Fantastic, cozy restaurant with a lot of heart in downtown Munich. I would also recommend non-vegetarians to pay a visit to Vegelangelo. 😊

We were received very kindly by the hostess. She didn't have an English menu but she offered to translate if necessary. We chose the 3-course menu and had a very tasty meal and drink. The dishes were wonderfully seasoned and the presentation was beautiful. Highly recommended for those who want to enjoy delicious vegetarian food. Oh and the eclectic interior, you have to be there for it, but it's totally my thing 😍

All around a great restaurant! The food was very tasty and prepared with love. We were warmly welcomed and our table was in a very cozy little niche. Finally good, selected vegetarian dishes! I can only warmly recommend it. 😊

All the food was so tasty. The lady running it was very friendly and welcoming and helped out in English when my German was too terrible! Really fresh food, a menu that changes daily and an intimate atmosphere. A lovely way to spend an evening in Munich. I don’t think I shall have room to eat any more for a week! What a culinary experience! My husband and I recently dined at Vegeangelo. As vegetarians and discerning connoisseurs, we were very spoiled with culinary delights. We were impressed by both the service and the delicious food. We'd love to come back.

Hard to find but once we found it we were completely amazed. Delicious food away from the tourist centers of Munich. We will definitely come back as soon as we are back in Munich. Be sure to reserve.

The visit was due to a gift. Vegelangelo presents itself as a gourmet vegetarian and therefore wants to target a specific clientele. At €88 per person for a 6-course menu with wine accompaniment, it's basically not exorbitant. As a vegetarian in the early 2000s, you certainly had to spend a long time looking for good options in Munich other than Vegelangelo, but now there are really many good restaurants with fantastic cuisine for vegetarians. Basically, I'm happy about specially created dishes, but I'm also aware that every restaurant has to work economically. Unfortunately, I found the dishes to be a mix of hospital food and economy class airplane food. The presentation was okay, but I personally don't need lentils with Frankfurter substitute or an excessive number of spreads with just one piece of breadsticks and another piece of cracker for a 6-course meal with a self-proclaimed gourmet vegetarian. Of course, taste can be debated and the changing menu could look different again next quarter, but unfortunately there was nothing there for me this time. I wasn't particularly hungry, but I would definitely have been full, so no deduction from the rating. I found the service to be very good and attentive, but I also find it unnecessary if you are the only guest asked to use the cutlery again. For me, it's not about the aspect of the ecological footprint, but rather, if you still have leftovers from a course that tastes very unpleasant stuck to your spoon, you don't necessarily want to lick the same one off again. Eco thought or not, but then I would simply wash the cutlery by hand if I didn't want to turn on the dishwasher for the only guest in the restaurant. Maybe the concept changes and adapts to the competition and the changing demands of customers, but maybe not. Everyone can decide what they want to consume and where they go.

Top vegan cuisine, very friendly service

However, I can attest that their vegan truffle pasta is a standout dish, cooked to perfection with a flavorful sauce. Their menu features a variety of delicious plant-based options, making it a must-visit for anyone craving delicious vegan food.🫶🏼

Das Restaurant wünscht sich eine Reservierung, die aber problemlos zu bekommen ist. Man wählt ein 2-, 3- oder 4- Gänge-Menü aus. Für ein 3 Gänge Menü zahlt man 32 € und bekommt ausgezeichnete, kreative Speisen serviert. Das Ambiente ist liebevoll gestaltet und passte perfekt zu unserem romantischen Diner. Die Gastgeberin war aufmerksam und sehr freundlich, und hat uns sogar zum Abschied kleine Gastgeschenke gemacht. Alles in allem haben wir einen wunderschönen Abend verbracht, mit Speisen, die ihresgleichen suchen.

My wife and I reserved a vegan 4-course menu and were not disappointed. Gluten-free was also possible. Very small restaurant, reservations requested. Both the service and the kitchen were operated by the (possible) owner. Tasty dishes, cultivated atmosphere (a bit too much decoration, pomp and trinkets for our opinion).

We loved it here! Amazing vegan & vegetarian food, cozy atmosphere and such lovely service! My highlight was the limoncello dessert. Definitely a vegan / veggie highlight in Munich!

Ich war gestern mit meiner Frau im Restaurant Vegelangelo in München und wir waren beide absolut begeistert. Das Restaurant ist sehr gut zu erreichen, sowohl mit der S-Bahn als auch mit dem Auto. Es ist klein, aber sehr gemütlich und stilvoll eingerichtet. Die Besitzerin ist eine wahre Künstlerin in der Küche. Sie macht alles selbst, vom Service bis zum Kochen. Und was für ein Kochen! Sie zaubert unglaublich kreative und leckere vegetarische Gerichte, die man so nirgendwo anders findet. Wir haben uns für ein Dreigängemenü entschieden, das uns 32 € pro Person gekostet hat. Das war meiner Meinung nach geradezu ein Schnäppchen für die Qualität und das Gesamtpaket, das wir bekommen haben. Wir hatten viel Spaß daran, zu raten, welche Zutaten sie verwendet hat, und sie hat uns gerne ihre Geheimnisse verraten. Sie war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Wir haben uns sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt. Das Restaurant Vegelangelo ist mehr als nur ein Ort zum Essen. Es ist ein Ort zum Erleben, Feiern und Genießen. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen und können es jedem empfehlen, der etwas Besonderes sucht. 👍

We had a delicious meal and were treated very nicely. The food was really plentiful and we were also asked how hungry we were (we had a menu) as we might have been given a larger portion. Definitely coming back!

Prepared vegetarian dishes, friendly service, beautiful decoration of the dishes, the decoration of the place depends on taste, I didn't like it very much but it is well thought out, that's clear. Even so, being alone in the restaurant, and the food didn't taste delicious but nothing out of this world. I mean it's a good place to go, but I had higher expectations.

This was a very special experience. Delicious food, super good quality for a relatively low price. She makes everything from scratch and also provides good service. A real one-woman show. Definitely eat here if you want something special, atmospheric and delicious!

You have to visit the Vegelangelo! The ambience is truly unique, very individual and put together with great attention to detail. It exudes its own charm, you just feel good. There are weekly changing menus, which makes the offering very varied and diverse. Also suitable for vegans! Our individual wishes (intolerances, vegan dishes) were perfectly addressed. You don't have to wait long for your food, but reserving a table is probably an advantage. The owner serves you personally, a very warm woman! The food was incredibly tasty, I tried things that I hadn't eaten before and was pleasantly surprised! The 3-course menu is worth the money, of course it is perhaps a little more expensive for the amount you get, but that was to be expected. We left completely full and satisfied and would love to come back!

It seems that this is a one “woman” show. Definitely not a restaurateur. If you like something like that and want to support it, you've come to the right place. Since waiter and cook are one person, guests also came in, waited and then left again. The food also seems pre-cooked, warmed up, and too elaborately prepared. Quality of food: 0/5 - lukewarm, soggy, not balanced, partly oversalted. Almost outrageous for the price. Tin glasses with a strong taste for juice spritzers. Ambiance: Mixture of Ikea, Buddha hardware store and junk. Overall overloaded. The armchairs with polyester covers are uncomfortable in the long run. Service: No flexibility, more demanding. Overall unpleasant. Price: Absolutely inappropriate It's a shame about all the tourists who get a bad impression of our city here. Then it's better to go to the Hofbräuhaus and ask for something vegetarian. It's a shame, because there aren't too many vegetarian restaurants in Munich yet.

A beautiful, vegan/vegetarian restaurant in the middle of Munich, where the friendly owner does everything herself. You can see this in the loving implementation of the dishes; you feel as if you were privately invited to eat. A small selection of dishes with a changing menu gives hope for quality. And you won't be disappointed - great food, clever recipes and a nice, cozy atmosphere invite you to linger. Finally vegetarian dishes that are surprising, spicy and tasty, a mix of oriental-Mediterranean-Asian. Here the cooking is not just one style, but rather delicious, vegetarian fusion cuisine beyond the obligatory salad with goat cheese and honey. The prices are manageable, and there's a little lucky bug for your wallet with the bill.

I stopped in spontaneously, which is not always possible depending on the number of reservations. Because as many have already mentioned, the owner does the kitchen and service alone. Considering that there are three variants to choose from for each course, some of which can also be chosen between vegetarian and vegan, and there were 5 other people in the restaurant, things went pretty smoothly. The atmosphere itself, due to the living room ambience and few guests, takes some getting used to, as it simply lacks a bit of liveliness. The restaurant tries to make up for this through its furnishings. But the food was very tasty and I had difficulty choosing because everything "turned on" me. Another lady found the pasta too salty, but I think she had never eaten coarse Parmesan before and misjudged its contribution to the seasoning.

This was, hands down, the best meal I had in Germany. The setting is decorated beautifully - the mix of styles and cultures is enriching, much like the food. She served an exquisite three-course meal. I chose the beet sampler as my hors d'oeuvre. The mix of flavors and textures almost tasted like meat, but without the gamey flavor. Then I had the schnitzel. Wow! Divine! And for dessert I had the whipped cream and fresh berries with brandy and cookies. It was amazing. I wish I had known about this place sooner. I would have eaten every dinner here while I was in Munich. And this place is way underpriced. Be sure to leave a good tip for the chef and her wait staff. They deserve it! Hats off to the chef!

Delicious vegetarian/vegan food that's well put together. Could really tell the effort the owner/chef/server put in to design the menu. We did the four course (two starters, one main, one dessert). Our party of four all enjoyed the food a lot. The restaurant is super relaxing and unique felt like dining in a private restaurant. The owner was super nice and we had a lovely experience.

There were two of us here for dinner and neither of us are full-time vegetarians (yet?). The menu was great - everything full of flavor, good portions and reasonable prices! Even a “simple” jacket potato with green sauce was something very special. As other reviews describe, the owner does everything herself. That worked well that evening even when the restaurant was full. She was very friendly and accommodating! We'll definitely come back here.

It was weird. You don't get tap water, but you get energetically charged water. The restaurant is run single-handedly by the boss, who we have completely overwhelmed. Our reservation was for four people. When we arrived there were three of us and alone in the restaurant. Two more came later and that was probably too much for the lady. In any case, she was no longer friendly. I had the 2 course menu, small salad and pasta with pesto. You could also say overcooked pasta with a side salad for €22. Oh well. It didn't convince me. If I look at the other reviews, it usually works better.

A truly wonderful experience. If you are in Munich and want to have a really good meal, you should pay a visit to this gourmet restaurant. We had the vegan 6-course menu with wine accompaniment and had an experience of taste explosions and beautiful feelings behind us :). The prices are obviously not comparable to a chip shop, but the food is worth every penny. Hopefully the opportunity will arise again.

I went to this really beautiful restaurant with a friend today. So far I haven't been able to bring myself to give a Google review for anything, but we've now decided that this place and the super nice hostess really deserve it. The food was incredibly beautifully prepared and tasted delicious. The price-performance ratio also leaves nothing to be desired. The restaurant is also decorated really nicely and charmingly and there is a relaxed and very pleasant atmosphere. As soon as you enter you immediately feel at home. Ms. Stegmayr welcomed us very warmly and made sure everything was in order the whole time. All in all, definitely worth 5 stars!

Simply outstanding!!! Anyone who has some time will be rewarded with fantastic dishes. It is a one-woman business, so it can sometimes take a while. But the food is really great. In addition, a little deceleration is good and you can endure it in the cozy atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

Today we went to Legangelo. The shop was absolutely empty and no one noticed us at first, as if they weren't expecting anyone to come by. My husband ordered a nightstand and I just ordered a large water. The waitress' reaction to my order was beyond strange. She said: "This cafe serves food and not just drinks, but today I'm making an exception for you because we're open for the first day since the Corona situation". To say that I was surprised or disappointed and annoyed is saying nothing. I've been to many countries and different restaurants, but this is the first time I've heard something like this in my life. This location is just a shame in Munich. Due to my health situation, I have to fast for a while and only drink water, but even if that wasn't the case, there's no way this waitress should be so rude. It seems to me that she doesn't enjoy work and just wants to make money from main courses, the human element in her seems to have completely disappeared, so, in my opinion, such people are not suitable for gastronomy. There was also a plant next to our table full of mosquitoes that were flying around the whole time and we were served the water glass with a mosquito in it too. So when I said this, she took it out with her finger and almost put the glass back on the table, but then she saw our faces full of wonder and took it away. So, stay away from the strange shop!

ATTENTION: Reservation required as it is always a 2-3 course menu. It needs to be planned in the kitchen for the whole evening. The service is extremely friendly and competent, and the atmosphere is nice. The food was good and the menu was pretty creative, although it was a bit too salty for my taste.

This place is quaint, well decorated, and generally you need a reservation. Interesting vegan flavors, but the food was far too salty and oily for our taste. Also unlike some other vegan places in Germany, the menu did not have any demarcation of common allergens.

An appealing atmosphere, an interesting selection of dishes and a warm hostess. Lots of nice details. For the price, however, I have to say that the taste component didn't ultimately convince me. Based purely on the food, I would give it 3 stars with a lot of goodwill, as the dishes (from all of us) had quite a bit of salt on them. Way too much for my taste. It's a shame because the ingredients didn't really come to the fore and the effort was put to shame. There is one star plus for service and ambience. Personally, I have other vegetarian “favorites” in town.

Delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes

We only have vegetarians in our family, so we are always looking for good vegetarian restaurants. The Vegelangelo is something special in many ways. Firstly, the location itself. The restaurant is quite small, which contributes to a very quiet atmosphere, but a table reservation is necessary. Personally, I like the ambience, it is very individually furnished, for me it exudes a bit of 90s charm with the many decorative items, but why not, I haven't seen heart pillows with arms in a long time. I don't know the style from any other restaurant, I kind of like it. The menu has a pleasant number of dishes, there are about five starters and 6-7 main courses (not counting soups and desserts). That's fine for an occasional visit and the menu changes sometimes. In terms of price, the Vegelangelo is not a restaurant that you would visit every week. I would describe the price level as upscale - considering the size of the portions. The portions are not huge, but are designed so that you can order at least an appetizer and/or a dessert in addition to the main course. So you shouldn't come here extremely hungry. The food is very tasty! The restaurant is well suited for couples or smaller groups. I wouldn't take my children here, I just don't think that's right (according to a previous review, children are not welcome here, which would of course be a shame). But we have always been here as a couple - three times so far - and will definitely come back.

On Monday we were able to enjoy a 6-course menu with wine accompaniment at Vegelangelo. The previous email exchange already ensured an individually tailored experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant is simply personal, individual and cozy. You can tell that the cook and landlady puts her heart and soul into her work and that the well-being of the guests is a priority. The taste of the food was first class and we felt fantastic. 1st course: Gazpacho 2nd course: Beetroot carpaccio with papaya chutney and creme fraiche 3rd course: two types of tomato and wakame seaweed salad 4th course: braised beets with coriander pesto and (turmeric?) polenta 5th course: Linguine with black pepper, truffles and parmesan 6th course: Limmoncello cream with Amarena cherry and apricots Thank you very much for this wonderful evening, we will definitely come back!

Hello, I had dinner here with my husband yesterday. He was very skeptical at first because he is actually the meat eater among us and I think there are great foods that you miss out on as a meat eater. Everything happened here. Very friendly and delicious, the food had to be salted as desired, but of course everyone has their own taste. I can only recommend vegan. Thank you for your nice hospitality

Not very good. "Flatbread" with hummus turned out to be a few slices of cheap bread and a few little bowls with different in it. One person waiting amd cooking. Tea cost 6.90. None of thee meals our group had was worth it, really.
