pay... the food is also very mediocre, the portion is large but the taste is mediocre and way too expensive.

Delicious food at fair prices! Very friendly staff, restaurant manager very empathetic. Went to the sun room with 17 people (for my mother's "farewell" after the urn burial in nearby Friedwald). This is separate but open in a niche and therefore doesn't feel too secluded.

Actually a good restaurant. On our last visit, both the schnitzel and the meatloaf had a lot of cartilage in the meat, which made eating them very unpleasant. In addition, payment by standard credit card is not possible and you cannot give tips by card? It's your own fault - then there's no tip if you don't have anything in cash with you...

We have visited the Waldgeist restaurant several times. Food was great as always (but in my opinion the prices are now way too high). All I can say about the service is that the older gentleman with gray hair is by far one of the worst service staff we have ever experienced. Very “condescending” towards the rest of the staff and also the guests who asked for a table. They were told loudly across the store that "nothing works without a reservation anymore." After eating, we sat at the table with empty plates/glasses for 40 (!) minutes without anyone asking if we wanted to have dessert or if we wanted something to drink (we definitely wanted to, but then we forgot ). Only after being informed several times were we finally “allowed” to pay (I think we had to wait 25 minutes here too). The blame was of course placed on the colleagues who didn't inform him (we saw how he got the information). We will soon visit the surrounding old-established restaurants in Taunusstein...and enjoy them. We no longer felt comfortable here.

We had to wait over an hour for our food and they didn't even apologize. The chicken schnitzel was good. The fries are just normal salted fries from the deep fryer and the cream sauce tasted like a ready-made sauce to me. Would give it a 5/10. Too expensive in my opinion. From XXXXXL to XS - a failed restructuring When you first look at the menu you will see prices that correspond to the current situation. Unfortunately, around €19 for a schnitzel with fries is now the standard. However, there was great disappointment when the food was brought to the table: the portions were very small in comparison and in keeping with the prices. The taste of the food was okay. Unfortunately the waiting time is too long. Price/performance ratio is not right here. A further visit is therefore ruled out. I can't recommend a visit either. The competition is better positioned with the same or better quality, larger portions and the same prices. Too bad!

The food was super tasty. The dishes can be ordered in different sizes. The waitresses were very friendly. We got 2 seats even without a reservation. Highly recommended!

It was probably the last time we were there, the boss behaved like an ax in the woods in front of all the guests and was rude to the guests, apparently because they were understaffed, I think only the waitresses and chef keep the place alive, that happened many times there, but I never experienced anything like that at the snack bar around the corner, it was really nice there. But everything changes these days, including the forest spirit ✌️

Since I always pay with Paypal, there were problems today. Despite explaining that I didn't have any other means of payment with me, the boss insisted on leaving a deposit because only EC was accepted. So I had to walk home and then drive back to pay. If it was just about the fees, I could have just added those on top, so what? But no, the boss wants to assert himself here and remains inflexible. It's OK. This criticism does not apply to the rest of the service staff. They were top notch without exception. And no, no one is obliged to accept other means of payment, but a little more flexibility should be possible in the catering industry. I would have liked to have paid the fees on top. So there wasn't even a tip yet.

The food is really good and the price/performance ratio is definitely right because you will definitely be full. Unfortunately, the service wasn't that good. I had to order my drink from several waiters and didn't get it until I complained. In general, hardly anyone else came to our table to check that everything was going well. I never saw the soup I ordered as a starter, but it was added to my bill... Even if the food is good, I will think three times about coming here again.

We were there on a Friday, the menu said Friday was burger day, but we didn't see any burgers on the menu. When we asked, we were told that these would be on a different map. This would also be offered to us. But we didn't understand why it wasn't put down right away. But this is just a small point of criticism.

Food was okay, the fries were tk (frozen fries) and not fresh. The portions were too small for the price.

There is no cooking here. All finished products that are more or less fried, mixed or made hot. Some drinks are diluted. Either they had a bad day or the other positive commenters have very limited tastes. The prices are completely excessive for the service. Have you become so undemanding now? It's a shame for the lost evening.

Unfortunately, the service was lacking on our last visit. We stood for about 10 minutes. in the entrance until we were assigned a table. It took another 20 minutes before we could place our order. In order to pay we had to tell the counter at the front. We're not used to that here! The service walked past us several times, served the surrounding tables, our glasses were empty, apparently no one was interested

It used to be a really great restaurant. We ordered a schnitzel with fries, but at first no salad was brought, there was no sauce on the burger, and the portion of fries was outrageously small. The service was totally overwhelmed. We won't be coming back!

The food is good. Of course there is a lot going on on a holiday like May 1st, but if you don't even have a card after 15 minutes, something is wrong. I then tried to place my order with three waitresses, but was rejected each time: "The colleague does that..."? The shortage of personnel in the catering industry is particularly noticeable here. The beer garden is always worth a visit when the weather is nice.

Hier wird nicht jeder bedient. Es wurde noch nicht einmal eine Speisenkarte gereicht. Personal quatscht während der Hochphase zur Mittagszeit lieber mit den Kumpels am Nebentisch. Keine Nachfrage nach einem Getränkewunsch. Einfach unverschämt. Da wird man in jeder Pommes-Bude besser bewirtet.

I had spare ribs with bread, unfortunately the spare ribs were quite dry. We also had to wait quite a long time for food. All in all it was okay, but I wouldn't go there again.

The beautifully located restaurant could use a new coat of paint. Inside and outside. But if you just want something to eat, you're in good hands here. But the kitchen only gets three stars because my cheese spaetzle wasn't what you might expect and be used to. In terms of quantity, however, my menu was OK. The service was very friendly and attentive. Overall prices are a bit too high in my opinion, but not exaggerated.

The food was very good and plentiful. Too many side dishes and not enough sauce for my needs. You have to be able to afford an appetizer. 120 grams of baked Camenbert for 19 euros 😵‍💫 The ambience is nice, but every corner is used to its full potential and the tables are quite narrow. You shouldn't necessarily have private conversations if the table next to you is occupied.

Rustic restaurant with typical German cuisine. Schnitzels are no longer as huge as they used to be. This makes it completely edible for an average hungry person. The “failure foil” that was often necessary in the past is no longer needed. Update 04.22 The staff is still super friendly. Thanks for that.

So the food is okay although the portions are still huge. I wanted a starter that is actually a main course. So only eat one. I can't recommend the spaerribb too much pepper and thyme and very dry. The calemari, on the other hand, was great. The ailioli with baguette also tastes really good. Be careful, portions are always large. Otherwise it is very comfortable to linger there. And the staff is very nice and funny

Disastrous burger and schnitzel! We're only there because we have this gourmet block. The crowning finale: the cashier tore our voucher out of the gourmet block (2 main courses for the price of one) and we still paid the entire bill for 2 dishes and 2 drinks! Unfortunately, we only noticed it later because the burger isn't on the menu on site, but only on the internet.

I have been before here and the atmosphere was changed. I couldn't get a point to say that is OK. Staff was rude and the service was not optimal. The food very poor, Schnitzel and Pommes very dry. I didn't like in general the situation. Very poor experience. I hope it will change and I can come back to this restaurant. The big table and chair was not there!!!

The taste of the food itself is average, but if you want a unique experience, this is a good restaurant to visit at least once. It boasts a huge portion, and one burger is large enough for four people to share. It's located in the mountains, so the scenery is nice and it's perfect for a walk after a meal.

A beautiful location in itself, in the middle of the forest. There is a small play area for children. There are plenty of parking spaces available. There are walking/hiking trails all around. Unfortunately, the quality of the food did not meet our expectations. But the portions are large and you'll be full. If you like fried foods, you will find a large selection. The food didn't come at the same time, but one after the other. Of all things, the children's meal came last. The goulash meat was dry and the sauce on the pork fillet had already put on the skin. The Asterix Burger was good. The restaurant is relatively large and was very busy on Friday evening, so the concept seems to be working. There is enough space, especially for larger groups. Children are also welcome. Dogs are allowed. As a result, the noise level is constantly high. What was noticeable was the many defective light bulbs that were waiting to be replaced. There is a plus point for the free guest WiFi.

The schnitzel "Viennese style" was very bad. Some of the meat was so full of tendons that the knife couldn't go through. Absolutely no taste. The breading was wet. Fryer disaster. We had a stomach ache when we ate. Unfortunately, the quality has decreased compared to the last visit in December.

Der Laden ist gut gemacht und sehr auf Masse und Geschwindigkeit ausgelegt. Ich denke das er mindestens 300 Sitzplätze hat im Sommer mehr. Der Laden ist ja bekannt für seine XXL Teller, zum Glück kann man auch fast normale Portionen bestellen. Weil ein Schnitzel mit 500g plus Pommes Sauße und Salat braucht kein Mensch und ist mit knapp 30 Euro auch nicht günstig. Das normale Schnitzel für knapp 20 ist auch groß man sollte Hunger haben dafür. Alles in allem ist der Laden OK ein schönes großes Ausflugslokal wo man auf jeden Fall nicht hungrig bleibt . Wenn wir nochmal in der nähe sind kann es gut sein das wir da nochmal einkehren .

Mega tolles Restaurant. Ist aber von der Menge ( XXL ) abgegangen. Es gibt aber noch eine xtra XXL Speisekarte für den Mega Hunger. Es ist bestens zu empfehlen für Schnitzel Fans ( mit normalen hunger ). Die "Eiserne Hand Pfanne" ist Mega. Echt was für Männer 😂💪🏼. Die Desserts sind gut aber teuer und immer diese eklige Sprühsahne. Der Spielplatz sieht arg traurig aus. Der müsste mal im Frühjahr aufgepeppt werden 🧒🏻👦🏼👧🏼🧑🏻👱🏼👨🏻‍🦰. Sehr nettes Personal, familiäre Atmosphäre und gute Küche

Kennen den Waldgeist schon seit ca. 15 Jahren und kehren immer mal dort ein. Das Esse war bis jetzt immer schmackhaft und gut.

Das 400gr Rumpsteak super gebraten, ein Traum.

Wir (2 Erwachsene) waren gestern mit dem Schlemmerblock im "Waldgeist" essen. Die Location ist toll gemacht (ehemaliges Bahnhofsgebäude?). Service- naja. Jede Menge "Crewmitglieder", aber leider sehr unaufmerksam. Es schien wichtiger, die Weihnachtsdeko wegzuräumen und Regale zu säubern, anstatt die Gäste zu bedienen. Schade. Essen mittelmäßig. Die Champignoncremesuppe war überwürzt. Der Backfisch für den Preis mengenmäßig sehr wenig und Qualität Durchschnitt. Die Gulaschsuppe und das Feta-Pfännchen waren gut, wenn auch recht hochpreisig. Liegt vielleicht daran, dass um Wiesbaden herum alles etwas teurer ist? Wir werden jedenfalls nicht mehr dorthin gehen. Haben die Location nur aufgrund des Schlemmerblocks gewählt, und waren gerade in der Nähe.

Hab schon besser gegessen. Das Ambiente gleicht einer Bahnhofshalle und so war auch das Niveau vom Essen. Schnitzel mit Pommes lieblos auf den Teller gebracht, ohne Deko. Das Ganze bestenfalls Kantinenqualität. Nur das der Preis 3 mal so hoch war, wie in einer Kantine. Da habe ich ehrlich gesagt, etwas mehr erwartet.

Sehr gutes Essen, Offenes, entspanntes, sehr nettes Team. Wohlfühlambiente. Kurze Wartezeiten. Wir waren lange nicht mehr hier, die Gerichte sind aber nach wie vor erste Sahne. Die Karte wurde gekürzt, was aber keinerlei Auswirkungen auf die Qualität hatte. Es gibt jetzt weniger XXL-Speisen. Das störte uns aber nicht. Kamen für faires Budget voll auf unsere Kosten. Nur zu empfehlen...!!! Alles super. Gerne wieder...!

Ich war heute mit meiner Familie meinen Geburtstag feiern. Da wir schon oft bei ihnen waren und das Essen immer sehr lecker und war/ist. Das Ambiente für uns immer angenehm war. Das Personal ist bemüht und war nett. Leider muss ich sagen das mir ein paar Dinge unangenehm aufgefallen sind. Zum einen kahm eine der Bedienungen immer kauend an unseren Tisch, so das man gemeint hat sie hätte sich gerade etwas zu essen in den Mund gesteckt. Zum anderen fand ich es unangenehm wenn ein Mitarbeiter ständig rum hustet und das auch am Tisch. Gerade im Gastronomie Bereich empfand ich dies als sehr unangenehm und störend. Die Stühle weißen leider sehr viel Flecken auf. Nicht sehr schön anzusehen..
