Tara Restaurant - Café Bar in Hannover

The Tara Restaurant is located in the HTV tennis club. The owner gives you a friendly welcome and service. The tables are beautifully set, making you want to eat there. The menu features Mediterranean dishes as well as Balkan specialties. The food is delicious, and the portions are more than generous. A large selection of wines is also available, and you'll be well-advised on which one would be the perfect match. All in all, highly recommended! We'll definitely go back!

Hidden away on the upper floor of the sports complex, we were the only guests, and the only food on offer was currywurst (not bad). There was no menu or anything similar, so the bill for two large shandys and two currywursts was a bit of a surprise. Probably more of an insider's option...

Very unfriendly staff. After we saw something in our salad that looked eaten, we were assumed to have bitten it and were treated very unkindly. Never again!

My coleslaw was previously offered to another guest. Only the stem of the pepperoni was served (the rest had already been eaten) and I still had to pay for the dish. I waited 30 minutes for a draft beer

Were there for the second time. We were there with a larger group full of anticipation for the evening. I thought the great first experience was overshadowed by cheeky prices (e.g. €6 a beer) and poor criticism management. If you are paid in a clubhouse like a regular restaurant, you can expect a certain quality in terms of food and service. Hollandaise sauce costs €3.5 per portion but is placed on the table in a 3 liter pot. It does not work… Unfortunately for the last time...

Service staff were extremely overwhelmed with the first drink order. Excessive rip-off of the four dishes from which the registered group was allowed to choose. €16.50 for a variety of sizes of deep fryer schnitzel with soggy fries and canned coleslaw. For the bowl of sauce that was put on the table, everyone (!) was asked to pay another €3.50. Adds up with more than 20 people. 6 € euros for beer/shandy. - Could we continue like this? The crowning glory was simply the chef's aggressive demeanor, even though it was pointed out that leftover jalapenos were found in 3 salads. The dish didn't even contain any and they looked like garbage. When he made a comment to the staff, he came out of the kitchen, shouted and made accusations that they hadn't found them in the food at the beginning. So here you seem to be responsible if you don't find leftovers hidden in a salad before you start eating it. Simply outrageous. And that despite the fact that they had more than a good turnover in drinks alone.

The best chef in the world, if you are hungry comes to Tara. Very very high quality food.
