We were here for dinner today and not only found nice guests but also exceptional and delicious food. The service was super nice, friendly and very open, so that a conversation outside the box quickly developed. The prices are more than fair to the quality and quantity... We would be happy to come back...

Operating hours differ from those indicated. Today, for example, they didn’t work from 14.30 to 17, but we expected to have lunch :(

Was fine Schnitzel with fried potatoes and mushrooms Fried potatoes were a bit blonde, mushrooms could have used a little sauce, 2 schnitzels came out of the pan Roast venison with red cabbage and dumplings Venison could have stayed in the pot for a while, it was a bit tough, sauce, red cabbage and dumplings were absolutely ok Food tasted good and was plentiful. Only the starter salad was left over. Service was quick and friendly.

We were guests at the “Steingrube” for the first time and were welcomed and served as if we had been old friends of the house for a long time. Thanks for that, that's not the case everywhere. The food is good German cuisine, very rich and tasty. We will definitely come back.

The food was absolutely not a hit. The mustard was still visible on the roulade. So it wasn't in the pan long enough. The color wasn't that great either. It was more like a white sausage. The roast venison was tough and the sauerbraten was weak. The service is friendly but also requires a lot of communication. All in all, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Everything is just right at this restaurant! The quality of the food, the ambience, the staff, everything was great!! Anyone who loves down-to-earth German cuisine will get their money's worth here! The ox cheeks were as tender as butter, the sauce was delicious and the Brussels sprouts were perfectly seasoned and cooked! The food is simple, mainly consisting of frozen goods and industrial products. The side salad is basically inedible. The bread comes pre-cut from the plastic bag. The stuffed schnitzel is bland and tastes like thawed goods. With the Harzer Platter, cheese, cucumber and onions from the supermarket are presented on a plate. The lard is pure white and has no taste. Service and ambience top. The drinks are well chilled. But the food can go😂

On the way back from the castle we searched on Google for a restaurant away from the trouble. The Steingrube restaurant caught our eye. So we went straight from the castle to the restaurant. When we arrived on site, we first had to look for an EC machine because the restaurant only accepts cash. After looking at the menu, it quickly became clear what my husband wanted: Roast venison. It became a little more difficult for me because unfortunately I don't like a lot of things. But then, actually on the children's menu, I found my food. Fried cake with applesauce. When I ordered I asked if these were also available for adults. It wasn't a problem, they even asked how much more it should be. Here in Münsterland, potato pancakes are flat and often small. When I received my order I was very amazed. There were five large, thick potato pancakes on the plate. They were prepared differently than I know from ours. But they were delicious and freshly prepared. No frozen goods! We felt completely comfortable in the restaurant. The furnishings are something different and the cuisine is incredibly delicious. We would eat there again at any time. Away from the trouble, where you can have a chat.

We had dinner here today at the end of our vacation in the Harz Mountains. Friendly staff, very cozy. Price performance is right.

Once and never again! There was a hair in my casserole that had a color gradient from gray to black. When I kindly pointed out the faux pas to the waitress, she told me quite harshly that it couldn't be human hair because the chef was bald. (So ​​there must be animals in the kitchen, or pets living in the household, which makes it even more unappetizing...! How else could a hair be baked into the cheese???) I lost my appetite to eat anything in this restaurant (a third of the casserole was also lost), so I politely declined the offered coffee or dessert. I would have expected the lady to accommodate us with the price under these circumstances, but the waitress didn't even think about that. You won't see us there again!

Nice, rustic restaurant just outside the typical gastro mile. We were the only guests on site around 5:30 p.m. You were welcomed by a friendly female waiter who was always attentive throughout your stay. The order was “roast venison” and “schnitzel with mushroom sauce”. Extra requests could be made when ordering without any problems. The preparation of the food was quite quick... perhaps a little too quick. The food didn't give the impression that everything was freshly prepared on a daily basis. I think that some products were simply thawed or pre-cooked. Unfortunately, the taste was nothing out of the ordinary. The portions were adequate for an average eater. But it doesn't satisfy great hunger there. But we were full. There also seems to have been a significant increase in price due to inflation and energy prices. Since this is unfortunately the case everywhere at the moment, we cannot speak of exorbitant prices here. Conclusion: You can feel very comfortable there and drink a good beer and have nice conversations, but I would probably eat somewhere else next time.

A nice rustic restaurant a little out of the way. The food was fresh and tasty, real home cooking. Service was very child-friendly. There was even a coloring book and pens to keep you busy. Highly recommended.

We ordered broccoli auflauf and a schnitzel and both the dishes were really delicious. The price is reasonable and the quantity quite good. I would come back here again. Actually a very cozy place. The service is very accommodating. However, the food was just average. And the salad was a few roughly chopped carrots and a few slices of cucumber that came carelessly on the plate. It makes you feel a bit like a rabbit. The prices are also very moderate.

We were there for dinner with 14 people. There was only one operator, but she handled everything very well. The woman did her job excellently. The food was also very, very tasty. From the price you could see that almost all dishes were made around 3 to 5 euros more expensive. And in terms of ambience, a lot needs to be done. The heating was on the lowest setting and there was a draft in every corner. And that at a temperature outside of minus 10 degrees. Otherwise, if something is done. We can all always recommend the Steingrube.

Sind spontan an Neujahr nach Wernigerode gefahren und wollten noch abends etwas essen. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Ich hatte die Soljanka als Vorspeise und die Ochsenbäckchen als Hauptgang. Beides war sehr lecker und die Ochsenbäckchen auf den Punkt gegaart. Die Bedienung war eine sehr nette Dame mit der man auch in's Gespräch gekommen ist. Hier ist eine Mischung aus Restaurant und Kneipe. Sehr sympathischer Laden

After attempting to unsuccessfully negotiate a table in two other restaurants, a lovely lady who spoke no English welcomed me and rescued me. Through my phone using images and text translators, we finally agreed that I wanted an entree and a main course. The food was good, the beer was also good and I got a meal. I was happy.

Draußen gibt es leider nur 3-4 Tische. Wir saßen bei bestem Wetter drinnen und das war auch angenehm kühl. Bedienung sehr nett und auf Zack. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Weiter so!

Wir haben in Wernigerode Urlaub gemacht und sind zum Glück auf dieses Restaurant gestoßen. Ganz liebe Bedienung, urige Gaststätte und extrem leckeres Essen zu einem günstigen Preis. Klare Weiterempfehlung.

Das Haus scheint deutlich älter als die Gastronomie selbst zu sein. Wunderbares Fachwerk außen und antik anmutendes Holzinterieur innen. Der Eingang ist mit 2 Stufen und schmalen Gängen nicht rollstuhltauglich, man kann aber auch an 3-4 Tischen draußen sitzen. Bier: - Radeberger - Hasseröder vom Fass Beides wirklich keine gustatorisch anspruchsvollen Biere, aber zumindest das Hasseröder ist in der Gegend ja obligatorisch. Ein schönes Flaschenbier, ein hochwertiges Ale z. B., täte der Karte gut. Essen: - Fleisch vom Scheiterhaufen: einwandfreies Schnitzel, gefüllt mit dem berühmt-berüchtigtem Harzer Käse. Auch als dem Sauermilchkäse eher abgeneigter Mensch konnte ich der Empfehlung der Bedienung nicht widerstehen und wurde absolut nicht enttäuscht. Das gefüllte Schnitzel war sehr gut, genau wie die Kartoffelspalten mit Sauerrahm, die kräftig gewürzt waren und irgendwie einen leichten Hauch Spargel an sich hatten. Besten Wedges seit langem. Die Salatbeilage war unaufgeregt, einfach nur 'nen bisschen was Frisches auf dem Teller.

Wir waren mit zwei Kindern da und wurden außerordentlich freundlich behandelt. Beispielsweise wurde uns aktiv ein Hochstuhl angeboten und ein Malbuch angeboten. Wir hatten Sülze mit Bratkartoffeln (super) und Himmel und Erde, wobei der Kartoffelbrei wohl nicht selbstgemacht war. Service sehr freundlich und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis gut.

Die Gaststätte Steingrube !. Sehr schöne kl. Harz-Gaststube. Liegt hinter Hauptfüssgängerzone in Wernigerode. Vor Gaststätte 3. kl. Sitzgruppen. Innen dafür mehr Sitzplätze .

Háromszor vacsoráztunk itt és egyszer sem csalódtunk. Remek konyha, kedves kiszolgálás, nagyszerű hangulat, kedvező árak.

Leckeres Essen, echt schönes Ambiente und sehr freundlicher Kellner. Mit dem Feuerwehrmuseum gegenüber auch gleich noch was Interessantes zu sehen.
