Pizzeria Pinocchio in Düsseldorf

Excellent pizza prepared by very nice men. Nice atmosphere when the men shout over each other, mixing German and Italian. All the tables in the pizzeria were occupied, so I was seated on the last free chair in the place where pizzas are served, for which I am very grateful.

Very nice place! The staff very helpful! The pizza one of the best we have eaten in Dusseldorf and the pasta big portions and very tasty! I highly recommend it!

Best pizza in town!! I've been going to Pizzeria Pinocchio for almost 50 years and the quality has been perfect ever since! The pizzas are fantastic, the Insalata Capricciosa has the signature Pinocchio dressing and the lasagne is hot and steamy wonderful! An absolute tip!

If you want real Italian pizza, this is the right address. There is not only a pizzeria but also many types of seafood and pasta. If you want to eat a pizza cooked in a real oven over a wood fire, with thinly rolled dough and really plenty of toppings, I suggest you go here. Wrong advance reservation required. The place is quite small but the taste of the food is really great. I especially recommend the tomato soup. The service is really fast despite this busyness. Grazie mille

The pizza was delicious, as were the cannelloni. The service was very attentive, friendly and accommodating, even though it was very busy. The Pizzeria Pinocchio is quaint, a bit poorly lit at the front, but this creates a certain romantic atmosphere. 🥰

Heel gezellige lunch in speciaal kader . De pizza's waren heerlijk: pizza Pinocchio met verse paprika, verse spinazie en andere groenten, en lekkere hesp. Met een aparte looksaus. Heerlijk! We hebben er een mooie Chianti Classico bij gedronken. Heel vriendelijke bediening door Italiaan uit Sicilië. Dit is een super aanrader als je lekker typisch Italiaans wilt eten.

The pasta is also very delicious! I arrived before 6pm and was able to eat without waiting.

Unfriendly staff and just average pizzas. The interior doesn't smell that good either. I became suspicious and googled the store, I found out that he was being punished by the food inspectorate for lack of hygiene.

When I stopped by today, an employee mocked me through the kitchen window of this restaurant for being Asian. I'm not Chinese, but they made fun of me by speaking Chinese. I asked him why he did that. He got angry and threatened to wait outside and said he would finish me off. It's really bad when someone like that cooks. Does the restaurant manager know that such an employee exists? It's a shame. terrible!

Once and never again. It started when the waiter wanted to put napkins and cutlery on the totally dirty table. When asked, (one of the two) was cleaned and the cutlery was simply thrown out for everyone. Pizza itself wasn't a revelation but the dough was more reminiscent of frozen goods than a pizza napolitana (no bubbles at all). White wine spritzer 0.1 liter in the cheapest glass €7.

A few days ago we happened to notice the restaurant while walking and decided to try it out as a group on Saturday evening. Unfortunately, we definitely won't eat there again. We ordered fish, pasta, salad and gnocchi. Except for the pasta, the rest was an absolute disappointment. The taste of the food left a lot to be desired, and the dishes also lacked an appealing appearance for the prices quoted. The prices are simply too high in relation to the quality and portion sizes.

Ich hatte die Schnecken, die sehr lecker waren. Von der Bruschetta war ich allerdings enttäuscht - es war im Grunde eine kleine Pizza, auf die etwas lieblos Tomatensalat geworfen wurde. Noch dazu mit Gurke, die in einer Bruschetta eigentlich nichts zu suchen hat. Ich hatte auf in Knoblauch geröstete Weißbrotscheiben gehofft - was bei dem Preis angemessen gewesen wäre.

I ordered a pizza and it was served hot in 5 to 7 minutes .Their service is good and pizza was nice. They don’t accept cards if order is less than 20 so please bring cash when going there.

Unfortunately we couldn't eat in peace, there were too many big flies, which made the food disgusting for me.

Went out relatively late last night... but still managed to get three seats outside. Ordering went quickly and professionally. Two bowls of garlic paste were also served. The pizzas were all very good...thin crust, well topped and the edges were nice and narrow. In combination with the garlic pastes, a real 1. Definitely coming back...😉

I've never experienced anything so bad before. Not a snack to whet your appetite. Super small portion of Calamari Fritti for a very hefty price. Not even a side dish of bread. The salad consisted only of iceberg lettuce with a mustard dressing and was very soggy. My wife (71) couldn't get enough. Actually always leaves something left over. In addition, not necessarily friendly waiters. Under no circumstances can we give a recommendation.

We felt like eating something Italian, this place was the closest on our walk. Modest at first glance, the oilcloths covering the tables are not very nice, hence the shock when you look at the prices. In this range I would expect a normal tablecloth. But that's okay, almost €5.80 for Jever 0.4? Okay, we're on vacation. 🥲 The menu was designed typically for a German guest, the pizzas were overloaded with ingredients, I didn't take a photo, I don't remember now, but at some point I was very surprised by the selection of toppings. We ordered two simplest pizzas and tagliatelle with salmon. The pizza sauce was very intense and tasty. The cake tastes quite average. The mushrooms on Fungi released water and made the inside soggy. (And Magda Gessler always says to fry it first and get rid of the water, and you will gain more flavor. 🤭) In Berlin you can eat a similar 🍕 at Call a pizza. Pasta is an interesting story, recently I complained that I was given a small portion somewhere, but here I couldn't eat it, there was so much of it. Lots of pieces of salmon. Unfortunately, the sauce did not impress me in any way. There is no Parmesan cheese to sprinkle on, but I didn't ask if they would give it to me, it was just an observation. Generally, I expected more for such prices, not to mention that no one polishes the cutlery there, and the pasta fork has a thick wooden handle, which makes rolling the pasta terribly inconvenient. There is nothing to welcome you, like a piece of ciabatta and olives or something like that. In Berlin, we seem to be spoiled... 😋 To cheer you up, I'll add that we received the food very quickly. Maybe that's why they don't have a waiting box 😉

This restaurant exceeded my expectations! The food is authentic and delicious, especially the homemade pasta and pizza. The service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere cozy and inviting. Price-performance is top – fair prices for excellent quality. Absolutely recommended for anyone who loves Italian cuisine. I'll definitely be back!

I post a review every 10 years. I have rarely seen such a bunch of arrogant employees. The customer is nothing but a nuisance and is treated with disgust. Pathetic. The icing on the cake: customers' entire disgust at pizza salami to go is expressed by throwing cold/raw salami slices from Aldi at the Magherita from the oven (at least it looked delicious). The entire staff is completely disgusting. Never again.

The rudest staff. Group of 15 and the waiter was angry when 1 person wanted to pay for everyone. Also ignored one of the group when they asked for another drink which was ordered which hadn't arrived

Pinocchio was once an insider tip, good prices, rustic atmosphere, nice service and above all great pizza. What's left? The nice service makes the decline in quality even more significant as prices rise. I'm always amazed that restaurateurs think that customers don't notice this. Conclusion; no tearing, Overall it's good, but anyone who has known it for a while will be disappointed.

It's not bad, but it used to be better. They've become a little more commercial. Pizza dough was not cooked well. It doesn't suit an Italian restaurant.

Insider tip when it comes to classic Italian pizza and the atmosphere in the restaurant. I've been going here since 1986 and still get the same good pizza 🍕 from the wood oven and inside. Inside you really have the feeling of being in the belly of the whale from Pinocchio's story, there are also suitable books 📗 for children about this great story. Pizza is simply classic and yet has an outstanding taste. Waiters very friendly, quick and professional. Special recommendation: order a “Pallina” as a starter while you wait for the pizza, this is pizza dough only with a salt/garlic mixture on it, a pleasure.😋

It was obviously disrespectful. There are practically no guests in the restaurant during the day. I decided to sit outside and have a cup of coffee. I waited a long time for the waiter. When he finally arrived he informed me that this was a restaurant and you couldn't just have a cup of coffee without eating something. This is the first time I've met such rude Italians.

I used to go there a lot but this time it was horrible I couldn’t believe it, before they had nice quality and pizza bread was so good but this time taste was like recooked pizza bread !!! I don’t think so I go there again

The owner of this restaurant and the staff are incredibly rude! I had a hair on my pizza and when I reported it back I almost got beaten up. They yelled at me. I regret every minute I spent here. I NEVER recommend this restaurant.

The pizza came long before the pasta and when the pasta came the pizza was obviously cold... the entire order wasn't brought because my sister's food was forgotten... when we wanted to pay we had to wait another 20 minutes for the bill 😂that's what I eat but it was good😂

Ideally I would give -5 stars. I don't understand the many good reviews here. The waiter, an older gentleman, absolutely listless, brought us cutlery. He touched the cutlery - from above - with his fingers, several times. You hold cutlery from below, the first rule in gastronomy. The food was absolutely tasteless and of no quality and was overpriced. Attention: the online prices on the website vary enormously from the prices in the store. In the end we were made to wait for 20 minutes until someone came and collected the money. We weren't even asked if we liked the food. The table next door also left the food half full.

I had an appointment with friends. I asked at the counter if “she” and “he” were there (regulars) because we had arranged to meet there. The cheeky answer: “Do I have to say on my forehead that I know all the guests?” Never ever. It is and remains a bill store. So I can't say anything about the food, only about the overfed boss and staff.

It tastes good, and the big stove in that restaurant is a feature. The prices are similar to other pizza places, so they are quite reasonable.

Very nice and relaxed service, great atmosphere. The pizza comes straight from the charcoal stone oven and there is free garlic & spicy on the table. The wines were OK. The garlic bread (pizza bread) was amazing! The only negative point: the mushrooms in the pasta were not fresh, but from the pasta Glass. Unfortunately, that's not possible, especially if the menu says something about high-quality ingredients and thus justifies the very high prices.

You can go, but you don't have to.

A standard pizza was there in 5 minutes, but unfortunately it wasn't that tasty. Therefore only 3 points. You can park in the art gallery, but it is relatively expensive. Unfortunately, parking options are very limited.

Unfortunately, we were asked to change seats after we had already placed our order. From the sun into the shadows. Another group wanted the place and two waiters asked us very boldly. Not a friendly question or request, but simply said we have to change our ways or leave. Incredibly unfriendly. Then left...sad dealings with friendly customers. And simply expensive! 3€ the old, 15€ a simple pizza.

I am shocked by these many outstanding reviews. We wanted to order a Pizza Diavolo and asked if the salami was spicy. No, it's normal salami with chili oil. Well then at least there are pepperoni? "No". Ok, can you add arugula on top? “We do that with Parmesan.” Waiter was a bit slow. After a bit of back and forth, we understood that he wanted to recommend Parmesan with it. But the rocket for a whopping €4.40 was enough for us. There should also be a vegetable pizza. Unfortunately they didn't have any corn either. They would always make the pizza with garlic oil. But there was no warning that the pizza would be drowned in the oil and that you would no longer be able to socialize for the next three days. The principle “more is more” also applied elsewhere. Completely overloaded. Mushrooms could have been canned. The salami was the same as the one from the XXL pack from Lidl. Looks and tastes like a Dr. Oetker baked pizza. Each for €18 and juice spritzer for €6.20. Most expensive and worst pizza of my life. The waiter wanted to clear away and I said that I would pay by card straight away. He then let go of the plates and said we can stay. I repeated myself. He took the plates with him and walked past us a few times, maintained eye contact and then asked if we wanted to pay. Funny way. This restaurant is definitely one to miss.

Catastrophe! Check out the picture for yourself. I had ordered a pizza with ham, it came with a pizza half with broccoli and half with ham. When I mentioned to the waiter that I hadn't ordered these, he tried to persuade me to keep them and tell me how healthy broccoli was. However, he reluctantly took it back and the broccoli was simply removed from the pizza and replaced with ham. However, this ham was no longer baked, so half of the pizza was topped with baked ham and half was topped with cold ham (see photo). There were also leftover broccoli on the pizza. In the meantime the pizza was now cold. In addition, the pizza is very expensive, which is not understandable because other pizzerias (e.g. in the old town and also in Oberkassel) can offer better and cheaper pizzas.

It's a real tip if you're nearby and you're hungry.
