Vapiano in Kaiserslautern

Came for the reef and beef at about 6pm beginning of dinner on a Thursday evening and they’re out of beef. Completely ruined my appetite.

Er gab uns genug Zeit, um die richtige Wahl zu treffen, und war immer bereit, uns mit seinen Empfehlungen zur Verfeinerung des Essens zu unterstützen, die perfekt zu unseren Wünschen passten. Es war, als ob er genau wusste, was wir brauchten – Guillain hat uns Gerichte gezaubert, die unsere Erwartungen übertrafen. Es war mehr als nur ein Essen – es war ein rundum persönliches Erlebnis, das mit Herzlichkeit und Hingabe zubereitet wurde. Wir haben den Abend wirklich genossen und kommen gerne wieder!

We were there on a Wednesday, after 3 p.m. and there wasn't much going on. The gentlemen who prepared the food wore dirty aprons and were haphazard and therefore slow in their preparation; one of them was trained in the process. The entire counter, including the separator guard, at the food counter was dirty, as were the tables, especially where there were salt/pepper, vinegar/oil. The pasta was undercooked, the bruschetta was good. When we paid I said it was dirty and we were given a discount without asking. In older recessions people wrote about the lack of cleanliness, but that hasn't changed anything. The employees didn't have much to do, but were unable to clean or restock the empty shelves behind them. We've been to various other Vapiano's that were sour, we won't be going here anymore. It's a shame, because the restaurant itself is nice.

We ate here and ordered. Our orders were taken individually at different counters, so it was not possible to eat together as a family. I found this factor to be a shame because the second family we were traveling with could take all their orders at one terminal. That's not enough. Sometimes dishes were served unfinished or simply forgotten. Only after this was pointed out did they grumpily set about fixing the error. There was no apology or sorry. As a paying guest, I can expect optimal service, even when there is a shift change or my break is imminent. The food wasn't seasoned and didn't taste that good despite the seasoning. We will definitely no longer be guests at Vapiano in Kaiserslautern.

The food is good. For me the ambience has something of a cafeteria or Globus restaurant, as it's too spacious. I think the store is overpriced for the fact that it is self-service.

No wonder Vapiano is bankrupt. The room here was super cold. The employees actually had no idea what to do and made you wait at the counter for ages until you could order. The Bolognese was more of a tomato sauce with minimal traces of meat, so every bag of bolo tastes better. Noodles were far too soft, my friend's pasta was far too hard and not cooked through. Plus, the food wasn't even really hot. We'll never eat here again.

Very good food, with acceptable preparation time. The ambience is a bit bare and 'loft-like', but on the other hand you have peace and quiet here. Overall, highly recommended.

Food was very good. Could be a bit cleaner overall (tables, oil stand on the table, beeper)

Chef was extremely rude, food was tasteless. We won't eat here again.

The food was delicious, but the entire restaurant is very unkempt. Everything is so greasy from the fumes, you can't touch anything. Bathrooms in a bad condition... you don't really want to know what the kitchen looks like... what a shame!

Food was absolutely mid. I don’t like the school style wait in line with a tray service. Also your cooks struggling cooking each meal in a certain time limit sweating their ass off. Interesting concept but definitely missed the mark.

Delicious foods, a cosy place...

One of my favorite pasta restaurants. They make it right in front of you so you can add or take out whatever ingredients you wish to. My favorite is the reef n beef pasta with penne

As always, pretty good here. Food tastes good, you don't have to wait too long and the atmosphere is right. It could just be a little cleaner in some corners!

After a stroll through the city, it's worth taking a break to relax and unwind. Here in the restaurant everything is done to ensure that you can enjoy delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere

Ging super schnell, sehr große und schöne Filiale. Mitarbeiter alle schnell und freundlich. Qualität vom Essen, wie man Vapiano kennt gut. Man zahlt später beim raus gehen auf einer Vapiano Karte. Kann nichts negatives sagen. Kommen gerne wieder.

Terrible and never again 😂 There are flyers on the tables for offers. It's only stupid if the employees don't know their way around. Cooperative? Not at all. Instead, unfriendly, aggressive and insulting. This store doesn't even deserve one star. The food was okay for that. Be careful with the drinks. We ordered a non-alcoholic Lillet and got it with alcohol instead! Unfortunately noticed too late. That was the worst visit to a Vapiano I've ever had. Apart from that everything was dirty and the dishes were piled up on the tables.

Unfortunately it has deteriorated significantly. Soup was "empty" or was probably simply not available at 6 p.m. There was also no baguette with the salad anymore because there was supposedly so much going on on Saturdays. Salat Mista has downsized and the price of chicken has increased significantly to 4.80. We will no longer choose Vapiano.

The staff are friendly and their food is delicious. They offer free kids meals on Sunday. I highly recommend it.

Salad with brown leaves, more water than dressing. Toilets not clean, no toilet paper, no soap. The place itself doesn't seem really clean. I used to enjoy eating there, but now I notice that they have slacked off a lot. Very unfortunate.

Whenever I'm here I order pasta. The pasta itself is always very tasty, but the sauces weren't always 100% convincing. In the Vapiano in Munich, for example, the carbonara tasted much more intense than in Kaiserslautern. Nonetheless, I enjoy going here and always enjoy the food.

Short and sweet: My order was forgotten (even though it really wasn't busy), my wife ate her pasta alone, I paid for my overpriced coke and I left Vapiano hungry. An absolute no-go!

There were 5 of us there. (3 adults & 2 children) We all enjoyed the food very much. We had different pasta dishes. The smoking area (outside) is not far from the games corner (inside). You get to see the kids, which is really great. Price performance is great.

Been there for the second time and unfortunately wasn't convinced. The food is okay but not tasty. Portions are very small which doesn't do justice to the price-performance ratio. There is definitely better. A pity

The pasta is amazing! Very good texture and taste. The pasta seems fuller and nice. The options are great, with many different types of pastas to choose from. You also get to pick what kind of pasta noodles you want, which makes the options almost endless. The atmosphere is also fantastic. Fancy but not overly fancy. It has a nice homey and welcoming feel. Would recommend for anyone to come and get some fantastic pasta or even salad. Maybe even pizza. Also the views are nice to see the city and enjoy it while eating good Italian food is even better. Just stop by and give it a chance, I'm sure you will be pleased. Not even that expensive is a great bonus!

First time trying this place, and what a treat. I just got a takeaway, but the pasta guy was very nice. He explained how the ordering process worked with great customer service. And of course I know I'm in Germany but having just arrived, it's nice to have English speaking staff and menus available. I got the Carbanera Salmone. I could choose my pasta, spaghetti for me, and it tasted delicious. Also, my takeaway was put in a proper container, which kept it very nice on the way back to my hotel room. That's a plus in my book. It was suppertime, and the restaurant has no ac but a lot of sunshine. It was a little toasty inside, but maybe it was cooler in the back of the dining area. I didn't make it back there. Did I mention the price was reasonable for the area, and yet you get so much more for your money. I'll definitely be coming back and trying a few more menu items.

Great place and atmosphere. The way you order food is unique. They give you a card to add your order to and then use that card to show what you ordered. Food is prepared in front of you and you will get a buzzer when your order is complete.

This Vapiano is beautifully decorated and offers a classic selection of Italian dishes. What bothered me about the food was neither the quality nor the preparation, but the portion size was a bit small for the price.

We came specifically from Saarbrücken on Sunday June 16th because the Vapiano there was unfortunately closed. As Italians, we have to say that Vapiano has by far the best pasta and, above all, you can't find homemade pasta anywhere else. We were there very early and were warmly welcomed with our two children in the stroller and taken to the elevator. To our surprise, there were even 2 play areas (I haven't seen them in any Vapiano before) and, coincidentally, on Sundays there were also 2 children's menus for free. The food was great as always (1 star deducted only because of the lack of salt in the pasta or perhaps in the pasta water?) Also, instead of the usual garlic oil, a whole clove of garlic was cut into the sauce. But regardless, the visit was worth it. Everyone was happy. Mom and Dad could eat in peace while the children had fun. And the man/coordinator present was really very friendly and helpful. We will be back !

I only give 3 stars for the service because you can't order the side salad from the pasta counter. So you first have to go to the salad counter and then to the pasta counter. Otherwise the noodles will get cold

People enjoy sitting here. In Kaiserslautern everything was always delicious and fresh. In some other cities I didn't have such good experiences with Vapiano. But Vapiano Kaiserslautern is a recommendation!

We were there for the first time. We didn't know the concept. At the entrance we were asked if we had been there before. We were given the cards and told that the order would be taken and paid for at the end. However, we didn't know it was self-service. We waited at the table for a while but nothing happened. None of the 5 employees came over to enlighten us even though there was nothing to do and everyone was standing together talking. We then went to the counter to order ourselves. What was negative was the hygienic conditions. At the counter, the grease on the bar dripped several meters from above (onto my hand and card reader). It was then removed by the employee after being informed. Our table was also unpleasantly greasy. On the toilet, the edge of the vanity was swollen with water and the bar was completely missing. Overall unhygienic. The food (pizza) had a crust that was much too hard and the colder the pizza got, it was difficult to bite through. Here I would suggest sending quality assurance over from time to time.

A very beautiful place, great atmosphere and excellent service staff. We received a service that could not be obtained in any establishment, the chef himself came out and helped us choose dishes.

Unfortunately completely overpriced. The prices are not appropriate for the self-service concept and the quantity and taste of the food. We had a pepperoni pizza and a lasagna and very disappointed. The atmosphere was generally quite pleasant, but the floor and tables were very dirty. The employees only had a shaky command of the German language, which made communication difficult.

Play area for the kids with draft beer, what more can you ask for? If you’re stopping by the mall with toddlers, stop by here and let them play with the hand me downs. Also plenty of room.

I ordered pasta and had to throw up all night long. I've never felt so sick after eating something like I did that day

Although there wasn't much going on, our starters were forgotten and they weren't ready until after the main course. You can safely give yourself the lasagne al forno; Apart from a lot of béchamel sauce and cheese there isn't much. The meat portion is homeopathic. The tomato cream soup is not fresh, but made with pureed canned tomatoes and is not really good.

Eating pizza Burati now, and I rushed to rate out of disappointment. It is overpriced and tasteless!

The gluten free pinsas (pizza) are ok. Although they claim to have gluten free pasta, the only selection is really just zucchini noodles. But I'm grateful that they even care about gluten allergies - which is more than most restaurants in Germany do.

My first time eating here at Vapiano, the staff are very nice, food was actually good. My to go lunch place from now on whenever I'm at the mall.

Friendly staff. Nice area. Culinary herbs are on the table. My favorite part of this restaurant is that you can choose separately the pasta. Of course an offer is already given: for example Carbonara with Spagetti. I highly recommend you to visit this restaurant, if you want to eat some good pasta, salate or pizza!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Vapiano in Kaiserslautern and I have to say I was impressed! The ambience was inviting and modern, and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The selection of dishes was varied and freshly prepared. I particularly liked the fact that you could have the dishes freshly prepared on site. The quality of the ingredients was excellent and the flavor combinations were delicious. All in all, I had a fantastic experience at Vapiano Kaiserslautern and would recommend it to anyone looking for an enjoyable and tasty meal. Many thanks to the Vapiano team!

Mice! Unfortunately, mice were running around under our table and chairs during our stay at Vapiano Kaiserslautern. I find this intolerable and it was no longer possible to eat with a clear conscience. We won't come back!

Causal Italian restaurant for the whole family, chill spot with your shopping friends or come a grab a meal by yourself - either way their staff is friendly and helpful, food is made fresh to order and the prices are reasonable. We also found that most of the staff speak English. Great people watching place too!

The food was very tasty. But I had to queue at three stadiums (pasta, salad and wine) and it could definitely be better.

You can make a great system with the card. But when it comes to pasta, I prefer a real Italian restaurant. There's just mass here. Prices relatively high for the quality. The furnishings are nicely kept.

Terrible! And I'm really a gifted Vapiano goer, I even went to the Vapiano in NYC. The food here is a super disaster! I had a salad “Mista” with chicken. Here I wasn't even asked whether the meat should be fried with garlic and chilli, nor was I asked whether everything should be added to the salad. The 3 men behind the counter spoke Arabic and stared at me. My cucumbers in the salad were already sour! Unbelievable and even when I said I only wanted a little balsamic dressing, the dressing, 2 ladles, was slapped on me. The tomato soup that I then ordered was brought from the back office and added water. I have never had a meal like this in any Vapiano in the last 20 years. I left my food there. In any case, I'll never go here to Kaiserslautern again.

I liked the ambience, a better Vapiano. I wouldn't drive here specifically for food, but if you're nearby and want to satisfy your hunger, you're actually in good hands here. It's cool that there are finally zoodles here, they were a bit watery but tasted good.

Food was good. But to whoever hasn’t been there before, it could be confusing how the service works. It would be nice if the host asks the customers first if they know how the dynamic works.

Experience was so so. Honestly, it's better to go to a local real (!) Italian restaurant instead.

A pretty decent Italian place to eat. The cooks and servers all spoke Italian so thats good right? The way its set up is you choose from three different stations based on what you want. Food portions were decent and it was delicious after all. Well worth a shot.

Unser Essen war prima. Die Zubereitung ging relativ zügig. Die Nudeln al dente, die Mitarbeiter freundlich. Die Preise waren noch okay. Nicht so schön waren die Tische und Bänke/Stühle ,es lag noch was vom letzten Besucher drauf und der Tisch war verschmiert. Leider sah der Nebentisch auch so aus.

Abzockerladen! Mir wurden 2 Essen berechnet obwohl ich nur eines gegessen habe. Bei der Reklamation an der Kasse wurde ich nicht ernst genommen und ich musste alles bezahlen.

By far my favorite Italian restaurant in the K-Town area. Vapianos is an absolute must visit if you’re in the area. I’d recommend the Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara!!

Das Essen kann ich nicht beurteilen, da ich dieses Mal nichts gegessen habe und das letzte Mal schon länger her ist. Das Personal war freundlich. Ambiente hätte noch Luft nach oben. Ich finde es teilweise etwas ungemütlich.

Eine vegane Pinza, die dann doch vegetarisch war, wurde anstandslos in eine vegane umgewandelt und die "verkehrte" blieb auch am Tisch und wurde nicht einfach weg geschmissen 👍🏻

Vapiano has a cozy vibe and quite a few seating options. The food is also very good!

I love the concept of having your dinner made in front of you. They have a good selection of pasta, pizza, gnocchi and salads.

Average chain restaurant food. Fun atmosphere. Food is fine- not outstanding.

Delicious! Had the pasta carbonara with bacon and chicken. Vibrant, amazing flavor. The bread is also very good, even with nothing on it. Thanks to the chef for a great meal and for the recommendation! Hope to be back.

Vapiano is overall a good restaurant, with live cooking stations, pleasant ambiance, and wide seating arrangements. Pastas are a highlight as whatever you choose (linguini, fussili, penne, etc) it is homemade! Whether an office gathering or hanging out with friends it is an ideal and reasonable place. It's totally recommended!

Also wirklich nicht zu empfehlen. Schmutzig am Tisch, alter Basilikum mit trocknen schwarzen Blätter. Nudeln trocken, nicht gewürzt, Salz und Pfeffer steht ja genug bereits gestreut in der Schale - nicht appetitlich!! Sorry, bin bedient.

Nice dimmed atmosphere and food was good, but don‘t expect authentic Italian food. Fast-food vibes. Self service, staffs were cold and not so welcoming. To order, the cooks were more busy chatting with one another than attending custumers(Only one of the cooks were attentive), also uncomfortable chairs. Overall an okay experience, but not the most enjoyable.
