A great pizzeria in Düsseldorf near the Rhine. A cozy atmosphere. Pizza made in a stone oven.

Pizzeria Pinocchio is easily accessible in Düsseldorf's old town. Positive: You can sit outside – although the seating is rather average. We ordered a salami pizza and a Diavolo pizza. Unfortunately, they were essentially the same pizza, except the Diavolo had a bit of spicy oil drizzled over it. Normally, you'd expect a spicy, hot salami here – but this seemed more like a rip-off. The pizza dough itself was also rather below average in terms of taste and not a highlight. The house wine (white wine) was not only overpriced at €17 for 0.5 l, but also arrived much too warm and tasted quite sour. Another unpleasant thing was that an employee (or perhaps the manager) was playing his cell phone very loudly right outside the restaurant. At least he responded after we asked him to turn it down. Conclusion: Hunger drives us in – but the culinary experience falls well short of our expectations. Unfortunately, it is not enough for a real recommendation.

We went with high expectations, but the result was a disappointment. The staff was extremely indifferent. The pizzas were swimming in oil and overly salty. The only thing I liked was the thinness of the pizza dough. You can find much better pizzerias. A waste of time.

The pizza I had was atrocious. It tasted like frozen pizza that was warmed up and served. Do not recommend for Pizza whatsoever. Service was good, atmosphere was good. cannot say about other items such as pasta, but the pizza was really npt good, did not like.

I paid a total of €26.70 for two pizzas. To be fair, the pizzas were delicious – the crust was good, the toppings were fresh – but nothing special that would justify the price. I think €16.20 for a simple tuna pizza is significantly overpriced. In the end, it's "just" a pizza – and even in good pizzerias in Düsseldorf, you usually pay significantly less for that. The taste is okay, but the value for money isn't right for me. A shame.

Pizzeria Pinocchio in Düsseldorf's Old Town definitely has its own charm. The decor is unusual and stylish, but the cramped space can get quite noisy. Nevertheless, the food is impressive: the pizza was tasty and well-prepared. Those looking for a cozy atmosphere should be prepared for some hustle and bustle, but for delicious pizza, it's definitely worth a visit!

Very tasty food and very attentive service

Pizza was great. Drink prices as well as the service and hygiene are a disaster. Wine spritzer costs the same as a pure wine. He was still warm. When you pay €70 for 2 pizzas with 4 drinks I definitely expect more. (almost €8 for a standard grappa is also more than cheeky!)

€4.40 surcharge for pizza for additional toppings! With extra onions, corn and parmesan, that's €13.20 more for a pizza that costs €15! Not recommended!

Pizza is super tasty and absolutely recommended

The taste of the food was really okay - but unfortunately that was the only positive thing about our visit. The reception by the staff was unfriendly and arrogant. We were seated at a visibly dirty table and when it was “cleaned” the leftover food and crumbs were simply wiped onto our laps - absolutely unacceptable. Particularly important: Be sure to check the invoice before paying! We also tried to bill items twice - apparently not an isolated case, as you can also read in other reviews.

We had Pizza Salami and Pizza Europa. Both were good. Very friendly staff as well! Recommended!

We were there on a sunny spring day. On a football day! The entire altstad was filled with supporters, great atmosphere. Pinocchio is located just on the edge of the altstad. Quiet terrace with delicious food! Great service, recommended!

Mein Besuch dort war eine durchweg positive Erfahrung, und ich möchte insbesondere die hervorragende Gastfreundschaft und den ausgezeichneten Service hervorheben. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich, dass das Restaurant mit großer Sorgfalt und Rücksichtnahme darauf geachtet hat, dass ich aufgrund des Ramadan faste. Vom Zeitpunkt der Reservierung bis zur Umsetzung vor Ort verlief alles reibungslos. Mein Essen wurde pünktlich serviert, sodass ich mein Fasten problemlos brechen konnte, und das Personal war stets aufmerksam, freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Best pizza in a long-established pizzeria

The food wasn't bad, but I didn't like the atmosphere that much. There is no barrier-free access. Everything seems very old and the lighting is not appropriate. In my opinion, this is not good overall.

Unfriendly staff, lady's arm grabbed and pushed "out of the way" and generally derogatory behavior towards our women present. A few dishes were prepared incorrectly but were also corrected when they were asked about it. An absolute no-go for the price.

The truth is that they are very happy. We arrived just a few minutes before closing and they were very kind to us and made us quality pizzas and offered a good house wine. They also charged my cell phone with their charger. They didn't let us go hungry (not like other restaurants in Düsseldorf...) Again, thank you very much.

The pizza is very tasty. Basically a bit more expensive for a pizzeria. There is an outdoor terrace, but unfortunately it is of a lesser quality. The service is very nice, friendly and puts you in a good mood.

Eine “Pallina“ vorneweg und eine “Capitano“. Besser geht's nicht!!! Hier gibt's die allerbesten Pizzen weit und breit und sehr entspannte, sehr nette Bedienung.

We waren zelf schuld dat we een half uur moesten wachten, we hadden niet gereserveerd. En dat is hier wel aan te raden. Het wachten is echter geen straf, je kunt de diverse pizzas alvast bekijken als ze uit de houtoven komen. Ze zien er allemaal heerlijk uit. Deze ervaring hebben we later aan de houten bewerkte tafel, zoals Geppetto die zelf zou maken, ook mogen ervaren. Verder hanger er schilderijen en tekeningen van Pinokkio aan de muur en het restaurant ziet er uit als een druipsteen-grot. (Dit laatste is wel moeilijker schoon te maken, zeker op plaatsen waar de kaarsen altijd op tafel staan.) De bediening is zeer vriendelijk en spreekt onderling Italiaans. Niet voor niets een advies van Tripadvisor. Ook van mij een echte aanrader.

We enjoyed the pizza and pasta, but the mousse au chocolat was really disappointing. It tasted industrial and nearly inedible, so we left it untouched.

We were in the front part of the restaurant, which is very narrow. That's why it's very loud there. The food and service was great.

This is our third visit to this restaurant. It is essential to reserve in advance, especially during trade fairs. My first visit was 10 years ago. This time Alfredo served us, very entertaining and friendly. Gladly again.

Best pizza in town!! I've been going to Pizzeria Pinocchio for almost 50 years and the quality has been perfect ever since! The pizzas are fantastic, the Insalata Capricciosa has the signature Pinocchio dressing and the lasagne is hot and steamy wonderful! An absolute tip!

If you want real Italian pizza, this is the right address. There is not only a pizzeria but also many types of seafood and pasta. If you want to eat a pizza cooked in a real oven over a wood fire, with thinly rolled dough and really plenty of toppings, I suggest you go here. Wrong advance reservation required. Heel gezellige lunch in speciaal kader . De pizza's waren heerlijk: pizza Pinocchio met verse paprika, verse spinazie en andere groenten, en lekkere hesp. Met een aparte looksaus. Heerlijk! We hebben er een mooie Chianti Classico bij gedronken. Heel vriendelijke bediening door Italiaan uit Sicilië. Dit is een super aanrader als je lekker typisch Italiaans wilt eten.

When I stopped by today, an employee mocked me through the kitchen window of this restaurant for being Asian. I'm not Chinese, but they made fun of me by speaking Chinese. Does the restaurant manager know that such an employee exists? It's a shame. terrible!

Once and never again. It started when the waiter wanted to put napkins and cutlery on the totally dirty table. When asked, (one of the two) was cleaned and the cutlery was simply thrown out for everyone. Pizza itself wasn't a revelation but the dough was more reminiscent of frozen goods than a pizza napolitana (no bubbles at all). White wine spritzer 0.1 liter in the cheapest glass €7.

A few days ago we happened to notice the restaurant while walking and decided to try it out as a group on Saturday evening. Unfortunately, we definitely won't eat there again. We ordered fish, pasta, salad and gnocchi. Except for the pasta, the rest was an absolute disappointment. The taste of the food left a lot to be desired, and the dishes also lacked an appealing appearance for the prices quoted. The prices are simply too high in relation to the quality and portion sizes.

Ich hatte die Schnecken, die sehr lecker waren. Von der Bruschetta war ich allerdings enttäuscht - es war im Grunde eine kleine Pizza, auf die etwas lieblos Tomatensalat geworfen wurde. Noch dazu mit Gurke, die in einer Bruschetta eigentlich nichts zu suchen hat. Ich hatte auf in Knoblauch geröstete Weißbrotscheiben gehofft - was bei dem Preis angemessen gewesen wäre.

I ordered a pizza and it was served hot in 5 to 7 minutes .Their service is good and pizza was nice. They don’t accept cards if order is less than 20 so please bring cash when going there.

Unfortunately we couldn't eat in peace, there were too many big flies, which made the food disgusting for me.

Went out relatively late last night... but still managed to get three seats outside. Ordering went quickly and professionally. Two bowls of garlic paste were also served. The pizzas were all very good...thin crust, well topped and the edges were nice and narrow. In combination with the garlic pastes, a real 1. Definitely coming back...😉

I've never experienced anything so bad before. Not a snack to whet your appetite. Super small portion of Calamari Fritti for a very hefty price. Not even a side dish of bread. The salad consisted only of iceberg lettuce with a mustard dressing and was very soggy. My wife (71) couldn't get enough. Actually always leaves something left over. In addition, not necessarily friendly waiters. Under no circumstances can we give a recommendation.

We felt like eating something Italian, this place was the closest on our walk. Modest at first glance, the oilcloths covering the tables are not very nice, hence the shock when you look at the prices. In this range I would expect a normal tablecloth. But that's okay, almost €5.80 for Jever 0.4? Okay, we're on vacation. 🥲 The menu was designed typically for a German guest, the pizzas were overloaded with ingredients, I didn't take a photo, I don't remember now, but at some point I was very surprised by the selection of toppings. We ordered two simplest pizzas and tagliatelle with salmon. The pizza sauce was very intense and tasty. The cake tastes quite average. The mushrooms on Fungi released water and made the inside soggy. (And Magda Gessler always says to fry it first and get rid of the water, and you will gain more flavor. 🤭) In Berlin you can eat a similar 🍕 at Call a pizza. Pasta is an interesting story, recently I complained that I was given a small portion somewhere, but here I couldn't eat it, there was so much of it. Lots of pieces of salmon. Unfortunately, the sauce did not impress me in any way. There is no Parmesan cheese to sprinkle on, but I didn't ask if they would give it to me, it was just an observation. Generally, I expected more for such prices, not to mention that no one polishes the cutlery there, and the pasta fork has a thick wooden handle, which makes rolling the pasta terribly inconvenient. There is nothing to welcome you, like a piece of ciabatta and olives or something like that. In Berlin, we seem to be spoiled... 😋 To cheer you up, I'll add that we received the food very quickly. Maybe that's why they don't have a waiting box 😉
