Café Ignaz in München

Ich war heute bei Café Ignaz zu Mittag und habe leider eine gemischte Erfahrung gemacht. Einerseits war das esser lecker, und der Kuchen hat sehr gut geschmeckt, aber ich fand die Location und den Service unterdurchschnittlich, nicht besonders zuvorkommend oder freundlich, und sehr knapp. Die Atmosphäre war gut, da es klassische Musik gab.

Sehr schönes Café und riesige Auswahl an wunderschönen Kuchen.

Wow, ich war sehr überrascht vom Essen. War super lecker!! Ihr macht sehr sehr gute Arbeit 🤩 Die Spätzle werden selbst gemacht, eine große Auswahl an Torten & Kuchen und Getränkekarte. Ein etabliertes Restaurant seit 42 Jahren. Die Gerichte passen sich der Saison an, wir hatten im April Spargel & Bärlauch auf der Speisekarte. Sehr sehr empfehlenswert! Danke

1A Laden! Vegi/Vegane-Vollwert-Bäckerei/Gastro-Kneipe mit krassem Qualitätsfocus ohne irgendwelche Oberflächlichkeiten, seit 42 Jahren! Leider am letzten Abend erst entdeckt, sonst wären wir noch 2-3 hin zum Essen: unglaubliche und kreative Auswahl die die Tradition (eher die Backstube) mit moderne (eher die Küche) verbindet. Und das alles zu bombigem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis! Bin Gastro Insider und Schock-verliebt 😍♥️ Danke auch an die sehr herzliche Service 🙏 PS: auch extra Mittags Karte!

Super toller Laden, den wir als Touris zufällig beim Vorbeilaufen entdeckt haben. Seit 42 Jahren sind Ignaz und Tochter dabei. Viel Auswahl guter Gerichte, viele vegetarisch oder vegan. Preis Leistung fast schon unverschämt gut. Netter Service. Alles oder fast alles bio, hausgemachte Kuchen und Torten, die sich anscheinend auch bei den lokalen Menschen größer Beliebtheit erfreuen. Zurecht. Ein echter Geheimtipp für München etwas fernab von der Attacke. Gerne wieder.

Sehr gutes außergewöhnliches Essen zu fairen Preisen

Ein kleines zauberhaftes Lokal mit vegetarisch/veganen Essen, es hat super geschmeckt. Und der bayrische Aperolspritz war eine echte Entdeckung. Ich komme bestimmt wieder.

Ich war gerade im Café Ignaz und hatte ungelogen den besten Kuchen, den ich je gegessen habe. Der Mandel-Zimt-Kuchen ist absolut next level – saftig, perfekt gewürzt und einfach besonders. Große Empfehlung! Dazu hatte ich einen Hafer-Cappuccino, der ebenfalls richtig gut war. Besonders positiv: die riesige vegane Auswahl – man merkt, dass hier wirklich mitgedacht wird. Der Service ist etwas robust und die Einrichtung eher altmodisch, aber genau das gibt dem Ganzen einen eigenen, charmanten Flair. Ich komme definitiv wieder, sobald ich das nächste Mal in München bin.

Seit vielen Jahren eines meiner Stammlokale in München. Das Konzept ist ganz einfach und bewährt: Ein vegetarisches oder veganes Gericht und danach ein Stück Kuchen aus der stets reichhaltig bestückten Kuchentheke. Das alles zum unschlagbaren Preis und in familiärer Atmosphäre. Schön, dass es das Ignaz nach so vielen Jahren noch immer genau so gibt!

Ein wirkliches Highlight für den Tag. Leckere vegane Hauptspeisen und Kuchen. Freundlicher und zuvorkommender Service. Gerne jederzeit wieder.

I've been going there very often for a long time. Good prices, good portions, and a cake included with every portion. Very friendly staff.

The cappuccino was really poorly made, the milk was obviously frothed way too hot. Service was slow, and then I didn't even thank you for the tip.

Come for the cake and stay for the lunch and dinner food. Café Ignaz ist a quaint neighborhood bakery and small restaurant with vegan and gluten free options in the heart of the Schwabing neighborhood. The food menu is a fantastic selection of vegetarian homemade style dishes (Hausmannskost) (gf and vegan options available) where a piece of cake is included with the lunch menu. Don't be fooled by the narrow isle by the cake counter, there are two adjacent rooms with indoor seating, with capacity for 20-25 people. The food and cakes are delicious.

A nice variety of different cakes, including vegan ones. But as most of the German cakes, they lack flavour. Simply tasteless. And they put fruits in some odd gelatin mass instead of serving them fresh on the top of the cake or turning them into compote. If you are used to the insipid pastry, you’ll like it.

Great coffee with absolutely authentic service. The food is delicious, and for a relatively small price, you can get lunch and cake (which are truly delicious). I'll be back and recommend it to everyone.

Seit Jahr(zehnten) immer wieder wunderbar. Tolles Nachbarschafts-Cafe-Restaurant. Bodenständige und teils durchaus kreative vegetarische-vegane Kompositionen. Und für mich mitunter die besten Kuchen, Torten (unter anderem auch vegan). Toll, dass es zu jedem Essen ein Stück der Leckereien gibt. Auch wenn man es dank der grossen Portionen oft kaum mehr schafft. Leckere Bio-Säfte und andere Getränke. Super freundliche Besitzer und andere Menschen, die einem den Aufenthalt versüssen. Viele Stammgäste.

Always worth a visit, and you don't have to worry about whether it's made with gelatin or not. The cakes are delicious. We keep coming back. My favorite: vegan almond cinnamon cake.

Instead of a dreamy quiche, a "dreamy" quiche! Stressed staff and my friend's cake was completely tasteless! What a shame, because it would have been a good option for Sunday.

Discovered by chance, I was able to eat a gluten-free main course and dessert 🙂 The main course (potatoes and vegetables) was very good, the raspberry cake was good, but the chocolate cake was too hard (like a 3 or 4-layer biscuit that was impossible to cut). I recommend this place for the warm welcome and the fast service on the terrace. I particularly like the gluten-free dishes 👌🏻

Exceptionally creative and delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes with friendly service and an artistic ambiance—and every main course comes with a piece of heavenly cake!

I first discovered this wonderful little café through a recommendation – and how lucky I am! Since I'm gluten-intolerant and avoid sugar as much as possible, I only go for the vegan, gluten- and sugar-free cakes here. So far, I've tried the cherry, poppy-seed, and rhubarb varieties. My absolute favorite is poppy seed – I've loved it since I was a child – and the "Ignaz version" completely won me over. It lacks nothing in terms of flavor, and the consistency is also top-notch – a truly worthy alternative to the original. The friendly and knowledgeable ladies and gentlemen at the café are happy to explain the ingredients and carefully package the pieces for transport so that nothing gets squashed. For so much passion, friendliness, love, and enjoyment, I'm happy to give it a full 5 stars!

Great cafe! A huge selection of cakes, including a lot of vegan ones, and at a fair price! Main courses haven't been tested yet, but they sound very tasty and are very fairly priced, especially for lunch. The owners are super friendly and cater to every request. The coffee is also delicious and I can highly recommend a visit.

A very nice restaurant. Staff is friendly, food is tasty. They're not fancy dishes, but they're down-to-earth and best of all: so much of it is vegan!! A wonderful place to relax and feast on a vegetarian diet. Most of the dishes are even vegan, both savory and sweet. The decor is bright and ornate, the music is not intrusive and the service is very friendly and accommodating. The general atmosphere among the staff and guests is very warm, although there is a good mix of ages. If you are looking for a place with vegan delicacies in Munich, you will find exactly what your heart desires in Café Ignaz!

The food here is amazing! Simply delicious and absolutely recommended!! As if the main course wasn't tasty enough, there's also a free piece of cake from the lavishly stocked cake display case. We were last there spontaneously on a late Sunday afternoon and got a table for two.

Café Ignaz is simply enchanting! Cute, small and with an atmosphere that immediately reminds you of visiting grandma at home. In addition to the cozy interior, the café also scores with a great menu: not only do you have fantastic homemade cakes, but also really tasty dishes. Particularly noteworthy is the selection of vegan options - there is something for everyone! The service is warm and attentive, and you immediately feel at home. A wonderful place for a little break, whether for coffee or food. Absolutely recommended!

Wow. What a wonderful experience at Cafe Ignaz. The cafe has been around for over 30 years (!!), is an institution and also has its own charm. We felt like we were in our own grandma's living room. Not intrusive. Not a bit cheesy. Attentive and funny service. Delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes. We treated ourselves to gluten-free pastries, cakes as well as great tasting java coffee (half coffee, half chocolate) and latte macchiato (with peppermint). We were definitely not here for the last time. Next time we'll try the unusual dishes.

5 factorial - five basics in x variations. Potato, dates, carrot combinations on 20 pages. Carb with carb. You can do it. All cakes coated with the side mist flavor of the deep fryer. But the chocolate tart is so powerful that you can still eat it can eat. Staff is friendly, nice and quick.

Food ok, but it is not a particularly good quality. The menu almost exclusively has dishes with gnocchi/ravioli/maultaschen/Schupfnudeln, where I doubt that these are made in-house and that a chef is on duty. The cake looks good, but unfortunately I couldn't tolerate it at all.

Very nice food and excellent value for money!

Was recommended by Mit Freude as a café with gluten-free cakes. However, the rhubarb cake consisted almost entirely of a gelatin mass with an unappetizing consistency. The atmosphere was stressful, the interior was cramped, dark and uncomfortable, and the cappuccino was bitter. I usually never write bad reviews, but unfortunately I can't recommend this café.

Always a pleasure, it's just great there, the selection of drinks and food! There used to be a Sunday brunch, for which reservations had to be made by phone from 8 a.m. :-). The best thing is the always friendly service!

A bit hidden, but we still found this great place. Super nice service, super delicious food and very pleasant to sit outside. One point is deducted from the ambience for the sanitary facilities, which were not nice. But that shouldn't spoil the overall impression.

Either too expensive or ripped off: Paid €23 for 2 cappuccinos and 2 pieces of cake. Unfortunately he didn't react straight away and only realized later that this wasn't possible.

My visit today made me a little suspicious, we ordered 2 pastries and 2 hot drinks. The cappuccino didn't have much to do with a cappuccino... the peppermint tea was very solid with fresh peppermint, which cost a total of 7.60. The pieces cost 1.50 (cookie) and 3.10 (nut corner) each, we were charged a total of €16 (with a tip I had paid €17) for them, I only noticed the mistake when I was leaving and I didn't feel like it to turn around again because we had already waited a long time to even pay and we were in a hurry. Paying looked like this, the lady added up in her head what we had eaten and charged me in cash without an invoice, so it's no wonder that mistakes like this happen. I would ask you to use your cash register systems and hand out invoices, this is required by every other business.

Visit on a Sunday afternoon. I wanted to order coffee and cake at the counter. I was told that the cake had to be ordered inside and then the coffee at the table. We then went outside with the cake. The waiter, unfortunately extremely overwhelmed with the situation, very negative and annoyed, said that we would have to wait to order. After almost 30 minutes without this being possible, I went in to pay for the cake. It was then explained to me that I should have ordered the coffee at the counter. It is completely understandable that with two employees and a full house it can take a lot longer. But then please say that right away, then you can adjust to it.
