Es war ein wundervoller Abend. Das Essen war ein Traum und die Getränke wurden ausreichend in einem Kühlschrank zum selber nehmen angeboten. Wir haben uns gefühlt als wären wir auf einer kulinarischen Reise. Ich denke dieses Gefühl sollte immer so sein. Wir werden aufjedenfall wiederkommen!!!

Super leckeres Essen, kleine feine Auswahl für jeden ist was dabei, gute Essensgrößen mit frischen Zutaten, sehr zu empfehlen

Bei Mamas ist es einfach immer schön. Das Restaurant ist schlicht und unaufregend, aber genau das macht seinen Charm aus. Es fühlt sich jedesmal ein bisschen an wie nach Hause kommen. Die beiden sind unfassbar lieb und das Essen so gut, dass wir regelmäßig mit viel zu vollen Buchen raus kommen.

Mama Edith und Patrick sind die Besten, und ihr Mapo Tofu ist einfach himmlisch! Einer unserer Lieblingsorte in Hannover, wahrscheinlich sogar in dieser ganzen Ecke des Universums.

Ich würde am liebsten mehr als 5 Sterne vergeben, wenn ich könnte, für den tollen Service und die wunderbare Atmosphäre. Mama Ediths Gastfreundschaft war einfach großartig; es fühlte sich an, als würde man eine alte Freundin zum Abendessen besuchen. Sie war so herzlich, freundlich und humorvoll! Zufällig trafen wir während unseres Besuchs noch eine andere Malaysierin, und die Stimmung war an diesem Abend beim Essen sogar noch schöner. Das war definitiv das Highlight unseres spontanen Besuchs in Hannover!

Ein kleines, verstecktes Juwel am Engelbosteler Damm. Authentisches, unglaublich leckeres Essen und Gastgeber, die einen sofort willkommen heißen. Man fühlt sich fast wie im eigenen Wohnzimmer. Absolute Empfehlung.

Ich kann leider die ganzen sehr positiven Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Ich hatte ziemlich hohe Erwartungen, weil es sehr familiär und authentisch wirkt. Auch der Laden ist wirklich süß gestaltet und dekoriert. Aber am Ende kommt es für mich aufs Essen an. Die Tofuportion war eigentlich ganz gut, aber die Menge an Reis war wirklich sehr klein (siehe Bild). Dafür ist der Preis aus meiner Sicht zu hoch und für eine zusätzliche Portion Reis nochmal extra zahlen zu müssen, finde ich ehrlich gesagt etwas frech. Eine Art Refill-Option wäre hier schön gewesen. Der Service war okay, aber Getränke musste man sich selbst holen. Wir hatten einmal Tofu süß-sauer und Tofu an fünf Gewürzen. Im Grunde das gleiche nur mit unterschiedlichen Saucen. Die waren lecker, aber nichts Besonderes. Insgesamt hat es mich leider nicht überzeugt, vor allem in Bezug auf den Preis. Ich würde nicht wiederkommen. Schade

Wer authentisch Asiatisch essen möchte muss unbedingt Mamas Kitchen besuchen. Edith und Patrick sind mit was das angeht einer der besten Restaurants in ganz Hannover. Ich bestelle jedesmal Crispy Chicken und die Portionen sind Mega ausreichend und außerdem Mega lecker 🤤

Besonders ... Mama's Kitchen ist das Konzept. Mama steht in der Küche und Papa kümmert sich um die Gäste. Kleine, besondere Karte. Nix für jeden Tag, aber einen Besuch wert :-)

Mama`s Kitchen ist das beste Restaurant in ganz Hannover. Das Essen ist einfach zu lecker und ich Versuche jeden Freund hier mit hinzunehmen. Die beiden Besitzer sind auch super freundlich. Mit einem Besuch kann man überhaupt nichts falsch machen.

Wir kommen regelmäßig gerne vor Konzerten hierher. Das Essen schmeckt immer sehr gut. Service ist Top , das Ambiente eher schlicht, aber völlig in Ordnung. Online-Reservierung ist unbedingt ratsam und funktioniert ohne Probleme. Dieses kleine feine asiatische Restaurant gehört weiterhin zu Hannovers Geheimtipps. Bis zum nächsten Mal 👍

Authentisches Hongkong-Erlebnis in Hannover. Die Besitzer sind waschechte Hongkonger mit dem typischen Hongkong-Geschmack! Das Essen ist wirklich gut und traditionell.

Jedes Mal, wenn ich Hannover besuche, gehe ich zu Mama’s Kitchen, um mir etwas Leckeres zu gönnen. Als Hongkongerin erinnern mich das Essen und die Menschen hier sehr an meine Heimat. Jedes Gericht hier ist ein Muss und absolut empfehlenswert. Meine persönlichen Favoriten sind Char Siu, Mapo Tofu, das gebratene Hähnchen und das süß-saure Schweinefleisch. Ich empfehle nur vier davon, damit die Leser der Kommentare die anderen Köstlichkeiten selbst entdecken können. Ich kann einen Besuch nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Wir waren spontan vor einem Konzert dort und waren positiv überrascht. Von aussen eher unscheinbar, von innen ungewöhnlicher, zusammengewürfelter Mix. Das Essen war super und erfreulich günstig. Hat wirklich authentisch asiatisch Geschmeckt und auch die freundliche Bedienung war mit den Stäbchen hilfsbereit... wieder was gelernt. Getränke holt man sich selber und im Hintergrund brutzelt die Chefin selbst am Herd. Es war alles sehr lecker, beim nächsten Konzert gerne wieder.

Dieser Ort ist wie Hannover: Niemand kennt seine wahre Schönheit. Wer sie kennt, sollte sie für sich behalten ;) Das Essen ist außergewöhnlich, die Atmosphäre fühlt sich an wie im Wohnzimmer der Besitzer. Mama Edith kam sogar persönlich vorbei, um nach uns zu sehen. Ein wirklich besonderes Konzept. Ich freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch. Wir hatten die BBQ-Rippchen (riesige Portion, köstliche Soße) und Mapo Tofu (sehr authentischer Geschmack).

A lovely little gem. You sit as if you were in a private living room, and the hostess, Mom, cooks for you. Dad brings it to your table. There are only six or eight tables inside. The selection is small but fine, and the food is delicious. Please get your own drink from the fridge and help yourself. And you don't have to endure Asian Muzak from blaring speakers; instead, tasteful jazz plays quietly and with a good sound. And the food is fantastic. And the appetizer alone was worth stopping by. My daughter and I both thought so. It's an insider tip. And: Feel free to try the things you wouldn't normally order.

On Saturday, September 27, 2025, I went to this restaurant with my family, and we had a racist and absolutely unacceptable experience. The owner himself, upon seeing us (my husband and mother-in-law are Black), immediately put up a sign stating that we could only enter with reservations. When we left, he immediately removed the sign. He didn't even speak German to us, but rather in his native language, and gestured to us not to come in. An owner who discriminates against people like this doesn't deserve any customers. Black and white people are equal. Stop this discrimination.

An extremely unpleasant experience. The restaurant was completely empty. The three of us wanted to have a drink there and were rudely sent away with the explanation that we couldn't just have a drink there. We could go to the kiosk. Unfortunately, the kiosk was packed with drunk bums, not the kind of company we'd want. Well, if Mom doesn't want our money, then so be it. Nobody needs that kind of food.

From start to finish, the visit was a true highlight! From the moment you entered the restaurant, you were warmly welcomed. The service was not only attentive and even professional, but exuded a friendliness you would normally only find in fine dining. But here, it was authentic and authentic! Every question about the food was happily answered and accompanied by appropriate advice. The meal was an absolute delight. Each dish was prepared with attention to detail and tasted simply magnificent. Everything was fresh, perfectly balanced, and simply delicious. Above all, the remarkable freshness of all the ingredients justifies every price, which is almost cheap even for that price! Considering "normal" prices, what you get for your money here is more than good value. And for a starter, a main course, and two drinks, €30 is really cheap. What was particularly impressive was how harmonious the entire experience was: excellent service, great cuisine, and an atmosphere where you simply can't help but feel at home. A place you'd not only recommend, but one you'd definitely want to visit again. Magnificent – in every respect!

I've heard so much about it, yet I only went there for the first time yesterday. What a gem: quite unassuming from the outside, but with the charm of the small, good food stalls of Southeast Asia. I had a char siu... and what a gem: I haven't eaten anything comparable in Germany in terms of quality. Simply fantastic 😍👍 The meal began with a delicious, typical Chinese chicken soup and crispy wontons. My companion had the vegetable stir-fry. I have to say, however, that this was more like a vegetable soup, but to be fair, I also have to mention that it consisted of very fresh and high-quality vegetables. It could have perhaps used a bit more flavor, but it was still very tasty. The absolute best thing, however, is Mama Edith and Papa Patrick! What kind-hearted people; we felt like we were at home with good friends. After dinner, I was able to philosophize about Asian cuisine with my mom. I cook a lot of Thai food myself, and we had a lively exchange. A truly wonderful place and an insider tip. We'll definitely be back soon. The small but delicious menu has to be tried at least once in its entirety! Hopefully, this wonderful gem will stay with us for a long time to come!

I just made one observation: Lately I've been spending around 40-50 euros in almost all restaurants, but you don't get anything special in terms of quantity - that's noticeable. Discovered this restaurant by chance. It is a small, cozy restaurant where the guest can not only enjoy the delicious food but also the hospitality. The BBQ was incredibly good and the service from “mama” personally was incredibly friendly. Will definitely come back

Having spent some years of my life in Macau, I did not expect to get an authentic experience of cantonese cuisine in Hannover. Mama's Kitchen is a small restaurant, where we can enjoy a delicious cantonese meal, cooked as it would be "at home" by a lovely couple from Hong Kong. To compare with the Parisian chinatown (13th arrondissement), where there are many asian restaurants that I have tried, I think the quality of the food in Mama's kitchen is much better!

Don't be fooled by the fact that you might think it's a snack bar. But it is a real restaurant with a manageable but extremely varied menu. The service is loving and familiar. We were thrilled with the taste and would go there again if we had the chance.

Highly recommended restaurant to taste typical Hong Kong cuisine in Hanover. Very familiar atmosphere, almost like a small home. The restaurant is run by a polite and friendly couple from Hong Kong. The dishes are prepared by the lady who offers authentic dishes. Fair prices and good selection, including many vegan dishes. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. I am very biased when it comes to Chinese cuisine. I worked in Hong Kong for a while and was almost constantly a guest of my colleagues and their families. Ergo, I was treated almost constantly to local specialties and very good cuisine. After my time in Hong Kong, I actually only experienced such good cuisine again, in Mama's Kitchen here in Hanover. You can get Euro-Asian food everywhere and on every corner, even the "good" restaurants or those that think they are don't cook very authentically. At some point I read that Mom was offering Hong Kong cuisine in the northern city, my curiosity was piqued, I told my wife and we tried it. And what can I say, we eat there more or less regularly or take something home with us. I wrote this review of my own free will and without receiving anything in return, simply because I believe it. Of course I can write a lot, so my suggestion is to go by, it's best to reserve in advance and try it out for yourself and let yourself be inspired.

The best meal I've eaten in a long time. The owners are super nice and the place is really cute. I ordered the Mapo Tofu; the tofu was as tender as silk and the whole dish was delicious and pleasantly spicy. My friend got the chicken; I tried a piece of it and it was really, really good. In any case, after the experience I spent several hours talking to my friends about the good food. 20/10 Best Asian food in my life.

The best restaurant in Hanover! Eggplant with beef was delicious, but the mapo tofu was unbeatable. Everything I've ever tried about Mapo Tofu has been wrong - this is the only real thing! The owner is incredibly friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant is also very pleasant. A place I definitely want to visit regularly.

The food was delicious, it really is mom's food, it warms your soul from within and it is made and served with a lot of love. I recommend it 100%. I ordered eggplant with meat on the menu. Everything was exquisite, the portions are generous.

I had a wonderful evening at Mama's Kitchen in Hanover this evening. A simple but very friendly atmosphere, extremely delicious food and such lovely owners made the evening totally complete. Somehow it goes really well with the fact that you get the drinks yourself from the fridge. We immediately implemented the good advice and ordered many different dishes, which we then ate as a group. A wonderful journey through Hong Kong cuisine.

Where should I even start?! Yesterday we spontaneously went out to eat at Mama's Kitchen and we were more than thrilled! We received such an incredibly warm welcome and were served just as warmly. The food was a 12/10! Before eating, the nice lady explained to us exactly what we were ordering and what to expect in terms of taste, so that we weren't suddenly surprised by a different taste that we might not have expected. The food (we took the menu) came very quickly and was more than sufficient (we rolled out afterwards). Everything was really delicious too! Card payment was possible without any problems and you were allowed to choose a small piece of jewelry from a box - I have never experienced that in any store before and it was a very, very nice gesture! We recommend this restaurant from the bottom of our hearts and will definitely come back ❤️

First, I would like to emphasize that the owners of this restaurant seemed very polite and friendly at first impression. However, access to the toilets is only allowed for guests who have ordered something (which you can understand, but doesn't necessarily have to understand...?!) As new customers, we received a €2 discount as well as two candies, which was after the average meal left a positive impression. Despite everything, we didn't think the food was value for money. The food was okay, but in our opinion it didn't justify the high price. For this reason we would not come to Mamas's Kitchen again. The restaurant could still be of interest to tourists who are willing to pay a higher price for average food and appreciate a little attention and free sweets. With this experience, we think Mama’s Kitchen has stuck with us for our tastes. We would like to thank you for the good service and food and wish the restaurant all the best and much success for the future.
