The breakfast buffet is very good. The food is high-quality and there's a good selection. The staff is very friendly. The location is unbeatable.

My mother-in-law had forgotten her beloved scarf at the hotel. Thanks to the attentive service, it arrived back with her before Christmas. Thank you!

We were there for breakfast. As with all Van Der Valk hotels, it was very nice, tastefully decorated, and left nothing to be desired. A fantastic location on the picturesque market square. Easy access by car.

Fantastic, I've rarely stayed in such a beautiful hotel. I had a room overlooking the market square, where the Christmas market was taking place – simply gorgeous. I found it a bit stingy that parking wasn't included in the price, but otherwise, there was nothing to complain about. The spa area was superb; I didn't try the restaurant.

A thoroughly 5 star experience.... Everything works perfectly, the rooms are magnificent and the entire hotel exudes elegance with a welcoming hall, followed by a staff that is professional to the point of being professional. The breakfast is absolutely sumptuous with a huge and varied selection of fresh and tasty ingredients. Eggs are available in many varieties, made to order in the buffet.

It is a very good hotel in the downtown of Hildesheim. My room, 2 levels, was very nice with a good view of the Christmas market. The fitness centre is well equipped with a swimming pool. Breakfast is the best way to start the day

Completely unfriendly and absolute dog haters, not recommended.

The Van der Valk Hotel Hildesheim unfortunately did not meet our expectations. It's a very nice hotel from the outside. However, we were woken up in the morning by maintenance staff to adjust the TV channels (we weren't watching TV). This could easily be done between two guests. Furthermore, the cleaning staff suddenly appeared in our room without knocking. We had reserved a table for breakfast in the morning, but it was already taken. At 10:10 a.m., I was finishing my tea when we received a rather unpleasant look from the housekeeper. We regularly stay in more expensive hotels—this one is more style than substance. The regular staff in the restaurant and at reception were very satisfactory, and they offered us a reasonable price. Nevertheless, these incidents are completely unacceptable. We will not be returning.

Everything went smoothly from arrival to departure. Very friendly staff. Parking is available directly underneath the hotel. The hotel is located right on the market square, making it a short walk to the city center. Highly recommended.

A truly beautiful hotel right in the center of Hildesheim. The food in the restaurant is really good, and the staff was incredibly friendly and able to accommodate special dietary requests. The breakfast was also really good. There were endless pancakes and lots of good muesli. The cheese and cheese selection was a bit smaller, but there was something for everyone. The only downside is the inconsistent pricing. A price that's available on the website in the morning may no longer be valid for the same room in the afternoon. On the other hand, it might be cheaper two days later. Nevertheless, I'd be happy to stay there again.

Magnificent hotel overlooking a charming town square. Suitable for families with children. The pool and sauna area is great. A very good breakfast. The hotel restaurant is open for dinner or lunch.

Simply beautiful! The rooms are top-notch, with bathrobes and slippers, and complimentary water and tea. I would definitely recommend a room with a market view; in the evenings, you can gaze out at the historic city center from your bed! Don't worry, sensitive sleepers, restaurants close at 10:30 p.m., so no disturbance. The swimming pool and wellness area are open, but we're not using them; we're too busy exploring all the surrounding sights. Everything, absolutely everything, is in the immediate vicinity, so you can retreat and relax for a while at any time. Top hotel, top location, 5 stars 🌟

Very nice rooms, mine with a view of the beautiful historic square. Excellent and kind service. Great bed, only the pillows are too soft, but everyone has their own preferences 😁 Parking in the underground garage is not included and costs €9 per night. Breakfast is another €25, but I skipped that.

Great location! Very nice rooms with comfortable beds. Tip: If you're arriving by car, please park in the Markt parking garage. From there, you have direct access to the hotel. Parking fees are payable at reception.

Now been our traditional stopover on our way south. Great value for the price. Quality breafast and facilities, kind service, comfortable rooms. The market place is a beautiful place to hang out in the evening, and the parking lot just under the hotell makes everything very easy.

I was working in the area and had chosen this hotel online for an overnight stay. The access to the public parking garage (with a direct connection to the hotel) is a bit of a challenge...but it doesn't spoil the overall impression in any way. The reception was friendly, check-in was problem-free, and the room was ready! The room was state-of-the-art, with a chip card reader at the door, air conditioning, and a refrigerator - perfect. The bed was very high quality! The bathroom "shone" with a level of cleanliness rarely seen. Tub + shower, double sink, shampoo, shower gel, and body lotion - all included - that's a very good standard! You had to look for signs of wear and tear - perfect for me (I've experienced something completely different - even at 4 stars). The restaurant and bar are also furnished to a high standard and with a high level of sophistication - the staff are prompt and extremely friendly. I had some special requests for dinner (a combination of several different dishes) – these were gladly accommodated and fulfilled at no extra charge (photo 4). Compliments!!! It was a very pleasant stay – on eBay, you'd say - we'd be happy to come back again – Garagen-Klaus says THANK YOU!!!

This Van der Valk hotel is located in the center on the market. Both the restaurant and the bar overlook the market. As a result, the restaurant and the bar are somewhat smaller than other Van der Valk hotels, but very suitable for the area. The underground parking is spacious. I give the service 4 stars. The room was very neat, the service in the restaurant was very ok. Only in the bar, on the last evening. We suddenly got the bill, after they had already come a few times to ask if we wanted anything else while everything was not finished and we had not asked for the bill. Great location to explore Hildesheim.

My wife gave me the "Little Time Out" package at the Van der Valk Hildesheim for my 40th birthday. As fans of the brand and considering the hotel's location and reputation, our expectations were correspondingly high – especially for an occasion like this. Even upon check-in, it became apparent that the organization wasn't running smoothly: The receptionist knew nothing about our booked package and couldn't explain how dinner would be organized. Instead, we were sent (with our luggage – we didn't want to have to walk to our room and then back again) to the restaurant to inquire there ourselves. Particularly disappointing: In my presence, it was revealed that a birthday card would be waiting for me in the room – thus ruining the surprise. We received a friendly welcome in the restaurant, but our package was initially missing. The staff member promised to look into it internally and asked us when we wanted to eat. At least we felt like we were being taken seriously. When we arrived in the room, the birthday card was completely missing. It was a private card that my wife had previously organized and handed in to reception. Hoping it was in the wrong room, we went back to reception. But no one there could help, as the card remained missing. Until our departure, no one proactively approached us to apologize or inform us of the card's whereabouts. We had to follow up ourselves, but received no further information. Unfortunately, our room revealed several defects: The faucet dripped, the door closer was set so that the door slammed shut extremely loudly and quickly, the shower leaked, and at night there was a loud whistling noise due to a draft. After our first complaint, we were immediately offered another room – which we declined, as we were already getting ready for dinner. Had we known about all the defects at that point, we might have accepted the offer. On the positive side, the staff was always friendly and helpful. When I asked for a suitable place to play a board game, the gallery was lovingly prepared for us – with a handwritten birthday note, a plate of sweets, snacks, hotel socks as a small gift, and the requested bottle of wine (only the wine was charged). However, the note was mistakenly addressed to my wife, even though she had made it possible for me to celebrate my birthday – certainly an oversight, but a little more care would have been appreciated on such an occasion. Nevertheless, it was overall a nice gesture that pleased us. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent. This is where the hotel showed its strengths: quality, selection, and service left nothing to be desired. Shortly before checkout, our room key card suddenly stopped working. Luckily, a friendly cleaning staff member immediately helped us and let us into the room. Then, when we checked out, the printer at the reception desk broke down, so we couldn't get the bill right away. These are minor details in themselves, but they complete the picture of a less than perfect stay. Another point: According to the room tray, the pool, sauna, and sports area were closed for renovations. We found no information about this on the website or at the hotel. We didn't specifically ask, but especially for a relaxation package, we would have appreciated more transparency to adjust our expectations. We're leaving with mixed feelings. The friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food are beyond question. However, the cumulative organizational glitches, the lack of communication, and the technical deficiencies in the room tarnish the overall impression – especially if you know and appreciate Van der Valk. We might have given another hotel four stars, but here our expectations were simply higher.

Centrally located on the main square in Hildesheim, this hotel was beautifully renovated and most likely recently renovated. We had a large comfortable family room with plenty of room. The pool area was brand new and gorgeous. My daughter loved it! Breakfast was abundant, delicious and beautifully presented. I warmly recommend this hotel.

We stayed for two nights and were completely satisfied. Parking was great, the location was central, and the service was friendly. The rooms were very well-equipped and quiet (ours faced the back, away from the pedestrian zone). The bar also left nothing to be desired. We highly recommend the hotel.

Very nice staff, I was able to check into the room at 2:30 p.m. The room was nice and clean. The shower floor was just very slippery. The breakfast was also great. It's a beautiful, clean and nice hotel. Very happy again.

Very good Food, very good room for sleeping

The Hotel Van der Valk in Hildesheim is a beautiful hotel in the middle of the city of Hildesheim. You can hold seminars in the hotel as a company and also celebrate in the evenings. The halls are also suitable for weddings of different sizes. I have already been able to accompany weddings and corporate events as a DJ in this hotel. The service of the hotel is first class.

We ate there and the schnitzel was by far the worst thing I've eaten! Not knocked inside still pink… starter was burrata, taste is like that… dessert was crème brulee, I've had better… what was nice was the decor. We also had extremely long waiting times... Oh and the service was very accommodating, great! With the kitchen and poor performance, the store will never see us again!

Very nice and well-kept hotel on the rebuilt town hall square in Hildesheim. Right next to the world-famous bone carver's office and the town hall.

Today I was in Hildesheim with my sister at the restaurant of the Hotel Van Der Valk. The restaurant is very tastefully and comfortably decorated. We chose two different three-course menus. We started with very crusty bread and onion soup. My main course was a pink-roasted duck breast and fried noodles with a mixed salad. My dessert was a scoop of ice cream and a small chocolate cake filled with melted chocolate and served with vanilla sauce. It was an extremely delicious lunch; my sister also enjoyed it very much. We can both highly recommend the restaurant at the Hotel Van Der Valk. I will be booking a room at this hotel soon.

Nice place where we have been coming for many years. A bit sad that they still don't have access to their sauna, gym and swimming pool. They market themselves with it and also take the same payment. Their juicer was out of order and they had not provided a decent alternative.

Very good hotel, centrally located in the beautiful old town center of Hildesheim. Very good, modern rooms, especially on the 4th floor with a balcony and a view over the roofs of the old town. The buffet at lunchtime and/or evening time is excellent, thanks to the tasty preparation of the cuisine.

The use of the spa/wellness and fitness should be included in the completely exorbitant price. Unfortunately it cannot be used due to renovation work. From 7:00 a.m. craftsmen. TG very tight. Why does the single room cost €175 if many of the included services cannot be used? We were guests for the second time with 4 people, but also the last time 🙈

Currently difficult to access due to construction work and the SPA area is closed. Still full price! Over 170 euros per night. Water in the sink did not drain. Breakfast okay, service staff friendly and helpful. Price-performance ratio doesn't fit. It's a shame, overall nice house.

Breakfast good, the rest 1 star, catastrophic entrance to the underground car park, windows very permeable to air and with peepholes, mattresses very soft, drain shower and sink unacceptable, and 50% programs not yet HD ready, so ARD and Co. don't work!!! Update January 12th, different room with whistling heater and generally… whoever lives on the market square. Even conversations on the square on the 3rd floor can be heard with the windows closed. Not for guests who want peace and quiet. Despite the door sign saying “please do not disturb”, housekeeping is in the room and it is only in the shower that you notice that the shower gel is empty… we are probably on the show “Do you understand fun?” 😉 oh yes, the directions are in the email from the hotel wrong… dead end

Great location, clean and comfortable rooms. The reception can be more useful with information for the guests. The bar is too small and for 4 days stay, was never a place. The swimming pool was quite small too and the water was really cold. Fitness space is a joke for a 4 star hotel.

I stayed at the Van der Valk Hotel in Hildesheim during a trip and was completely thrilled. The hotel impresses with an excellent location, an appealing ambience and very attentive service. I was particularly impressed by the breakfast: the selection was varied, the quality of the food was top, and it was regularly replenished. Room was clean, comfortable and had everything you need for a pleasant stay. And the monkey lights were great. I would definitely like to come back and can only recommend this hotel - ideal for business travelers and leisure stays!

We stayed here over Christmas. A cozy hotel with an excellent location. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Dinner was disappointing for us. The Christmas brunch, on the other hand, was very good with a lot of variety. The breakfast was good. Although it was very tight to get everything. A more spacious layout is better. We noticed that the hotel needs an upgrade, although it is a bit outdated. The dining chairs wobble and creak, as do the dining tables. The restaurant is cozy, typically German. Ideally located. Close to all shops and a cozy town. The Christmas market is nice and cozy. Parking at the hotel is quite difficult and it is a pity that it does not belong to the Van der Valk hotel, so you have to pay parking costs. While at the other Van der Valk hotels this is free, as it should be. The room is good and clean. The bed is wonderful. An upgrade is also needed here. Quite outdated. The shower is cramped. Unfortunately no separate toilet. This is located close to the shower. Many older people stay in this hotel. We immediately felt at home🤪😊. In short, we had a pretty good time.

A very nice and well-kept hotel in an excellent location right on the market square. The ambience alone is worth mentioning. The rooms are very nicely furnished and really have enough space. There is nothing missing in the room or in the bathroom. Very nice bar with absolutely friendly and attentive staff. The menu and breakfast buffet leave nothing to be desired. The staff throughout the hotel are very friendly and extremely attentive. Very well-trained, perfect employees, which are often missing in some other hotels. All in all a hotel with top marks!

Nice hotel, in a very good location in Himdesheim. Good service and nice bar. Always happy to come back. In summer you can sit outside on the market square and enjoy your drink.

Nice hotel, good location, average restaurants

Great humorous staff, concierge, bartender and even the cleaning lady, great bar with delicious cocktails, gigantic beautiful entrance area, good restaurant, fitness room and swimming pool... Right in the heart of the city, underground parking... only the rooms are a bit old Pillows and blankets with plastic filling are not for everyone.

My husband and I got married in Hildesheim, stayed in one of the suites of this hotel for three nights for the occasion and were very excited! What particularly stood out for us was the extremely comfortable and large bed, the free-standing bathtub and the double shower, as well as the large balcony. We were only able to test the breakfast once, but it left absolutely nothing to be desired. I have to say that this suite was one of the best hotel experiences!

There is an underground car park right next to the hotel, very large, beautiful rooms, huge handicapped-accessible shower, rich breakfast. central city center location, everything was great and would be happy again. The only thing that didn't work for me was logging into the WiFi on my iPhone.

Nice conference hotel, high-quality food, the dining room is very dark and there is no separation between the individual groups. Service is very demanding because there are so many guests at the same time. The conference room is a bit old and the food is good except for the coffee machine. Rich breakfast, there is a lack of fruit here, everything else is honey from the honeycomb, fried eggs, freshly made Prosecco and freshly squeezed O juice

A great, well-kept, chic hotel and a real surprise in a smaller town. Friendly welcome, great rooms and: world record when checking out. What in 5 star hotels makes the computers smoke and the hurried guest despair, took 30 seconds here. Card, paid, do you want the invoice printed or... I got it by email, was at the door and already had it in my inbox. Really great, nerve-free start to the day. Oh yes, and the beds... 🛌🏼💤♥️ wonderful!

For fans of the classicist style, this hotel is a true experience! Equipped with luxurious, large rooms and a wide selection of food and catering options, you can definitely have a good time here. I was here on business at the expense of my client, so I can't say anything about the cost of the room. However, the service, breakfast and facilities were so good that I remember it very positively.

When you enter the hotel you are pleasantly surprised. The lobby is very nicely designed. The rooms are simple but pleasant. When you look closer, you notice the unclean work of the maid. The bathroom has only been superficially cleaned, there are toothpaste residues, hair and water stains on the lower sink shelf, and the floor looks uncleaned. Only the middle of the bedroom has been vacuumed, the rest has been forgotten, the cupboards have grease stains, the ashtray on the balcony has not been emptied. The pillow had pulling threads, something like that should be discarded. WiFi was not available. When asked, this problem was known, but nothing could be done. Unfortunately the room only deserves 1 star. The service is friendly and attentive.

An absolute top hotel. I was here for a conference and I was absolutely thrilled. Firstly, the location, in the middle of Hildesheim's historic market square. Secondly, the staff, perfect service, unfeigned friendliness and helpfulness. Third, class room with capsule machine for coffee and tea. A modern bathroom with a large shower. Fourth, first class food. I would have given the sixth star here. 100% recommendation, thumbs up 👍

Hotel in a prime location in the center of Hildesheim. Beautiful, bright, modern and clean, sufficiently large rooms. However, the breakfast area is not optimally furnished. The buffet area is far too narrow and therefore uncomfortably overcrowded during peak times. The selection of food is okay, but that's to be expected for a hotel category like this. The staff is friendly and helpful... Not a “never forget stay”, but definitely recommended for a short trip. The swimming pool is also fine, but for me there is no sauna area.

A top hotel and the price is very affordable. Can recommend it. Facilities very upscale. Rooms are large and have very upscale furnishings. Mattress as if you were sleeping on clouds. Just wonderful . The highlight is right on the historic market square.

A hotel in a class of its own. Particularly noteworthy is Ms. Ott from the reception. Always friendly and extremely eager to please the hotel guests. We, my husband Stefan and I, were very impressed by her courteous nature and would stay at the Van Der Valk Hotel again on our next stay in Hildesheim just because of her. We really liked room 408. The restaurant on the ground floor is also highly recommended.

After a very successful crime dinner, we spent one night in the hotel. This decision was perfect. The brunch on Sunday also left nothing to be desired. We can only report positive experiences.

Diarrhea from KRIMIDINNER Hildesheim. We stayed as a group at the Hotel Van der Valk and visited the KRIMIDINNER Hildesheim. EVERYONE had diarrhea that night/the next morning!!! The performance itself had the charm of an outdated series of shallow jokes. Both NEVER again.

Rooms excellently equipped as described, even with bathrobes in two sizes for the swimming pool. The water there was colder than stated, but it was okay. The food is consistently outstanding. The staff in the restaurant are consistently very nice and attentive. You should use the safe in the room for valuables, as the rooms were left open during cleaning this time. The hotel is located 10 minutes walk from the train station in the middle of the city.

We have already been to a van der Falk hotel in Enschede. We like this one a lot better! The food was very good, as was the service! There are also bathrobes[!!] in the room since there is a pool. There is also a pool in Enschede, but no bathrobes even upon request! So - there are differences in this hotel chain!

This was a very surprising stay for me and my wife!!! This is a great hotel in the middle of Hildesheim. We booked a King Suite but unfortunately had bad smell issues, however Aitor from reception was the absolute best and made sure our stay was great, he moved us to a Junior Suite, loft style and it was fantastic, so despite this issue I still give it 5 starts. Room bathroom and shower were amazing, very quite and comfy room, breakfast was nice and varied and dinner as well very nice. I would say its quite a nice boutique hotel for a weekend escape.
