Delicious wild boar goulash from the seasonal menu. Super friendly service and a great atmosphere made our visit complete. We'll definitely be back.

We went there twice and it was absolutely fantastic!!! Very friendly service, beautiful decor, and the pizza area and brewery were real eye-catchers. Delicious food, a great selection on the menu—there's truly something for everyone! The pizza and tarte flambée are highly recommended. A great selection of drinks, including many non-alcoholic cocktails. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to try the desserts, but we checked them out at neighboring tables. Fantastic! There's also a play area with a play kitchen for younger guests. Clean restrooms! On both visits, we enjoyed a lovely and cozy atmosphere.

The Vareler Brauhaus is definitely worth a visit. The food is delicious with generous portions. The kids had some fantastic kids' pizzas. There's a small play area inside to pass the time while waiting. If we saw correctly, there's also plenty of space for the kids to play outside. (We didn't use it because it was late.) It's best to make a reservation in advance, though, as the restaurant seemed to be very busy. We were lucky enough to get one of the last available tables.

Unfortunately the ambience is the only thing that impresses. The service doesn't seem to enjoy their job. My wife's steak was cooked all the way through and riddled with tendons, my children's vegan currywurst was okay but it was missing the bread, the salad supposedly had a vegan dressing even after we asked for it but tasted just like the other side salads. I had the brewmaster platter: everything tasted greasy because of the bacon and spices. The steak was the same as my wife's, the pork was cooked for too long. After a visit in the summer we wanted to give the restaurant a second chance. Unfortunately not much has changed except for the fact that the staff are even more lackluster. It's a shame because we really like the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Such a shame! I ordered the currywurst (vegan) here. It tasted good in itself, which is why I'm still giving it at least 2/5. Everything else, however, was a disgrace, especially for the price. The salad had the same dressing as all the others and was definitely not vegan. The portion was quite small overall, and the bread that was supposed to come with it was forgotten. To top it all off, the service was irritated and indifferent. Not recommended, especially if you're on a plant-based diet.

We've been there several times since it opened, and it's always been okay. The quality of the pizza depends heavily on the chef—sometimes it's very good, sometimes it's "meh." The schnitzel dishes are tasty but not for those with a big appetite. It's a real shame, though, that the very ambitious price increase (10-50%) for pizza and tarte flambée dishes has been implemented this fall. It's no longer worth the longer drive, even in the hope of finding a "good" pizza chef...

In the parking lot, we encountered some guests who advised us not to go in. They claimed the tables weren't even clean. We wanted to see for ourselves. The result: no clean table, no proper reception. Normally, in restaurants, you're shown to a table – here, they just said, "Yes, the table over there"… and then gave us a completely wrong table number. The waiter refused to accommodate any requests. He told us to simply order something else. Even our order for "fried potatoes without bacon" was skillfully ignored, and we were served rosemary potatoes instead. At that point, I would have preferred to walk right out of the restaurant. If you don't contact a waiter via the QR code, no one comes. A younger waitress seemed new, so it would be unfair to review her here. Overall, the place has good potential; the food was good, and the ambiance was pleasant. It's actually great with the beer, but not under these circumstances.

The price/performance ratio for a vacation spot is absolutely fine. The food was incredibly delicious; we had the brewery platter and a chocolate fudge. Absolutely delicious, and the meat was cooked to perfection and plentiful. The service was super friendly and not pushy, but always present. The food came fairly quickly, but it wasn't overly crowded either. All in all, I'd happily go back. The only minor issue was that the table outside wasn't clean, and they didn't bring me an ashtray, but I can live with that.

I can't understand the previous reviews. There's definitely room for improvement in the kitchen and service at both establishments – including the eel and crab. We experienced this with six people: guests were forgotten, orders were messed up, and you get the feeling the guest won't be back anytime soon, so what? Unfortunately, that's true. Identifying fried potatoes as such on the menu is quite a feat. For me, in both establishments, it was mashed potatoes. At least the beer was good. Incidentally, a no-go: listing a soda on the menu for a good €6.00 ​​without specifying the quantity and then serving only 0.2 is pretty bold. I can't comment on the rooms – there are plenty of alternatives. It's a shame I haven't received a response to my assessment yet. There's certainly room for improvement in the service and kitchen, as the negative reviews from other reviewers show. The knuckle of pork was already dead before it was served dry after a long wait. I could tell you more. In my opinion, those responsible have a duty, or are they counting on new guests who don't know the place coming in? Angry and disappointed guests don't help any business survive times of crisis; they're just negative reviews. There are other ways to win new guests. You have to convince them with your performance. Negative reviews hurt everyone, although the increase in sales isn't necessarily related to the VAT reduction for the restaurant industry. Service and performance have to be right. Unfortunately, in my opinion, that's not yet the case (also applies to "Aal und Krabbe"). Perhaps it would be better to close the restaurant and focus on the core business. Two parts of the business were retained, as the positive reviews show. The beer is excellent.

I had a good experience at this location. The atmosphere was excellent, and the staff was very diligent. They were a bit uncoordinated at times, but I appreciated their attentiveness—it's better to be asked if everything is okay too many times than not enough. The food was tasty, although I found the salad with mushrooms I ordered to be a bit overpriced for what it was. The draft beer, especially the wheat beer, was delicious. Overall, it's a solid choice for a meal and a great beer.

Outrageous!!! I ordered Leberkäse (liver sausage) and received a completely burnt piece, the consistency of a shoe sole!! The waiter took it back and said I'd get a new meal. The "new" meal came with the old plate, with egg, etc., reheated in the microwave – probably for the third time – and the "new" piece of Leberkäse (liver sausage) had lightened slightly and was also still tough and inedible. Absolutely not recommended – except for the beer, perhaps.

Yesterday, we ate at the Brauhaus with four adults and two children. The food was good. Brewery-style, without any pretense. The service was friendly and attentive. The bouncy castle was great for the kids. One thing I do have to criticize, though, is that the only alternative to fried potatoes is mashed potatoes!!! In my opinion, they should at least serve fries, especially since a lot of children eat there. Our granddaughter had the children's schnitzel, also with mashed potatoes, which she wouldn't touch. She definitely would have eaten fries with ketchup. And I would have preferred croquettes or fries, too. The six of us would be very happy to see a change.

We would have liked to order dessert, but we were either simply ignored or no staff could be found. It was particularly disappointing that I once had to wait over ten minutes for my drink – even though the restaurant was quiet at the time. At times, we even felt like we could have just left without paying – the staff probably wouldn't have even noticed.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We had to wait two hours for our food without any prior explanation as to why it would take so long. We noticed that other guests, some with small children, had to wait over two and a half hours for their food. After repeated inquiries, the food finally arrived. For one dish, we were asked if we could leave out the mashed potatoes and have a baked potato instead. This was confirmed, and the potato was then charged an additional €14. After a lengthy discussion, we were refunded the €14. When we wanted to pay, the waiter told us that there was only one person in the kitchen preparing the food. That's an absolute no-go. We don't know if we'll go back. This is absolutely terrible.

The ambiance in the brewery is very nice. The lighting is well-matched to the space, and the decor is appropriate for a brewery. The food was good and hearty, and the portions were filling. Unfortunately, the service was very chaotic and not coordinated. We were there with a larger group, and we didn't get our food until everyone else had finished their meals. The table was only cleared upon request. The wait times for drinks, refills (dessert), and the like were sometimes enormous and disproportionate to the price and occupancy of the restaurant.

Everything was beautifully presented. The food, like the pizza, was delicious and lovingly prepared for the price; you can't complain. Much better than Mamma Mia, which claims to be Italian but prepares its pizza carelessly.

The ambiance was pleasant, the service friendly but disorganized. The food was disappointing: the soup was lukewarm, the fried potatoes were either black or not roasted at all. The schnitzel was very thick and cooked very dark, the veggie burger was absolutely poorly cooked (just a patty between two sandwich slices) without any side dish. The kids' meals must have been kept warm for a while, as they were already slightly dry. The mashed potatoes were completely overseasoned... When asked and criticized, the staff simply explained that there was only one chef on duty that evening. They need to be better organized with so many seats. It's certainly not satisfactory for the kitchen team either. Personally, it's hard to understand when you're spending over €100...

A beautiful place, great ambiance, great outside for kids with a playground and bouncy castle. The beer was good. The food was moderately good; my daughter's pasta wasn't bad, but my husband's onion soup was a bit thin, but OK. My baked potato with a side salad was unfortunately a disappointment. The potato was a bit bigger than a baby potato and completely burnt. The side salad was essentially the main course, which consisted of iceberg lettuce and a few cucumbers and tomatoes. The waitress couldn't convey my feedback, or even understand it, probably due to a language barrier. There were three tables occupied, and we waited almost an hour for the food, which is pretty awful for what we ordered. It's a shame, though; the restaurant looks really great and has potential.

Seven of us visited the Vareler Brauhaus for the first time. The ambiance is very nice and fits the brewery style – our first impression was positive. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Even bringing the menus and taking our orders took an unusually long time. The appetizer arrived after about 25–30 minutes, the drinks only afterward – despite ordering together. The ordered water only arrived after three requests, over half an hour later. Things got even more chaotic with the main course: Three meals were delivered, the rest – four pizzas – arrived significantly later. The food was already finished by the time the others even got their pizzas. Eating together was therefore impossible. Dessert never arrived – we waited 20 minutes in vain for the ice cream menu we ordered. Afterward, we went to the checkout, disappointed. Conclusion: The food was fine – the pizzas were okay, and the roast pork was praised. But the service was disastrously slow and uncoordinated. Orders were late or didn't arrive at all, the staff was inattentive, and the overall flow was chaotic. Absolutely unsuitable for a social evening with several people. It's a shame, because the ambiance had potential. Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant experience—we probably won't be back.

We were here on Friday evening at 8:50. Unfortunately, the service was very overwhelmed. Waiters were constantly looking for the people who ordered drinks. Several times, drinks that weren't meant for us arrived at our table, and we had to wait a very long time for them. The food then arrived at 9:00 p.m., 70 minutes after we arrived. Sorry, that's not possible! When we complained, all we got was "Everything went wrong today." An apology would have been nicer. Or simply treat us to one of your house schnapps as a small consolation. That would be a nice gesture, and at the same time, you'd promote your homemade schnapps. Unfortunately, the service and the way they handled complaints weren't that professional or skillful. Two stars from me anyway, because the food was okay. And I personally found the homemade beers very tasty. However, I won't be coming back, because I don't want to wait that long without an apology again.

From the drinks to the food to the dessert, it was a successful evening. The service was excellent, fast, friendly, and attentive. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. A special highlight was the open area with the firing system and pizza oven, where you could watch the pizza being artfully swirled through the air and then landed in the oven with its delicious toppings.

I got a really good Pizza Diavola, and my request to replace the pepperoni with onions was readily fulfilled. The pizzas are also large enough to be filling. The crust is thin and crispy enough to eat hand-cut triangles. Mille grazie per questo! Now for dessert. I have rarely had such an exquisite chocolate soufflé. A feast in the mouth! The accompanying vanilla ice cream was rather average and could have tasted more vanilla. And if chocolate sauce is poured over everything before serving, then please add the waffles that you touch while eating them later. I know, that's nitpicking. But such a perfect piece of chocolate cake with warm chocolate sauce in the middle definitely deserves a high standard of accompaniment! By the way, the home-brewed beer should not go unmentioned... delicious!

We were there for the second time and were disappointed again. Ordered two dishes, one was cold and the other arrived about 15 minutes later. The cold dish was replaced with a new one (much to the waiter's annoyance). After that, the waiter was very inattentive and irritated, unfortunately no longer customer-friendly. A simple apology was unfortunately not forthcoming. There won't be a next time at this restaurant, even though the ambiance is very nice.

There are no traditional fries as a side dish, but mashed potatoes or fried potatoes. The staff, consisting of young men on this evening, were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The brewmaster's relaxed presentation on beer brewing and the guided tour through the sparkling clean and shiny brewing kettles were excellent. We definitely recommend stopping by.

The brewery platter had a completely overcooked rump steak (shoe sole) and cold vegetables on the plate. The baked potato was black and extremely hard. The drinks were good, but the staff still seem to be wandering around a lot. The atmosphere is really great, and we'll try it again, but then we'll probably get a pizza. It's freshly made and looked very good from a distance.

We were invited there for breakfast today. 23 guests with table reservation. Very nice atmosphere. That's about it. It was well attended, I think around 70-80 guests. There was only cutlery on the tables, but not even enough for the number of people at the table. So first I got a thermos of coffee and a load of mugs. But there was no milk or sugar at the tables. Go ahead and get a load of both. Then to the buffet, which unfortunately was large enough for about 30-40 people. The quality was ok if you get what you get. When it was my turn there were no more bread baskets, there was no more trout, no more scrambled eggs, no more meatballs and only 2 bratwursts. It was always refilled, but since the plates were far too small for the crowd, the man in the kitchen and the lady at the buffet didn't come close to keeping up. The two young women at the counter were probably there for the first time and didn't know what to do. They didn't even know where the toilet was. My conclusion: I hope this gets read and turned off. These deficiencies can easily be remedied. Many guests there had the same opinion. It would be a shame for this beautiful location.

The new building of the Vareler Brauhaus is a success, even if it's very noisy inside. The food was very bad. I had pork fillet with mushroom sauce, fried potatoes, and salad. The three slices of fillet were about 1 cm thin. They lay burnt black and brown on top of the sauce. Hard, inedible! My complaint was accepted, and I was served a new plate after about 10 minutes. This time, the fillet slices were hidden under the sauce, but almost as scorched as the first time. Obviously, whoever prepared the fillet doesn't know how to handle fillet. The pizza looked the best, but since I didn't eat it, I can't rate it either. The dark beer was great. I'm definitely not eating there again!

This restaurant deserves top marks for both the food and the ambiance. I'd especially like to highlight the outstanding service. It was our first time in this beautiful location Unfortunately the breakfast was so-so No grain rolls, just normal baked rolls. After asking, they said: I'll get some from the kitchen. After about 15 minutes of asking again, there were no more. We were there at nine o'clock, which was a shame. After breakfast we sat in the group for a while longer. We have now been at the Hotel Brauhaus Varel for 3 days. We had a large double room with a terrace where the dog was also welcome. The room was very clean and was cleaned every day. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was offered in the new brewery. It was a great breakfast buffet where nothing was missing. The evening menu and dinner were also very tasty. Great restaurant, nice rooms, delicious food at reasonable prices and very child friendly. It was too loud for us, but it was also very, very crowded.

I was supposed to pay €9 for drinks at carnival, then I gave €50 and got €11 back. When I politely pointed this out, I was told that there was a €20 note on top of his money stack, even though no one else had paid after me. I was simply asked to write an ad and was simply rejected.

Cabbage trip with over 500 people, service subpar, selection of drinks - there were no standard drinks like sparkling wine, there was no orange juice with vodka either, Aperol and Lillet were only given out in the finished small bottles, after 2 hours there were no more, there was also gin, after 2 hours there was no more tonic water. From 11 p.m. they suddenly had champagne and Aperol and Lillet to mix, as it should be. But this only became known by chance. You couldn't eat together with your group because the buffet wasn't enough for over 500 people, so you either only got kale and no side dishes, or vice versa. It was abysmally bad. The Kasseler was dry as hell. The air in the event hall was a disaster, there was no ventilation - I expect something different with the new building, as well as only 2 toilets for guests in the event hall itself. Outside there were only toilets that couldn't be opened properly at first because there was something hanging over them, but when the problem was solved you could only use them without washing your hands. Paid so much money for madness. The only positive thing about this evening was DJ Westi - the music was great!

Unfortunately not at all satisfied. Service wasn't particularly good. The menu and the food are not recommended. Apart from pizza and baked potatoes with sour cream, not a single meatless dish. The butter for the pizza rolls ordered was completely salty and inedible. Pizza base ok... but vegetable ingredients were spread cold on the pizza after baking... and the supposed parmesan was cheap grated hard cheese. The best part of the evening was the beer. That was good. But we won't visit the store again in the future.

Went today with 4 adults and two children. The service was completely overwhelmed. 1 out of 4 waiters had a plan. The others walked around aimlessly. We waited 80 minutes for our food. A family with two small children had to wait 120 minutes. Food was okay, nothing special. The pizzas are completely soggy with Morzarella juice and oil. The beer wasn't a highlight.

The three of us ate here today. The food was very good and also plentiful. We ordered as a cart. The beers we tried as well. The pale ale in particular was delicious. But the wheat doesn't come close to pale ale either. There is a nice little children's play area inside in an area of ​​the restaurant where not too many guests are disturbed but you still sit centrally. There is also a playground outside. The service was good, nice and attentive. We also picked up a few beers. Carrier of 4 €7.50, that's okay for craft beer. Recommendation! We'll be back when we're nearby.

Today was great again as always.

Super tasty and lots of choice at the fish buffet.

I can't rate the food in the brewery. We were passing through and passed the hotel. Private brewery and distillery was too tempting. So stopped and had a very nice chat with a really warm employee. Took the 6 “sample bottles” and the whiskey with us. What can I say, the Pilsner and the Lager are outstandingly good and the whiskey is also really a pleasure, at least for my palate. Online orders will follow and I can only recommend it to everyone. I think that when the restaurant and bar are finished at the hotel, it will be a highlight of the region.

We are on vacation in Varel and had dinner last night. My husband ordered grilled salmon with boiled potatoes and I ordered fried potatoes with scrambled eggs and umbrellas. Everything was super tasty and we'll try the buffet on Wednesday evening 😜from what we saw and it tells us it's going to be delicious.

I'm sorry, but the breakfast wasn't good. Even for €17.90, the quality and presentation of the food is just not right. The simplest, poorly baked industrial rolls and cheap cold cuts. This is the continuation of the evening buffet that we got there about eight weeks ago. I then wrote an email without leaving a review, which remained unanswered despite asking. This evening buffet was also bad. But no matter the service was great, the view outside on the terrace was great, you can forget everything else. I won't go there anymore. Enough now.

Varel is not exactly just a stone's throw away from Bremen. Nevertheless, I'm happy to take the hour drive to eat eel and crab in the restaurant. I meet up with friends and we enjoy the extensive buffet. I am an absolute fish fan, but there is also a good selection of delicious dishes for non-fish lovers. The employees are very friendly and accommodating. I would love to come back and can recommend it to others. I also like the digestive walk to the Varel dike that we take afterwards.

Ich war vor 5 Jahren mit Arbeitskollegen dort. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Abend.. Aufgrund dessen hab ich mich riesig gefreut wieder dort zu essen. Leider wurde ich nicht nur enttäuscht sondern ich sag mal abgezockt. Personal das nicht weiß welcher Fisch präsentiert wird is für mich an der Nordseeküste ein no Go.Selbst die Bedienung hat irgendwie Recht gegeben. Mich wird man dort zu diesen Preisen die ich für die präsentierte Qualität unverschämt finde nicht noch einmal sehen. Spart Euch das Geld und sucht bessere Locations die es dort überall gibt. All in all a nice restaurant, price performance was okay. The dessert and the meat need some work. Service was very attentive and on point.

We wanted to go out for fries with our two children. The portions were ridiculously small, so even the 3 year old felt very hungry after eating. Mayonnaise and ketchup were charged extra - mini packets. The fries weren't exceptionally good. Probably wholesale goods. The playground next to the tables outside is nicely done and fenced in, so it's easy to spend a long time there with children. Nevertheless, we won't be eating there again - it's just outrageously expensive for the food delivered!!!
