The pasta doesn't taste good anymore. I tried everything. The staff were unfriendly; it was a really bad experience. Never again Vapiano.

The food was so bad that I had to go to the toilet to vomit while I was eating. The pizza dough was sour, and the pasta was unseasoned and consisted almost entirely of oil. The service was quite good.

We weren't shown to our table, weren't asked how we liked the food, and when it arrived, the portions were small, cold, and tasteless. And if that wasn't enough, the cutlery we were given was dirty.

The pizza is huge, like a wagon wheel, with a dry crust and a soggy middle. The pasta is good, but there's very little of it compared to the pizza. It's very loud in there; you can't have a conversation.

Why can't they go back to the old concept? That was what made Vapiano so special. It's just been stressful ever since. I used to go there so often because I could order whatever I wanted, and if I needed something, I could just go to the counter myself. Now you're back to relying on the staff and their motivation. Please, let's go back to how it used to be! :-(

Unfortunately, a huge disappointment. The three of us ate here and paid almost €70. For that price, I expect a decent portion, but my Chicken Alfredo was an outrage: there were, no joke, only three tiny pieces of chicken in it. Since a colleague at the Cologne branch had the exact same experience (while I was here in Bochum), it seems this isn't just a kitchen mistake, but rather the standard practice at Vapiano now. The price-performance ratio is completely unacceptable. I will definitely never set foot in there again.

A good burger restaurant with a wide selection in a minimalist but nice atmosphere.

The food was a 10/10. The waiter Saif was the best, incredibly friendly, I can highly recommend him to everyone, everything was top-notch.

It's nowhere near what it used to be. The place wasn't full. Even so, it took about 50 minutes for my meal to arrive. I ordered the surf and turf. The pasta could have been better, the beef was overcooked, and the sauce tasted like it came from a can. They didn't even bring extra garlic. In general, the whole plate arrived very uninspired. No garnish with basil or pepper around the edge like they used to. It's all just cheap, cheaply made dishes with exorbitant prices. The trays at the other tables sat around for over an hour. No bread...nothing. Ordering via mobile phone now instead of queuing...you can take that as a matter of opinion. For Vapiano, it has the advantage that people can no longer see the rubbish they're serving. What a shame, that was my last time there.

A man waits 40 minutes for a simple pizza at the Bermuda Triangle. At Pizza Mann's, the pizza tastes better; they even bake it in a stone oven, and you can sit down inside. It's not as nice, but the quality and the price make up for it.

We were there on Sunday, and they were out of cheese—and this was supposed to be an Italian restaurant! The pizza was served with vegan cheese (which the waitress suggested as an alternative), and we've never eaten anything so disgusting. A cheap frozen pizza tastes better. The dough wasn't great either.

I've been to Vapianos all over Germany, but the one in Bochum takes the cake… What a nonsensical, customer-unfriendly system. You seriously have to order your food at the drinks counter, and the entire long counter with the stations is blocked, so you can't order there. Naturally, there's a huge queue because there are only two tills at the drinks counter, and to top it all off, there's nowhere to put your tray because it's completely full. You awkwardly pass your tray across the cluttered counter. 🙈🙈🙈 Who comes up with this stuff? I definitely wouldn't eat there… absolutely pointless 😵‍💫 And the answer about gender-neutral language says it all! Have you even noticed that the vast majority of people don't want this?! The answer is completely nonsensical too!

The pasta at Vapiano is simply delicious, freshly prepared, perfectly al dente, and served with incredibly tasty sauces. You can taste the quality and attention to detail in every bite. A fantastic concept, friendly service, and always a treat! 🍝✨

The food was delicious, but our order wasn't prepared correctly. There were three of us, but we received four pasta dishes. And the order at the next table was also incorrect. The service needs to improve!! :)

The pasta was very soggy and tasteless. After we pointed this out, a woman (the manager) was rude and didn't even offer us a new dish. We were treated disrespectfully. Not recommended.

Very tasty. We went there because we had tickets for Starlight Express. We chose Vapiano because they also serve gluten-free pinsa. It was delicious, and the gluten-free pinsa was especially good. The kids' menu was unbeatable value for money. The staff was very friendly.

I waited almost 40 minutes for pasta carbonara. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the concept still had flaws. The carbonara tasted good, but you had to hunt for the cream sauce. I'll let that pass as creative creativity. I won't necessarily be coming back here again after my first visit. It's okay to stop by now, but it won't become a favorite.

The food was very bad and had no flavor. I ordered a carbonara, which simply tasted like milk, and the penne pasta wasn't cooked properly, and the water didn't taste good either. We waited an hour for the food.

If you're in Bochuma, don't miss this place! It's a large restaurant. You can find all kinds of food. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered spaghetti and orange juice. I highly recommend it. The restaurant manager and staff were very attentive.

We like the large selection of pasta (including zoodles). The restaurant is also always very clean. One point deducted for the sometimes very long wait times at the pasta stations.

I ordered a Pizza Verona and it arrived quickly.

I would have preferred the Vapiano flavor in the pasta. Unfortunately, I couldn't detect any flavor at all. It was boiled pasta without salt. This has absolutely nothing to do with the special flavor Vapiano used to offer. We waited 45 minutes for the food, and I can say that nothing changed. I would definitely not recommend it. It's a shame I'm from another city.

On Monday, I was at Vapiano in Bochum for the first time in a while. It's really cool that you can now order as a group using a QR code, so everyone can enjoy their food at the same time. We all had fun with the group order. What I didn't like at all, however, was the tiramisu. It's always one of my highlights at Vapiano. The taste is still very good. But the size is ridiculous these days. The glass is only half as big as before (maybe even a little less), and only half full. The price, however, has remained the same. That's a real shame, and to be honest, I think it's outrageous. Otherwise, we were all quite satisfied.

We went to Vapiano yesterday for the first time in a long time. Before the coronavirus pandemic, we were regulars. What I didn't like at all was ordering with a QR code. There was no menu, just for specials or promotions. If you order via QR code, the food is brought to your table and you also pay, so there's no contact with the staff; no one comes to ask if you like it. That's one thing, some people like the anonymous one, I don't. My linguine with pesto was way too salty and lukewarm. A shame. The iced tea was very good. The baguette, as in the past, was very tasty. The extra bread with dip was OK. The dips were tasty, but the dry pieces of bread were a disaster. I don't know if we'll be regulars again; I don't think so. A shame.

Great restaurant! First I have to emphasize how advanced this Vapiano is. I know it from other restaurants, e.g. the Vapiano in Duisburg, that you come into the Vapiano, get a card and then stand at the counter and order and wait while it is prepared. Depending on how busy the restaurant is, this can sometimes take a lot of time. The Vapiano in Bochum is much better - here you can sit down at a table directly (without a card) and order everything on your cell phone using the QR code there. The food is then brought to the table. If you want to order something else, you simply take out your cell phone and order again. You can also pay using your cell phone - no waiting in line to pay at the checkout. Simple, quick and uncomplicated. :) The food and service were great too :)

Yes, absolutely. Lunch deal from Monday to Friday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. for EUR 12.50/person. We'll definitely be back with the dog regulars' table soon.

First and foremost, you pay for the name here. The food itself is at most “standard”. Nothing special, but ok. When we entered we were told that the ordering process was now done via mobile phone and the food would then be delivered directly to the table. So far so good... Unfortunately you can't just study the menu in the app beforehand, you can actually just order. It would be better if you scan the QR code, everyone has the menu in front of them, can decide... and one participant can then order for everyone at the table. Reordering is also only possible via the app/website. Payment via Google Pay or credit card. For example, there is no Paypal. The Pizza Bunny was nicely prepared and a nice idea.

The food, Linguine Gambereti Spinaci, was not good at all. Little shrimp. Overall very dry and little. Things were much better a few years ago. There is no service. Very dark atmosphere. When paying, the tip was automatically withheld. Unusual.

After about ten years, I was finally back at Vapiano Bochum yesterday – and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised! My brother had already raved about the lunch menu in advance, so we went there in the late afternoon. The concept has changed a bit: you can now order conveniently using a QR code at the table, which I personally find much more pleasant than the previous queuing. The service was very relaxed and friendly. For the food: I chose the Penne Arrabbiata – a simple choice but tasted great! The noodles were on point, the sauce was nice and spicy and pleasantly spicy. My brother had the Bolognese, which was also delicious. We treated ourselves to a bruschetta beforehand – that was also really good. At the end there was an espresso, which was served with a glass of water - a small detail that is not a given everywhere. The atmosphere was pleasant and the restaurant is in a nice square - there is currently still a construction site there, but that will change soon. Another plus: free WiFi, so you could also work from there. I will definitely try the lunch menu soon. Vapiano Bochum is definitely worth a visit!

The store is spacious and bright. Order by scanning the QR code on your mobile phone. However, the internet is slow and I can't connect. I can't connect to other sites either, so it's probably Telekom's fault. Order from the central counter. The ordering and servers are friendly. But the taste of Margherita is...German.

Unfortunately, the pesto only consists of water and the cheese couldn't be less... it's a shame it was different!

They have changed a few things. The service used to be better. Everything is slimmed down. The prices are quite high and the quality has become worse. I paid 16.50 euros for a product that had become worse and then had to pay 50 cents for the box to take with me. I think it's going down the drain....👇 I probably won't eat here anymore... That was the worst service I have ever experienced. After 60 minutes the pasta came half warm, after 80 minutes the pizza finally arrived and after asking 5 times.

Unfortunately not recommended. The service staff were nice, but we waited far too long for the drinks and food. The processes seemed disorganized. The concept of digital ordering appealed to us, but - as described - it was not yet fully developed.

The Vapiano is a cozy restaurant with delicious pasta and pizza/pinsa dishes. The self-service concept takes a different approach than most Vapiano restaurants. No chip cards, no counter and no terminal. Guests scan the table code and then order via their mobile phone. Positive: You can also place an order with the employees. Individual wishes are implemented. The food and drinks are then brought to the table. This works very well. In general, the staff is very friendly and attentive. The Vapiano in Bochum is located in the center and is one of the chain's larger restaurants. Big plus point: A lot of the tables are of normal height and have normal high stools and no bar tables with bar stools/chairs. The food is typical of Vapino, the ingredients seem fresh and are prepared deliciously. The noodles aren't too al dente either. The restaurant is barrier-free and there is also a barrier-free toilet. The normal toilet facilities, however, can be reached via a staircase in the basement. We have been here four times in the last two years and would love to come back when we find ourselves in the Ruhr area.

Food was ok. Pasta was very al dente. Service was terrible. Dirty plates from previous guests were not cleared away. Drinks delivery took forever. Ambience was very nice. Otherwise it was the last time I was there.

Waitress didn't know much about drinks. Food was frozen. Cold and without taste. For the price you can eat a decent currywurst somewhere else.

After switching to QR code orders, the visit was much more pleasant. The food was also very tasty.

You can tell here that the owner only thinks about making more profit and doesn't care about quality. There is a new system for orders via QR code to once again save on personnel costs. Unfortunately, this system doesn't work at all. After waiting half an hour with a small child, we discovered that our order had not been taken at all, even though we had ordered at the counter. We got our money back and had to find a new restaurant at 8pm. Such measures without proper planning bring no profit in the long term, but only more loss and damage.

The food tasted good though. But the portions have become smaller. You also save on extra Parmesan. The service was totally overwhelmed when taking the order. Also in billing. Drinks should, strangely enough, be paid for separately. Just entering it into the cash register took 10 minutes. Four of us. An hour before the end the lights were almost turned off so we had to leave the restaurant in the dark.

It was our first time in Bochum, as we come from Munich and only knew the chip card system, we were thrilled. Here they switched to the digital version, which impressed me very much. I couldn't make payment on my cell phone, but that was certainly still the word... At the end of my visit, I paid at the checkout and was informed that the new system in Bochum had only been there for a few days. Price-performance ratio works well for me.

I was a customer of Vapiano at various locations for many years. Over the years I have noticed how much the concept of Vapiano in Bochum has changed and today I would like to share my current impression. atmosphere Due to the construction site in front of the restaurant, it is currently not worth eating outside. This means that the restaurant currently appears very inconspicuous. Today I could only tell whether the branch was open when I stood in front of the door and saw an employee at the reception. From the outside and from a distance it looked like it was closed. Visually, not much has changed in the interior over the years. Unfortunately, behind the preparation areas it no longer looks as inviting as it used to. Instead of fresh ingredients, pasta, etc., the first thing you notice is a lot of cans from Mutti. At the same time, this has an aftertaste that I will explain later. The experience It used to be nice to place orders and watch live cooking as your own dish was prepared. At the same time, you got to talk to the staff, which overall seemed to shorten the waiting time. Today it's different. You order your food at a central point, receive a beeper and sit down wherever there is space to wait. The taste I ordered the beef broccoli pasta and tried it for the first time today. I was anything but impressed with the taste. The vegetables were quite tasteless. The beef was mostly well cooked. A few pieces seemed quite tough. I already mentioned Mom's cans elsewhere. These raised fears that the sauce came 1:1 from a can. The taste seems to have been the same. She seemed boring. After the first bite, I immediately thought “I was here for the last time”. service At the reception and when ordering, the staff was 1 with stars. Both people seemed very nice and competent. The chefs, on the other hand, seemed annoyed and not motivated. From my perspective, the latter was also reflected in the taste. Price In addition to the lack of taste and the atmosphere that has become worse over the years, there is also a significant increase in prices. My dish was €18.50 + deposit for the take away packaging. That bears no relation to what you receive and are offered there. Conclusion My conclusion is clear. It was my last time at Vapiano. The taste is boring combined with such a high price and a lack of quality. It is better to resort to alternatives or to prepare similar recipes at home. Given the price, there are enough options to cook dishes with fresh ingredients.

I think this is one of the best restaurants on my list, Pinsa Margerita is really delicious

We have always ordered the lunch deal straight away, which is a great offer at lunchtime, especially as a student. Ate here at the end of the semester 3 out of 4 semesters. Chicken Alfredo is a dream with the chili oil. It's great that you have a selection of pasta. Delicious homemade drinks. Tables could be cleaner. Top concept with self-collection and payment to relieve the employees. Nice, cozy furnishings, good location. Modern toilet

As other reviewers have already rightly pointed out, the price-performance ratio is not even close. I had a vegetarian pasta dish, a small side salad and an apple juice and had to pay almost 25 euros for it. Five euros were charged for the apple juice alone. Since it was relatively full on the Saturday I visited VAPIANO, I could only sit on a stool (without a backrest), which was anything but comfortable. The taste of the food was OK. However, given the price, one could/should have expected something more delicate.
