Death by Pizza in Hildesheim

I wanted to drink hot chocolate and eat a cheese cake. You are sent through the store 3 times before you can order and have to come 3 times to carry your food and drinks to the table yourself on a tray. In addition, the hot chocolate is just brown water and the store offers almost no service.

The delivery time was over an hour, even though the restaurant is just 10 minutes away by car. Of course, the wrong dish was delivered, a plate of pasta that was completely soft and mushy, in ready-made packaging like from the frozen food department in the supermarket. To make matters worse, it's also cold. No way to contact anyone to clarify this But the cheesecake was really good

Delivery was supposed to be here at 8pm, an hour and 40 minutes later still nothing. They cannot be reached by phone and they have not responded to our email either. We hope to get the money back via Paypal. I have never experienced such bad service. Never again…

My food and that of my children were very heavy on onions. Not so great, especially with children's menus. The service was very friendly. We only waited a long time to pay because the employees still had something to discuss. The portions were good. I found the price rather too high. But you have to take everything into account. I'm currently reading the selection below... Wheelchair accessible. Yes, it is, but downstairs there are almost only tables that are high. There are low tables at the top of the floor, but you can't get there if you're in a wheelchair. So it's just not really suitable for multiple people.

Even though the restaurant was almost empty, the food took a long time. Pizzas 🍕 didn't taste good. Spaghetti was hardly seasoned and lukewarm. We were there with friends a year ago... it wasn't particularly good back then. We wanted to give the restaurant a second chance this year... no improvement at all !!Perhaps ok for a café.The food was lukewarm and miserable..We won't go back for a third visit!!It's a shame!!!

For 15 euros I was delivered a meal that, in terms of taste, appearance and packaging, looked like a ready-made meal from the microwave. When I pointed this out to the man on the phone, he simply offered me a Coke on the house with my next order. The driver was friendly, but that doesn't change the fact that the quality is completely unacceptable for the price. Very disappointing, I will not order from here again.

We ordered from the university. Larger quantity but at least it was delivered on time. But that was almost it in terms of positive things. The delivery was incomplete, partly cold and completely carelessly prepared. Additional ingredients on the pizza were simply left uncut... not nice for the price!

Probably due to the location but very little going on for the size of the restaurant. The waiter is not very attentive and has to ask umpteen times. The restaurant itself had few comfortable seats and was very cold, well considering the energy prices. Okay for a quick snack, price wise but not for a cozy evening, unfortunately.

We really enjoy being here. We mostly eat salad that is freshly prepared. It is served in a rustic molle. We usually order dressing separately, otherwise there is often too much of it. There is also delicious bread. You can now order at your seat and it is served at least in the lower area of ​​the restaurant. Previously this was not possible. You had to order at the counter and pick up the food there. We like the ambience. Everyone is very friendly. You can also order pizza with spelled flour. For pasta dishes you can choose the type of pasta.

Pizza and pasta were super tasty and freshly prepared. There were three of us and we waited about 15 minutes until the food was ready.

The food is very good. The pizza and pasta are on point. There is a large selection of dishes. In the lower part you are served at the table. The furnishings are very harmonious. The outside is inviting.

The ambience is very great. No matter where you look you see many "posters" with cool pictures or sayings from pop culture and more. Very nice coordinated choice of colors for the entire interior design. What I think is good, in addition to the presentation, is the fact that they offer something like mac and cheese, for example. In my opinion, this is not ordinary Italian cuisine, but a slightly modified one that tries something new. And rightly so in the fast food and kebab town of Hildesheim. The open kitchen is very reminiscent of the former VaPiano concept. The service was great, I was served by a small, young, black-haired lady who was super friendly and explained everything to me and was able to answer all my questions. The pizza was OK. Didn't think the dough was bad. Unfortunately the pizza was a bit lukewarm. I've been there three times now. Each time I only noticed one negative thing: the food seemed a little too lightly seasoned for my personal taste. Seasoning with salt and a pepper mill is possible as these are at every table. The shop is definitely worth a visit.

This place, under new management, has maintained everything that made it special, improving the quality of table service. The modern environment, with its minimalist and elegant design, welcomes guests in a relaxing and refined atmosphere. I was looking forward to Death by Pizza, especially after all the hype reviews and promising photos. But unfortunately my experience was a complete disappointment. First about ordering: the wait was absurdly long, and when the pizza finally arrived it was lukewarm rather than hot. At that price I at least expect the food to be delivered in good condition! The price-performance ratio is not right at all. Even the cheapest frozen pizza tastes way better. Conclusion: If you want a good pizza, you're better off going somewhere else. I definitely won't eat here again!

We have been there several times and have always been relatively satisfied. But now we probably won't be back until further notice. It started when we were given the wrong dish at first. For us as vegans who then received vegetarian pasta instead of a vegan pasta dish, this was initially quite unfortunate. We ate the pasta anyway because otherwise it probably would have been thrown away. But we would certainly have gotten a new one, that was our decision. It can happen sometimes. Then I got my order: a vegan bruscetta pizza, according to the menu. There was also animal mozerella cheese on it, which we only noticed a little later. However, the menu clearly stated, marked by the "V symbol", that the pizza was vegan, even if it said "Mozerella". We assumed that this was probably vegan mozerella. Funnily enough: other dishes say “also available vegan” as an additional addition. When we commented on the whole thing, we got the answer that we had to say this about the pizza, that it should be vegan??? But the addition was not on the Bruscetta Pizza. This can quickly become unpleasant for people with lactose intolerance or other intolerances. The dish is declared very misleadingly on the menu. Unfortunately we didn't even get a discount or anything similar, which was a shame.

The food was great, there's nothing to complain about. But we didn't know anything about the ordering system, and it wasn't explained when we came in, so we sat a little longer until we noticed that it was self-service here. A true pizza paradise discovered! The pizza here is simply the best I've ever tasted. The sourdough base gives every pizza a unique touch - crispy, aromatic and simply incomparable. The dough thickness is perfectly balanced, neither too thin nor too thick. The homemade sauces are particularly impressive. They taste so authentic and delicious, as if they were personally prepared by an Italian nonna. Every bite is a pleasure that takes you straight to Italy. For all pizza lovers, this restaurant is an absolute must. A culinary journey not to be missed. We came here especially from Hanover and it was worth it.

A nice restaurant, modern and trendy. The pizza is good and the service is friendly. Convenient in the outdoor area and directly at one of the passages to the Arneken. Inside I would create a few more comfortable seats with backrests and armrests. A few seasoning oils for pizza are cheap to make and would brighten up the visit for people who like it a little spicier. All in all, a good starting point when visiting the city center 👍

My 8 year old son can make better pasta with fried vegetables. Just embarrassing for an Italian restaurant. In the baguette you will find tough meat that was pre-fried 3 days ago. Unfortunately, not everyone can season. Absolutely no recommendation, we won't be coming back.

I ordered food and it arrived cold.

Unfortunately my visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. The service was anything but attentive. As soon as I entered the restaurant I felt ignored and my needs were not addressed throughout my entire stay. They didn't even ask if everything was okay. The dishes remained on the table, even though we had obviously finished eating, and no one asked if we would like something more to drink or dessert. Instead, we received strange looks, as if we should leave the store. Another big drawback was that the food wasn't served at the same time. By the time the second dish finally arrived, the first one was already cold - something like that shouldn't happen. In addition, the staff was very dry and unfriendly. We weren't given any leftover food because the employees weren't interested in us late in the evening. All in all a disappointing visit. I definitely won't be coming back.

We went on a short trip to Hildesheim purely by chance through the Arneken Gallery and arrived here at this restaurant on our first evening. What was there to drink, ate and drank the next time and then met friends here on the third evening, highly recommended. The local, super good food, very great, great value for money here because the service is also great

Food is very good, it is my favourite go-to in Hildesheim. The portions are huge and very tasty, also unusual combinations of ingredients which give them a twist and will surprise you. It is better to dine in there than let it deliver it to you, its not the same when the pizza is already cold. But the place is huge and theres always a free table. give this one a try!!

I would like to share my recent experience at this restaurant, which was unfortunately very disappointing. The service left a lot to be desired, especially the behavior of the waiter. As a single guest, I was asked to change my table, which I found extremely rude. Furthermore, the waiter showed no commitment and did not offer me any alternative solutions. This inappropriate behavior greatly affected my visit. Based on this experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

Today I just drank a delicious hello-wake cappu. Thanks for that, very nice employees and I didn't die. The menu reads interestingly, I'd love to come back and try out which pizza turns me on so much that I'll die for it...death by pizza!

Nice place with good food, nice prices

Unfortunately, I can't understand the mostly good reviews here at all. Today (November 17th, 2022) the only good thing was actually the pizza... Sequentially: - Arrival at the restaurant: no staff visible, the "order card" was only found after a long search and questions. - Immediately afterwards it became clear why - a single employee was responsible for handing out the cards, taking orders, the bar and ultimately payment processing - later he also rolled raw dough balls for the pizza... there were around 20 customers in the room Restaurant that seats well over 100 - I don't even want to imagine what the service is like when the restaurant is full. - The employee in question was not only overworked, he also lacked any technical or product knowledge. He didn't know the wines - neither the ones on the menu (which were obviously out of stock anyway) nor the ones he had in the bar. Vodka as a digestif was also not available & we were unexpectedly served a Jack Daniels Cola as vodka... - but the biggest disappointment was the food... the grilled vegetables (starter) were a sourly preserved ready-made product that was drowned in oil in a grill pan and prepared lukewarm and was provided without bread or anything like that. The only thing the Caesar salad had in common with the original recipe was the bread croutons. Only the pizza was crispy & tasty & therefore acceptable (hence the one star). To end it badly, my Edenred card was not accepted (despite the logo at the entrance)...probably because the acceptance point was no longer available. All in all: very disappointing and unfortunately once again a confirmation of the service desert Germany after Corona. If the innkeepers complain about a lack of guests, they should first do their homework... otherwise they themselves will be responsible for the downward spiral in the catering industry.

Still very filling. The four of us didn't like the fact that the drinks came quite late. The rest was, as always, recommended.

The food was super good and really nice treatment The staff was a bit stressful but they he with everything. Passed by and saw this nice restaurant, had missed it I was looking for somewhere to eat, but still went in here and had a beer, saw their menu looks really good

Death by Pizza is a shop with many different products, you can customize almost all dishes when it comes to meat and pasta, for example. We had pasta dishes and I absolutely love the preparation because you could see all the steps and nothing was hidden. The only thing I could deduct is that you have to add a little seasoning every now and then, you just can't please everyone. It is served in such a way that you can simply pack it into a take-away container yourself. The store looks really great and the staff is super friendly and well attended due to the location. Just to remove and relax

The atmosphere is very cozy and appealing. The food tastes good. I don't think self-service is that good in a restaurant over two floors. There are also two queues because food and drinks are at separate counters.

Today I ordered a salad for lunch with my daughter and I really have to say: both salads were excellent! Everything very fresh and perfectly prepared with fresh, toasted bread. Since I wasn't sure about the dressing, I was given a sample - I've actually never experienced that before, it was very thoughtful 😊 We will be happy to come back and I highly recommend Death by Pizza!

Absolutely great taste. Fair prices, large portions, simply tastes great. Unfortunately there is a bit of a lack of communication: Papardelle was ordered for the second time, but spaghetti was prepared. Personally, I don't eat spaghetti at all, it's just not my type of pasta. If there is no Papardelle, simply ask for an alternative and do not decide for the customer. But it's more like complaining at a high level. As I said, overall it's great. Friendly staff, great ambience and delicious food.

Mega shop, mega pizza....only problem is, the shop is in Hildesheim. Way too good a shop for a city like this.

Great pizza creations, beyond the standard pizzas. The open kitchen allows you to see how your own food is being prepared. Very friendly staff, you pick up your own food and drinks, so the service is difficult to rate.

The ingredients were all fresh and I mean all the ingredients. The desserts were really delicious and the staff was really very accommodating. I found the payment system to be really creative and the location invites you to stroll around, you really feel at home.

Is structured like Vapiano. You get a card, go to the area where you want food and order there. Food is booked on the card, you receive a beeper which vibrates when the food is ready and you can pick it up yourself. At the end you pay just before the exit. The food is good. Large selection, prices are ok. In the lower area you sit on stools at high tables, which isn't very comfortable in the long run.

Hip location, not very inviting to linger for a long time. The constant running back and forth of guests who have to hand in and pick up their orders themselves means there is no coziness. The constant noise level also contributes to this.
