A very good restaurant. Very friendly staff, excellent service, and the kitchen did an excellent job. We have nothing to complain about and can recommend it. With that in mind, thank you very much...

I don't really recommend this restaurant. The Viennese veal schnitzel tasted extremely musty. The outdoor seating is nice. However, the chef took something out of the cold storage room, which is located between the kitchen and the terrace, spilled it all over the floor, and then tried to clean it up with a watering can. Since the terrace slopes, all the dirty water flowed to our table and onto our shoes. The service was nice, but slow. But the fries were good ;) All in all, there are much better restaurants in Wernigerode.

A highly recommended restaurant with attentive and friendly service and truly delicious food. I ordered the Harzer schnitzel with spiced meat, mushrooms, and baked with cheese. Since I hadn't eaten all day, I opted for the 400g version. The portion was accordingly generous. The fries were also really good. I should also mention that the restaurant is closed on Sundays (!).

My only criticism: the spicy meat unfortunately contains mushrooms... Leave them out, and it would be perfect! Fun group, good atmosphere

This is my second time at Schnitzelhaus – once with my husband and this time with the kids. Both visits were absolutely worth it. The food was incredibly delicious, the meat was incredibly tender, and the kids especially raved about the fries. 😊 We had to wait a bit for the food to arrive – but since there was a large tour group in the beer garden at the same time, that's understandable. All in all: very good food, a nice atmosphere, and we'll definitely be back a third time!

This hotel offers food for walk-in customers under the name "Schnitzelhaus". There is also a signposted beer garden. My wife and our three children were attracted by the terminology and assumed our children could eat the food they had bought next door there (beer garden). We were given a warm welcome, and it was easy to see that our children had their hands full. We sat down to choose something from the menu. Meanwhile, the children opened their children's meal boxes and started eating. After a 15-minute wait, the waitress appeared. Instead of taking our order, she firmly pointed out that no food brought from outside was allowed to be eaten there. This was a bit confusing to us. Everyone should form their own opinion. We then spent €120 at the shop next door 🤷🏼‍♂️

We could only sit inside; the chairs outside were wet. There was a high chair and a changing mat, which was very helpful! Unfortunately, they didn't tell us beforehand that you pay per 100ml of wine. And you immediately get 200ml, very pricey! The food was delicious, but unfortunately the schnitzels were fried; they taste much better pan-fried. Luckily, they weren't tough, and the fries were fantastic!

Unfortunately, I can't. When I go to a schnitzel restaurant, I expect at least freshly made schnitzel, not frozen stuff from the deep fryer! Perhaps they should have pointed that out, or I would have left!

We wanted a delicious lunch. We were disappointed. The menu is slimmed down at lunchtime. We opted for schnitzel because it's supposed to be so good. Hmm, unfortunately, we were very disappointed. To us, it was schnitzel from the freezer. Dry and tasteless. I would never eat there again. I don't understand where all the great pictures of the delicious schnitzels come from. Maybe they cook fresh in the evening.

I would go again. The service seemed a bit rushed, though. But that was probably just the mood of the day.

It was our first time there and we'll definitely be back! Despite a packed crowd and the lovely atmosphere, we got our food quickly! It was preceded by a delicious salad. My wife had the 200g schnitzel and I had the 400g. The 400g is practically a double portion for those with a big appetite! It was delicious, and the service was very friendly and frequent. One of the best restaurants I have been to in Germany. This is specifically recommended for schnitzel. Awesome taste. Very good service. Good atmosphere and right in the centre of the city. After which you can take a walk in the city Center. Must go. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend this restaurant because everything is so harmonious. The service is prompt, and the ambiance isn't over the top. It's all about feeling at home.

I had high expectations, and they were exceeded. We didn't have a reservation, so I called spontaneously, as the restaurant was only a 10-minute walk from our vacation apartment. Location: We sat outside, and the large umbrellas provided plenty of shade. Some of the seating was on chairs and some on benches. Very fitting for an old distillery! Service: A-grade! Digitization was superbly implemented. While the order was just being completed, the drinks arrived – entered into the tablet, they were already prepared while we ordered the food! In general, the three ladies had the crowded garden under control! It never took long; there was always someone available. Food: Top-notch. As a Brandenburg native who now lives near the North Sea, I miss a classic schnitzel "au four," as it's often called in the East. Here, it's the Brockenschnitzel that takes over. Available in 200g or 400g (schnitzel! Plus seasoned meat). The schnitzel was delicious, tender, and had a good, airy coating! The seasoned meat was delicious and plentiful, and there was plenty of cheese! The fries were nice and crispy, but not rock-hard. Perfect for me! I also ordered hollandaise sauce to dip the fries in. So, in short, for me, the meal was perfect! I don't know what could be better. A small disappointment: even I, a normally very good eater, couldn't finish the 400g portion. I had a bite left over. If I'm ever in the area again, I, or we, will definitely come back! Even if it means a detour!

The service was very unfriendly; the second, very friendly one could barely salvage it. The schnitzels were mostly inedible and mass-produced. The chicken schnitzels seemed to be made of rubber. The price was far too high for the poor quality.

Because the beer garden is located in a courtyard, you can hear the – already sparse – traffic in Wernigerode's old town. From the outside, the restaurant looks a bit unassuming. But it's cozy inside too (if you want to go to the beer garden, you have to go through the restaurant). The schnitzels are large and crispy breaded. The other dishes are also delicious, well presented, and you'll definitely be full after eating there.

I absolutely do not recommend it. Thin schnitzels consisting mostly of breading or very old potatoes as an ingredient of the dish. For the restaurant price, you get food like from a second-rate canteen. A plus is the lack of stomach sensations.

We ate there on May 8th, 2025. From the outside we thought Schnitzelhaus was okay, but we were absolutely positively surprised. We hadn't made a reservation, but we were greeted very friendly and shown to the table. The restaurant is decorated completely differently than you would expect from a schnitzel house. The toilets are very clean, I think that says a thing or two about a restaurant. The furnishings are very modern and an appealing ambience is created. The staff was attentive and friendly not only when entering the restaurant, but throughout the entire time. The food also tasted very good. We had stuffed cabbage and a neck steak with ham, cranberries and cheese gratinated. Since I had the neck steak, I can say that you could taste all the components. There was even an extra knife with my dish. All in all, we were very positively surprised in all respects and would not have expected it when we stood in front of the restaurant.

We were at the Schnitzelhaus during asparagus season in May. The restaurant was relatively empty for Friday lunchtime, we ate inside, but there is also a beer garden in the courtyard. Unfortunately, the service wasn't very friendly and wasn't very attentive. The asparagus was relatively hard, but the schnitzel tasted very good. It was okay to eat there once.
