Very, very loud and uncomfortable but the food was really delicious and the service was very friendly.

The location of the restaurant is excellent. If you want to take long walks in the forests of the Harz Mountains, this restaurant could be a perfect stop to have a bite to eat or a dessert.

Very nice staff. The food was good down to earth! But it was more of a dining room for large groups without a special ambience.

After a nice hike on the fairytale hiking trail, we stopped here and had a delicious meal. There was also something to eat for children. There was also a small corner with children's books. The service was great even though it was very busy. A clear recommendation!!!!

We were here twice today, the first and the last time: while my children each had a scoop of ice cream and my husband had a small beer, I waited patiently for my raspberry cup. It came when everyone was ready, but without raspberries had forgotten the kitchen. I was able to really enjoy the ice cream with two bored kids and husband... and instead of a simple "I'm sorry," I could see what was going on. Thank you!

Food was very good. However, the ambience seemed a bit too cold for me personally. It's probably nicer in the summer, as there is a large beer garden. Easily accessible by car, but you are not allowed to drive all the way to the restaurant. Unfortunately, it is ignored by many visitors! From the official parking lot about 500 meters.

The inn is easy to reach, whether on foot or by car. The food is always very good and tasty, I would never be disappointed.

Top facility. Despite the off-season, the outdoor area with self-service is still open. There is also enough space inside for spontaneous visits. Friendly, accommodating, gladly again 👍

After hiking with our children along the fairytale trail, we arrived at the forest inn hungry. Despite the unsettled weather, we were able to enjoy our meal outside on the sun terrace. There was a lot going on in the inn, but we didn't have to wait long for our food and it was very tasty. After eating, the children ran around in the small playground. It was very great and we would love to come back.

Very nicely located and great ambience, the hike is definitely worth it and the fairytale trail is always worthwhile and very interesting for the children.

It was raining heavily and there were hardly any guests in the house. The waitresses were very friendly and the atmosphere soon became good. The order was delivered quickly, was plentiful and tasty. But the ice freezer next to the counter hummed so loudly that we had to interrupt our conversation and cover our ears. After paying quickly, we left the restaurant annoyed and in a hurry.

Very friendly, attentive service. The best ice cream and the cake was outstanding too. My grandchildren said the ice cream was just as good as Italian.

Dogs were allowed in the beer garden and there are even dog ice cream and dog lollies available for purchase. Nice modern atmosphere. Food very tasty.

I was treated unkindly! I ordered an ice cream sundae and politely asked for a different type of ice cream than what was on the menu... after a long discussion I got an ice cream sundae with too much cream and a lot of honey on top. And a reproach from the waitress who, thanks to my special wishes, is in trouble. Unprofessional. Not worth €8.50! My friend had pretty bad fries for 9€🍟 we are disappointed 😞!

Stopped here after a hike. If you want to sit outside it's self-service, inside you'll be served and that's completely fine. A good selection of food and drinks, you will definitely find what you are looking for here. We were here in the late afternoon, unfortunately our food was cold. It's a shame, it tasted good. I had pea soup with bockwurst for just under €10 and my companion had dumplings with red cabbage and goulash for just under €20. The outdoor area is very cozy, a nice playground for the children, an ideal starting point for the fairytale nature trail and the Scharfenstein. Free parking for guests in the pub directly in front of the restaurant, for hikers about 300 m further and is well signposted.

The terrace is very nice and the food is also delicious. The Jägerschnitzel with fries is a little more expensive at just under €20, but the quality of the food and the ambience are a good balance. The 0.5er Fransiskaner is available for just under €5. Totally ok. Food is available at the counter for self-service and card payments are possible from €5. There is also a children's playground at the start.

Lost sight of as a resident of the area for many years and now rediscovered. 😃 Went there a few weeks ago as part of a small family wedding celebration for lunch, coffee, cake, dinner and now again a few days ago while hiking to eat cake. When it came to the main courses, I was very surprised at how high-quality and lovingly prepared they were. This is something you rarely see in tourist destinations. I liked the cake the most. Everything is homemade and very, very tasty. 😋 As a resident, I think it's nice to see that the forest inn has not degenerated into a "tourist rip-off". The price-performance ratio is great and the staff are very nice and attentive. I'll definitely come back more often now, even if it's for a piece of cake. 😅

I recently visited the Armenleuteberg inn in Wernigerode and was impressed again. The place has changed a bit, but remains great. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent price-performance ratio. The service is very friendly and accommodating, which makes the visit very pleasant. The food is still extremely tasty and the drinks are also very, very good. Every visit is a pleasure and the quality of the food is consistently high. Overall, a highly recommended place where you can enjoy a great culinary experience for a fair price. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Great outdoor area, very well put together menu and great food!!!

Nicely located restaurant. Sat outside on the terrace. There you can order at the counter and you get a buzzer when your food is ready. I had CP. I was disappointed with the sauce, it could have been a sauce for spaghetti. The portion was large and the taste of the sausage and fries was very good.

Unfortunately there were no more shaded areas outside, but inside you could also sit well and the children could move around. We had coffee, cake and ice cream, everything was good, friendly staff.

We were at the inn Armenleuteberg in Wernigerode as part of the Harz hiking nobility. From the outside it looked very neat and tidy.

Very nice restaurant in beautiful surroundings. You can sit in the restaurant (with service) or outside (with self-service). Further up there are several benches for a picnic. There you can then eat the hiking food you brought with you. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We'd love to come back.

Our Easter Sunday meal was simply delicious. Nice atmosphere, Easter surprise for the children. A nice hiking destination if you want to climb the mountain of Wernigerode. (You can also use the car) There is also a snack bar with an outdoor area next to the restaurant if you are hungry.

Update from April 21, 2024 The tents were pitched here around 4 p.m. on a Sunday after an event. Kitchen is open until 5 p.m. from April. Found something nice on the menu. Lots of dishes that sound delicious. Cheddar schnitzel with onions and cheese gratinated with fries. Was really tasty. The others had feta cheese with salad. Once there was the yeast dumpling. Everything was delicious, staff friendly! Like last time, very satisfied. 2023 When the weather was nice, we sat down here in the outdoor area at around 4:30 p.m. last weekend. Nice terrace. It should just be something small. The kitchen is open until 5:00 p.m. Ordered outside from a friendly employee. No fake friendliness. Got the beeper and sat down again. We each had two waffles with blueberries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I think the price was €8.50. Very tasty waffles. They came one by one, as there is probably only one waffle iron. But it wasn't a problem. I had a very good cappuccino to drink. It is open until 6:00 p.m. We felt comfortable and I recommend it without reservation. Card payment is possible. Then a short walk to Scharfenstein.

We went to the restaurant for coffee. The service was friendly and quick. There was a large selection of cakes and tarts. The cake was fresh and delicious and we were very satisfied.

A great place to stop, whether after a hike or by car. After the interior renovation, the Armenleuteberg restaurant has become a real eye-catcher. Local artists have contributed to the new design idea in a modern and elegant way and give the restaurant its own charm. The food was good, the portion size was reasonable. The service was friendly, the food came quickly. Definitely a recommendation

... my daughter's little youth dedication party was there... we registered at short notice... So giving 5 stars is definitely not enough!!! We were thrilled!!! Friendly welcome with lovingly designed table decorations with a welcome sign and candles 🥰😇😊… Child-friendly… and the food is absolutely great!!! And of course the friendly service deserves a medal 🤩... gastronomy at its best...!!! We will not forget this lovely stay here…. Many thanks to the entire team at Waldgasthaus Armeleuteberg 👏🏻👍🏻🙋🏼‍♀️

We stayed at the Waldgasthaus Armeleuteberg as a family in March 2024. We ordered spiced meat, tarte flambée, potato pancakes with applesauce and ice cream. The food came to the table quickly and was very tasty. Overall the prices are slightly higher. 8.50 euros for a tiny bowl of seasoned meat is quite a bit. Nevertheless, the trip was worth it. We'll definitely come back.

We didn't try any food but it's in a great location on the way to the Kaiserturm. It's best to stop by on the way back.
