The service was really great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. My husband's burger was very good. However, my solyanka wasn't really good; it tasted more like tomato soup. We'll still come back and try some other dishes.

Thank you for wonderful evenings and lovely breakfast moments. We dined here a total of four times, twice for breakfast and twice for dinner. The overall experience was excellent, in my opinion. The service was always attentive, exceptionally friendly, and customer-oriented. We loved the ambiance; we almost always had a table by one of the fireplaces, which was lovely. In the evenings, the lighting was pleasantly subdued and perfectly suited to the restaurant. We found the menu selection to be well-balanced, with something for everyone: meat, fish, and vegetarian options. The selection is very good, and in our opinion, it doesn't need to be any larger, as this might compromise the quality—which was good to very good. Among other things, we had braised beef cheeks in red wine jus, which were superb. We also enjoyed the chicken burger, the solyanka (which was fantastic!), and the sausage spiral with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, all excellent. We also had currywurst with fries, and overall, we were very satisfied. One evening, my daughter (7 years old) ordered the penne with tomato sauce, but she didn't like it, and it was almost cold... These things happen. She went to the waiter, told him, and placed a new order—this time currywurst :-) The service was incredibly responsive and friendly; it wasn't a problem at all, and the owner even sent word later that we wouldn't have to pay for the pasta. Very customer-oriented, and unfortunately, that's rare these days. So, a big thumbs up from us! We can also highly recommend the breakfast. The selection was well-balanced and plentiful. There were various fruits, local sausages, and cheeses in different varieties. There were also hot dishes like eggs, bacon, sausages, etc. The buffet wasn't the same every day, which I found very positive. Items were constantly being replenished, and if something was missing, we asked, and they took care of it immediately. So, full marks again for the fantastic team at Luis. We can also highly recommend the breakfast. Additional plus points for being dog-friendly and having a great indoor play area for kids. See you next time in the Harz Mountains :-)

Dinner at the lovely Restaurant Luis after a hike up the Brocken mountain – highly recommended. We had a wonderful meal, drinks, and conversation there today. Thank you, Petra and colleagues, for the prompt and very friendly service.

We were guests of the Schierke Harz Resort and visited Restaurant Luis three times for breakfast and twice for dinner. First off – the service is fantastic! Always friendly and always quick, yet discreetly attentive. Truly excellent! In our opinion, the breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. Everything was delicious and fresh! On our first evening, we had a reservation and were given a wonderful table with our dog (who was greeted just as warmly by all the staff as we were). We had the pork schnitzel and the "Goat" tarte flambée, and it was absolutely delicious! On our second evening, we came spontaneously after leaving another restaurant before even being seated, and we were immediately given a warm welcome and shown to a lovely table. On our second evening, we both had the beef burger – one of the best burgers we've ever eaten! Furthermore, I'd like to emphasize the truly lovely and cozy atmosphere in the restaurant. We felt very comfortable at all times. Thank you so much!

We had made a reservation online, received a warm welcome, and as we were being shown to our table, we were informed that the table was reserved for the next guests in 1.5 hours. Our warning that this would depend on the staff's speed was perfectly implemented in a pleasant, professional manner, from the moment we were seated to the moment we paid. The dishes served were appetizingly presented and delicious.

Excellent service, friendly and attentive, very limited selection, extremely long wait (40 minutes for a currywurst and chicken burger), mediocre food, cheeky/exaggerated value for money, hyped up for tourists: a chicken burger without any side dish for €16.90. There are many other, better options in town.

We stayed at the Harz Resort and treated ourselves to dinner there. It was truly fantastic. We've rarely eaten so well. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. And there was a delicious, small but varied breakfast buffet. There was something for every taste.

LUIS is the restaurant belonging to the Schierke Harz Resort. They offer a variety of dishes, from burgers to tarte flambée. We had several dishes, which were generally delicious. The only downside was the advertised dumpling fries. We, like everyone else, assumed they were fries made from potato dumpling dough. Especially since the neighboring state of Thuringia is famous for its potato dumplings, our assumption wasn't entirely wrong. When the fries finally arrived, we unfortunately discovered they were made from a type of bread dough. When we asked the staff about it, they confirmed that they were Bohemian dumplings, which consist of flour, water, and egg. So, we were actually getting fried breadsticks. I think it would be fair to point this out on the menu, since even Google searches for dumpling fries only return results made from potato dumpling dough, and customers are simply misled at this point. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was great too.

The food was delicious, and the service was excellent and attentive. Our children especially enjoyed the indoor playground. It made the wait for food much easier.

We had dinner at Restaurant Luís in Schierke and had a very pleasant experience overall, one that deserves four stars. The ambiance is modern and inviting, with a cozy atmosphere that's perfect for dinner after a day exploring the Harz Mountains. The stylish decor and the view of the surrounding nature give the restaurant a special charm. The food was truly delicious. We tried a selection of Harz specialties and a fish dish, both of which were beautifully presented. The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors came through nicely, although the fish dish was served a little cooler than we would have preferred—a minor flaw that didn't detract too much from the enjoyment. The menu offered a good variety, from hearty classics to lighter options. Unfortunately, there were no regional beers, which we missed a bit in a Harz restaurant, but the drinks selection was still solid. The service was friendly and attentive, even on a busy evening. The staff was responsive, patiently answered our questions about the menu, and gave us excellent recommendations. There were a few short waits, but given how busy it was, that was perfectly understandable. The prices were fair and reflected the quality and the touristy location in Schierke. Overall, Restaurant Luís is a highly recommended place for dinner in the Harz Mountains, especially for those who want to enjoy good food in a pleasant atmosphere. A wider selection of regional drinks would make it even better, but we'll definitely be back!

We were there with two children, ages 3 and 6. The food was delicious, and the ambiance was lovely. If the kids get bored, they can let off steam in the playroom or outside on the playground.

We ate there once and ordered the Lodgia once. Everything there was great. Very friendly and quick service (they even handled a brief bark from our dog very well). We had the braised beef cheeks, the goat cheese bowl, and the spinach tortelloni. Everything tasted delicious. The price-performance ratio was okay. For the Lodgia, we ordered the beef burger, the solyanka, and the vegan burger. The food arrived very quickly. The solyanka and the vegan burger were very tasty. I was only very disappointed with the beef burger. The patty was an industrially manufactured product. It was tasteless and inedible. I could only eat half the burger. For just under €20, that's a really poor deal, especially since patties are so easy to make. It's a shame, because I really enjoyed the beef cheeks.

The food we had on two evenings was really good. The higher price is partly justified. The homemade lemonade is also really tasty. Now for the drawbacks. Dinner is served in the breakfast room...which spoils the ambiance a bit. Also, dogs are allowed in the room, which you may or may not like...if the dog is fed tripe and is right at the next table and the smell puts me off eating, then that's annoying...perhaps they should pay more attention to ensuring that guests with dogs sit a little further away. I also find the motto "this is what the Harz tastes like" inappropriate when 90 percent of the drinks aren't regional and I therefore have to expect that the food doesn't come from the region. Also, there weren't really any typical regional dishes on the menu...then the slogan can and must be removed.

This review refers to the breakfast brunch. Unfortunately, there are no vegetarian or vegan options for breakfast. The selection is generally rather limited (there wasn't even any salami during our visit). I also don't know if, for €20 per person, they should offer orange nectar instead of orange juice. 3 stars because it was clean and the staff were friendly. But we wouldn't go back again.

Luis is a restaurant located at the Schierker holiday park. It has a rustic feel (a bit like an alpine pasture) with a fireplace, a seating area, and small tables with comfortable benches. The dishes are very regional and seasonal.

Unfortunately not. It was our first time there and we were relatively late. We noticed this both in the service and in the quality of the food. After an hour of waiting, a really nice conversation with a waitress, well-made drinks, and absolutely over-fried food that had to be canceled, we returned to the camper hungry. Nevertheless, we can imagine that the place is otherwise nice and tasty.

We were ignored despite having a reservation. We had reserved a table for 7 p.m., arrived 5 minutes early, and the table was free. Outside in the shade, everything was as expected. After 35 minutes, the first waitress came with a menu and left without taking our drinks. After 45 minutes, our drinks were taken and, with some patience, delivered. Unfortunately, it took 1.5 hours for the food to arrive. Other guests who arrived much later than us had already left (full). I tried dumpling fries for the first time, but apparently they're eaten lukewarm... the rest was okay. The second star is only because the head waitress at least tried to make amends.

Ambitious cuisine offering imaginative dishes on a short menu. However, the execution is a bit lacking. It's tasty, yes, but not particularly unusual. After a few bites, you don't expect much more. Staff are friendly, but understaffed. Despite the moderately busy restaurant, the wait time is longer than usual. The food, however, arrives suspiciously quickly. Okay for 'one' visit.

Unfortunately, my husband had to go home hungry; his burger and fries were so small that he still wasn't full even after eating the leftovers. My neck steak was tender, but felt underseasoned – like the rosemary potatoes. We had a chocolate cake for dessert, which looked very cheap and beautifully presented. To get another Coke, I tried to contact three waiters – was ignored three times – and we were sitting within sight of the counter..... Even trying to pay took three attempts.... There was a gentleman at the front desk who was really quick and attentive, but the waiters seemed somehow overwhelmed with the small number of people there. The restaurant had clean, sturdy high chairs, and we were immediately given art/craft supplies. Unfortunately, there were no parking spaces for short-term visitors, only for electric cars.

We ate at this wonderful restaurant two days in a row and were absolutely thrilled! Such great service and truly outstanding food. We ate there with our 11-month-old daughter, and everyone took such wonderful care of us and our little one. We'll definitely be back next time we visit Schierke!

I ate at Luis's during my Harz vacation, and I was so impressed. The inn was not far from our accommodation in Schierke, just a few minutes away. It was a very cozy dining room with a large terrace, a great playground right next door, and very dog-friendly. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the food itself was beautifully presented and very, very delicious...and truly plentiful. If you ever come to Schierke, you should definitely stop here!

If you'd like to have dinner in the Harz Mountains, you're welcome to stop by here. Prices are generally slightly higher, probably due to tourism, but everything is delicious. Overall, we enjoyed it.

Stopped in after a hike. The food was delicious, but the portions were much too large for us women. The older ladies serving were very nice and attentive, as was the young woman who brought the food. One note: The sign indicating that you're allowed to park on the resort grounds needs to be bigger 🤣 We only noticed it as we walked past.

The menu was incredibly interesting. Some of the dishes were "simple" with unique ingredients. There's something for everyone. Our food was excellent. It couldn't be better. Probably the best restaurant in Schierke if you're not looking for Italian. The food is of very high quality! Reservations are usually required in the evenings. Unfortunately, a seat in the far corner isn't served regularly. But it's all in moderation; you won't be forgotten.

A great restaurant in Schierke. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our order was taken, drinks were served, and less than half an hour later, our delicious dinner arrived. Plenty and, as I said, very tasty. Be sure to reserve a table! On our visit, a Friday evening and raining, the restaurant was very busy inside. Despite that, the service was quick, which was great. If the weather is nice, you can also sit outside. The holiday complex is right next door. I had neck steaks with fries. The best neck steaks I've eaten so far. There was also chicken breast with porcini mushroom ravioli and tarte flambée. Everything perfect and delicious. But the “dumpling pyre” was a poem! If we are nearby, we will stop there again. Addendum 04/27/25 During a hiking tour we passed Luis again and stopped there. The food was as good as last time. We were served by Selina. Super nice and very attentive. We can only recommend the restaurant.
