A gem of Italian cuisine in the heart of Düsseldorf near Carlsplatz The four of us spent a cozy evening in the beautiful courtyard. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared. We thank Antonio for his warm, attentive service and wine recommendation. It was fun to chat with him briefly about Italy and Vespa riding. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Italian food, the way it tastes best, in a cozy courtyard in the Carlstadt district. On a beautiful summer evening, you get an Italian feeling here that's hard to find anywhere else in Düsseldorf. Thanks also to Antonio for the warm and courteous service. P.S.: A must for Vespa riders, as Antonio is just as much of a Vespa enthusiast as the author. This small, cozy restaurant is highly recommended!

Something like this has never happened to me/us before. We wanted a good meal, but it never happened. We were greeted at the entrance by a smoking waiter who said, "Reserve? No, then go in, no card payments, cable broken." There were only two people in the entire restaurant at 7:30 p.m. on a Friday. We sat down, told the very unfriendly waiter (who hadn't washed his hands after smoking) that someone else would be coming, and ordered our drinks. The drama unfolded: I ordered a Coke, the others wine (there was no wine list). Well, the drinks arrived. When I took a sip of the Coke, it was Coke Zero, I had ordered a real Coke. I called the waiter and politely said, "That's not Coke, is it?" The unfriendly answer was, "No, it's sold out, none available." Hmm, don't you ask if you'd like a Zero? The menu has seen better days. Now for the real kicker: the waiter in question came to the table and asked in a tone that was almost unbelievable! When is he coming? He meant the missing person, and that was the moment, for me/us, when it was enough. I asked for the bill, and he started arguing about why. I then told him that because he was so friendly, I had to ask for the bill four times. We were then stopped at the exit by three men – the waiter, the chef, and no idea who the three were – who started arguing. We then turned around and left. This waiter is an insult to the industry.

During our few visits to Düsseldorf's Carlstadt district, we were impressed by the restaurant's seemingly cozy ambiance and didn't let negative reviews deter us from a lunch visit, something we deeply regret. A grumpy waiter handed us two worn, sparse menus that didn't match the blackboard at the entrance, which we had to point out to him. The sauces for the tagliatelle with fillet tips (€20.50) and the tagliatelle with veal liver (€18.50) we ordered were identical, bland in flavor, and lacking any "kick." The fillet tips consisted of small, connected pieces of beef, and the thoroughly cooked veal liver was just as sparsely distributed as the "fillet tips" in the tomato sauce. At a restaurant with this level of self-promotion and ambition, one might expect homemade pasta—ours was, at best, home-made. We weren't shown a wine list, but were asked in one word: "Primitivo?" – which then ended up being €9.50 per glass on the bill. The espresso (€3.50) was an outrage; it not only looked like it, but also tasted like it was from the second round of coffee from the machine. The Parmesan cheese we got from the next table was coarsely grated pizza cheese and probably also tasted like it came from a discount store. In the end, there was almost a fight because the waitress was apparently not happy with the amount of the tip. Just a side note: When you see the "dogs allowed" notice on the website, you'd expect a pet-friendly restaurant and perhaps a water bowl for your pet – again: negative, and the broken hand dryer and the somewhat dilapidated condition of the restrooms reflect the value for money of this establishment. Overall verdict: once and never again.

I ate there for lunch. The courtyard is very nice in the nice weather. However, everything is very close together, so every conversation can be heard and understood. I had gnocchi with tomato sauce and mozzarella. The gnocchi were very well cooked, perfect for people who like their food very soft. Too soft for me, and the gnocchi were drowned. However, my colleague had risotto with seafood. He said it was perfect. My gnocchi knots were €15.90 for a manageable amount. However, and now the really annoying part for me: someone at the next table wanted zabaglione for dessert. The server said, "Oh no, does that really have to happen? It's always so much work for us. I'll ask the kitchen if they'd do it..." Wow! A no-go for me, so the service easily loses a point. I'll let it go that he very rudely pointed out to me that they don't serve Alt beer, only Italian beer. It's not about the content, but how you package it.

A truly wonderful restaurant where we've eaten several times. The service is super friendly and attentive, and the food is excellent.

We were rather disappointed this time... Unfortunately, the service was extremely unfriendly. At first, we suspected it was a bit too relaxed and informal; but later, it became clear that it was simply rudeness 😅 The owner, however, was very helpful!

Nice ambiance, but the food was unfortunately quite disappointing. There were three of us in the restaurant after work, and none of us really enjoyed it. The white wine was good, the red wine was rather average. Only the prices were above average... It's a shame, I had very fond memories of that wine shop. They're over 20 years old, though. Certainly nice for a wine evening, but I'd go elsewhere for dinner.

Nice location, great for a business lunch. Delicious wines. There is a small courtyard with a few outdoor spaces in the sun.

The ambience has remained unchanged for 20 years, cellar-like, romantic and tips are of course cash.

Jedes Gericht, von den Vorspeisen wie vitello tonnato und bruschetta, über das Hauptgericht saltimbocca, bis hin zu den selbstgemachten Desserts wie sabaione oder tiramisú, spiegelt die Handwerkskunst und den exquisiten Geschmack der Küche wider. Dem aufmerksamen und herzlichen Service gebührt besonderes Lob. Mit italienischem Temperament sorgen die Mitarbeiter nicht nur für eine rasche Bedienung, sondern auch für ein unvergessliches Ambiente. Kundenzufriedenheit wird hier großgeschrieben und das merkt man an jedem Detail. Das Essen war in Ordnung, die Location ebenfalls, aber der Service hat den Abend komplett ruiniert. Die Kellner waren generell aufdringlich, aber besonders unangenehm war ein Kellner mit deutlicher Alkoholfahne. Als wir am Ende mit Karte zahlen wollten und höflich fragten, ob wir auch das Trinkgeld per Karte geben könnten, kippte die Stimmung plötzlich. Der Kellner wurde extrem unfreundlich, sprach kaum noch mit uns und ließ uns spüren, dass wir nicht mehr willkommen waren. Sehr unangenehme Erfahrung – hierher komme ich sicher nicht noch einmal!

Der Abend im Vini Divini hat eigentlich sehr schön begonnen. Das Essen war gut, die Atmosphäre angenehm, und das Personal war zunächst sehr freundlich. Leider hat sich das geändert, als es ans Bezahlen ging. Als wir mit Karte zahlen wollten, wurde der Kellner plötzlich unfreundlich und sehr aufdringlich, insbesondere beim Thema Trinkgeld. Er meinte, Trinkgeld per Karte sei „wegen des Finanzamtes“ nicht möglich, und hat uns fast schon genötigt, es bar zu geben. Danach wurde auf Italienisch mit den Kollegen gesprochen, und dabei fiel das Wort „Finanzamt“ mehrfach – ein merkwürdiger Beigeschmack. Besonders unangenehm war, dass der Kellner sichtlich erbost war und ab diesem Moment nicht mehr normal mit uns gesprochen hat. Stattdessen wurden wir ignoriert, als wären wir nicht mehr willkommen. Schade, denn der Abend hatte wirklich gut begonnen. Aber so ein Verhalten hinterlässt einen faden Nachgeschmack und lässt einen überlegen, wie es dort tatsächlich mit der Transparenz aussieht.

Very tasty food and totally friendly, authentic service. The kitchen is quite flexible and can put together dishes as desired (e.g. starter plate). Good wine selection. Vegetarian selection available, but focus on meat dishes. No vegan dishes. The interior needs a little updating, but that doesn't matter in the overall experience. :)

Good upscale Italian. Great Italian dishes and a lovely courtyard in summer. There is no pizza here, but there is excellent pasta and perfect tomato sauces, which also vary per dish.

We spent a lovely evening in this owner-run Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy, open kitchen, staff friendly. Food: Antipasti good, salmon on point and smart lemon sauce, recommended! Unfortunately, sea bream is a bit overdone, but still edible. We had hoped for a little more from the wine list. Mainly simple pizza-pasta wines, but not bad. A small downside was that the prices on the bill didn't match those on the menu. All dishes were 1 - 2 euros more expensive. Despite this mistake, we enjoyed the visit overall.

The Vini Divini impresses across the board: from the wonderful service to the charming ambience to the open kitchen, which offers a direct view of what is happening. Here the cooking is fresh and with attention to detail - and you can taste it! The food is of high quality and the wine selection is excellently matched to perfectly complement each dish. I think it's particularly nice that the focus here is on traditional, high-quality dishes - without any pizza.

What a romantic and comforting venue. Stumbled upon this restaurant while on a short visit to Düsseldorf. They were extremely welcoming and helpful with their menu to two English only speaking tourists. The food was delicious and plentiful. Would highly recommend!

You can do it, but you don't have to. We were there with 10 people on Wednesday evening. The shop was full and there was only one waiter. Of course everything took a long time but he did his best. Therefore service 4 stars. Food nothing special. There are many other Italian restaurants nearby. So you can compare relatively well. The salmon was good but all the other dishes were rather bland. Atmosphere didn't feel warm to me. Rather bare. We were in the back. It's cooler at the front.

This restaurant is somewhat hidden. But worth it for a nice evening of dining. Be sure to try the veal liver. This one is delicious.

The evening started off really strong, but unfortunately declined massively as it progressed. Unfortunately, my request to pay was vehemently ignored by the boss (?) until his colleague (?) asked about us. After another 10 to 15 minutes I was finally able to pay, which was very unfortunate. Real Italian cuisine! Tastefully seasoned pasta (with porcini mushrooms on the one hand, prawns and green asparagus on the other) with a white wine and garlic sauce, meat accompanied by a magnificent lemon sauce and grilled vegetables. Discreet and efficient service. A small, quiet interior courtyard. Perfect to end a day.

It's always delicious in the small restaurant on Bastionstrasse. This time I chose the veal liver with vegetables, which was perfectly presented and extremely well seasoned! Next time I'll come in summer, when the small courtyard is open and guests can sit outside - it's much more atmospheric than inside!

Welcoming reception and delicious food in a nice Italian atmosphere in the center of Dusseldorf

A small Italian restaurant not far from Düsseldorf's old town. The front guest area in particular looks very cozy thanks to the stone wall. Since we were guests here with a smaller group, we were unfortunately placed in the less comfortable next room. The food was served quite quickly and tasted good, especially the fresh pasta. The prices are okay for the quality offered, but for some dishes they are a bit too high. The large selection of wines is positive, but no beer is served. As other guests have already criticized, EC card payments do not seem to be possible in principle - but that should be a given in 2024. At least we were made aware of this before we placed our order.

Vino Divini is an established cozy Italian restaurant with a rather authentic style. Late at night, after a great dinner, attentive service fluently providing us with several bottles of wine we left this place in good spirits. You should consider this place if you care for an Italian vibe and appreciate great value for money.

Very bad experience.. really disappointed.. Very bad smell in the place. The place in general was dirty. The food wasn't right cooked. Gnocchi was like plastic. The veggies in the pasta plates was raw.. wasn't value for money. overrated prices. Never again..

If you like authentic italian dishes, don’t even bother and go elsewhere. For spaghetti carborana costing 19 EUR I would expect authentic ingredients and superb taste. I’ve got tasteless and overcooked pasta with a cream. And it was not guanciale nor pancetta for sure. Advice - If you have open kitchen, teach your cooks to act professional. Watching the cook to play with his phone while making my pasta did not leave a good impression.

Ein kleines und sehr schönes italienisches Restaurant in der Nähe der Düsseldorfer Altstadt. Insbesondere der wunderschöne Innenhof erinnert einen an Italien. Man kann wunderbar im Sommer draußen sitzen und dem Trubel der Innenstadt entkommen. Die Pasta ist sehr lecker und alles wird frisch zubereitet. Die Weine schmecken ebenfalls sehr gut und das Tiramisu ist ein Träumchen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Wir waren Mittags zu dritt dort. Das Essen war frisch zubereitet und es hat uns allen gut geschmeckt. Leider hatten sie keine Spaghetti Vongole und ich musste mir was anderes aussuchen.

Wir sind heute zufällig nach unserem Stadtbummel im wunderbaren Vini Divini gelandet. Lange nicht mehr so gute italienische Küche genießen dürfen. Und das in Verbindung mit einer sehr aufmerksamen und herzlichen Gastgeberin. Die Speise- als auch die Weinkarte bietet eine reichhaltige Auswahl an italienischen Spezialitäten. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Wo Gastfreundschaft klein geschrieben wird…wir haben uns nicht wirklich willkommen gefühlt, unser reservierter Tisch war bereits vergeben und wir wurden an der Küche vorbei in einen sehr hellhörigen ungemütlichen Nebenraum geführt. Der Service war beiläufig und unaufmerksam, die auf zum Teil auf italienisch verfasste „Tageskarte“ mussten wir uns via Google übersetzen. Auf das Hauptgericht haben wir fast eine Stunde gewartet, das Essen insgesamt war allenfalls durchschnittlich, die Toilette waren unsauber und auf die Rechnung haben wir länger warten müssen, dann wiederum auf das Kassieren. Und als wir mit Karte zahlen wollten, hieß es nur barsch, das ginge heute nicht, es würde ja auch ein Zettel an der Tür hängen. Beim Rausgehen haben wir den Zettel dann auch gesehen, er war uns doch tatsächlich beim Betreten nicht aufgefallen, muss wohl an der geöffneten Tür gelegen haben…einmal und nie wieder!

Das Essen ist durchschnittlich, die Portionen sehr überschaubar. Der Service ist leider nicht sehr aufmerksam und wenig freundlich. Kartenzahlung war heute nicht möglich „es hängt doch ein Schild im Fenster!“ Also musste ich nochmal zu einem Geldautomaten, das Schild im Eingangsbereich ist winzig und in der gleichen unleserlichen Handschrift geschrieben wie die Speisekarten. Alles eher enttäuschend.

Sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant am Rande der Altstadt. Das Essen ist vorzüglich und absolut zu empfehlen. Abzug die unbequemen Stühle und Tische, sowie ein etwas vergesslicher Service, der aber bei einer Erinnerung sofort alles erledigt. Zum Empfang gab es einen Prosecco aufs Haus.

Eine kleine aber feine und sehr schmackhafte italienische Küche. Der Hauswein ist ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen😅 Wechselnde Gerichte von der Tafel lassen auch bei mehreren Besuchen keine Langeweile aufkommen.

Vini Divini in Düsseldorf ist ein guter Italiener, der mit einer übersichtlichen Karte aufwartet. Es gibt Antipasti, Pasta, Fisch und Fleischgerichte sowie eine kleine Auswahl an Nachtischen. Die bestellte Pasta war sehr schmackhaft und freundlich angerichtet. Das Lokal selber ist schmal und tief, die Küche am hinteren Ende offen ausgeführt. Die Bestuhlung ist eng, die Tische eher klein. Dadurch kann es, wenn größere Tischgesellschaften parallel bedient werden einen Recht hohen Geräuschpegel geben. Eigentümer und Personal sind freundlich und aufmerksam. Wer eine günstige Piazzaria sucht, wird hier nicht fündig. Wer hingegen gute italienische Speisen bei häuslicher Atmosphäre möchte, für den ist das Vini Divini sicherlich ein guter Tipp.

Waren wieder sehr zufrieden mit dem Essen. Mittags Angerufen und für Abends noch einen Tisch bekommen. Eine Reservierung am Wochenende ist zu empfehlen. Schönes Ambiente. Gerne wieder und wir werden wiederkommen.

...wenn ich h könnte, würde ich beim Essen 4,5 Sterne vergeben. Das ist aber nicht vorgesehen 😉 War an einem Samstagabend mit meiner Frau dort essen und war sehr angetan. Wohltuend ruhige Atmosphäre in einer Seitenstraße zwischen Kö und Altstadt.

Kleiner, gemütlicher Italiener. Gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Tisch besser reservieren, vor allem am Wochenende. Der erste Raum/ Eingangsbereich sollte ansprechender gestaltet werden, er wirkte etwas chaotisch. Für Gehbehinderte/Rollstuhlfahrer schwierig.

Eten is mwah, erg basis voor Italiaans en weinig spectaculair. Weinig uitgesproken smaken. Wijn en olijfolie is goed. Bediening ook mwah.. zeker niet ‘echt zoals in Italië’ zoals men suggereert.

Wir sind nach einem Stadtbummel zufällig am Vini Divini vorbeigekommen und fühlten uns direkt angesprochen vom Ambiente. Alleine die handgeschriebenen Speisen auf der Tafel vor dem Laden ließen uns Hunger bekommen. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Der Service war perfekt, ebenso wie die Speisen und die Weinauswahl. Es war ein sehr angenehmer und genussvoller Abend für uns. Danke dafür.

Das Essen (die Nudeln) konnten nichts. Dafür waren die Preise gesalzen.

Zum einen ein total gemütliches Lokal mit super leckerem Essen. Zum anderen ein durchaus überdurchschnittlich guter Service - total freundlich und engagiert. Ich hatte mir essen einpacken lassen und es vergessen mitzunehmen, woraufhin unsere tolle Bedingung mir noch auf der Straße hinterhergelaufen ist, um es mir mitzugeben. Vielen Dank nochmal!!
