When I wanted to go out for lunch with my husband, as we have often done before, we sat outside on the terrace in the best weather, luckily it wasn't that full. Several waiters saw us and checked on us several times. When about 15-20 minutes had passed, we asked ourselves why we weren't served at all, but were rather knowingly ignored (as I said, it wasn't that full). Up until that point, we hadn't even been given a menu to look at, let alone something drink. My husband got up and asked a waitress, to which she replied snidely, “If you want to be served, you have to register here!” Um... sorry... I've never experienced anything like that in any restaurant and NEVER at The ash. My husband and I just looked at each other in shock and left the restaurant without eating anything. The waitress saw this and laughed. It's a shame that customers are treated like this, especially since several guests also noticed it. We'll NEVER come back, because apparently you're not wanted anyway!

It wasn't that crowded, but you had to wait a long time for service. Fruit only on request at the buffet. It used to be better. We'll try again, but maybe things will get better so that it's back to the way it used to be

For the price I have to say the food is very mediocre as I have had better spare ribs or steaks in some snack bars. My rib was almost cold and my wife's fillet was almost raw instead of medium but this was quickly remedied, after that the fillet was tasty but the king prawns were very tough. Well, on the whole it doesn't have to happen again. It's a shame that I spent around 100 euros for 2 people 2 years ago and it was great :/

The four of us ate steak with side dishes. All very tasty. Unfortunately only lukewarm. Until the food was brought to the table, it sat on the counter for a while, ready to be picked up. Seemed to be a general problem that evening. The bell rang during a tour, but the food was often not picked up until minutes later. I don't have to have it again.

For this price, one of the worst experiences I've had. Cola is either not original or mixed with syrup (my cola tasted like water), meat was just raw and cold in the middle, employees talk to each other all the time and don't serve anyone or put anything away. For this price it's really catastrophic.

We were at Ash for the first time today and are completely satisfied :) the food was great and the waitresses were always helpful and kept asking if everything was good and if you needed anything else :) very friendly :) The location is very nicely done even if it is a bit noisy. But that doesn't stop. we will definitely come back. Thanks :)

Very very tasty food. The staff was also super friendly and accommodating. Despite it being Easter, you had enough staff to keep everyone happy. We were completely satisfied with the children because they were also very satisfied.

Not only is the Sunday brunch recommended, the lunch specials are also very good.

Service was very friendly and attentive, the burgers were very tasty, THE SPICY ONE for €16.75 patty | jalapenos | guacamole | cheddar | nachos | chili salsa | lettuce with fries and mayo could have been a little sharper CRISPY CHICKEN for 18.90 crispy corn chicken | honey-mustard dressing | salad | tomato delicious Fries and mayonnaise were not charged, either forgotten or it is always included with the burger. I just saw it today on the receipt that it wasn't charged. If it was forgotten, I think €1.75 for the mayo is way too expensive We found the ambience to be a bit loud, which is why we only gave it 4 stars

I liked everything here: from the taste, from the serving, to the service, to the entire ambience. The prices are absolutely justified for the service provided! If the quality and service-oriented approach remains the same, I would be happy to come back!

The ambience was really great and the service was very good. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that great. We had 3 sirloin steaks, all ordered medium, one was medium rare. It can happen, we were offered to put it on the grill again, but we declined due to a lack of time on our part. What was a bit of a shame, however, was that everything tasted a bit bland and wasn't really seasoned. The mashed potatoes had something from the hospital food, with no seasoning. The green spagel wasn't that sparkling and bland, and the rosemary potatoes didn't really have anything to do with rosemary potatoes either. Totally unloving, maybe we were just unlucky today. But it was too expensive for what was offered. It's a real shame because the staff and the atmosphere are really great. The kitchen, on the other hand, unfortunately ruined the impression.

Food was okay so far, cheeseburger and hamburger plus 2 drinks were quite expensive for the portion.

Were there for the all you can eat ribs. Side dishes are not included and must be paid for separately. The service was super nice, unfortunately it took a while to get a refill. We were there for 2 hours and managed 4 ribs each. Definitely a recommendation.

We had steak and it was really great. The Steakhouse Fries were a bit too dry for my taste.

The food was good to very good. The staff was friendly, but sometimes very inattentive. Longer waiting times.

Big disappointment – ​​incompetent and rude manager! Our visit was a disaster. The dish was served to us cold and when we asked for a solution the manager (a bald man) responded with arrogance and disinterest. Instead of dealing with the problem, he replied coldly that he “can’t do anything.” No suggestion for a solution, no apology, nothing. He told us to wait 20 minutes - but we waited over 40 minutes and never got the dish. The manager was not only rude but dishonest and completely incompetent. When we left, he didn't even apologize, he just turned away pointedly. Even worse, a waiter accidentally hit our child with his elbow as he walked past - without a single word of apology. We had ordered a children's menu, but unlike other guests, our child was not given pencils or a coloring book until we asked for them ourselves. And then another 20 minutes of waiting for the bill. Behavior that is completely unprofessional. This restaurant is absolutely not recommended. No respect, no service, no apology.

Service staff very friendly and quick, the spare ribs and the cow salad were super tasty, the sweet potatoes were only edible on the second attempt, but the service solved this in a very friendly manner. Ambiance like in all the ash restaurants where I was “nice/cool”

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The ASH in Bochum and my experience was entirely positive. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by a friendly team and escorted to my table. The atmosphere was inviting and stylish, which made the evening particularly enjoyable. My main course, a fillet steak, was cooked to perfection and of excellent quality. I chose the sweet potato fries, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside - a real treat. The portion sizes were generous and the value for money was reasonable. I was particularly impressed by the attentive service. Despite the busy restaurant, my orders were taken and served quickly. The staff was always present without being intrusive and responded to individual requests. Overall, I can unreservedly recommend The ASH in Bochum. For lovers of high-quality food in a pleasant atmosphere, it is definitely worth a visit.

-Atmosphere is awesome! -Without a reservation you have to sit at the bar, even though there are seats available (which you can get later) -after about 5-10 minutes you get your first drink even though you're sitting right at the bar.... -After 30 minutes we were finally allowed to go to the table which was free the whole time... (upon request, or the bar was full/but not everything else) -After we got the card, we had to wait another 5-10 minutes.... nobody felt like we and the others were on their radar... -Ordered food from a nice lady and it came extremely quickly (thanks to the serving manager who does a great job) -Burger meat was good but the burger itself was dry. Fries were very good and the sauces too! -Drinks= the spritzers weren't good at all and the others were standard Conclusion: It was OK... not again The provider tried to have our review deleted due to the negative opinion.

We were there on a Saturday evening. The parking situation was very challenging :D But the restaurant can't do much about it. We were quickly escorted to our reserved table, the orders were taken quickly and drinks and food came really quickly, despite the restaurant being full. The service was great, the food was really good too. However, compared to what you get, the food is really expensive. As I said, they are good, but I pay at least 3-4 euros more per dish than in comparable restaurants. The dishes without meat are particularly tasty.

Leckeres Restaurant mit Burgern und Steaks. Die Burger sind gut, aber nicht aussergewöhnlich. Die Chilli-Cheese Pommes sind sehr lecker aber auch nicht aussergewöhnlich. Das Ambiente hingegen ist aussergewöhnlich, was die Erwartungshaltung bzgl. der Burger (zu)hoch werden lässt. Das Personal ist aber aussergewöhnlich freundlich, herzlich und zuvorkommend! Da können sich viele eine Scheibe abschneiden!! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Kompliment, vielen Dank!

The food is very tasty, but the vegan dishes are quite expensive compared to the meatball dishes. (Main course 28.90) Overall, we were served very quickly; we were there for a total of 75 minutes with two courses and three people, and that was for a Saturday afternoon! :)

The look was really well chosen. The tables are nice and big and the decorations are cool... especially the painted skulls on the tables. The food is really good, of course the place is known for its steaks but I generally prefer burgers and they are really good here. (I recommend the mayo with the fries) I think very, very many people will be happy with the selection, even if they are vegetarians. The employees make a nice impression. Yes. So I don't think there's anything wrong with that The store is good🤷

Wir haben Reserviert und auch sehr zufrieden stellend Pünktlich einen angenehmen Sitzplatz erhalten. Das Restaurant ist vom Design zwar etwas dunkel gehalten, dennoch ist uns Positiv in Erinnerung geblieben, dass man sehr viel Platz für sich hatte. Die Tische sind groß, die Stühle sehr weich und bequem und man hat für sich durchaus genug Platz. Das können nicht viele Restaurants von sich behaupten. Innen sehr Modern gestaltet mit LED Akzenten und vielen Feuerstellen (teils auch Digitale mit LED Wänden). Die Bedienung war sehr Höflich und zuvorkommend. Durchaus stets interessiert auch nach dem Hauptgang als wir uns einfach etwas Unterhalten haben. Die Rechnung kam schnell. In dem Lokal ist es sehr angenehm warm und die Lautstärke hat sich der Größe nach auch sehr normal angefühlt. Das Essen (in unserem Fall Burger) war durchaus gut und kam binnen 15 Minuten mit Beilagen. Durchaus ein sehr zufriedenstellender Besuch, wir kommen gern wieder!

We had dinner at The Ash in Bochum on Saturday evening and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The service was excellent - attentive but never intrusive. Not only was the food delicious, but it was also served surprisingly quickly. What particularly struck us was the pleasant ambience: cozy and inviting. We felt completely comfortable and would love to come back!

Well, I really don't have to have it again. The atmosphere is quite nice, but we were almost the only guests. But I didn't want to look at the furniture, I wanted to eat something decent. Unfortunately that didn't work. The service was nice but chatter. Be that as it may, better than nothing. The 🍔 was clear and tasteless. The fries were cold and soggy and went back. When fresh fries arrived we had already finished the 🍔 in 10 minutes. Everything is more about show than quality. You can get a decent 🍔 for half the money at any well-stocked chip shop. It was an (overpriced) attempt. Failed miserably.

Overall, the visit to The Ash Bochum was okay, but unfortunately not quite what we expected for the high price. What should be positively highlighted is the really nice ambience - stylishly furnished and very attractively decorated. The staff were also consistently friendly and polite, which made the stay more pleasant. 5 stars. Unfortunately there were some deficiencies in the food. The white wine was not cooled enough and the glass was still warm from the dishwasher - which of course reduces the enjoyment. The burrata was neither creamy nor attractively presented and did not justify the high price. There were three small pieces of cartilage or bone in the burger, which significantly affected the enjoyment. Unfortunately, the knife wasn't completely clean. In terms of taste, the food was okay, but nothing special - we would have expected more overall for the prices quoted. Conclusion: Nice atmosphere, friendly service, but the quality of the food could definitely be improved. Please note that this is my personal impression.

Incredibly bad service, it ruins the whole evening

It's quite loud and the lighting isn't great either. You're constantly looking at a flickering light bulb. You sit quite comfortably, the table is glued. The service was ok, but could have been better. Often the cutlery was only brought after the meal. The food itself was too cold and not great either, especially for the price. The meat was tough, the asparagus was woody at all ends. I definitely wouldn't recommend steak.

We are always amazed by the service and friendliness of all the employees! We never feel so comfortable and welcome in any other restaurant. The kitchen delivers a top performance which is reflected in the good food!

The food was good, solid 4 stars. Unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired. A bit inattentive and sometimes careless. The ambience was pleasant, stylishly decorated, and despite the size of the restaurant, the noise was surprisingly tolerable. Overall a mixed experience.

We went out to eat here super hungry after an afternoon at Boda Borg (also highly recommended). The first thing you notice is the huge wall with bottles and the screens with the flames, which immediately creates an extraordinary ambience. We were able to go straight to our table and had cool drinks and hot food very quickly, all perfectly at the same time. Top! I had the truffle pasta with freshly shaved truffles, which was suggested in a previous review and implemented by the restaurant, so it's worthy of criticism, I think it's great. The pasta was absolutely amazing, I could have eaten another portion. The service was also very attentive and friendly, even though it was busy. I can absolutely recommend a visit here!
