VOI - Bar e Cuisine in Hannover

Our visit to "Voi" was involuntary – and unfortunately, it turned into a considerable disappointment. We were referred here by the supposed partner restaurant "05Elf" because they couldn't honor our confirmed reservation for 10 people due to a private event. They hadn't informed us beforehand that the reservation wouldn't be honored. Upon arriving at "Voi," we discovered that, contrary to what 05Elf had told us, our reservation hadn't been forwarded to them. Since we couldn't find an alternative at such short notice for such a large group on a Saturday evening, we had no choice but to stay. In our opinion, the manager was unable to organize a suitable solution in a timely manner. After about 20 minutes, we were finally given a makeshift table made of outdoor and indoor furniture, placed in the far corner of the restaurant. In this corner, we were repeatedly overlooked or forgotten by the staff. After ordering, all the dishes were served – except for one. The last dish took about 20 minutes longer, by which time the other guests' food was already cold. This incident strikes us as a clear case of organizational mismanagement and inadequate service. The service staff offered no apology or attempt to make amends at any point. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this restaurant.

Food is Verry good, and top service

A beautifully decorated restaurant. However, absolutely nothing went right that evening. The service was incredibly clueless, and it took forever for the food to arrive. The dishes were okay, but nothing special. Definitely not good value for money.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience on Tuesday afternoon. The pancakes with caviar were cold and didn't taste good even after several attempts. Furthermore, I was charged for a Prosecco Rosé that I didn't even drink. Very disappointing.

Disaster! Very expensive for little and poor-quality food. Five slices of carpaccio for 23 euros. A fillet with mashed potatoes that was almost impossible to cut. Very poor service.

We ate at VOI today and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was incredibly delicious, super fresh, and truly top-notch in terms of flavor. The atmosphere was pleasant, modern, and cozy all at once. A big thank you also goes to our contact person, Sedat. He was extremely friendly, attentive, gave excellent advice, and was immediately available whenever we needed anything. That's exactly the kind of service you want! We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

The restaurant is comfortably furnished, and we received a friendly welcome. How can you have only one or two vegetarian dishes on an entire menu and not a single vegan option? The pasta was probably cooked in oil instead of water and then smothered in pesto. In fact, the pasta tasted almost exclusively of oil, and you couldn't even taste the pesto. The baked potato was more like a boiled potato that had been painted to create the illusion of a crust. The corn on the cob was also a disappointment. It wasn't nicely grilled or seasoned. The other dishes, like the baked potato and pasta, clearly hadn't seen salt.

Hello everyone :) First of all, I'm a young, relaxed guy from Switzerland who was planning a nice evening with his girlfriend. I'm not someone who generally writes reviews or even gives negative feedback because he's frustrated in life :-D . It really takes a lot, believe me. In short: 1 week before the reservation/our arrival in Hanover, we contacted via Instagram/email and finally, just to be absolutely sure, by phone, to reserve a nice/romantic table with some decorations. (I also wanted to pay for it if it would have been too much effort, of course.) For a special evening. I could see in the reservation book that this had been noted, as I had requested. But then we were seated somewhere in the aisle, with no sign of decorations anywhere, and apart from the waiter who brought us to the table, who was noticeably uncomfortable without saying a word, no one seemed to care. The lady in black—who would normally have been responsible for the instructions—simply walked away in a completely disrespectful manner after I very politely explained my disappointment. No apology, nothing. No good evening beforehand. No hello. Nothing. She did this twice and didn't even ask if we wanted something to eat or drink. It was just incredibly unpleasant and unprofessional. They could have simply said sorry, resolved the whole thing quickly and coolly, done the decorating in a hurry, and the matter would have been settled. Maybe even offered us a drink instead. All in all, poorly trained, young staff that evening (and that only refers to the staff who served us!), who seemed overwhelmed and absolutely did not match the price level of the restaurant or what the restaurant wants to represent. We left the restaurant without eating, so I can't comment on the food, and I'm convinced the people in the kitchen are doing a good job. The staff up front were a disaster.

Two days ago, I visited this cafe – and it was the worst experience I've ever had. The interior initially seemed pleasant, but that was where all the positives ended. The waiter didn't know the menu and couldn't explain anything. The food arrived with enormous delays: one person received cold spaghetti after 15 minutes, three others after an hour and a half (also cold), and the fifth person didn't receive their meal at all. The cutlery wasn't brought to us for 10 minutes, and one set was so dirty that we had to ask for replacements. After the waiter took the cold dishes away "to be warmed up," they never came back. In the end, we sat there for over two hours – hungry and annoyed. We even had to wait 20 minutes for the bill for the drinks until we were told the receipt was lost and asked what we had drunk. It was sheer mockery. Conclusion: I've never experienced such poor service. Wasted time, ruined the mood. Absolutely not recommended!

I can only agree with the previous and new comments. At first, the interior was really nice, but then it stopped. Two sides of steak were unavailable on a Saturday evening. When ordering, two dishes were completely forgotten and only delivered an hour later when asked. No "sorry," no "how was it?"—nothing. More show than substance. Definitely not going back.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at this restaurant. I was initially thrilled with the ambiance – unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The appetizer was served to us at a table we weren't even seated at, as we wanted to enjoy our aperitif on the terrace first. When we asked, all we got was "Table 5." How are guests supposed to know which table they meant? It was simply the table where our food was already sitting. My appetizer, a buffalo caprese, was disappointing – the buffalo mozzarella tasted very bitter and unpleasant on the tongue. For the main course, king salmon, we were told when we ordered that there was no fennel. That was fine with me. However, it wasn't just the fennel that was missing, but several important components of the entire dish, making the salmon seem very poorly prepared. Overall, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant. As the saying goes: You can't fill yourself up on beautiful plates alone.

Three of us visited on a Sunday. The reservation was easy and confirmed quickly. The restaurant is beautifully designed both inside and out. Very modern spaces and a beautiful interior. The stylishly designed bar is particularly striking. Unfortunately, ordering and subsequent serving took a bit too long. But the sushi was definitely worth it. Very beautifully presented and the taste was truly outstanding. The restrooms were fine. The central sink is particularly nice. Overall, I can recommend the restaurant for business lunches, family, and friends. I saw that they also have a beautifully designed group room, which is definitely good for larger celebrations. If you want good sushi, this is definitely the place for you.

We visited this restaurant last week, and while I normally do not write reviews, I feel compelled to share our experience to warn future customers. My husband ordered the sea bass, but what he received looked and tasted like a low-quality frozen fish. We strongly doubt it was actually sea bass. I ordered the grilled seafood platter, which turned out to be nothing more than a plate full of overcooked surimi. Surimi is an industrial fish paste with artificial crab flavoring, and surimi is NOT a seafood. The dish also included a piece of salmon - which is also NOT seafood but a fish - and a couple of mussels that were so overcooked and rubbery that it was impossible to tell how they had been prepared (quite possibly reheated in a microwave). The rest of the plate resembled a boiled mix of unidentifiable ingredients. Nothing was grilled, as advertised. The presentation and quality were frankly appalling, and the food was inedible. This is not only unacceptable but also disrespectful to paying customers. Even a beginner at home would attempt to do better. While the waitress did her best and offered alternatives, after receiving dishes of this standard, there was no interest in trying anything else. The dish was sent back to the kitchen and at least we did not pay for this thing. If a restaurant wishes to present itself as “fine dining,” it should at least employ a competent chef or staffs and ensure the dishes reflect what is advertised on the menu. Furthermore, displaying pictures on the menu that look nothing like the food served is misleading at best, and dishonest at worst. The gap between expectation and reality was shocking. In conclusion: the food was disgraceful, the experience unacceptable, and I strongly advise others to reconsider before dining here.

The restaurant is definitely an eye-catcher. The service was also good. Unfortunately, my rib eye was very tough and stringy, so I returned it and got a second appetizer instead. Both appetizers were very good.

Chic place – albeit a bit too big in my opinion. The sushi was really good. Unfortunately, the service was a disaster. We were never asked if we wanted anything else to drink, even though our glasses were empty. We always had to run to the counter to get a waiter – not exactly a relaxing experience for a peaceful meal, given the size of the place. They also never asked if we wanted anything else (not even for dessert). The advertised 20% discount was ignored, and when I asked if it was possible to apply it, the waiter said he didn't know how and I should contact the manager – but he wasn't there. No one has responded to my inquiry via the contact form for two weeks. Unfortunately, this isn't how you can retain customers, despite the good food.

My salad was okay (chicken salad), I would have chosen a different one next time (lots of rice in it). But that's a matter of taste! Water was incredibly expensive. €7.50 or so for a bottle of water is crazy. They made a mistake when paying, and they charged too much, but it was corrected after mentioning it. I personally don't like that kind of thing; I just want to unwind. The atmosphere was nice. The outdoor seating is great.

The place looks really chic and makes you want to spend a nice evening. Reading the menu makes your mouth water. I couldn't believe the food even came close to what it promises. The answer is clear: Chapeau. Excellent food. Plus, the portions are really generous. In addition to oysters, sailfish, and perfect meat, the menu also features sushi creations that you won't find anywhere else. You can even get dishes with gold leaf. I had a very good meal, received very good service, and ended up paying surprisingly little for it. I'd be happy to come back.

My mashed potatoes were unseasoned and arrived cold, and the demi-glace with the rump steak was a barbecue sauce—also cold—from a tube. For a total of €120 (3 drinks, 3 meals), the value for money isn't good. However, the service was very friendly and attentive. The store looks really nice. I made a reservation just the day before Valentine's Day at 5:13 PM. About two hours later, I received an email with the subject "Cancellation" and the content: "One of the products you ordered is no longer available." The appointment time was freely selectable on the website. The email doesn't contain any other appointment suggestions, etc., just that the appointment has been canceled. I think this could be better.

Our first visit shortly after opening was simply fantastic. After the appearance on the TV show, there were adjustments to the menu, so we visited VOI again. It was immediately noticeable that the service had deteriorated considerably. Our waiter didn't speak a single word of German or English, and we had to point to the menu to find what we wanted. Given the prices, this was unacceptable for us. The drinks weren't exactly what we ordered. A third visit (at the invitation of a friend) confirmed this impression. This time, there were no communication problems, but the glasses and cutlery were dirty, and we had to be very patient before being served. In conclusion, we won't give VOI a fourth chance, as in our experience, you're better off walking distance to Kouro or HeimW.

At first glance, it appears to be a wild mix of Italian and Turkish/Russian cuisine. Very creative dishes, something different. Great selection and a variety of flavors. Good selection of cocktails, and all of them were good. Service takes a long time, and we also waited a long time for our food. The burger was quite small. Unfortunately, no one came by to ask if we wanted another drink—and the place wasn't even half full. The prices are high, but unfortunately, the service doesn't reflect that.

We celebrated our daughter's 18th birthday at Voi and were very happy to have chosen this restaurant. With 10 people, we were a large group. Despite that, everything went smoothly; even a last-minute upgrade in the number of people and an additional birthday cake order were no problem. The service was excellent; we felt at home. The food and drinks were all more than satisfactory. We would go back anytime. Highly recommended.

Modern and trendy interior, with large spaces and high ceilings. Fusion cuisine, with Asian specialties (Azerbaijan?). Good quality of materials and well cooked. What's not to like...: - the tourist menu, with fast food-style photos; - practically non-existent wine list; - out of order draft beer, only Moretti bottled beer, only two bottles because on the second round Croatian beer; - unacceptably long service, even though the place was not very crowded we waited more than an hour for the first course, another hour for the second... (also out of 4 courses, the fourth was served after twenty minutes...). It's a shame because the food seems good, excellent lamb tartare and also duck breast.

Stay away from this place! First impressions are deceptive. It looks great from the outside! The service is abysmal! There were three of us alone in the restaurant, and we waited at least 20 minutes for our drinks. The staff weren't unfriendly, but they were very inattentive. They don't know their own menu. We were served a dish that was half missing. Only when we asked them about it was they replied, "We're out of ingredients." Hanover has more to offer than that!

We ordered three dishes, one of which was sushi. After waiting for 45 minutes for our food, we received a message saying the sushi wasn't available. When I chose something else, the food arrived after 15 minutes. The other two dishes, however, had obviously been kept warm the entire time. Not freshly prepared! The bread for my antipasti platter was out of a bag. None of us have ever been so disappointed by a restaurant where you pay around €20 per dish. We agree with the other reviews about more show than substance!

Edit: The restaurant's response fits the picture. First, pretend to be a liar instead of reflecting. Yes, it sounds unbelievable, but that's exactly how it happened. Maybe they're just remembering last week, or maybe they still haven't found the broken chair at the window table in the corner. Looks great on the outside, but yucky on the inside! An absolute nightmare and the most unspeakable experience in over 30 years. A chair collapsed when we put our jackets on it (yes, that's right, the JACKET!). We ended up sitting right at the next table, which was sticky and everything, including the chair, was covered in crumbs. We then moved again. No one, neither staff nor the "boss," was interested in at least removing the broken chair, and everyone must have seen it. We waited almost an hour for two dishes even though hardly anyone was there. The first watery wheat beer of my life didn't help the wait. The first dish arrived 6 minutes before the second. The second set of cutlery arrived another 4 minutes later. The two waitresses were unprofessional and flippant. They didn't provide accurate information about the ingredients (a poor menu overloaded with huge pictures and no information at all). Despite repeatedly asking about an intolerance, we were practically talked into ordering a dish with garlic (supposedly without garlic. "Oh well, otherwise it's on the menu."). We had to argue with two waitresses all the way to the manager when the dish arrived practically drenched in garlic. One waitress said beforehand, "Better not the manager, he's weird sometimes." What kind of situation is this? Further discussion with the manager finally resulted in the dish (always pre-marinated in garlic, according to the manager) being taken back. The second dish was dry and bland - every doner kebab, in comparison, is a flavor explosion, but at €7, it costs only a third of that. When asked for the bill, I said that of course we wouldn't pay for one of the dishes (you shouldn't have to say that, since you hadn't eaten ANYTHING from it, but better safe than sorry). Lo and behold: we receive the "bill" without comment, without a list of the dishes, but with the total price including the meal. It's sad that the math helped here – as a guest, you have to be able to trust. This has nothing to do with gastronomy – you can guess where the 5-star reviews come from. Avoid at all costs!

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the breakfast. We had reserved a table for 10am. The store supposedly opens at 9 a.m. We stood in front of a locked door at 9:55 a.m. Everything was dark. At 10 a.m. an employee came and opened the door and said we could sit wherever we wanted. Almost all the tables were sticky and dirty and apparently hadn't been wiped down from the day before. We ordered breakfast for two. Then he said that the chef is not there but walked away. We wondered whether we would get food or not. The waiter was gone and we were alone. Nobody asked if it could be coffee or something similar. After 20 minutes he showed up again and we were able to order coffee. Unfortunately, the breakfast wasn't particularly tasty either. The waiter could hardly explain to us what was on the plate. The grapes were soggy. Instead of a selection of cheese and sausage, there was only one cheese that we didn't like and there was no sausage at all. Even when asked, they just said it was out. All in all, not a nice breakfast, although there was a bakery right next to it, there were no rolls. The service was horrible.
