We ordered a pizza for pickup. It was ready super quickly. The service was very friendly and efficient. The vegetarian pizza and the four-season pizza were both of very good quality! The grilled vegetables were top-notch, as were the dough, sauce, and degree of doneness. I was happy to pay a euro more for that. I highly recommend it; it's worth it.

Evening at Montevino Schierke! On July 4, 2025, I treated myself to a visit to Montevino in Schierke—and I was more than thrilled. Upon entering the restaurant, I received a very warm welcome and felt welcome and comfortable from the very first minute. I would especially like to mention the waiter, who introduced himself as Anello (or something similar). He was not only extremely friendly and attentive, but also made the evening special for me with his positive, charming manner. The meal was an absolute delight: My seafood insalata, served with olive oil and fresh Parmesan, was perfectly balanced in flavor and beautifully presented. The seafood was fresh and of the highest quality. The whole thing was accompanied by a small drink with fresh strawberries—wonderfully fruity and refreshing, simply summer. A huge compliment to the entire team, and especially to Anello, for his exceptionally good service. I'm really looking forward to my next visit—Montevino Schierke is now a firm favorite of mine!

The pizza was delicious, but if you're looking for Neapolitan pizza, you've come to the wrong place. At least this one had nothing to do with the Neapolitan pizza I've had at Lake Garda or in German restaurants. And sorry, but €5.90 for a 0.4 liter of Coke is insane and borders on rip-off.

A very decent pizzeria. The pizza was great, and the pasta was also very good. The atmosphere is okay, and the restrooms are very clean. When the weather is nice, you can even sit outside. It's not cheap.

Top-shelf Osteria restaurant in Schierke. We had Pizza, Antipasti and a restaurant specialty stuffed bread; all of it was really good quality. Service was top-notch too, the owner himself was out and about and game for a long chat about food, restaurant business and the current state of the world. We had fun and really good food. The environment is cozy but modern, we were seated on the sunroom patio out front, the restaurant itself is pretty, with wood accents without being stuffy. Strong recommendation.

After hiking around Schierke, we stopped at Montevino. I have to say, the atmosphere was great, it was very cozy, and the food was absolutely delicious. I also had the best pizza I've ever had there.

The food was good, but the staff was unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. It took a long time to ask if we wanted to order an espresso. When we asked for an espresso, we were told the machine was already off. Ten minutes later, the waiter wanted to take an espresso order.

We were on vacation in Schierke and happened upon the Montevino. A super cozy restaurant with really friendly staff. The lasagna was really good. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to the Harz Mountains! :-)

I reserved a table online. The waiter was the only one serving, so we weren't shown to our table. It wasn't particularly busy, but we still had to wait 20 minutes to order drinks. Luckily, we were able to order food right away after asking. The pizza tasted great, but it was a bit thin for my taste and the price. The dessert was good, but nothing special. The ambiance is very inviting, but overall, it was rather disappointing for us.

The pizza was delicious. We were a large group and had called ahead. The waiters were understaffed and all very unfriendly. We waited a very long time for our food. While table B ordered after table A, table B already received their appetizer, main course, and espresso, while table A was still getting their drinks. It felt like they had intentionally made us wait.

Very delicious food in a lovely setting. There were three of us, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We'd be happy to come back.

This was our first time here and we felt at home in every way! From the lovely, cozy and individually decorated ambiance to the friendly, attentive service and the excellent food. If we're ever in Schierke again, we'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, they were quite unfriendly. You got the feeling they weren't in the mood to serve. Three out of four pizzas were quite burnt.

Nice ambience, top service – combined with unusual and extremely delicious food

My girlfriend and I went to this beautiful restaurant today. We originally wanted to try other restaurants in Schierke, as we thought we wouldn't make it before the kitchen closed. However, at the other restaurants, we were turned away 40-30 minutes before the kitchen closed. So we tried this one anyway. We arrived 10 minutes before the kitchen closed. The chef had already started cleaning the kitchen and welcomed us anyway. The ambiance is very nice. You can also choose between indoors, the conservatory, and the terrace. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food selection was very extensive and delicious. We both had spaghetti with Gorgonzola sauce, beef fillet tips, and Parmesan cheese. The beef fillet tips were tender and juicy, perfectly prepared. From our table, we could even see into the kitchen, where we could see how much love the chef put into preparing the pasta. Overall, for these reasons, the restaurant deserves only 5 stars.

It was a perfect evening with super delicious 😋 food. Everyone was super friendly and the price/performance ratio was excellent.

Today we visited the Montevino Vin'Osteria restaurant and ordered takeaway. Unfortunately, when we got home, we discovered that instead of a tonno and a salame Napoli pizza, we had received two Napoli pizzas. This was very disappointing for me, as I don't eat salami at all. Of course, I tried to contact the restaurant several times by phone, but unfortunately, no one answered. Hence, 2 stars.

Last Friday, the two of us ate at Montevino and were absolutely thrilled! The food was outstanding, the drinks selection left nothing to be desired, and the service was simply exemplary – attentive, friendly, and warm. We felt completely at home and will definitely be back. A true highlight in Schierke!

The restaurant itself is truly modern and stylishly decorated; the food was delicious, and the wait time was moderate. However, there aren't even diaper-changing facilities, which is a complete no-go these days—especially since children's portions are offered and high chairs are available. I don't expect free coloring materials, etc., for children in every restaurant, but we simply didn't find anything child-friendly (e.g., catering to even the youngest guests, offering a lollipop or something similar at the end). In a restaurant of this upscale category, a diaper-changing area, in particular, should be standard. The waiter apologized, but that didn't change the situation. A real shame. We can't recommend this restaurant for small children!

"We're not accepting anyone without a reservation today." The restaurant was empty, so we had to make an online reservation for 30 minutes?! Customers without reservations were served after us. Drinks 4/5 - we had to wait a very long time for our drinks. Food 5/5

Highly recommended...delicious food and nice service...despite a lot of stress

Almost perfect, but unfortunately only almost. Lasagna was good, but the ratio of sauce to Bolognese/Béchamel wasn't right - the result was too dry. Paying €2.50 extra for a slightly spicier Margherita pizza takes some getting used to (it was just chili flakes or chili oil). The Pizza Picante was very decent - and also quite spicy. The atmosphere is very nice, the service was also friendly.

A beautifully decorated restaurant with friendly service staff and highly recommended food. After the hike we were hungry and decided to just ask if there was a table for 4. A table was specially prepared for us on a Saturday evening.

We went here for dinner today during our hiking vacation. The store is well attended. The pizza is world class! The wine is served at just the right temperature. So I definitely recommend it! Thank you for the good food :)

We didn't feel welcome, we were spontaneously there and had asked for a table for 2, the restaurant has a lot of seating options both inside and outside but also some, there were 2 guests outside at the time, when asked if we could get a table for 2 without a reservation they just said: hesitantly, yes ok we can. It seemed to me as if you wanted to “make yourself important” by making an advance reservation. Although there was hardly anything going on. Not even after that. But the food was very tasty and the space outside in the sun was also very nice.

Ate a real bruschetta and pizza again. And my wife's pasta was great too. Any time.

We were warmly welcomed and sat in the cozy winter garden. The waiters were all friendly. The Aperol was super delicious. Not too strong… just right. We had the pizza Tonno and the pizza with spinach and salmon… also delicious. A little more attention would be nice. Water for the dog, questions about whether you wanted something to drink, whether the food tasted good and when you paid, the waiter left so quickly…. Maybe a goodbye? Just a tip. I would still come back.

An unfriendly waiter who immediately argued when we said that we would skip the starter. Ravioli was good, the pizza wasn't great. We had a Pizza Funghi for 14.95 euros. Unfortunately we paid attention to the prices on the receipt too late. We were incorrectly billed for the wine. We do not recommend the restaurant. Book a table somewhere early.

I cannot understand the negative reviews of the site at all and cannot confirm them at all. The ambience, the furnishings and the food are recommended and deserve a full number of stars. The starter was on the table after 5 minutes, the main courses after a total of max. 30 minutes. We had: Fillet steak, excellent cooking point (38€) 3 glasses of wine (12€ per 0.2 glass) 1 water, 1 cola (4€), carpaccio (17.50€), and sepia tagliatelle filled with salmon (16.50€). Overall everything was excellent. The restaurant is more upscale, so you should be prepared for that. You shouldn't forget that Schierke is a top tourist location, so you're paying for it. Unfortunately there are too few parking spaces available. Anyone who has ever been to Schierke knows what the parking situation is like there. We'd love to come back because we're based regionally (Wernigerode). The Italian restaurant is a great place for us to have a great meal. For the people who are interested, We paid €115 for 2 people.

If you pass by here, treat yourself to the Black Tiger Prawns. The pasta is amazing.

Now we wanted to eat outside the hotel in the evening. That’s when we discovered Osteria Monte Vino. Drove by, reserved. It's low season and fully booked. OK ?!?!? Great ambience, has something of Sylt style and Gosch / Vapiano and beach bar (without beach). I think there's something going on here during the season. Staff top. Open kitchen and bar. Cozy modern lighting. Card great. Pizza super tasty. Yes, the prices are fair. Bruscetta is outstanding, as we say. I really haven't eaten anything better yet. Very aromatic and put together with love. Wow...! Was a highlight in Schierke. Thanks ...

What a wonderful restaurant. The menu is focused and not overwhelming, the food from the open kitchen (very trustworthy) is prepared fresh and tasty. The prices are therefore slightly above average and at the same time justified. It's worth reserving a seat, especially on weekends. Extra points are awarded for the vegan selection on the menu!

A little inconspicuous from the outside, but very modern and really nicely done inside. The staff is really genuine and authentically original Italian. You had to ask for the meat menu, but that was a positive. Really delicious. The aperitif and also the dessert are very special. We were very satisfied all around and will definitely come back.

I cannot recommend this restaurant. First we had to wait about 20 minutes before we could even order, then we had to wait over an hour for the food. Visitors who came after us sometimes finished their food before we even had ours. When asked, the waiter only said “everything should be ready at the same time”. You didn't really feel welcome. The three pizzas we had weren't such a hit that we had to accept the waiting time and the price.

We were there on March 8, 2025 with a group of 30 people. I (we) were very dissatisfied. Why ? The boss or head waiter was very rude when we asked questions. "You have to really look at the menu (there were 3). And several of our people were rude. The food, whether pizza, pasta or something else, is not worth this price for the quality delivered. I'm happy to pay more for really good quality, but that wasn't it. But the worst thing was to see how the employees were treated. There were 2 foreign employees who were treated like the last.... We all got that. Conclusion for us "Never again". If you leave more than €1000 in the store, you expect something in return.

I can't rate the food yet. I've been waiting for my pizza for over an hour.

A modern, beautifully decorated restaurant with a sufficient selection on the menu. We liked that vegan pizzas were also on the menu. 👍🏼 When it comes to the pizza with fior di latte & pesto, less is actually more: In our opinion, the pizza was too well topped and left us heavy in our stomachs for a long time after eating.

If Schierke, then also have dinner at Montevino. Clear recommendation due to the quality of the food and drinks as well as the friendliness of the manager and team 👍

Everything was very good except for the Pizzone, which is a folded pizza with Burrata and other things. The disappointing part was that the Burrata was not Burrata. It was probably mozzarella. When I questioned it, the waiter was arrogant and didn't even look....of course, it's Burrata. We had an appetiser called Burratina with a Burrata, and the centre was soft and runny, like it should be, nothing like the Pizzone. Being priced at over 20€ I expected a REAL Burrata.

It was our third time eating there. The pizzas are delicious, pasta dishes are also ok. The atmosphere is really very nice. That about the positive experiences. Unfortunately, the service is quite the opposite; it is far from the typical Italian hospitality here. I can completely agree with the previous speakers here. No accompaniment to the table, no questions asked about requests, waiting times for small things were very long. No noticeable pleasantries when paying and leaving the restaurant. We won't be coming back. However, no one will be interested, the store is still well attended.

I guess it just wasn't our night. But this idea would be wrong, since we were the guests. I had reserved online in advance and was assigned a table rather poorly. It would have been cool if we had been accompanied to the table. From a considerable distance, the only thing that was pointed at was the free table. The order went quickly, rather distantly - but ok. Appetizers and drinks arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately the water tipped us over, it could be clearly heard in the restaurant, the table and the floor were bathed. Staff rushing to help - none. The people at the neighboring tables helped us out with tissues and napkins. When the waiter later saw the appetizer plate, there was no word about the wet utensils and the wet documents/menu were not exchanged either. 🙈 After 60 (!) minutes and it was a Sunday and the restaurant was far from full, I asked if the food we ordered was still coming. “Coming soon” and after another 10 minutes the pizza arrived. Hmm... the taste was ok, as I said: it wasn't our evening. In any case, we won't go there again, I think we'll be able to cope with it. Service also includes friendliness and attentiveness to a small extent, both of which were clearly lacking.

Very tasty Neapolitan pizza! If you want to eat there with small children, you might want to go a little earlier. We had a table from 5.30pm and the pizza arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. After that it was extremely crowded and the only waiter no longer had the opportunity to do justice to every table. But overall it was very pleasant!

The best Italian restaurant in the region and an absolute recommendation! The Montevideo impresses with a great, tasty selection of dishes and a cozy atmosphere! Once you've been there, it's almost like an "addiction" (especially for the good tiramisu).😋 Another Italian restaurant is out of the question. We also have to mention the extremely friendly staff, who always have a smile on their faces and strive to make every wish come true. Definitely 5 stars and worth the trip to Schierke every time! 🤩

I tried the shrimp strozzapreti at this Italian restaurant and it was simply amazing! The pasta was perfectly cooked, the shrimp fresh and delicious. A real treat for the senses – I’ll definitely be back! Thank you for the great food and excellent service!

Delicious! Really a nice Italian restaurant. Both the starters and the main courses are very appealing and tasty. The prices are pretty intense. But if you think about how much a pizza delivery service costs today, it puts it into perspective again.

The restaurant was not particularly full at the time we made our reservation in the evening, so we, two people, would have preferred not to sit directly next to another occupied table for two, as there were other tables for two available and no guests were added during our stay . Unfortunately our request was not granted. The waiter who took the order seemed listlessly looking forward to the end of the day and although the restaurant was relatively empty and there were only two of us, when he brought the food he no longer knew who had ordered what. The atmosphere was subsequently disturbed several times when something on the counter fell to the floor with a clatter. In addition, loud laughter could be heard constantly from another corner of the restaurant, something we would have expected in a pub. My pizza looked wonderful and actually tasted wonderful if it hadn't been for the partially black pizza base. Since I didn't feel like having evening discussions after a long vacation, I put a good face on the bad side. At a restaurant in this price range, we would have expected someone to come along every now and then and ask if everything was OK or if there was anything else we wanted. So we had the bill brought to us, which was then placed on the table without a word. Our “goodbye” as we left went unanswered. Sorry “Montevino”, but that was rubbish!!!

We were there quite early today and got a table for two even without a reservation. The pizzas and salad mista were very good. We were completely satisfied and will happily come back next time we are in the area.

We had booked a table weeks before, but our day turned out differently. We received a very friendly welcome even if we were there early. The boss immediately made it possible for us to stay. Thank you. The staff was also very helpful and answered every question patiently. This was our second visit and we can only recommend it and would be happy to come back.

In itself a beautifully constructed restaurant. Unfortunately, the ambience for us (two people) wasn't exactly intoxicating when we were brought to a table in the winter garden, where you don't really have the heaters and it gets a bit cold through the windows. About the operation: Well... You order a Spezi and a Sprite and you get two Spezi. Everything good can happen - happens. However, the waitress wasn't exactly chatty and the food was brought over rather emotionlessly (we probably didn't really know German), e.g.: No please or bon appetit. After all, the customer is king/should feel great, or so they say. The food itself: There was a pizza prosciutto that tasted absolutely good + ravioli spinaci e ricotta, which unfortunately didn't really taste aldente (ravioli weren't completely cooked through) + there wasn't much on the plate in terms of quantity. Especially for the price, which is around 20€ and you are usually used to an additional side dish for such a meal (pizza rolls, bruschetta, for example) Overall, unfortunately not recommended!!

The dishes were also excellent and perfectly balanced in terms of taste. Unfortunately, the overall very positive impression was marred by an unfriendly restaurant manager or owner who criticized his employees inappropriately in front of the guests. Unfortunately, such behavior is unacceptable and damages the otherwise excellent overall appearance.

Ordered a table weeks ago and explicitly mentioned that an older lady would be there. We (5) were seated at a table for 4 in the winter garden... it was icy cold on our legs. Never again. You just have to go there.

The food itself was okay and the positive thing is that the food was ready quickly. The only thing that bothered me was that they advertise Neapolitan pizza on the menu, even though it's a completely normal pizza like in any other pizzeria. Not a particularly fluffy edge, cheese just distributed normally, etc... Given the background, it was even more disappointing that they advertise with pictures (e.g. a real Neopolitan pizza), which they don't follow at all, which simply doesn't leave a good impression.

Sooo incredibly tasty and such a beautiful, tasteful restaurant. We will be back!
