I stayed at Vapiano with my family of four. When you enter the restaurant, you immediately notice the ordering terminals like McDonald's. That was out of the question for my family of four. I had to gather our orders in front of these terminals with other people breathing down our necks. That's why I hoped to be able to place the order directly at the table. This was also possible with a QR code that you scanned at the table. With four people, this process is extremely annoying and time-consuming because everyone has to order one after the other using one phone. After 15 minutes we placed the order and hoped to receive it soon. That wasn't the case. After a short while on my phone I was no longer able to determine whether I had placed the order. So after waiting 10 minutes, I had to check with the kitchen again to make sure the order had been placed. They were able to confirm my order. After about 15 minutes the drinks arrived. After about another 30 minutes the food (four meals + 4 drinks for €80.75) you had to pick it up after you got a text message. We ordered two pizzas, which were now cold. The noodles were warm and tasted okay. At that point, my family was already very frustrated about the long wait. After we were finished, I wanted to pay for the food. When I paid I had to shell out €168! . I was just able to avert this and laboriously sorted out my food with the waiter and then ended up paying the amount that I actually had to pay for my meal. All in all a disaster and my family was in a bad mood after this visit. I definitely won't do that to myself again!

Caustic ordering process, maximally impersonal at McDonald's level. It takes a long time and is just annoying. What's that supposed to mean? UI and speed of devices also poor. Food good.

Good food, very tasty, service is okay

We always visit vapiano hamburg gänsemarkt when we are in town. It's a big hit with the whole family. Their pasta dish is all a hit.

We were disappointed with the food, the pasta was soft and mushy and the salad was tasty, but there was no bread with it. The toilets were not cleaned.

The food was okay, but... two of us had ordered pumpkin soup via the cell phone portal, and after about 20 minutes the message came that it was ready for pickup. However, when we stood at the counter and wanted to pick it up, we were suddenly told that pumpkin soup was out and whether we would also take tomato soup. In principle no problem, but waiting 20 minutes and then not getting what I ordered? At such expensive prices I somehow don't think it's okay. It's not the employees' fault, they were nice, but the system is no good. And then at the end when you pay there is also a default tip, which you have to actively deselect, even though there was actually no service at all. I find it somehow difficult. Nevertheless, the food is quite good, but not more than that.

Good Italian food. I liked the pasta with Alfredo sauce.

If only you had read the reviews beforehand. Nothing works. Ordered at the table, money was deducted and then we waited……. First a meal, then nothing at all for a long time, when asked for the drinks....wait for a long time... then after 30 minutes when asked for the other dishes. Big apologies, drinks will of course be credited. Unfortunately, you don't know anything about it at the checkout. Good luck…

The portions used to be definitely bigger. I had a little tomato soup. The word small/piccola seems to take on a new downward dimension here. I'm disappointed. I used to be a regular and only go here in an emergency. Really a shame. Honestly. I'm negatively affected. Even when I asked whether this quantity was planned, I was only just fobbed off. As if there were no good alternatives to the Vapiano.

Old system was significantly better. The food was of better quality and it was also much quicker. Today I'm also complaining about a white gentleman (mid-50s, gray hair) who stands at the food counter and reprimands his employees at a high volume. This behavior trumps my last experiences at the Gänsemarkt location. I hope that consequences will be considered with this gentleman. Addition: I learned that this man is the “boss” in this Vapiano is - a deeply bitter realization. It is precisely because of him that I will avoid this Vapiano.

Order system doesn’t work properly, unfriendly staff, dirty tables and toilets, food was missing some ordered ingredients. This was my last time. It’s a bummer really, used to like this place a lot.

Absolutely every time the food arrives different than what was ordered. Some of the staff hardly speak German. The tables next to our table were cleared after about 20 minutes. Really bad!

The taste was okay, 5 out of 5 meals were cold, but in Hamburg you can definitely have a much better Italian meal... the ordering system doesn't work in most cases, the food doesn't come together, you don't get any notification and the shop seems to be closed Extremely overwhelmed. It also takes ages and the service is extremely poor. Overall you feel a bit ripped off, especially for the price!

Annoying place! The system is good, but it doesn't work as well! Everything takes forever and ordering is not really easy. If you want to eat something relaxed, you shouldn't come here. Eating together is also unlikely. Everyone gets something at different times. In addition, some of it was brought cold.

The Pinza (square pizza) was extremely dry, like it was from the day before yesterday, without any taste, you can only taste tomato paste. Worst pizza we've eaten so far. Not recommended!

Yeah. You can rarely go wrong with it. It's a standard pasta experience, in a great location on the gänsemarkt. It feels like I've been bankrupt 5 times but I'm still surviving. Every hamburger has been there before

We were there on Friday November 22nd and actually wanted to eat there. We chose a very nice table that was absolutely empty. The lady at the reception didn't think it was a good idea and simply refused to let us do it. It was a strange atmosphere because we weren't offered any alternatives or anything like that. So we had to deal with the digital ordering machine, which we don't like very much. But we were able to order some and had fun eating it in our hotel room.

The salad was very good. The pasta dish was not recommended, too greasy, pasta didn't seem fresh and not al dente.

We WERE regular guests, but unfortunately not anymore! Only card payment possible, bad! The pasta now costs 18€ with mushrooms, previously 14€, picked up from the kitchen, totally dry, without sauce, brought back and now the HAMMER from the chef, yes we have reduced, you have to buy extra sauce, I then say, wait a minute times, 4€ more expensive and no more sauce? So it's done...!

I was able to lessen my hatred for the underlying concept somewhat. Nice new branch. Drinks are now even delivered to your place (even if our order was a bit mixed up), everything is pleasantly digitalized and you no longer have to stand around for hours with your tray like in communism. Maybe Vapiano and I will become friends.

Unfortunately no longer recognizable. Noodles were still very hard. I ordered extra vegan and then received it with mozzarella.. when I got my food the second time it was again specifically said so here pomodoro with extra mozzarella.. I don't understand what else you should pay a tip for? Two stars because the bread still tastes delicious.

The machines didn't work. And the paper order the bar staff took never made it to the kitchen. 40 minutes later still no food. Ridiculous

Als ich ca vor einem Jahr zu letzt hier war, gab es das elektronische Bestellsystem wie bei MCD noch nicht. Ich finde es unpersönlich und es dauert doch einige Zeit bis ich alles zusammen bestellt hatte. Es hat ewig gedauert bis mein „Teilchen“ vibriert hat. Es war überhaupt nichts los hier um 17:45 Uhr. Ich wollte schon hingehen und fragen ob die mich vergessen haben. Die Portion war recht üppig unscharf geschmacklich in Ordnung. Die Einzelzutaten habe ich ja auch selbst konfiguriert. Ich finde eine Speisekarte und Kellner viel persönlicher, aber hier muss vor allem an Personal gespart werden. In der Küche wuselten 4 Köche umher, aber was zu tun hatten die nicht viel zu tun. Eine Abräum Keaft sammelte die leeren Teller ein. Auch per QR Code auf dem Tisch kann bestellt werden! wie das dann mit bezahlen geht? Weiß ich nicht. Ob ich nochmal wieder komme? Ich bin mir unsicher. Das hier an Personal gespart wird, schlägt sich nicht in niedrigen Preisen nieder. Die sind schon City selbstbewusst. Wenn jemand keinen großen Anspruch an ein Restaurant hat, ist hier möglicherweise richtig.

We ordered 2 types of cake, one of them was tiramisu, we ate until the end when we noticed there was a long hair. The staff didn't treat us nice, they didn't even apologize!!!!! and didn't recommend this place to us.

Very very tasty, recommend the Pinsa Salamie ;)

This was one of the worst carbonaras I have ever tasted. It was dry and salty, without enough sauce and the portion constisted of just dough. I asked them to make me another one which they did but the next carbonara was barely any better. For this price you should get much better food. Would avoid next time visiting.

Personal initiative is required here. Order via app or on the screen in the restaurant. Drinks are served and you pick up your own food. Great: Gluten-free versions are available for an additional charge.

Unfortunately it's no longer what it once was. With the change in the concept, the quality of the employees and the food has probably also disappeared. You can eat the pinsa, but it wasn't anything special. We had two pasta dishes, the spaghetti was completely overcooked and you had to look for the cherry tomatoes in the linguini. All in all, no longer recommended.

The ambience and service is completely ok, but the food... I had this pizza waste and almost threw up. Cheapest tomato paste has taken over all the flavor.

You keep a good overall overview of the quantities ordered. + Drinks arrived very quickly - You pick up your own food Payment can be made directly after the ordering process or at the counter below. + Kids menu, good portion size, small drink included - Kids menu served wrong type of pasta as stated - Food lacks a “zing”, size is too small compared to the price - Tipping preset (in the online payment process) (for the fact that you almost! take on the entire service yourself..) + soft, fresh white bread (with the olive oil at the table and salt, a very good addition)

The spaghetti carbonara was inedible - overcooked noodles, dry sauce and onions. That was underground.

Food is great, the cooking staff could be more friendly but they are not rude. The atmosphere is more modern and cozy now

Unprofessional, unfriendly Can't keep up with other Vapiano's

For a quick italian bite in a modern mediterranen restaurant- this is perfect. The food is nice and portions can be adjusted. If you ask nicely you'll get some extra bread. The restaurant underwent some renovations and is now following a terminal-solution the way you find them in fast-food restaurants. While that is convenient it takes away from a personal experience in the restaurant.

At first I was shocked at how small the pinsas and noodle portions are. But we all got enough anyway. The food was delicious.

Top service, clean atmosphere. But €20 for a plate of pasta with a bit of beef is pretty steep.

Ordering via QR code and tablet possible. The connection was interrupted, so an order was not transmitted. 2. Order completed nationally, but no cell phone number stored to be notified when food is ready. At some point I'll be there to pick it up, the food ordered from the staff has been there ready for a while. The order that was submitted without any problem was not prepared. Too bad we couldn't eat together. The staff didn't think right and checked the table before preparing the new pida. Overall, the service staff tried hard, the kitchen staff not so much.

Spaghetti carbonara was drained in oil. Did not taste good at all. The gnochi looked like soup. Payed for extra cheese, did not got it. Drinks took forever to come.

I've tried a lot of pasta in my life but never one as bad as this. And on top of that they treated us poorly. Think twice before eating here.

There are now self-order checkouts, but they work quite well. My food was delicious, the beer could be colder. Ambience very nice after the renovation

Unfreundliches Personal bei der Begrüßung am Terminal zur Bestellung. Meine Pizza war nicht durchgebacken, kalt und alles andere als lecker. Ich würde dieses Restaurant nicht wieder betreten.

The food was good especially for the price. The service seems to be very overwhelmed.

The bread looks very sad. Why are you so mean to bread? What has the bread done to you? No more sad bread, please.

Quite busy place, I have been there 3 times already and I am always unhappy with the service, maybe it's because they are in such a rush that things are forgotten and they are not very kind, one can have a feeling of ... for a self-service as well. The table ordering is an interesting concept since you won't receive anyhow anything to the table.

Vapiano was unique before when they cooked in front of you. The quality in the food has dropped significantly. Sorry but it's not the same as before, what a pity!

A new type of restaurant but very tasty and fresh dishes.

Food was cold after waiting 40 minutes. Huge mess in the kitchen. The people sitting next to us got the wrong food three times.

27 minutes waiting time even though no one was waiting in front of me. Since my lunch break was almost over, I had to take the food I ordered with me. Later there was a stomach ache. No recommendation

My husband and I have always enjoyed going there, but since the concept has changed, we are unfortunately disappointed. The food doesn't taste as tasty as it used to. You wait a long time, I used to love watching the food being prepared and being asked how many spices you wanted etc. Now you don't have a say in the decision. Vapiano used to be something special precisely because everything was prepared in front of you. I think it's a shame!

Zoodles and extra Zoodles. Also less and extra garlic at the same time. Very good.

Rarely have I had such a bad pizza! Finished goods that are completely overpriced. It's a shame, but we won't be coming back!

Unfortunately, it's no longer as we know it. Pasta is prepared in a closed kitchen and no longer (as usual) directly for each individual customer. Unfortunately, the quality has suffered greatly under new management. So you get a small selection of pasta and overall a dish that looks more like a system restaurant. A dish that was ordered with chicken was also served with scampi. In summary: It's enough to fill you up, but unfortunately it's overpriced for what you're hoping for. We won't be coming back.

The food was delicious. The place is very loud and it is difficult to understand each other. Communication when picking up food can also be improved.

Never again Vapiano I ordered pasta fungi for my children, of course without white wine and NOT spicy, to take away. When I get home, I notice that the red chili and black pepper are too hot for children and of course they are prepared with white wine. Doesn't work at all...

Vapiano has been renovated and has a new process. You order either at the terminal (like at McDonalds) or from the table using a QR code. Strangely enough, the meal still took longer and I used to find it nicer to watch the cooking. I had pesto Alfredo, but I had to look for the chicken, it was so little. Definitely not even 50g AND it was even more expensive. Well, dessert was sold out (Sunday lunchtime at 12.30 p.m.)

The new ordering system was visible and easy to use via the QR code on the tables. Small note: Payment is only possible by credit card or Google pay online. The pasta was tasty and the quantity was sufficient. Drinks were brought to the table, we had to get food. Conclusion: it's no longer like the Vapiano from before, but as long as the quality is right I'm satisfied.

All self-service. It takes a lot of time to understand everything (ordering process). Even more complicated with multiple people. I miss personal contact with the waiter. The food was good.

the food was absolutely inedible and carelessly prepared. The gnocchi was drowned in a too runny tomato sauce, which made the dish look unappetizing. The scampi with penne was overly oily and greasy, also "slapped" onto the plate without any care. Paying €60 for three dishes is absolutely not justified given the poor quality. I would have preferred to treat myself to a kebab, it would have at least tasted good. Very disappointing! And never against Vapiano

Seit 1 Jahr mal wieder hier gewesen, nicht zu empfehlen. Alles auf digitales Bestellsystem umgestellt, was NICHT funktioniert. Habe 45 min auf meine Vorspeise, die sehr klein war und mein Hauptgericht gewartet. Als ich nachfragte wo das Essen bleibt, wurde es gerade erst zubereitet. Das geht gar nicht. Es gibt jetzt Bestell- Terminals, ähnlich wie bei McDonald’s. Man bekommt dann einen Counter - doch die Köche wissen nicht für welche Nummer etwas zubereitet wird. So stehen Essen einfach rum … furchtbar!!! Trinkgeld kann am Anfang bei der Bestellung vergeben werden. Zum Glück habe ich es nicht gemacht. Keine Empfehlung mehr.

Nice place for a casual stay. Whether I want to spend time there alone or in good company... you can always find a suitable corner for your stay. I like the seating area with a view from the large window. Delicious food and drinks. The meals are partly made from finished products. E.g. the pasta dishes. But it's quick and tastes good. You can watch it being prepared. I also really like the payment principle. You get a card. Every drink and every meal is then booked on it. And at the exit you pay the total amount

Been here again for a year, not recommended. Everything switched to a digital ordering system, which does NOT work. I waited 45 minutes for my starter, which was very small, and my main course. When I asked where the food was, it had just been prepared. That doesn't work at all. There are now ordering terminals, similar to those at McDonald’s. You then get a counter - but the chefs don't know which number something is being prepared for. Food just sits there like that... terrible!!! Tips can be given at the beginning when ordering. Luckily I didn't do it. No more recommendation.

Actually zero points. This is the worst service I have ever had. We had to wait forever for food, so after more than an hour we got the money from the shift manager. He didn't even try to keep us as customers. Simply overwhelmed. NEVER this Vapiano again

This has nothing to do with Vapiano anymore. Food is ordered on a screen and you get a buzzer when the food can be picked up. You have the feeling you are in a McDonalds. Everything is very sterile and uncomfortable furnished at extremely exorbitant prices. We'd rather go to McD in the future. Before the new owner of Vapiano destroyed the concept like that, the old owners should have let the sinking ship sink.

Today I was able to enjoy basil pesto for the first time in a long time. The Vapiano is still my first stop on a shopping day. The purchasing experience has changed in that you now order via the display and wait at your seat until the timer vibrates and the food can be picked up. The pesto was excellent.

The food was outstanding! The service was attentive and friendly. There was a quiet and pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant with a pleasant volume. We'd love to come back!

The pasta is well known and good. Highly recommended! What I didn't like at all is that the food isn't ready at the same time. There was also a strong smell of sewage outside, which doesn't necessarily encourage your appetite or enjoyment of eating. Service? If there isn't one, it's exactly the same as at McDonalds: order from the self-service machine. Then collect the food from the counter yourself when the buzzer gives the signal. The service and ambience is better at any Italian restaurant around the corner. But you don't have fresh pasta everywhere, it's really good at Vapiano!

Unfortunately, since the renovation, the size of the Pinsa has shrunk quite a bit. Unfortunately, I wasn't full even after dessert. Before the renovation it was never like this. I wouldn't eat there again even though it's so delicious.

Tried Vapiano after a long time again, it was disappointing: service unfriendly, Pinsa very dry. And you can’t order anymore with the cook directly and can’t see it being prepared in front of you, that was back then at least something special. On the good side, prices are still okay.

I have been a customer with you for more than 15 years, but this new system in the way of ordering food is very complicated. The method of ordering food must be reconsidered and the chefs interface must also be restored as it was before, where the customer can watch his food while it is being cooked.

First of all, I apologize, but I have to be honest. The food was too bad. I ordered Aglio Olio, but it had no garlic and chilli taste. The noodles was also too hard. And my girlfriend ordered carbonara with salmon, but it wasn't salmon but beef and the taste was bad too. The table was dirty.🙂

Unfortunately, 4 out of 5 dishes were cold and the quality was absolutely not up to par... Everything was rather messy and there was little overview/friendliness from the staff. Not recommended for the prices... It was much better in other cities/branches.

Cozy environment. For a chain the food isn't bad. The price for a plate of pasta is €8.95, which I would say is cheap for being in the centre. A bottle of San Pellegrino is very expensive: €6.95

We were at the Gänsemarkt Essen during our last stay at the VAPIANO. As is now common practice, we ordered from many system restaurateurs using a touch screen monitor. There was an electronic buzzee for the waiting time. The food we ordered was prepared very quickly. I'll be honest...I've tasted and liked it better before. But everyone should decide for themselves...

Typical Vapiano taste. It tasted great. We ordered pasta carbonara once and pasta pesto basilico once. The whole thing for €28.25. But you shouldn't be hungry. The portion sizes correspond to an appetizer. Price performance is therefore rather poor. I find the request for a tip when paying at the counter to be an impertinence. There is no service in this store and you don't know what you will get.

The Vapiano is itself a solid choice when it comes to pasta or pinsa. The quality of the food is okay to good and tastes the same. Unfortunately, the prices are so high that you could go to a “real” Italian restaurant and pay less there. Unfortunately, this really spoils the overall impression. The concept is a bit confusing at times. Drinks are brought to your place, but you have to pick up the food yourself. Orders are placed via a self-service terminal or directly at the table using your own mobile phone. I would have liked clearer communication in many places. Nowhere did it say in advance that you can order at the table or what options there are for paying.
