Vapiano in Hamburg

Worst place ever. The staff had zero control and the kitchen was a complete mess. This place should be avoided.

If fiasco had a middle name, then it would be vapiano. Nothing more to add

I like the new concept. As a single person, the ordering terminals and pickup eliminate some points of contact for me. And so you are no longer exposed to the unpleasant mood of the 'cooks' (mood is also understandable in assembly line work)

Gluten free pinsa! The idea is very good, the implementation is bad for celiacs! All pinsas are baked in the same oven, so contamination can occur. It's a shame, but the gluten-free pinsas are not suitable for celiacs! 😌

It was our first time at Vapiano in two years and we were really shocked. The prices - with no service at all, and the food was really a joke. €3 extra for Zoodels, which is the only gluten-free alternative, tiny portions and the sauce is as runny as water. We won't be seen there again and we'll probably advise everyone not to eat there.

We were with a group of five. The app that made you order by means of a QR-code didn’t work properly. The orders also went wrong and when we tried to get it corrected the service was below what is to be expected. The pinsas were kind of OK, but the pastas were way worse than what you expect for that price. Not again!

Waste of money. I ordered Alfredo pasta with chicken, mushrooms and extra tomatoes (+1.80€). I got 2 pieces of chicken, 1,5 cherry tomatoes and 5 mushrooms, otherwise just pasta soaked in creme. On top of that, the chef yells at everyone.

Portion size for a hollow tooth...

I can't recommend it any more. The Pinsa with its thick dough is visually and tastefully miles away from what Vapiano offered 10-15 years ago and reminds me more of a ready-made pizza. The price, on the other hand, has remained princely.

The quality of food has deteriorated over the years. The pasta was very dry. Chicken alfredo used to be so good. Not anymore.

The place and service are good but the food is really poor. The prices are so high and the food is not really tasty 🥲. I used to like Vapiano in other cities but this one is pretty bad. You can go to a real italian restaurant and pay almost the same prices.

Unfortunately a complete disaster! It used to be so great. You could watch them prepare the food. Order from them yourself... say what you want in it and what you don't. Now you have to order everything yourself on your cell phone or on a tablet that is there at the entrance. Takes at least twice as long as before. But of course you can't order any extras there either. Just a few things but double onions or something like that isn't possible. Then the music is really bad. Loud all the time that you have to scream to have a conversation. The food is ok to good. Neither more nor less.

I was there for the first time based on a recommendation. I ordered at the self-reflection checkout and sat down while the boss was extremely unfriendly to other guests. I then noticed that the food was to be taken away and then wanted to ask the boss if I could change it to eat here (before preparation). In response, I was accused of not being able to read and being too stupid to order. Several people had the same problem at the same time and the service is just bad, slow and extremely unfriendly. And all the best, the overpriced food also tasted cold, not thorough and too spicy. Can't really recommend this to anyone!!!!

Everything was very nice and also the service was nice but I put today four stars because for this kind of place I was expecting to be served in a expensive restaurant in the center of one of the most expensive cities in Europe

Food was little to no seasoning Tables glued chairs cozy view was the Gänsemarkt. There is hardly any service in the sense that you order via an app, get the food when you pay and you see someone. Oh yes and the drink is served without a word. All in all, I know better Vapianos.

Not as good as it used to be. You can get used to the new concept with online ordering at the table. It's a shame that show cooking is no longer available and you still have to get the food yourself, but drinks are brought. Then you could have brought the food straight away. The reason why I won't come back is the quality of the dishes. It has decreased significantly. It all tastes somehow like ready-made sauce and onions. The noodles are tough and tasteless. We tried three dishes together and were all disappointed. My favorite “Gamberetti e Spinaci” tasted completely bland. I could cook this better myself. Very unfortunate.

Nice Vapiano! Clean, chic & delicious, just like almost every Vapiano!

It was absolute chaos, we ordered on our cell phones at the table and sat on the ground floor. Nothing happened for an eternity. There was no drink service, so we went to the bar ourselves, complained about it and took our own drinks with us. We waited even longer for the food and were able to look at the chaos at the serving station for a long time. The cutlery was always out, the orders were only half finished, the guests were just arguing and you had to ask for bread and parmesan yourself, etc. When our food was finally ready, it was okay, the pasta was very al dente, luckily we had already gotten the cutlery beforehand, because this was out again and we had to ask for bread and parmesan ourselves. We didn't complain due to the enormous waiting times. During the payment process, you preferred not to ask whether everything was OK because you would (hopefully) already know the answer.

I used to enjoy coming here, even though it was loud and the lines were too long. But now with ordering terminals like McDo’s? Alternatively: using the mobile phone app you need 5 minutes to click through your order. And in the end the payment doesn't work for some unknown reason. Of course you can still pick it up in line. By the time it was my turn, the noodles were just a lump. After all, it was practically empty at 1 p.m. on weekdays (usually peak time). Apparently I'm not alone in my dissatisfaction. Unfortunately for me that was the end of it. Destroyed by anti-customer top management decisions.

The food was good by vapiano standards, the service was quick - if impersonal. The toilets clean. Simple decoration.

Not recommended. Pizza very dry and cold quickly. A preheated plate would help here. Noodles a total disaster. These arrived at the table already cold. According to service, they were only warmed up once. Instead of an apology, there was only eye rolling. Taste of pizza and pasta could also be improved. Portion size was ok. But for the price you should expect a little more.

Spaghetti Carbonara was cooked completely mushy, I was able to stick my fork into the middle of the portion and lift the whole sticky mass in one piece.

After a trip through Hamburg we visited the Vapiano! Conclusion: Quality and quantity are absolutely not in harmony here. The dishes we ate were all tasteless and the service was simply subpar. Too bad...definitely not a recommendation!!

Worst food I've ever eaten in a restaurant. We had a pinsa and pasta with pesto. The Pinsa was cold and tasted like the ready-made pizzas from the baking machines at discount stores. A complete disaster. The spaghetti was also cold. They tasted like they had been cooked ages ago and then not warmed up properly. Never again Vapiano! Wasted money! In the end we left the food and preferred to eat somewhere else. A pure waste of food. 40€ thrown out.

A really nicely located and decorated place with delicious food. I love the view out of the second floor on the Ganzemarkt and Turf and Turf pasta.

Unfreundlich! Wir waren zu 3. da und haben auch alle zusammen am bestellterminal bestellt. Konnten auch recht schnell unser Essen schon abholen, bis hier alles super. Doch dann fand ich auf meiner VEGANEN Pasta FLEISCH! (Wir hatten alle 3 Gerichte ohne Fleisch, weiß Gott wo das her kam) Damit ging ich dann zurück zur Küche und bekam nichtmal eine Entschuldigung, sondern wurde lediglich gefragt ob es sonst ok ist also ob die Nudeln, die Soße und die Extras richtig sind…. Als ich dann mein richtiges Essen bekommen hatte und nochmal nachfragte ob es denn nun wirklich vegan ist kam nur ein patziges Ja… als hätte ich die schuld daran. Kommen aufgrund der Sache nicht wieder! Eine aufrichtige Entschuldigung nach so einem gigantischen Fehler, der einfach nicht passieren darf, wäre das mindeste gewesen! Ich bereue nur die 5€ Trinkgeld die wir leider im Vorfeld gegeben haben…

Gluten-free pinsa dough/scarf was good, only the topping was put on cold, so that the ham and mushrooms were cold. After complaining, they said I would get a new one, but that wasn't the case, it was just warmed up again.

The noodles were lukewarm. There were still dirty dishes on many of the tables upstairs. So the window seats were unused. Nothing was cleared away while we were there.

Gone are the days when you could sit in a leather sofa at Vapiano, gone are the days when there were several coffee counters, gone are the days of pizza... Now there are machines for ordering and a food outlet. The pizza is now called Pinsa and is on the same culinary level as a pizza from the supermarket that is too dry. It's a shame, it used to be good for you. The fact that you can no longer pay in cash completes the impression; Customers are annoying.

The dish (Penne Carbonara) was freshly prepared. Some of the pasta was dried out. Order terminals like those at McDonalds and Burger King. And in this context, it was also quite bold with the tipping option during the payment process.

Basically ok, we created an order group using the QR code and sent it off when everyone added their order. When we picked it up, a dish was missing and the gentleman behind the counter snapped at me that we must have added an order afterwards. Even after pointing out several times that I had made an order for everyone, he barked at me that I probably couldn't get the order done. When the missing food came, it was so spicy that you could hardly eat it. I estimate 2-3x as much chili as normal.

I have no idea why this place is so hyped... We ordered via the app at the same time, but one meal was ready twenty (!!!) minutes later. One drink was brought to the table, we had to request the other several times. The food was quite okay, but was more of a ready meal level. This has nothing to do with eating out! I'm probably too old and probably no longer belong to the target group...

It's just become a bit of a fast food chain for Italian dishes... there's no classic pizza here at the Vapiano on the Gänsemarkt anymore... it's now called pinsa if I remember correctly and it's more of a rectangular shape... I didn't like mine that much Tasted... but there's no arguing about the taste. Who else would have it? It tasted great... there was a hair in the penne... that's not possible. All in all, I found the price for 2 dishes and drinks to be much too expensive at almost 50 euros compared to the portion size and quality... since there is no service.

I find it very sad that you have to order at a counter like at McDonald's and no longer see the goods as it was back then when you could have everything added one by one, sad that the human service is dwindling more and more

Unfortunately it takes about 40 minutes for lunch until you order and eat is ready on the table. Unfortunately, lunch is not possible during the lunch break.

The food is terrible, the pasta and broccoli are too hard, hardly any taste and we both got severe stomach pains... There was no thought of eating it. The chef was completely overwhelmed and unfriendly. The ingredients we ordered were missing and the mini water was very expensive. Shameless store, save yourself that and the pain too. There are much better places to eat nearby. At least the bartender was friendly. And how can it be that there is no clear label for vegetarian on your menu. And no gluten-free pasta.

Expensive for what it is. Underground app that is used to order - confusing, lengthy, everything costs extra. I don't want to give my phone number to order pasta! Staff completely stressed because understaffed.

I had already been to Tallinn and I promised myself I would return in another city. It confirms itself as an excellent place to eat Italian abroad, with successful dishes and below average prices. Open kitchen and pleasant place.

Been here for the second time. I just don't like the food The first time I tried it I found the food bland and boring... I thought it was my choice. Hence the “second chance”. So the lasagna wasn't any better and ultimately didn't convince me. The employees (especially the lady with the drinks / Saturday 04.01.25 around 11 a.m.) were not very customer friendly.

Has nothing to do with Vapiano since the takeover. Bland pasta, tasteless ingredients and a complicated, staff-reducing ordering system. Massively overpriced. I definitely won't give it a second chance because the food was simply bad. This has nothing to do with tasty, well-prepared Italian cuisine. Even a simple pasta at home with the cheapest pesto would have tasted more convincing.

I miss the old concept of Vapiano! What's better than watching your food being prepared? I loved going to Vapiano and was a regular. However, I am unsure whether I will come again after the renovation and change of concept. The Pasta Alfredo was unrecognizable and the waiting time was over 1 (!) hour... I miss the original Vapiano!

The noodles are fantastic. I find that ordering at the terminal like at Mc D. and picking up food yourself at the counter takes some getting used to. Therefore points deducted for service. Relatively high in price.

Noodles were far too hard and with the sauce the whole thing felt more like a mush than a meal. The price was also more than outrageous. For a simple portion 14 euros, for extra cherry tomatoes (2 pieces) almost 2 euros extra. For a few pieces of extra beef (which was tough and unappetizing) another 4.50 extra.. Not to mention the overpriced drinks! All in all, an absolutely miserable price-performance ratio. My first visit will also be my last! For 55 euros (for 2 people) I can eat much better and, above all, tastier food.

The food at Vapiano was, as always, very good, but unfortunately this time there were some significant deficiencies in service and cleanliness. The staff seemed visibly overwhelmed by the large number of guests, which unfortunately had a negative impact on the overall experience. Although according to the ordering process the drinks should be brought to the table, this was not the case for us. In addition, our table was neither cleared nor cleaned, which made the stay less pleasant. However, the condition of the toilets was particularly disappointing. These were in a very unhygienic condition, and one of the sinks was not only broken but also very dirty. Such conditions are absolutely unacceptable in a restaurant of this category and leave a negative impression. It's a shame because the food was impressive as usual, but the rest couldn't keep up.

Wrong order received after 40 minutes of waiting.

We liked the food and the price was ok, the waiting time was around 30 minutes. but too long for a system catering service. There were simply not enough service and kitchen staff, you can only feel sorry for the employees. Given the understaffing, it is understandable that the staff cannot keep up with clearing the tables. Management is making false savings.

Pasta was so-so, price was more expensive due to the location. The tables were stacked full of dirty dishes, after 30 minutes someone came to clear them! Nope - never again!

I can recommend gluten-free Pinsa. The service was rather unremarkable. It was pretty empty when I was there. The ambience is ok. However, I find George drink prices to be quite high, which is why I deducted a star.

En primer lugar, como persona que viaja a Hamburgo , Alemania para unas buenas vacaciones con mi familia para el año nuevo me quedé horrorizado por la calidad de este restaurante . Fui recibido por el personal que me dijo que eligiera una mesa yo mismo, lo que pude ver confundido a muchas otras personas y dejó mesas desiguales. En segundo lugar, pedí pizzas que esperaba que fueran una pizza redonda de tamaño normal y por el precio de 16 € no estaba satisfecho con el tamaño de mi pizza. Era una pizza cuadrada que no era nada grande para el precio que pagas. No solo fue solo por el tamaño sino por el tiempo que esperé me decepcionó hasta la médula. Había esperado más de una hora a que llegara la pizza. Y puede que pienses que eso es todo, sin embargo, la calidad de la pizza me decepcionó mucho. Pedí una pizza de barbacoa de pollo que no sabía a barbacoa, sino a pizza vegetariana que muchos de los miembros de mi familia no estaban satisfechos con. La margarita que mi primo de 5 años estaba mirando hacia adelante también era extremadamente mantequilla y simplemente lleno de asco. Tuvimos que tomar el queso porque sabía tan grasoso y artificial. Cuando la pizza finalmente llegó después de un montón de espera nos encontramos con la pizza que ni siquiera se cortaba nos habían dado un par de tijeras demasiado cortadas nuestra pizza nosotros mismos, que tomó siglos para cortar porque eran directamente unas malas tijeras. En general , no vendría al restaurante solo estaba satisfecho con la Coca Cola , sin embargo el tamaño de la coca no era tan bueno para 5 € ! ! ¡NO VENGAN A ESTE RESTAURANTE!

Ambiance and atmosphere is great. All (3) of us decided on the Pinsa and ate two pieces each and tested our way through all the varieties. The topping tastes quite good, the rest is just dry and you don't know whether you're eating into what's on the board that's served to you or into the pinsa. Too small for the price in my opinion! I eat pinsa regularly and pizza is absolutely the worst for me this year! I'm never coming back! Same opinion from my kompaneros. Service is unfriendly and the chefs put olives on the pinsa even though it was ordered without. We also had to wait a relatively long time for this outrageously inedible meal. It's a shame it was a really great store before it went bankrupt!

It completely changed the system and now it has become a McDonald's where you must order through an app or through the entrance screens. The service became totally impersonal. They deliver drinks to you with dessert. While you must wait to receive the pasta. The food is of low quality (it has nothing Italian) and the price is very high.

I visited Vapiano again after a long time and was pleasantly surprised by the new ordering concept. You can now easily order at the machines and pay directly. Then you get a pager that vibrates when the food is ready. You then pick up the food at the counter - much more relaxed than before! In the past, you had to queue at two different stations for pizza and pasta and often wait a long time. Unfortunately, my risotto wasn't convincing - it had a below-average taste. The drink prices are also quite high: a 0.2l Schweppes White Peach costs €4.50 plus deposit. Overall I would say the visit was okay - neither particularly good nor particularly bad. The new concept is definitely a plus, but the food and prices still leave room for improvement.

Become unbelievably bad and impersonal... So bad! What just happened? Such a shame for a once great restaurant.

Waiting time longer than studying law

I stayed at Vapiano with my family of four. When you enter the restaurant, you immediately notice the ordering terminals like McDonald's. That was out of the question for my family of four. I had to gather our orders in front of these terminals with other people breathing down our necks. That's why I hoped to be able to place the order directly at the table. This was also possible with a QR code that you scanned at the table. With four people, this process is extremely annoying and time-consuming because everyone has to order one after the other using one phone. After 15 minutes we placed the order and hoped to receive it soon. That wasn't the case. After a short while on my phone I was no longer able to determine whether I had placed the order. So after waiting 10 minutes, I had to check with the kitchen again to make sure the order had been placed. They were able to confirm my order. After about 15 minutes the drinks arrived. After about another 30 minutes the food (four meals + 4 drinks for €80.75) you had to pick it up after you got a text message. We ordered two pizzas, which were now cold. The noodles were warm and tasted okay. At that point, my family was already very frustrated about the long wait. After we were finished, I wanted to pay for the food. When I paid I had to shell out €168! . I was just able to avert this and laboriously sorted out my food with the waiter and then ended up paying the amount that I actually had to pay for my meal. All in all a disaster and my family was in a bad mood after this visit. I definitely won't do that to myself again!

We always visit vapiano hamburg gänsemarkt when we are in town. It's a big hit with the whole family. Their pasta dish is all a hit.

We were disappointed with the food, the pasta was soft and mushy and the salad was delicious, but there was no bread with it. The toilets were not cleaned.

The food was okay, but... two of us had ordered pumpkin soup via the cell phone portal, and after about 20 minutes the message came that it was ready for pickup. However, when we stood at the counter and wanted to pick it up, we were suddenly told that pumpkin soup was out and whether we would also take tomato soup. In principle no problem, but waiting 20 minutes and then not getting what I ordered? At such expensive prices I somehow don't think it's okay. It's not the employees' fault, they were nice, but the system is no good. And then at the end when you pay there is also a default tip, which you have to actively deselect, even though there was actually no service at all. I find it somehow difficult. Nevertheless, the food is quite good, but not more than that.

First a meal, then nothing at all for a long time, when asked for the drinks....wait for a long time... then after 30 minutes when asked for the other dishes. The portions used to be definitely bigger. I had a little tomato soup. The word small/piccola seems to take on a new downward dimension here. I'm disappointed. I used to be a regular and only go here in an emergency. Really a shame. Honestly. I'm negatively affected. Even when I asked whether this quantity was planned, I was only just fobbed off. As if there were no good alternatives to the Vapiano.

Old system was significantly better. The food was of better quality and it was also much quicker. Today I'm also complaining about a white gentleman (mid-50s, gray hair) who stands at the food counter and reprimands his employees at a high volume. This behavior trumps my last experiences at the Gänsemarkt location. I hope that consequences will be considered with this gentleman. Addition: I learned that this man is the “boss” in this Vapiano is - a deeply bitter realization. It is precisely because of him that I will avoid this Vapiano.

Absolutely every time the food arrives different than what was ordered. Some of the staff hardly speak German. The tables next to our table were cleared after about 20 minutes. Really bad!

The salad was very good. The pasta dish was not recommended, too greasy, pasta didn't seem fresh and not al dente.

We were there on Friday November 22nd and actually wanted to eat there. We chose a very nice table that was absolutely empty. The lady at the reception didn't think it was a good idea and simply refused to let us do it. It was a strange atmosphere because we weren't offered any alternatives or anything like that. So we had to deal with the digital ordering machine, which we don't like very much. But we were able to order some and had fun eating it in our hotel room.

We WERE regular guests, but unfortunately not anymore! Only card payment possible, bad! The pasta now costs 18€ with mushrooms, previously 14€, picked up from the kitchen, totally dry, without sauce, brought back and now the HAMMER from the chef, yes we have reduced, you have to buy extra sauce, I then say, wait a minute times, 4€ more expensive and no more sauce? So it's done...!

I was able to lessen my hatred for the underlying concept somewhat. Nice new branch. Drinks are now even delivered to your place (even if our order was a bit mixed up), everything is pleasantly digitalized and you no longer have to stand around for hours with your tray like in communism. Maybe Vapiano and I will become friends.

I ordered extra vegan and then received it with mozzarella.. when I got my food the second time it was again specifically said so here pomodoro with extra mozzarella.. I don't understand what else you should pay a tip for? Two stars because the bread still tastes delicious.
