No recommendation!!!! We were there last night with 4 adults and 2 children. It was reserved in advance. The cards came quickly and then??? We waited, guests who arrived after us were served before us. The restaurant was half full. After our next table, who also came into the restaurant after us, was served, I called the waiter over to us (after waiting 45 minutes). We were finally able to order the drinks. On this train, our son held out the menu and said he was hungry, he wanted spaghetti. The waiter said he would take the food order straight away and he wasn't seen again. After another 15 minutes of waiting and no further response from the waiter (2 waiters happily walk past us without anything in their hands) and still no drinks (1 hour waiting time) We got up and left. I find it an absolute disgrace that you are ignored like this and don't get any reaction from the waiters even after asking. Complete arrogance and ignorance. If you think you have to sit on such a high horse, then you shouldn't be surprised about such an assessment. I will not enter this store again.

I had the dike plate and was very happy with everything. The nice waiter had charming difficulty remembering the order without writing it down. The beer selection could be more regional and better.

Food was good, but took over an hour to arrive - on an average Tuesday evening with no holidays or events. Demands about waiting times were rudely dismissed. In a normal restaurant, for example, this is how it is handled: advance warning when ordering, bread with dip on the house. A resourceful, service-oriented owner will certainly think of other options. Instead, we were able to observe the following behavior on the part of the boss in the meantime: reprimanding an employee, arguing with a person (not customers) about the business and what he wouldn't accept (both at full volume and for everyone to overhear). came to the restaurant in the evening), other customers who left after a long wait because the food didn't come (they were there before us and we had already been waiting for an hour, so I completely understand). Additionally, one of our drinks was served in a glass with a large crack and there were still glasses and used napkins on the tables next to us 20 minutes after people had left. You have to be capable of suffering for the live experience. I don't think I've ever experienced anything so unprofessional. Never again.

Beautifully located right on the beach. The restaurant has a nice menu and is a bit more expensive. When the weather is good you can sit outside with a good view of the beach. The service was also okay.

You will be completely happy here, even if you do NOT like fish on the North Sea. Our business meeting recently took us to this great restaurant. We had only known it from seeing it on excursions, but we were completely blown away by the great location and view! The large terrace with an all-round view over the bay is unique, especially when it comes to evening and sunset 🌅. But the staff is also in no way inferior to this sight! Great service, very friendly staff, helpful with many dishes, etc. when it comes to gluten-free dishes and very fast service is what sets this restaurant apart. The dishes themselves are very tasty, you can see the fish dishes in the pictures and they taste like they were freshly prepared. The fried potatoes - definitely not our favorite dish - are incredibly tasty and well prepared. They may even be the best we've ever eaten! By the way: Alcohol fries Jever VOM FASS - definitely try it!!! All in all, a wonderful stay with a delicate, fine touch. Thank you for that!

A great restaurant! The food is great, the staff is extremely friendly and tries to accommodate the many guests, the terrace is unique and the drinks menu has a great selection. The view is unbeatable! Also very suitable for non-fish lovers. There is non-alcoholic beer on tap!!!

We've eaten in Heaven twice now. The food and the ambience were great. There is still room for improvement in terms of service, everyone is very stressed... but perhaps there is a lack of staff, which of course we cannot judge. Unfortunately the waiting time was longer than average. What we couldn't understand was why a handful of salad with a bit of salmon costs more than a burger that you could barely manage. Everything was really tasty, but the ratio somehow didn't work.

Reserved a table on a warm and sunny summer evening. After the nice reception and placement on the terrace, we waited a little longer for the order to be accepted. Unfortunately the first course came without cutlery and BEFORE! the drinks. That was bearable, but the price-performance ratio of the food was not right. If you take a closer look at the menu, it is noticeable that there is no qualitative calculation as the basis. Glasses not clean, tables “set” differently. (e.g. cruets, ashtrays) Apparently there is no standard. We were disappointed as the location should definitely be a great asset, it's a shame. Given the prices, it felt a bit like a “tourist rip-off”, unfortunately. Various reviews confirm the bad image. I still wish Heewen all the best for the future!

Not really bad, not really good. Below average. The view from the terrace is nice, but unfortunately the terrace on the sides is full of cobwebs.

You definitely pay for the view. The food is carelessly prepared, the taste is not outstanding for the price and the service should also smile. A beer on the terrace in the evening sun is fantastic, and that's it.

The service is a disaster!!! Viewing previous reviews completely confirms our impression. 1. We were turned away from our table because it was assumed there would be a rush of guests in 30 minutes. All right, it could be friendlier, we did that. 2 When ordering, only one of two people was accepted, the rest only after the service staff actively requested it. 3. Overwhelmed by our very simple order (coffee, cake, drink *2), the pieces of cake were missing, I guess we forgot. Luckily we remembered and got the last two. 4. Then it became really unprofessional: The previously slightly irritated and unfriendly atmosphere on the part of the staff became significantly worse when they asked for the DangastCard vouchers. The first operator simply ran away while paying, we spoke to a second one after 10 minutes, and the third one came to pay after 30 minutes. Once again, the discount hit a sore spot, so that people were turned away for various reasons. The payment terminal was ready, when we wanted to pay, the service person, now visibly and for no reason angry, ran away with the terminal without telling us why. After another 10 minutes we had had enough and wanted to pay at the checkout, where we were rudely pointed out about the way we work here: “we are unfriendly to unfriendly guests”. Conclusion: apparently the staff here often has problems with their guests, often find them “unfriendly” and unfortunately do not know the principles of gastronomy. There is a lot of catching up to do when it comes to friendliness and dealing with customers. We can't rate the food, the cake was good.

The view is great, but unfortunately it can't save the service. This was virtually non-existent: staff was unfriendly and seemed extremely annoyed, tables outside were not prepared for guests, empty bottles, guests had to dry their seats themselves, no one felt responsible for us, glasses were not clean. Unfortunately, I can't fully understand the good reviews. We waited an hour for three dishes. Only when the boss came along did everything move a little faster. The food was very good, there is no deduction for this. But if you want to eat something good for a while, you might be better off looking for something else.

Restaurant directly in the tourist information building and the swimming pool. Great view of the beach. Unique location. Unfortunately, this is also reflected in the price. Because the taste of the food was ok, but definitely not worth the price. But it's worth it for a small snack or coffee and cake on the terrace.

We went there for lunch today and ordered a burger with fries. The dish came with a salad as a side dish. Unfortunately there was a live worm in the side salad.... This meant that the meal was immediately taken care of for us. My husband showed the waiter the worm and said that we no longer wanted this food and would not pay for it. The waitress just said, "Oh, I can just have you make a new salad..." We decided not to because we had lost our appetite! It's rude that we had to pay for the dish and were given a 5 euro discount for the worm!!! WE WILL NOT COME BACK!! We have never experienced anything like this...

Nice, modern restaurant. Beautiful view of nature. A little longer with the service. We ordered a tarte flambée with salmon and leek as a starter. The main course was Angus beef hamburger with sweet potatoes and salmon fillet with tagliatelle. Everything tasted very good, there was nothing left over. Prices are okay for the location. Therefore highly recommended.

Restaurant & café with a view of the water directly in the tourist information building and the spring bath. Right next to the parking lot there are plenty of places on the large outdoor terrace with a great view of the water. There are small and larger dishes as well as coffee and cake. The service is quick and very friendly. A good place for a little break in Dangast!

I would prefer to give 0 stars. There is a sign telling you to wait for service. If you then wait, you will be viewed critically by the staff and the manager. Unfortunately, I don't know whether that was because of our age (early 20s) or because of our origins. I can't recommend it to anyone there because the staff is terribly unfriendly!

Great food (fish) with a great view!

When you came in you were sent out again because there was only coffee and cake. We had to sit in an alley with two children where the staff parked their clothes. The dessert was very tasty. The service was very unfriendly and pretty “not in the mood”.

Despite some bad reviews, we went to HEEWEN this evening. The restaurant was well occupied. We, with a dog, got a table without a reservation. The order was taken quickly and the drinks and food were served quickly. There was even a little greeting from the kitchen beforehand. This consisted of bread and cream cheese with herbs. In total we were only in the restaurant for about an hour. The service was very friendly and quick. We enjoyed the food very much. The prices are reasonable. We would go there again...

Very good, ate there twice and only had one drink. You have a great view of the water or mudflats outside and inside, depending on the situation🤷🏻 The atmosphere inside is modern but sometimes cramped and loud. The matjes is the best quality I have eaten here in the area. The fried potatoes were very good. As a tip…. Please give the salad a little more love, because if you have it as a component on your plate, it should have more dressing (please add dressing before serving) and not just put some dressing over the salad. Unfortunately it was very little, but then we ordered more and received it without any calculation, which was great again. The dressing, all homemade, was also very tasty. Service is very attentive and the boss is really relaxed and enjoys his work, you can tell. Thank you ☺️ we'll be back

As part of a Boßel group that has registered in advance and pre-ordered kale! we had to wait 1.5 hours. Waiting was generally the order of the day. Kassler and potatoes were ok, the rest was not. The 3 ambience stars are mainly for the view of the Jade Bay.

Great food, great service. Highly recommended!! My new tip in Dangast. I'm already looking forward to being there again over Pentecost. Now, after many years and frequently changing hosts, I have to downgrade my rating significantly. The food was okay, the restaurant and view were still hard to beat. However, the service has now become “terrible”. If I reserve a table at lunchtime for the evening and clearly point out that we are bringing two restless little dogs with us and therefore pre-book a table in the back area in a corner, I expect that the expressly promised reservation will also be fulfilled. In fact nothing like that happens, I first have to let a young waitress tell me that she can't accommodate other guests. We were assigned a table directly at the entrance to the rear area. When the dogs, as we feared, reacted loudly to other dogs several times, the owner clearly informed us that we should calm the animals down. We pointed out that the reservation was not made. According to the boss, he doesn't make reservations; he has forbidden that. Further discussions were unnecessary, we paid and will definitely not be coming back. The predecessors at heewen had a better handle on the store, reacted more friendly and responded to the guests. It's a shame there's one less place to go in Dangast, it's good that the competition is fierce.

Better not with a dog! The food is very tasty, the view is great. The waitresses were partly very friendly and professional, but unfortunately partly also very unfriendly and even rude. Dogs are expressly allowed in the restaurant. Because we were traveling with two dogs, we asked for a reservation at the back of the store at lunchtime so as not to disturb other guests with possible barking (you know your own dog). We were promised this, but when we arrived we were given a table right at the entrance and on the way to the toilets. And then after about an hour we were asked by the owner to avoid the "yapping" - which is exactly what we wanted to do when we reserved the place. Unfortunately, special tables are probably not allowed - it's a shame if the employees don't know that yet. Conclusion: Dogs that stoically endure other dogs, children and hustle and bustle are probably in good hands here, while insecure dogs or those in training are apparently not so welcome. ("We have nothing against dogs, but...") It's really a shame...

Very nice atmosphere, nice service and excellent food. I had asparagus with pike perch and was thrilled. My wife had the pasta with salmon, which was also perfect. The only thing missing for the noodles was pepper, but they would definitely have been given, but my wife could also have asked. We will be back definitely!

More drinks sales would have been possible, and not just at our table.

I have never experienced such poor service!!! We waited 20 minutes for our drinks and 1 hour for the food! The following drink order was forgotten, as was the request that we would like to pay. A service worker who brought the food with the comment: "Uh!" It was all really bad!!!!

We booked a table for 7 p.m. 3 employees wanted to take the order for the drinks, which then came after more than 30 minutes. The food was brought after 1 hour 40 minutes. Tastes very good. Toilets very unkempt.

I can't think of anything good about this store. Been there for the first and last time. The wait is far too long before you order, and when you do that the wrong food arrives. In addition, the staff is overwhelmed and unfriendly. And last but not least, it's way too overpriced. I will not visit or recommend this country again.

The food was average. Fast food is not available for less than €19 - with the exception of the children's portion: But fish fingers with fries and mayo for €9? And the service is free of good humor. Too bad, that was nothing. Then the view of the “beach”, which in my opinion is not beautiful, where beach chairs are randomly attached to children’s train rides that look like shirtsleeves.

Unfortunately we are totally disappointed. Service extremely unfriendly, fish on the fish platter mostly packaged goods, food sometimes carelessly prepared. The view of the North Sea is all well and good, but next time I can sit on a bench on the beach with a fish sandwich, it'll probably be fresher and I'll save myself the unfriendly service... Sorry, the price/performance ratio doesn't fit here at all, we definitely won't be coming back...

Had dinner at Heewen today. The beer was not carbonated and was reluctantly poured back after a complaint, which didn't really make it any better. The burger for 19 euros, well. So it would be more like a meatball in a bun. Completely fried beyond the point. With a Black Angus burger for 19 euros, I think you can expect it to be medium. When paying, the card reader didn't work properly and the waitress claimed it was the bank card. This was used to withdraw money from the machine shortly beforehand. After 3 unsuccessful attempts, the operator became very annoyed and claimed it was not the device. What can we say about the whole process? This is not how we had imagined the last evening of our vacation.

The food and the view were great. The service was rather bad. We had to wait over half an hour before we got the menu and a drink. The service staff stood around at the counter looking bored. After ordering, we waited almost an hour for our Birger. The burgers were very tasty!!! Unfortunately the last drink wasn't as ordered. In short: Great ambience, great view, great food. The rest, service and price, leaves a lot to be desired! Above all the service! Great improvement! During the high season they went under miserably! The service doesn't work at all!

No recommendation because the champagne reception we ordered in advance didn't work out... it's very unpleasant when 1 bottle of champagne is brought for 18 people... and we first had to wait for an individual bill per glass, which was the highlight. Ordered 4 bottles in the cooler. Of course, since it was our wedding anniversary, we don't complain... so as not to put a negative point on the day.

I was there on Saturday February 24th. 2024 at 7:00 p.m. and can recommend the ambience and the menu. The only point of criticism is that the boss conducts staff discussions in the presence of the guests, which is an absolute no go for me!

Great view of the beach. A friendly but completely overwhelmed service for dozens of guests. That is not possible. After 10 minutes the menu came. After another 15 minutes we hadn't even been able to order a drink so we got up and left. Sorry, but something like that just can't happen. And when I read other recently written reviews, I'm not alone in my impressions. Very unfortunate.

Hello, I struggled for a long time with myself as to whether I should write or not, but I finally came to the decision to make my opinion public. 4 weeks before Christmas we booked a table reservation for the first holiday at 7 p.m., so far it was ok. However, the evening was, more or less, a total failure. The food and service were ok but the surroundings... Breakfast was being set up, tables and chairs were being pushed, and everything was loud. Last but not least, the music was turned off at 8 p.m. Don't you want to leave soon, that's the impression we were given. There were five of us, when we were paying a nice amount of the bill, I kindly pointed out the situation and the owner said sorry... and that was it!!!! Finally, at half past 9 we were back at home at a cozy table, with nice music…. A more than failed holiday meal.

Ein kleines aber feines Restaurant mit einem unglaublich schönen Blick auf die Nordsee. Die Inhaber und Mitarbeiter sind sehr motiviert und nehmen sich auch gerne Zeit für Gespräche. Auch ohne Reservierung findet man hier immer einen Platz. Das Essen schmeckt gut, auch die Kinder, die eine eigene Karte bekommen, fanden es gut. Vermisst wurde allerdings die kleine Spielecke (da gab es auch Malsachen oder kleine Bücher zum Lesen/Anschauen), das würde das Restaurant für die Kleinsten noch attraktiver machen. Dennoch ist es immer wieder schön, dort einzukehren. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis finde ich angemessen.

Wir waren mit 11 Personen im Restaurant. Man sitzt etwas beengt und leider wartet man auch einige Zeit, bis man wenigstens die Getränke bestellen kann. Das Essen war teilweise kalt, es wurde dann kurz nochmal erwärmt, bei Fisch nicht besonders schmackhaft. Die Fleischgerichte waren ok.

Ein sehr schön gelegenes Restaurant mit Blick aufs Wasser (natürlich besser, wenn die Sonne nicht so früh weg ist). Das Essen wurde mir relativ schnell gebracht, es war aber auch nicht voll. Der Burger und die Pommes mit dem Salat, waren sehr lecker. Das Personal wirkte nicht übermäßig happy oder sehr freundlich, aber vielleicht ist es an anderen Tagen anders bzw jmd anderes.

Waren 2 mal dort essen. Beim ersten Mal war die Wartezeit etwas zu lang, ca. 1,5 Stunden. Für 6 Essen mit einem Kind (4 Jahre) viel zu lang. Das Essen war sehr lecker und eine sehr gute Auswahl.

Ein sehr schickes modernes Restaurant mit sehr freundlichem Personal und auch sehr schnellen Service. Das Essen war sehr gut sehr lecker und schmackhaft und auch sehr frisch. Personal war aufmerksam und selbst der Inhaber kam am Tisch vorbei und erkundigt sich ob alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit war. Unser Hund hat auch eine Wasserschale bekommen was ich sehr aufmerksam finde. Sonst haben wir immer unsere eigene mit aber diesmal mussten wir nachfragen. Man sollte sich einen Tisch vorab reservieren da es hier immer sehr gut besucht ist.

Zugegeben, die bisher nicht überschwängliche Kritik hat mich zweifeln lassen, das Heewen zu besuchen. Mangels Alternativen sind wir dann aber doch hineingegangen und konnten uns eines Besseren belehren lassen. Die Bedienung war äusserst freundlich, das Essen frisch und schmackhaft, frisch zubereitet und nicht 'von der Stange'. Auch für die kleinen Gäste ist gesorgt. Das Fischstäbchenmenü hat auch hier voll gepunktet. Hochstühle und Spielkiste sind auch vorhanden. Die Einrichtung ist gepflegt, modern und sauber. An den Fensterplätzen genießt man einen sehr schönen Ausblick auf den Jadebusen. Das sollte nicht unser letzter Besuch sein. Bei unserem zweiten Besuch trafen wir -leider ohne Reservierung- auf ein voll belegtes Restaurant. Das Personal reagierte professionell und spontan, so dass wir tatsächlich noch einen Platz bekamen. Und trotz der voll besetzten Tische war die Wartezeit mehr als akzeptabel. Auch die Qualität des Essens war absolut in Ordnung und lässt keine negativen Kritiken zu. Auch das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis kann sich sehen lassen, wir sind zu dritt für etwa 50.-€ satt geworden. Tipp für Touristen: Erst die Kurkarte bei der benachbarten Kurverwaltung kaufen und 10% Nachlass auf die Gesamtrechnung genießen. Fazit: Leckeres, frisches und abwechslungsreiches Essen. Freundliche Bedienung und gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Würde jederzeit wieder dort essen gehen. Vielen Dank an das Heewen-Team. Tolle Lage direkt am Strand, das Lokal ist modern und gemütlich eingerichtet, unsere Hunde waren willkommen. Das Essen war lecker, leider keine "Highlights" auf der Speisekarte.

Das HEEWEN Restaurant & Café befindet sich direkt am Jadebusen in Dangast im Landkreis Friesland in Niedersachsen. Ein schönes gemütliches/stilvolles eingerichtetes Restaurant & Café, mit Außenterrasse und einen herrlichen Blick auf den Jadebusen. Hier wurde man sehr freundlich empfangen und bekam sehr schnell einen Platz (ohne Reservierung). Das Essen schmeckte und wahr geschmacklich in Ordnung (nur preislich nicht angemessen). Die Mitarbeiterin im Service war sehr freundlich/motiviert und stand völlig alleine mit den vielen Gästen im Restaurant da (komplette Überforderung). So etwas sollte in Zukunft vermieden werden. Natürlich machte es sich enorm bei der Wartezeit und den Bestellungen bemerkbar, so das viele Gäste das Restaurant sogar verließen. Die Tische wurden nicht gleich abgeräumt und gereinigt, so dass es kein gutes Bild hinterließ. Die Speisekarte hatte sonst eine gute und vielseitige Auswahl an Speisen/Getränke und es gab auch noch eine extra Kinderspeisekarte. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis entspricht hier leider nicht den Erwartungen. Im Obergeschoss werden noch Räumlichkeiten für Seminare, Tagungen, sowie Firmenveranstaltungen angeboten. Diese Bewertung wurde nach eigener Erfahrung beurteilt.

Absolut nur zu empfehlen. Ohne Reservierung um 14 Uhr noch super leckeres Schollenfilet gegessen. Ist seinen Preis wert. Super Ausblick auf den Jadebusen trotz Ebbe.

Direkt am Strand gelegen mit wunderschönem Blick aufs Wattenmeer. Auch wenn das Lokal gut besucht war, wurden wir schnell und freundlich bedient. Kinder bekommen sogar eine extra Speisekarte. Preislich etwas höher angesetzt als andere Restaurants, aber ist auf jeden Fall sein Geld wert.

Tolles Ambiente, super nettes und aufmerksames Personal, Preis-Leistung ist top, sehr leckere Speisen, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Lecker Kuchen, guter Kaffee, schöner Ausblick. Typische Touristengastronomie mit mürrisch wirkenden Chef. Nach dem Kaffee und dem Kuchen keine Servicekraft mehr gesehen. Sehr freundliche junge Servicekraft beim Bezahlen, top. Herr Chef, vielleicht mal ne Scheibe abschneiden anstatt laut zu telefonieren. Verbesserungsvorschlag: Der Gast sollte sich fühlen als wenn er 1. Priorität genießt

Das Desaster begann bereits beim Betreten des Lokals. Wir haben auf 19.00 Uhr einen Tisch für 2reserviert. Als wir kurz nach 19.00 Uhr eintrafen meinte der Chef, es würden bald Tische frei. Nachdem wir dann 20 Minuten auf die Speisekarte warten mussten dauerte es nochmals 25 Minuten bis etwas bestellen konnten. Und dies erst nachdem wir aufgestanden und uns einen Kellner gesucht haben. Wohlgemerkt, Getränke hatten wir noch keine. Weitere 20 Minuten später kam eine Vorspeisensuppe (immer noch nichts zu trinken). Auf den ebenfalls bestellten Vorspeisensalat warteten wir vergebens. Suppe fertig und dann ewig darauf warten, dass die Hauptspeise kommt. Der Kellner ist mindestens 3 mal an unserem Tisch vorbeigekommen hat aber die leere Suppenschüssel nie mitgenommen. Eine halbe Stunde nachdem wir fertiggegessen haben und sich immer noch niemand bei uns blicken gelassen har, sind wir notgedrungen zum Buffet um zu zahlen. Fairerweise muss ich sagen, das Essen hat geschmeckt. Es war jetzt nich aussergewöhnlich aber bodenständig gut. Die Bedienung ist wirklich sehr unfreundlich mit Ausnahme des jungen Mannes, der uns zwischendurch bedient hat. Alles in allem werden wir da nie mehr hingehen und es auch nicht weiterempfehlen.

Wir waren zum Abendessen dort. Tolle Aussicht. Freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Das Essen war gut und lecker. Hier kann man auch länger verweilen.

Der Ausblick ist toll, das Ambiente hat leider ein wenig von Betriebskantine. Die Bedienungen unterschiedlich, teils freundlich, teils genervt. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Weinglas am Rand beschädigt....also aufpassen!

Wir wurden ohne Reservierung fündig, der Ausblick ist super. Das Personal hat uns leider einige male vergessen, alleine bis wir eine Karte hatten, hat es 20 min gedauert. Unser Sohn hat die Spaghetti mit Tomatensoße von der Kinderkarte bestellt. Das Gericht war leider wirklich total geschmacklos und fad. Auch die Bratkartoffeln zu meinem Fischgericht waren fettig und hätten etwas an Würze vertragen. Der Fisch war lecker. Insgesamt würden wir nicht nochmal die Lokalität aufsuchen.
