Restaurant Casa Nostra in Hamburg

Casa Nostra offers good Italian food, with solid flavors and decent preparation. The restaurant is very loud; the noise level was consistently high, making longer conversations quite difficult. Overall, it's an okay restaurant for good Italian food, but the noise level is a drawback.

The food was really good and needs no further explanation. However, we found it rude and even a bit of a pressure tactic when the waiter stood by the daily specials menu and only took our order with a delay. He then left, quite offended, when his behavior had no effect. The payment process was similar. As soon as I entered the bill into the card reader, he immediately asked about a service charge. This outrageous demand rubbed me the wrong way. Besides, there's no service charge in Germany, as all costs are included in the bill. He still received his tip, after which he told me he loved me. Fortunately, Hamburg is large, and the selection of restaurants is correspondingly vast. We certainly won't be eating here again!

I was treated so arrogantly as a guest. A second drink with my meal was impossible. I begged for the bill three times... Horrible. Never again.

The service, atmosphere, and beer were good, but I was disappointed with the pasta carbonara. The pasta was undercooked and dry, the bacon portion very small, and the egg more like an omelette than a sauce. The presentation of the dish was poor. Overall, nothing reminded me of carbonara. There were also small flies around, which hurt the overall experience. On the other hand, my friend’s pasta with mushrooms and salmon was good, so food quality seems inconsistent. I wouldn’t return myself.

We were on vacation in Hamburg in mid-June and early July 2025. That's when we discovered Casa Nostra. We highly recommend this restaurant and its excellent cuisine. A particular highlight was the salmon fillet with pink peppercorn sauce. We visited Casa Nostra three times and enjoyed the excellent cuisine.

I was at this restaurant last month and was unfortunately disappointed. The staff was very unfriendly and the food was not tasty at all. I will never go back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The pizza is not prepared in the Italian style at all. 👎

Lunch was very tasty: spaghetti with chanterelles and scampi for about 12 euros.

We were there with a large group. Unfortunately, none of the waiters were particularly friendly to us; they were rather aloof and professional, bordering on unfriendly and stressed. They were very impatient while we were choosing our dishes. For example, I ordered truffle tagliolini and instead received a pasta dish with salmon. I would have said that, although we were all certain that I had ordered the truffle pasta. The waiter, however, made no attempt to replace the dish. The salmon pasta was ultimately delicious, though. Overall, the food wasn't outstanding. However, if all the restaurants on the street are full, you can definitely go and eat at Casa Nostra.

During our visit to Hamburg, we had lunch there. It was delicious and the service very friendly. We had a nice seat by the window.

I ordered a takeaway pizza. The waiter in a white shirt was rude. The waiter in a black shirt was friendly. The pizza was a 6/10.

Why doesn't the Finance Police do a proper check here? These people tip themselves with the excuse that they don't have change. Terrible service; I wasn't even considered, practically forgotten. The pizza wasn't even good, by the way. In any case, pocketing more money than stated on the receipt without the customer's consent is illegal!

I was there with my husband shortly before Christmas. It was packed and cramped. The food could have been a bit more generous. Everyone received a welcome from the kitchen. Only we, as we had ordered an appetizer, didn't. Balsamic vinegar was drizzled everywhere as decoration. The service seemed unfriendly and cheeky, asking if we really didn't want to leave a tip.

Very tasty and, above all, relatively affordable. The lunch menu is highly recommended, where you can choose a pizza from the menu and get a tomato soup beforehand for only €8. So, about €11 per person. It's well worth it, and as I said, the food was really great. The staff was also very attentive and friendly.

Everything tasted great. Pizza at lunch with soup for €8. And it tasted great, too 😜. The only slight drawback is the location right on the main road with passing cars and buses. But it's not necessarily a bad thing.

We were in Hamburg for a few days. We had four excellent meals there. The service was excellent, and everyone on the service team did their very best. The guest and their satisfaction are our top priority. If we're ever in Hamburg again, we'd be happy to return.

It was good, the service was attentive. The food was good.

Such shamelessness! The pizza at this restaurant was a disaster—a hole in the middle and a base only 0.2 mm thick, so it immediately collapsed. The pizza cost 10.90 euros, but when I tried to pay by card, the cashier said, 'You can only pay with a card for 13 euros.' When I said I could only pay by card, he simply snatched my card out of my hand and said, 'Yeah, then just do 13.' The behavior was rude and unprofessional. I will definitely not be coming back.

We've been here every year on vacation and have never been disappointed. The staff is always friendly and quick. The dishes all look delicious, and they always serve bread and real olives.

Waiters courteous but not intrusive. BEST WAITER (according to his own statements)! We had great fun in a great atmosphere, with very, very good food at moderate prices. Gladly again when we are in Hamburg.

If you only order pizza and a drink, you will feel like you are a second class guest. No olives, no card payment, no attention. Things looked different at the neighboring tables with more expensive orders.

EDIT: You might notice very few 1-star reviews. Don't think that's because no one left them. It's because people have to prove they dined here in order for them not to be removed under German law. It's pretty difficult to make a bad pizza, but somehow this place managed. We even got given the wrong pizza, which arrived luke warm and with barely any sauce on it. The waiter didn't come back for my drinks order after I asked for the menu to look. He then forced a tip when we paid. The whole experience was just like they couldn't be bothered. We even suspected the pizza was one they had leftover and served to us because they didn't care.

I ordered a fillet of pork with Gorgonzola sauce. The food was very nice and the Primitivo wine was also good. When ordering, I asked for some tap water. The answer I got was that they didn't recommend that because of the poor quality of drinking water in Hamburg. This is not true. The water quality in Hamburg is good. I didn't get any water. When I asked for the bill, they were very reluctant to let me pay by card. It wasn't until I persisted in paying by card that they fetched the card machine.

Terrible! You feel more like a nuisance than a guest. Portions are expensive and manageable. The service is subpar... definitely never again! You can't give a star for that. It's a shame that you can't put a minus in front of the stars...

I had dinner there with a friend a few days ago. The seating conditions are extremely cramped. One less row of tables would be ideal so that the staff and guests don't have to squeeze through. Basically, "all" guests apparently receive a greeting from the kitchen, except for the guests who have ordered an appetizer. The bruschetta consisted of two medium sized slices. The tomatoes were ice cold and I didn't taste any garlic. Last weekend I was in a Paulaner inn outside of Hamburg. The bruschetta definitely tasted better. For the main course I had Tortolloni Porcini. There were 6 or 7 dumplings. There could easily have been 1-2 more. The pasta could have floated in the water for a while. It felt like balsamic cream was slapped on ALL dishes - regardless of whether it fit or not. A friend once heard gossip about his pasta dish with saffron sauce and balsamic cream. The staff only brought the drinks and food to the table; not more. You can't speak of service there. Suddenly music that was a little too loud started. At first you couldn't understand what kind of music it was. When it got quieter, I first thought I was in an Arabic restaurant. When I go out to eat in an "Italian restaurant", I expect Italian music but not weird music like that. When my partner wanted to pay with a card (but without a tip), the staff actually asked him if he really didn't want to leave a tip. I found that pretty bold and cheeky. If you really want to have a good Italian meal with the right atmosphere, you are definitely better off in other restaurants.

We weren't impressed with this restaurant with "Italian" cuisine. The salad was quite okay. The sauce on the pasta was tasteless. The grated cheese sprinkled on top bore little resemblance to Parmesan. Too expensive for the quality in my opinion. The service was only partly good.

The visit to Casa Nostra was spontaneous and unnecessary. We got a table in the aisle and felt like we were at the airport. Quiet conversations were impossible, the music, which unfortunately wasn't just playing in the background and was a mix of Italian rock, pop but also Arabic, stopped all conversations. As a starter there was bruschetta. 2 pieces for 5.90. There was no salt, garlic and basil, but there was rocket and balsamic cream. The main course sounded promising, but only partially met our expectations. The noodles were still extremely Al Dente, the quantity was very manageable. There was no salt in the kitchen, but the balsamic cream had to go. Even though the main course was salmon and porcini mushrooms/truffles, the balsamic vinegar was very present on the plate. Afterwards, we noticed that the tables that did not order an appetizer received a greeting from the kitchen, while those with an appetizer did not receive a greeting from the kitchen. Overall just not recommended. Card payment was possible, but the fact that the lack of service was not rewarded with a tip was commented on non-verbally.

Very nice Italian restaurant, I was given a seat even without a reservation. The service was very friendly and always there. The food was absolutely great: a starter of bruschetta and an insalata mista, and the main course was a salami pizza that was simply perfect. Will come back soon

Pretty mediocre pizza for an establishment that claims to be an Italian restaurant. The claimed artichoke pizza had 2 slices of artichokes, as seen in the photo. I did not like the dough, it is not very similar to Italian

At first glance the restaurant looked quite good. Unfortunately, the starter platter was a bit expensive and not very tasty. Surely more could have been done with it. The main course was okay, but nothing special in taste. The price is quite high for the quality of the food.

The food or pizza there was very tasty! I also think the price-performance ratio for pasta, pizza and the like is very fair. The waiters were all super nice and friendly. They always made a few jokes and overall the atmosphere there was very good. I can only recommend it and will definitely come back.

It's all about tips, when you pay you are told that tips are not included. Until now I was of the opinion that I was giving the tip voluntarily and based on the politeness of the operator and the quality of the food. I'll keep it that way!!

A lovely lunch for two at Casa Nostra 🇮🇹 is perfect as a time out in Hamburg's summer heat and sunshine 😮☀️ with a free soup for starter - it tasted super nice 😋 there is already good style to feel 🍽️ We chose pizza vegetariania and cannelloni - and it tasted wonderful 😌🙏 The biggest surprise, however, was that the price incl. a large bottle of Aqua mineral was under €24 - and the waiter simply wouldn't accept my generous tip 👏😀 and instead gave me most of it back 🥇 which was a really nice gesture towards a grateful tourist 🤓👍🤗

Not great. The food was overpriced given the quality offered. Our orders were brought out quickly but, apart from that, the service was lacklustre.

Food not so great. But one of the few places that accept card payments in St. Georg. The waiter wanted to enter the service fee when paying by card because he said it wasn't included in the price. When we then made it clear that it was already included in the price. He rowed back. So whether and how much you tip should still be up to the customer; it is still voluntary. Cannot recommend this restaurant in terms of food or service.

We went out to eat yesterday on a recommendation and at first we received a friendly welcome and unfortunately our pizza didn't meet our expectations, so both of my mother's and mine's pizzas were totally tough and you couldn't get through it with cutlery, even when asked with a pizza knife and the waitress saw the pizzas and understood what we meant but because she only spoke English we couldn't communicate. She asked for a cappuccino on the house but they didn't want to give us the money, even if the boss asked me what I wanted to and they came to me with the money and they didn't. They didn't want to talk to us anymore and showed us to the door. It's a shame that they treat guests like that. I would leave the resturant based on this experience do not recommend.

Sunday night dinner was excellent. We shared the beef capaccio. I had a delicious shrimp Risotto with saffron. We finished with, what else, but tiramisu.

It was excellent and worth paying for. The wife and I had some delicious lamb with crispy vegetables and a good sauce. And a lovely tiramisu cake. And then wine with the food and a little sharp for the dessert (it was just for me). With tip, we came to 100 euros, so it's not that bad.

Very disappointed. You were already sitting at the table, then the service moved you to another table. The food was almost cold and we had to wait over 50 minutes for the food. You should also order two portions because the food is not enough. I recommend not eating there. What's more, the waitress at the end was so cheeky when paying and asked for a tip. If the food had been good and the staff friendly, I would have happily tipped €5, but that wasn't the case.

On the afternoon of 7.7.24, my wife and I went to Casa Nostra for the first time to have dinner. . Even though he had no right to do so, an indifferent, slightly wavy, short-bearded man, who was obviously the manager or chief there, asked me, "Are you Spanish?"!! In Germany, the address "you" is not addressed to someone you do not know, it is shameful and rude. Especially if that person is a Customer. When I said "I'm Turkish" without spoiling my joy, he looked at me with a disapproving expression!! We ordered 2 Pizzas, I asked them to put extra Garlic on my Vegetarian Pizza. I also ordered OrangenSAFT (Orange Juice). While we were waiting, the same person brought ravioli with butter sauce, olives and 3 slices of bread. It was unclear whether the ravioli was yoghurt or quark and it was disgusting. The pizzas arrived, mine had no garlic smell and no traces of cut garlic pieces. When I asked the chef, he assertively said "there is definitely it". I was halfway through the pizza. When I called the chef again and asked him, he shouted in a very rude voice and said "This is not Turkish pizza, it is not like the ones you eat". I was about to stand up, under pressure from my German wife. "Take this Pizza and bring minced garlic on it," I said. He went and took the garlic powder floating in the water in the tripe halls and came back. "This is what we put on your pizza," he said again in a rude and mocking manner. Me too; I specifically wanted a Vegetable Pizza, to see the real vegetables you have on my pizza. Then I said, "Put the tomato and pepper powder on the pizza, it will be cheaper." (By the way, the green pepper was not fresh, it looked like it had come out of a 40-year-old pickle.). He didn't understand, he looked at it like he was looking at a train! The pizzas were hard as rocks, my wife couldn't cut any of them, I had difficulty cutting them all with the saw power. The pizza ingredients are terrible, they bought the cheapest ones and used them. Oh, and Orange SAFT (Genuine Orange Juice) was literally like the CHEAPEST TASTELESS UNSALTED spoiled vinegar. We didn't drink it, we left it behind. It's literally Nectar. DEFINITELY DO NOT GO TO CASA NOSTRA, DO NOT WORRY YOUR STOMACH AND YOUR MIND WITH YOUR MONEY. I have been in Hamburg for 15 years. I am also a gastronomist, I own a Cafe&Bistrom. Every weekend we go to MARIO Eppendorf, who makes the best Pizza in Hamburg in our opinion, and we are always delighted. These Casa Nostra people should quit this job that they do not deserve and earn illicit money and go to MARIO and learn how to make the most delicious Pizza, how to serve and host these primitive, rude Casa Nostra people as soon as possible!

We recently visited Casa Nostra with family and were overall disappointed. Unfortunately, the “funny” sayings from the waiters were more inappropriate than entertaining. What was particularly annoying was the lack of a children's menu, which meant we had to pay the full adult price for the children too. In addition, the waiters were unfriendly towards the children, which made the visit very unpleasant for us as a family. Unfortunately, the pizza was only mediocre and didn't really impress us. We were definitely hoping for more from a restaurant.

Nachdem ich Platz genommen hatte, dauerte es 10 Minuten, bis jemand mir ohne Begrüßung im Vorbeigehen eine Speisekarte auf den Tisch legte. Eine Tafel mit Extra Gerichten, die anderen Tischen hingestellt wurde, bekam ich nicht zu sehen. Ein anderer Kellner stellte sich nach einer ganzen Weile an meinen Tisch und schaute mich an (er fragte nicht, was ich bestellen möchte, er schaute mich nur an). Ich bestellte dann eine Pizza und Wein. Die bestellte Pizza kam relativ schnell und war ganz ok (ziemlich salzig und mit dem Besteck eigentlich nicht zu schneiden, aber halt ok. Als nach dem Essen der Teller abgeräumt wurde (natürlich ohne Worte) bat ich um die Rechnung. Ich wartete wieder 15 Minuten vergeblich. Dann winkte ich den Chef an meinen Tisch. Ich erzählte ihm die ganze Story. Er entschuldigte sich und begründete das damit, dass die Mutter des Kellners 3 Stunden zuvor gestorben sei. Mein Fazit: Ich habe noch nie so unfreundliches, arrogantes Personal in einem italienischen Restaurant erlebt und werde hier auch garantiert nicht nochmal einkehren. Auch anderen kann ich nur abraten.

Alles nur nicht Italienisch: bruschetta war mit eiskalten Tomatenstücken belegt (Tomaten gehören nicht in den Kühlschrank, da sie an Aroma verlieren) und mit Aceto garniert ( geht garnicht), Risotto war Reis mit wässriger Soße ( außerdem kleine Portion für 19.90€), Pizza war geschmacklich gut, viel Käse und wenig Lachs . Außerdem spricht man im Casa Nostra englisch.

Hier ist eine umgeschriebene Version der Bewertung: Das Essen war generell sehr gut, wenn auch die Portionen klein waren. Allerdings fand ich es sehr unangebracht, dass bei der Bezahlung ausdrücklich darauf hingewiesen wurde, dass der Preis kein Trinkgeld enthält. Zudem wurde erst bei einem Trinkgeld von etwa 20% Danke gesagt. Bei einer Restaurantrechnung von etwa 1000€ plus 180€ Trinkgeld ist das inakzeptabel. Ich werde dort nicht mehr essen gehen.

Sweet little restaurant, very intimate despite the relatively small space to other tables. The Taglioini al Salmone were unfortunately relatively bland but very nicely prepared, the salmon was unfortunately gray instead of a beautiful pink. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Generally a 3/5

A delicious restaurant in itself. I think it's a shame that it was more expensive than what you see on the menu online, and that many of the things that were available online weren't available in the restaurant. What I found worst, however, was that the ambience throughout our entire visit was that the same three songs by Ayliva were playing, which was very tiring after the 4th repetition.

Der Service war arrogant bis frech - das Essen war unterer Durchschnitt - nach einer dreiviertel Stunde nachfragen für die Rechnung - obwohl genug Personal und fast keine Gäste vorhanden - kam nach dem Zahlen die Ansage "bitte kommen Sie nicht wieder". Man sollte immer Aufpassen, wenn der Laden zu leer ist !!!! zum Essen: das Fischfilet war ganz schlecht entgrätet - der Wein völlig überteuert - Summe - nie wieder...
