We initially had a very positive experience: The food was delicious, the service friendly, and despite not having a reservation, we were able to get a table without any problems. The staff was attentive and welcoming, and we felt very comfortable at first. Unfortunately, the atmosphere changed abruptly when someone appeared who we suspect was the owner. A tense atmosphere among the team was immediately noticeable. From that point on, everything fell apart: We weren't given any more drinks, weren't asked if we wanted anything else, and felt completely ignored. One particularly unpleasant situation occurred when a waiter already had one of our glasses in his hand to clear it, only to be called back by the "owner" to serve another table. Even after I made eye contact and clearly indicated that we wanted to order something else, this person pointedly turned away. Our impression was that, unfortunately, as a guest, you only receive attention under his supervision if you are personally known. This is a real shame, because apart from that, the ambiance, service, and food were truly excellent. A "boss" who puts so much pressure on his employees and ignores paying customers unfortunately leaves a very negative impression. I'm therefore unsure whether we'll visit this restaurant again. It's a real shame.

Unfortunately, upon arriving at the restaurant on Friday, November 7th, 2025, around 7:00 PM, we encountered a grumpy and unfriendly usher. The service at our table was much more pleasant, and the food and drinks were excellent at reasonable prices.

We probably caused a disturbance because we hadn't made a reservation! We arrived spontaneously at 5 p.m. after a long walk to the Brocken mountain with our child. The restaurant wasn't full, and we were given a table in a corner far away from other guests, making us feel very unwelcome. Very disappointing!

The food and the ambiance are perfectly matched here. This is definitely not your average restaurant, but rather a dining experience. Down-to-earth and unpretentious, yet able to deliver. Substance over style. No overloaded menu or separate menu for meat dishes. A good balance between "regular" and specialty dishes. Delicious and beautifully presented food. Friendly and attentive staff. A courteous and charming restaurant manager. Thank you for the lovely afternoon.

Unfortunately, I can only rate the service and not the food or the ambiance, so why more on that now? We called there at lunchtime to reserve a table for two people, including our small puppy. I specifically requested a seat somewhere in the corner or at the edge, as it would be more relaxed for everyone with a puppy...that should really be obvious. On the phone, the server told us, in what I thought was a not-so-friendly tone, that this wouldn't be a problem. Now, arriving shortly before our reservation time, we were offered seats: once directly by the waiter's aisle, at a high table, and then right in the middle of other guests. I don't know what the guy on the phone didn't quite understand, but my request was ignored. Well, instead of offering us a compromise or another solution, like waiting until a suitable seat became available, the restaurant didn't respond. So, we had to leave in the pouring rain without having eaten anything. Very, very annoying. We will definitely avoid this store from now on.

Delicious food and service are convincing and keep us coming back. It's always a delicious and wholesome meal.

A rarity! A "real" Italian restaurant! Excellent service, run by Claude and his fantastic team. Upscale dining that's second to none. If we come to the Harz Mountains, it's a must!

The table was in the last booth, the pizza was smaller than expected (and stated on the menu), and the "mild" aglio e olio almost caught on fire. Service was very infrequent and, when it was, very rushed (quick order, quick service). Had the pizza not been delicious, it would have received far fewer stars. It's a shame, really, because this really is a place with potential.

We ate there three times in total. The Liguini Chef is fantastic. Worth every cent.

A very cozy and modern restaurant. The bruschetta starter was excellent, and the pizza and spaghetti aglio e olio were among the best I've ever eaten. The service was very friendly, but patience is required when the place is busy. The chef (at least I think it was him) seemed a bit tense – a bit more cordiality would have been appreciated. Overall, it was a lovely evening, and we'd happily recommend the restaurant!

Very pleasant ambiance with beautiful views in parts of the restaurant. The service was exceptionally friendly and competent. We had pizza. Both were very good. The appetizer, bruschetta, was perfect. However, we found the orange-colored Italian drinks a bit bland. It was as if the "sparkling wine" had been forgotten. The tiramisu was good, but not exceptional. Overall, a very pleasant experience - we'll be back.

The pizzas, pasta, and entrecôte were very tasty. Despite a large table, everyone received their meal at virtually the same time. We'd be happy to come back.

We often visit Schierke on weekends. Today was our first visit to this restaurant. It was a Saturday evening without a reservation. We were lucky, but since it was a bit late, we still got a table. The chef was obviously very good at serving and was very active. Several waiters, both Indian and Black, were very friendly! I liked the open kitchen. I chose the Penne Arrabiata. It was pleasantly spicy, and the portion size was also decent. The overall impression was very good for all four of us. Pleasantly surprised. We'll be back!

I had a very tasty lasagna while the owner strolled through the restaurant singing along. The food was top-quality, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was matter-of-factly polite. But: Despite the good quality, €17.50 for what I consider a rather small lasagna is quite expensive in my opinion. I also found the other prices quite high.

I got a table spontaneously yesterday. The waiter seemed a bit annoyed and unfriendly to his staff. My order was taken quickly. My friend's cocktail didn't arrive until after the main course. The main course itself tasted like it had been reheated. The tagliatelle was very dry and hard at the ends. Unfortunately, the dish was so oily that it just didn't taste good! The Shirkuja soda, on the other hand, was very tasty!

The food had no flavor at all. The portions were far too small. Service was terrible. A lot of money for nothing. A shame. And unfortunately, it's not even open to criticism!

Honestly? The food was good. The service could definitely be better. The waiter seemed very distracted the entire time, never making eye contact during the conversation, and repeatedly forgot to bring us things like bringing our food (even to the next table, who had already ordered long before us) or bringing us the bill. There were uncleaned tables all around us. The atmosphere was still nice, the food good, just overpriced (spaghetti bologna for almost €18 and we were still hungry afterward). My husband thought the "salami picante" pizza was very tasty. But the bottom line is, we won't be coming back. There are better options.

At first, when the restaurant wasn't full, service was normally fast. As soon as it was half full, the speed of service slowed. The food tasted good and I would recommend it. The price is a bit high, but the quality of the food is okay.

We had dinner here three times during our four-day stay in Schierke, which pretty much says it all. The pizza and pasta were delicious, and the price/performance ratio was good. The restaurant also offers a breakfast buffet. We took advantage of this three times, and it was also very tasty. We liked the selection, especially the scrambled eggs prepared by the chef, which are world-class! We found the service very attentive both in the morning and in the evening. We felt absolutely at home and highly recommend the Montevino.

That's unacceptable. Drink prices are also quite high, more expensive than on the Brocken or Wurmberg. The only thing that's okay is the ambiance. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

We ordered a pizza for pickup. It was ready super quickly. The service was very friendly and efficient. The vegetarian pizza and the four-season pizza were both of very good quality! The grilled vegetables were top-notch, as were the dough, sauce, and degree of doneness. I was happy to pay a euro more for that. I highly recommend it; it's worth it.

Evening at Montevino Schierke! On July 4, 2025, I treated myself to a visit to Montevino in Schierke—and I was more than thrilled. Upon entering the restaurant, I received a very warm welcome and felt welcome and comfortable from the very first minute. I would especially like to mention the waiter, who introduced himself as Anello (or something similar). He was not only extremely friendly and attentive, but also made the evening special for me with his positive, charming manner. The meal was an absolute delight: My seafood insalata, served with olive oil and fresh Parmesan, was perfectly balanced in flavor and beautifully presented. The seafood was fresh and of the highest quality. The whole thing was accompanied by a small drink with fresh strawberries—wonderfully fruity and refreshing, simply summer. A huge compliment to the entire team, and especially to Anello, for his exceptionally good service. I'm really looking forward to my next visit—Montevino Schierke is now a firm favorite of mine!

The pizza was delicious, but if you're looking for Neapolitan pizza, you've come to the wrong place. At least this one had nothing to do with the Neapolitan pizza I've had at Lake Garda or in German restaurants. And sorry, but €5.90 for a 0.4 liter of Coke is insane and borders on rip-off.

A very decent pizzeria. The pizza was great, and the pasta was also very good. The atmosphere is okay, and the restrooms are very clean. When the weather is nice, you can even sit outside. It's not cheap.

Top-shelf Osteria restaurant in Schierke. We had Pizza, Antipasti and a restaurant specialty stuffed bread; all of it was really good quality. Service was top-notch too, the owner himself was out and about and game for a long chat about food, restaurant business and the current state of the world. We had fun and really good food. The environment is cozy but modern, we were seated on the sunroom patio out front, the restaurant itself is pretty, with wood accents without being stuffy. Strong recommendation.

After hiking around Schierke, we stopped at Montevino. I have to say, the atmosphere was great, it was very cozy, and the food was absolutely delicious. I also had the best pizza I've ever had there.

The food was good, but the staff was unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. It took a long time to ask if we wanted to order an espresso. When we asked for an espresso, we were told the machine was already off. Ten minutes later, the waiter wanted to take an espresso order.

We were on vacation in Schierke and happened upon the Montevino. A super cozy restaurant with really friendly staff. The lasagna was really good. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to the Harz Mountains! :-)

I reserved a table online. The waiter was the only one serving, so we weren't shown to our table. It wasn't particularly busy, but we still had to wait 20 minutes to order drinks. Luckily, we were able to order food right away after asking. The pizza tasted great, but it was a bit thin for my taste and the price. The dessert was good, but nothing special. The ambiance is very inviting, but overall, it was rather disappointing for us.

Food is good, but much too expensive.

The pizza was delicious. We were a large group and had called ahead. The waiters were understaffed and all very unfriendly. We waited a very long time for our food. While table B ordered after table A, table B already received their appetizer, main course, and espresso, while table A was still getting their drinks. It felt like they had intentionally made us wait.

Today we visited the Montevino Vin'Osteria restaurant and ordered takeaway. Unfortunately, when we got home, we discovered that instead of a tonno and a salame Napoli pizza, we had received two Napoli pizzas. This was very disappointing for me, as I don't eat salami at all. Of course, I tried to contact the restaurant several times by phone, but unfortunately, no one answered. Hence, 2 stars.

Nice ambience, top service – combined with unusual and extremely delicious food

My girlfriend and I went to this beautiful restaurant today. We originally wanted to try other restaurants in Schierke, as we thought we wouldn't make it before the kitchen closed. However, at the other restaurants, we were turned away 40-30 minutes before the kitchen closed. So we tried this one anyway. We arrived 10 minutes before the kitchen closed. The chef had already started cleaning the kitchen and welcomed us anyway. The ambiance is very nice. You can also choose between indoors, the conservatory, and the terrace. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food selection was very extensive and delicious. We both had spaghetti with Gorgonzola sauce, beef fillet tips, and Parmesan cheese. The beef fillet tips were tender and juicy, perfectly prepared. From our table, we could even see into the kitchen, where we could see how much love the chef put into preparing the pasta. Overall, for these reasons, the restaurant deserves only 5 stars.

The restaurant itself is truly modern and stylishly decorated; the food was delicious, and the wait time was moderate. However, there aren't even diaper-changing facilities, which is a complete no-go these days—especially since children's portions are offered and high chairs are available. I don't expect free coloring materials, etc., for children in every restaurant, but we simply didn't find anything child-friendly (e.g., catering to even the youngest guests, offering a lollipop or something similar at the end). In a restaurant of this upscale category, a diaper-changing area, in particular, should be standard. The waiter apologized, but that didn't change the situation. A real shame. We can't recommend this restaurant for small children!

"We're not accepting anyone without a reservation today." The restaurant was empty, so we had to make an online reservation for 30 minutes?! Customers without reservations were served after us. Drinks 4/5 - we had to wait a very long time for our drinks. Food 5/5
