They have changed a few things. The service used to be better. Everything is slimmed down. The prices are quite high and the quality has become worse. I paid 16.50 euros for a product that had become worse and then had to pay 50 cents for the box to take with me. I think it's going down the drain....👇 I probably won't eat here anymore... I've eaten here often for at least 10 years, unfortunately not anymore ☹️

That was the worst service I have ever experienced. After 60 minutes the pasta came half warm, after 80 minutes the pizza finally arrived and after asking 5 times.

Unfortunately not recommended. The service staff were nice, but we waited far too long for the drinks and food. The processes seemed disorganized. The concept of digital ordering appealed to us, but - as described - it was not yet fully developed.

The Vapiano is a cozy restaurant with delicious pasta and pizza/pinsa dishes. The self-service concept takes a different approach than most Vapiano restaurants. No chip cards, no counter and no terminal. Guests scan the table code and then order via their mobile phone. Positive: You can also place an order with the employees. Individual wishes are implemented. The food and drinks are then brought to the table. This works very well. In general, the staff is very friendly and attentive. The Vapiano in Bochum is located in the center and is one of the chain's larger restaurants. Big plus point: A lot of the tables are of normal height and have normal high stools and no bar tables with bar stools/chairs. The food is typical of Vapino, the ingredients seem fresh and are prepared deliciously. The noodles aren't too al dente either. The restaurant is barrier-free and there is also a barrier-free toilet. The normal toilet facilities, however, can be reached via a staircase in the basement. We have been here four times in the last two years and would love to come back when we find ourselves in the Ruhr area.

Food was ok. Pasta was very al dente. Service was terrible. Dirty plates from previous guests were not cleared away. Drinks delivery took forever. Ambience was very nice. Otherwise it was the last time I was there.

Waitress didn't know much about drinks. Food was frozen. Cold and without taste. For the price you can eat a decent currywurst somewhere else.

After switching to QR code orders, the visit was much more pleasant. The food was also very tasty.

You can tell here that the owner only thinks about making more profit and doesn't care about quality. There is a new system for orders via QR code to once again save on personnel costs. Unfortunately, this system doesn't work at all. After waiting half an hour with a small child, we discovered that our order had not been taken at all, even though we had ordered at the counter. We got our money back and had to find a new restaurant at 8pm. Such measures without proper planning bring no profit in the long term, but only more loss and damage.

The food tasted good though. But the portions have become smaller. You also save on extra Parmesan. The service was totally overwhelmed when taking the order. Also in billing. Drinks should, strangely enough, be paid for separately. Just entering it into the cash register took 10 minutes. Four of us. An hour before the end the lights were almost turned off so we had to leave the restaurant in the dark.

It was our first time in Bochum, as we come from Munich and only knew the chip card system, we were thrilled. Here they switched to the digital version, which impressed me very much. Simply scan the QR code at the table, order and you're done. Drinks were brought to the table surprisingly quickly. Service staff very attentive and friendly. I couldn't make payment on my cell phone, but that was certainly still the word... At the end of my visit, I paid at the checkout and was informed that the new system in Bochum had only been there for a few days. Price-performance ratio works well for me.

Pizza unfortunately one of the worst I've eaten. Waited for a very long time on a Tuesday at 8 p.m. But the ambience is cool.

Was here for the first time. Cold, uncomfortable atmosphere, a bit like a train station. Pizza was okay, nothing more. Staff was friendly, but the feel is more for young people.

I was a customer of Vapiano at various locations for many years. Over the years I have noticed how much the concept of Vapiano in Bochum has changed and today I would like to share my current impression. atmosphere Due to the construction site in front of the restaurant, it is currently not worth eating outside. This means that the restaurant currently appears very inconspicuous. Today I could only tell whether the branch was open when I stood in front of the door and saw an employee at the reception. From the outside and from a distance it looked like it was closed. Visually, not much has changed in the interior over the years. Unfortunately, behind the preparation areas it no longer looks as inviting as it used to. Instead of fresh ingredients, pasta, etc., the first thing you notice is a lot of cans from Mutti. At the same time, this has an aftertaste that I will explain later. The experience It used to be nice to place orders and watch live cooking as your own dish was prepared. At the same time, you got to talk to the staff, which overall seemed to shorten the waiting time. Today it's different. You order your food at a central point, receive a beeper and sit down wherever there is space to wait. The taste I ordered the beef broccoli pasta and tried it for the first time today. I was anything but impressed with the taste. The vegetables were quite tasteless. The beef was mostly well cooked. A few pieces seemed quite tough. I already mentioned Mom's cans elsewhere. These raised fears that the sauce came 1:1 from a can. The taste seems to have been the same. She seemed boring. After the first bite, I immediately thought “I was here for the last time”. service At the reception and when ordering, the staff was 1 with stars. Both people seemed very nice and competent. The chefs, on the other hand, seemed annoyed and not motivated. From my perspective, the latter was also reflected in the taste. Price In addition to the lack of taste and the atmosphere that has become worse over the years, there is also a significant increase in prices. My dish was €18.50 + deposit for the take away packaging. That bears no relation to what you receive and are offered there. Conclusion My conclusion is clear. It was my last time at Vapiano. The taste is boring combined with such a high price and a lack of quality. It is better to resort to alternatives or to prepare similar recipes at home. Given the price, there are enough options to cook dishes with fresh ingredients.

I think this is one of the best restaurants on my list, Pinsa Margerita is really delicious

We have always ordered the lunch deal straight away, which is a great offer at lunchtime, especially as a student. Ate here at the end of the semester 3 out of 4 semesters. Chicken Alfredo is a dream with the chili oil. It's great that you have a selection of pasta. Delicious homemade drinks. Tables could be cleaner. Top concept with self-collection and payment to relieve the employees. Nice, cozy furnishings, good location. Modern toilet

As other reviewers have already rightly pointed out, the price-performance ratio is not even close. I had a vegetarian pasta dish, a small side salad and an apple juice and had to pay almost 25 euros for it. Five euros were charged for the apple juice alone. Since it was relatively full on the Saturday I visited VAPIANO, I could only sit on a stool (without a backrest), which was anything but comfortable. The taste of the food was OK. However, given the price, one could/should have expected something more delicate.

Was eating at Vapiano for the first time and was very impressed. The food was super tasty...also suitable for vegetarians. The staff was also very friendly. We also found the atmosphere very cozy. Gladly again 😊

This is my second time here, although my first review seems to have disappeared into orbit. Today we had penne with aglio + olio. It was very delicious. The price of cola went up again. I'll probably skip the drinks. I'd love to come back on my way to slimming down. ...in June 2024: I'm here again - spaghetti Bolognese for lunch, and as always it was good, with a cola it cost 12.50 euros.

Things are different here than at other Vapiano stores. You first have to order at the drinks bar and then you get a pager. When it starts, you pick up the food at the pizza station. I think that makes more sense than always ordering everything individually. The portions were relatively small and the staff were friendly.

Very great “self-service” restaurant. There are always herbs on the tables - mostly basil - that you can pick yourself. The order is ordered in advance and then picked up via pager. Payment is made centrally at the cash register when you leave the restaurant. Everyone was very nice and friendly.

Food ok, service extremely friendly today. The new ordering concept is also much better. Good coffee specialties. Addendum: With opening hours until 9:00 p.m., which are already extremely short, espresso after meals is no longer available at 8:30 p.m., and shift managers (in contrast to the other employees) are also extremely unfriendly. Food was hot and ready quickly. Taste OK. Unfortunately, many tables were unclean (greasy, sticky). And that was on a Saturday lunchtime, the restaurant was rather empty. After the tables have been cleared, they are wiped dry (with the guests' remaining napkins?!) instead of being cleaned or even disinfected. That is not how it works. Hope the hygiene in the kitchen is better. When we asked the service staff about it when we left, they didn't even apologize or anything like that. It's a shame that something like this spoils the overall impression so negatively.

We were there with our children and the staff was so unfriendly and despised our children and they were too rude or insulted. Found as just a local search from the hotel but perfect for a casual evening meal. Loved the style.

I’m not sure how you can make a Diavolo pizza (hot pepperoni salami, bell pepper, red onions, jalapeños, chili mayo) bland, but they did. The crust was a bit overcooked and lacked any flavor, the sauce tasted like watered down tomato soup, and there was absolutely zero kick to the spicy parts. I gave it one star because it was edible and didn’t make me sick. The hostess was friendly, as were the cooks. The space is interesting and well laid out. These two things though can’t make up for the bad food. I foolishly passed up going to nearby L’Osteria (ate at a different one last night and wanted a change) and there won’t be a third trip to a Vapiano (had a similarly bad experience at another location).

A dream! During our visit to Vapiano Bochum we were transported into a wonderful holiday atmosphere. The ambience is simply stunning – stylish and inviting at the same time. The team was incredibly welcoming and guided us through the menu with great care and expertise. The food itself was an absolute highlight: fresh, aromatic and so delicious that we were completely absorbed and forgot to take photos. A perfect evening that we can highly recommend to everyone!

The food is delicious and the price is right. The drinks, on the other hand, are way too expensive. Maybe it's intentional so that you don't stay seated for too long and block the table. Staff very nice.

It was the first time I ate there again after the pandemic and so on in 2024 and unfortunately I have to say, way too expensive, drinks 0.5l for 5.75 and a Sprite 0.33 for about €4 was exaggerated. The food itself tastes good, but the portion size is completely exaggerated for the price for pasta with shrimps over 18€, a pizza size about 10cm x 30cm over 16€, you can't ask for it. We've probably been there 10 times since Vapiano was founded, but this time was the last time, I can't recommend it. I have the feeling that the prices have almost doubled and there is no service either. Never again.

Vapiano promises a culinary experience that unfortunately doesn't deliver. The price is disproportionate to the quality and quantity of the food. The portions are meager and leave you hungry, while the prices stretch the budget. The ambience is simple and offers nothing that other restaurants couldn't offer. For a truly special meal, it's better to go somewhere else, even if it costs a little more. With friendly service and a reasonable selection of food, Vapiano is simply not a recommended option.

Nice facility, but of course not comparable to the pizzeria around the corner, as it is a system catering establishment. The food is freshly prepared and very tasty. The service (ordering at the counter, picking up at the counter) is of course not that great due to the concept.

Friendly welcome. It's uncomfortable and cold. Ordering is done at the drinks counter, which leads to longer waiting times, especially since some of the employees don't have a good command of German. The advantage is that all members receive their food at the same time. The waiting time is acceptable because everything is freshly prepared. The taste of the food is okay, not authentic. However, it is simply too expensive. A few leaves of lettuce with a tomato, a little parmesan and very little shrimp for over 16 euros is simply too expensive. The lasagna is also small and costs over 12 euros. Conclusion: The price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all. Self service and average food

Lunch deal is inexpensive and food is delicious

A lot has changed there since my last visit. Whether it's ordering, as well as the prices. I personally can't get used to this system, but luckily that's a matter of taste. The food was good, I couldn't complain.

System catering at reasonable prices. Self-service is the order of the day. Pasta dishes are good and sufficient. I haven't tried pizza there yet.

We were here for breakfast! When the support (that's what citizens' money is now called) is in the account, we have something to celebrate. It can get a little louder at times. Michaela and I, Piet, Karsten with his wife (had a late shift) Heiko and friends. Almost the entire team, it's just a shame that Ulrike is still retraining. You can drink Krombacher here. It went quite well, with a quick sip from the hip flask every now and then. That sets the mood. The remaining audience did not share our attitude towards climate adhesives. I'll tell it like it is: We only have one planet, if you're late for work it's something you can deal with and not the end of the world. I used to not always be on time either. Didn't hurt. Next month we'll try the branch in Düsseldorf, maybe the atmosphere there will be a little better than here. Overall, a pleasant morning. But then we ate somewhere else.

A really interesting concept after all the work being done here. But first I would like to emphasize the excellent quality of the food. The noodles were excellent and the remaining ingredients were fresh.

We really enjoy visiting the Vapiano branches in all sorts of places in Germany (Münster, Osnabrück, Wuppertal and many more). Yesterday we had the pleasure of seeing the branch in Bochum for the first time. Unfortunately, we arrived too late (8:37 p.m.) and completely missed the closing times. The lady at reception greeted us with the rude words: “Uhhh, the kitchen is already closed. I have to ask first.” I replied politely that we were very sorry and that we could go somewhere else. The lady rolled her eyes, turned her back on us and went towards the kitchen to ask. She then came back completely flabbergasted and said: “But we close at 9/10/15!!!” Here too we said it was completely fine, we can really go somewhere else, but she just replied the same thing. I or we assured that we would leave the location on time. By the time she handed us the cards, she repeated this statement 4 more times. As if we were mentally confused and suddenly didn't understand it. We would have even understood if we would have eaten somewhere else. The lady at the order counter was at least as (un)motivated to serve us. No friendly hello, no smile, not even a look in the eyes. On top of that, the order was typed incorrectly. But we left it at that because we were already feeling uncomfortable. The only nice person was the chef, who said a quick, friendly hello. So let's keep in mind: We were there at 8:37 p.m., ordered and left the restaurant at exactly 9 p.m. On top of that, the place was cleared. When my husband kindly wanted to bring the tray to the counter, a Channing Tatumn copy looked at him aggressively. Instead of a friendly thank you, he really looked like he was about to hit my husband. I wish we had gone voluntarily. That was definitely our last visit, especially since the ORIGINAL Vapiano feeling is completely missing. In all the branches we have visited so far, you get the menu at the front, then go to the excellent spot for each dish, put the menu on the table, watch the chef at work, look forward to your meal, and eat your own food come to the place and enjoy it. Here we were allowed to receive the cards, order at a checkout like in every other burger shop, get the beeper pressed into our hand and wait. Sorry, but we know Vapiano differently and much better. Not to mention the unfriendly workers yesterday. You could have sent us away with a friendly “The kitchen is closed.” I worked in the catering industry myself. It's better to send them away than to have such anti-social behavior where the customer leaves money and in return the food gets stuck in their throat. Never again in Bochum! By the way, we only gave the 5 stars for the food because the chef greeted us in a friendly manner and prepared the food deliciously. With the rest of the staff, perhaps we should soon check more closely what kind of social behavior is the norm and what demands a boss should place on his workers in order to ensure satisfied service/customer performance :)

First the positive: - beautiful location, tastefully decorated - the carbonara was very tasty - the Lillet Wild Berry was ok. Only there were no more berries available. - I think it's good to order with the cards On the negative side: - the price you pay for no service at all - the lasagne tastes like it comes from Lidl Conclusion: A nice location, but for the price I would rather go to a real Italian restaurant that serves me food at my table. The lasagna for €12.95 was a joke. I'd rather get one from Lidl and save money. If only there had been great service on site, but there isn't any. We then gave each other dessert. We wouldn't come back because the quality of the food is not in proportion to the price.

Went to VAPIANO Bochum last night - the food was really great, tasted great - the self-service concept also works well here; Because self-service only 3 service stars!!! We were thrilled and would be happy to recommend...

The toilet is absolutely unreasonable, the photo box is empty (“it's been like that for days,” says the employee), it's pretty cold - it used to be a great restaurant.

The Vapiano was a disappointment for me. The rooms have more of a waiting hall charm and the spaghetti carbonara tasted like almost nothing.

I always enjoyed eating pizza there, now there's only Pinsa. I don't like or like the dough and the way it's made. It's a shame, but I won't visit Vapiano again.

The ordering process is the best thing about the whole store. Almost 17€ for a strip of pizza.. guilty "Pinsa" and 15€ for a handful of pasta is really a joke!! Never ever again!

Schöner Laden, sehr leckeres Essen.

Ordered a vegan pizza (Pinsa) for the first time today, which tastes more like dry bread than pizza. I told the cook that it was way too dry and had it packed up. The chef said that this is the case with vegan pizzas because of the melt (cheese), which is dry and 1 ladle of tomato sauce per pinsa. Vapiano still has to learn something here, because vegan does not automatically mean dry. At home I added tomato sauce and olive oil and it was no longer dry. Vegan cheese in particular can be mixed well with olive oil because it doesn't contain a lot of fat. Nobody was particularly friendly: when I couldn't get the door open with two assistants and the pizza box under my arm, nobody held the door open for me, even though two men were standing at the checkout with no customers watching me. And the ambience? Nice in itself, but there were breadcrumbs everywhere on the furniture, table and floor. It wasn't appetizing because it looked unclean and the music was too loud. The recipe should definitely be changed because I wouldn't buy them again like this.

Cocktails were terrible, very bitter and serving was bad too. Pasta isn't tasty, there is too little taste.

Ich war schon deutschlandweit in Vapianos, aber Bochum schiesst den Vogel ab… Was für ein unsinniges, kundenunfreundliches System. Man muss ernsthaft vorne bei den Getränken das Essen bestellen und die ganze lange Theke mit den Stationen ist zugestellt, so dass man dort nicht bestellen kann. Natürlich eine riesige Schlange, denn bei den Getränken sind nur 2 Kassen und zu allem Überfluss keine Abstellmöglichkeit, weil alles voll gestellt ist. Man reicht das Tablett umständlich über die vollgestellte Theke. 🙈🙈🙈 also wer denkt sich sowas aus? Der geht da definitiv nicht essen… absolut sinnfrei 😵‍💫 Und die Antwort mit dem Gerndern sagt alles! Schon mal mitbekommen das die überwiegende Mehrheit der Bevölkerung das nicht möchte !!!! Absolut sinnfrei auch in der Antwort !

Das Essen ist recht lecker.. Das war es aber auch schon. Sehr unbequeme Sitzmöbel; sehr lauter, großer Raum; ewiges AnSTEHEN.

Stille Ecken wäre für Menschen mit Hörgerät toll. Sonst super.

Loved the food and i really liked the photobooth inside

Knowing that vapiano is a "good Italian fast food restaurant". I still do expect my meal in reasonable time. Not 5 min, but in 20 min even when its very busy. Not an hour !! There are good reasons why we choose this place, and "spending an entire evening here" is not one of them ! We expected to ve in and out in 45 min max No we where not informed about the waiting time on arrival "its busy" is not enough. 3 not so happy people not wanting to eat on the streets (christmass markets) but still wanted to enjoy them the best we could... And as they close officialy at 21.00 The evening is quite spoilt and useless .

Das Restaurant liegt zentral in der Bochumer Innenstadt. Restaurant bietet eine helle, freundliche Einrichtung und eine große Anzahl an Sitzplätzen sowie eine Terrasse. Das Angebot entspricht dem Vapiano Standard. Beide Gerichte, Nudeln und Risotto, waren schmackhaft, frisch und heiß. Die Getränkekarte ist ebenfalls standardisiert. Umso bedauerlicher, dass die Bestellung eines Fernet Branca vom Personal mit der Frage ".... Ist das ein Rotwein??" kommentiert wird. Hier würde eine kurze Schulung vor Arbeitsantritt sicherlich helfen, dass sich der Servicemitarbeiter sicherer fühlt und Gast sich das Lachen nicht verkneifen muss.

Das Essen war wie in anderen Vapiano's ausgezeichnet, allerdings waren die Portionen viel kleiner. Guter Wein, gute Desserts, gute Atmosphäre und Parkplätze nur wenige Schritte entfernt.

VIEL ZU TEUER !!!! 0,2 Schweppes 4,30€ ... Nudeln mit Stückchen Huhn..18,45€... Zu teuer für die Qualität/Portion... (Da kann ich ja schon besser bei nem richtigen Italiener essen.) Wahrscheinlich war es deshalb auch soooo leer... Ambiente...klar,straight,kühl, kantinenlike,... Gefiel mir früher deutlich besser!!! ..in jeder Hinsicht...

Die vegane Pinsa schmeckt nach trockenem Brot mit einer guten Portion an Chemie. Hinzu kommt dass das Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis eines der schlechtesten ist, was mir bekannt ist. Das Ambiente ist gut, die Stühle etwas hart und die Bedienung recht freundlich, aber was will man bei dem Mindestlohn auch anderes erwarten.

Der Laden ist ausreichend groß und bietet viele Sitzplätze. Freundliches Personal und sauberer Küchen- und Gastbereich. Das Essen war gut, die Portionen jedoch übersichtlich. Bei den Preisen hätte ich mehr erwartet. Die Lasagne dauert etwas länger, da diese erst auf Bestellung zubereitet und gebacken wird. Abstriche im Service fußen auf dem Selbstbedienungskonzept, welches an sich nicht zu beanstanden ist. Man weiß schließlich wo man essen geht.
