The service leaves a lot to be desired. A 30-minute wait just to get the menu is pretty poor.

A super-friendly waitress immediately gave us an umbrella so we could get to our car dry. I thought that was incredibly thoughtful and made our visit even more special. We had an extremely bad experience in Cologne in July. We communicated with Ash via email and as compensation we were given a meal on the house. We went to a BBQ event in Bochum. It was below average. The salad was empty and not refilled, like everything else at the buffet; nothing was really well chilled or kept warm. Extremely limited selection or simply not refilled. Lots of ready-made stuff. At the grill, you could have something grilled from a predetermined selection. It took forever and the quality was not particularly good; extremely small portions and nothing arrived cooked to the ordered degree. Worst BBQ, unfortunately. Service was poor. There was a constant lack of crockery and cutlery, and no active service. We are truly extremely disappointed.

Reliable quality in both food and service! Unlike other The Ash restaurants, I'm only here while shopping in the Ruhrpark, so I won't be having the delicious steak in Bochum, but rather something "smaller." This time I chose "The Greek" burger from the daily specials menu, with fries and a drink for €10.95 – more than fair! I like going to The Ash because I can rely on both the quality of the food and the friendly service! The meal was served very quickly, with a friendly smile, and they even asked me if everything was okay. I really enjoy coming here, and the only downside was the ambiance, as the outdoor chairs already have a few stains. It's probably unavoidable, but it just doesn't look that nice. I'll be happy to come back!

The food was excellent; I ordered a rump steak, which was cooked exactly as requested. As a side dish, I had perfectly fried fries, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The drinks were also delicious, and the service was excellent. Eating here is definitely worth it 🙂

I had a rump steak, cooked perfectly medium as requested. The rosemary potatoes with chimichurro were amazing! 😋 The appetizer was also particularly excellent, in my case the burrata caprese.

Ash in Bochum has gone downhill a lot. Asked for the children's menu, but they didn't have any left. After waiting for an hour, we asked what was happening to our food. It was supposed to be ready soon. A couple with two children sat down at the next table and suddenly had a children's menu. They then copied our food all at once. After another 20 minutes, our food arrived. The steak was cooked well instead of medium. Unfortunately, the hollandaise sauce was taken off the menu. Dessert also didn't arrive for another 30 minutes. We will be going back to Ash in Dortmund soon. The service there is definitely more attentive and friendlier to younger guests.

After waiting 20 minutes, we wanted to order the burgers. The specials are available online, but they're not being sold. So, customers are being lured by special offers to pay higher prices in person. That's completely unacceptable.

This was my first visit, and I was very shocked by the cleanliness of the restaurant. The chairs and tables outside were simply dirty and sticky. It's a shame; I wouldn't go back. The burgers and fries tasted okay, but unfortunately, they were only lukewarm.

Service was a disaster, tables were dirty and sticky! Empty glasses, no questions asked, nothing! Better sit on the terrace among the guests and smoke! You'll never see us again, better go back to Ash at Europaplatz in Dortmund.

We were there on Saturday evening, and it was a thoroughly disappointing evening. The restaurant was packed, with a cafeteria-like atmosphere. You only have privacy because it's so loud that the table next to you can't hear you. Otherwise, you sit next to each other. The upper, quieter floor was closed despite the restaurant being full. We waited more than an hour for our food! A complete no-go. Many guests around us also complained about the wait. The only excuses were ridiculous. If someone had pointed out the long wait beforehand, they might have been a bit more understanding. When the waitress asked if everything was okay while clearing the table and I told her how we felt, she said in a very snippy tone, "I can get the manager..." He should have gone from table to table and apologized! Absolutely not recommended. Zero atmosphere, absolutely unsuitable for a nice date. The food was very good, but you can get it in many other restaurants with the same atmosphere, friendly staff and much quieter food.

The restaurant is really nice and has a nice, young staff who were very friendly, but in our opinion, very overwhelmed, which is hopefully "only" due to a lack of staff and not poor management. We waited a very long time to order, for our food, and we were never asked for drinks. We had to spend three hours in the restaurant, which could have been a nice evening with drinks. The food was okay, the chicken burger was too dry, but the fries and steaks were top-notch. The cheesecake we ordered with coffee was then given to us free of charge as an apology after another 30 minutes of waiting and cold coffee. I'm not giving the service two stars because the staff weren't diligent—quite the opposite—but they were simply too busy.

The restaurant was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and respectful. The restaurant also offers a very friendly atmosphere. The setting fits the somewhat flaming logo very well, and with the rather rustic Texas style, it's perfect for the food, which is also rather wild and rustic, so typically Texan, I would say, in a cliché sense. Definitely worth a visit for anyone who likes meat and is willing to spend a bit for the experience.

The fries were cold. We got new ones after we'd already finished eating. A drink was spilled during service, with the staff member commenting, "That always happens to me." I had to ask another server to clean up the spill. We've been there once... I think that's enough.

My favorite restaurant!!! I go there every time I want to treat myself and my family. For my birthday, they always surprise me with something different. I recommend the specialty cuts of meat, the Moscow Mule, and the Cuba Libre. 🥂

The outdoor seating and tables are unfortunately dirty and urgently need to be cleaned or replaced. Two of the three waiters were abysmal, the service was truly not customer-focused and, at times, arrogant towards the guests. The beef fillet was riddled with tendons, the burger was absolutely dry, and that for the price. Absolutely overrated.

A disaster in service. The waitresses are all very nice, but the wait time is outrageous. One server at lunchtime for the entire restaurant. A shameful way of cutting costs. Medium-well still needs to be learned. For the third time in a row, it was either too rare or too well done. Given these prices, you'd expect better know-how.

Everything was delicious, and the waitress, Dilcan, was super friendly, authentic, and carried us through the evening with her personality. This used to be good. The menu is clearly ruined. The food is grilled to death. The meat is tough. Drinks were forgotten several times at the table. The chairs are worn out—the seating is way too low. It's as loud as a gym. Guys! We're sure we're used to it differently from you. What's going on? And no—I've been a regular for years. And I've had this disastrous experience three times in a row. Correct that—there's no seeing you again until that happens.

The staff strives to ensure guests have a pleasant experience. Ambience: The ambiance is stylish and inviting. However, the benches are now quite worn – the seating is very low and rather uncomfortable. Food: This is the biggest criticism. The burgers were unfortunately completely tasteless – neither spicy nor juicy. The truffle pasta also didn't live up to its promise: there was absolutely no trace of the truffle flavor. My medium steak was almost cooked – no trace of the quality I'd always expected. Conclusion: The service and atmosphere continue to impress. However, the food – once the restaurant's flagship – leaves a lot to be desired. A real shame. I hope it returns to its former glory.

We went to The Ash for a BBQ on Sunday. We were very satisfied. The selection was very good and the food very tasty. The "chef of the grill" deserves praise. Ordered medium rare... and got medium rare, and that was the first, second, and third time. He just knew how to do it. We were served steak, chicken, salmon, and shrimp. Side dishes included jacket potatoes, various breads, vegetables, etc. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive. There might be a few minor improvements here and there... but we'll be fine. We'll definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely Sunday and a great meal.

The all-you-can-eat barbecue is highly recommended. We enjoyed everything; the salads were fresh and the side dishes were delicious. And the service was pleasant, fast, and friendly. All in all, a perfect evening in Bochum.

I've been to The ASH in Bochum several times now, and I have to honestly say: I don't understand the hype. The food is completely overpriced for what you get. The burgers are often dry, the meat tastes like rubber, and somehow everything is just for show. The main thing is the fancy decoration on the plate, but the taste is absolutely disappointing. The place seems chic at first glance, but upon closer inspection, there's nothing real about it. You realize it's all about appearing "cool" – but neither the service nor the quality can keep up. Overall, just disappointing. Bad atmosphere, mediocre food, and you really wonder who even wants to go there anymore. But hey, if you like cold fries, expensive boredom, and fake smiles, you'll be happy here.

Unfortunately, you rarely find burgers as good as here.

Sorry, this place didn't convince me. We were there for brunch. I couldn't recommend it in good conscience. What could be improved? Attract the age of the guests. Young people in their 20s want to be addressed differently than people in their 50s or 80s. The topic of tips: what a satisfied guest is happy to pay. But they don't want to tip with card payments... yes... 10... 11... or 12 percent. The old school probably wouldn't even ask, but if they did, it would be different and discreet.

We were here for Sunday brunch. The food was really good. Filter coffee is included in the buffet. The ambiance is truly harmonious and beautiful. We'll be back.
