We came here today because of the good reviews, and we can only confirm this. We received such a friendly welcome and had about four different people at our table, all of whom were really attentive and friendly. The food was also great; we had four different orders; the only thing was that the fries arrived cold. This restaurant is an absolute must if you're in Heidelberg.

This was, by far, the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. The service was shockingly slow, and the waiter who served us was both rude and clueless. We were two people dining in, and after placing our order, we waited 40–45 minutes with no food at all. When we told the waiter that we had been waiting over 40 minutes and wanted to leave, he responded, “Has it really been that long?” and went inside. He returned shortly after with the first pizza he could grab—which looked nothing like what we ordered. Still, he insisted it was our order. We experienced rude service, terrible hospitality, and completely unsatisfying food. It was so bad that I wanted to walk out the first time I visited. I absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone

Their breakfast buffet is top-notch, offering a wide variety of options for non-meat eaters as well. The food quality is excellent, and the service is outstanding. Overall, it’s a fantastic deal. Additionally, the place is very kid friendly.

We usually eat at this restaurant because we like the atmosphere and the food. However, yesterday we were treated unacceptable by a waitress. We ordered a cheese burger and she misunderstood the order, claiming she asked twice if it was the correct order (which never happened) and finally apologized saying she couldn't change the product. We always order the same burger and strangely the staff have never misunderstood the order. That was a very uncomfortable moment. Instead of apologizing and offering the right burger, they started arguing. From a good restaurant you expect that the service is customer-oriented and that the customer has a pleasant moment and not more stress than he has already had all day. Hopefully they will improve this aspect and advise the staff to provide better service.

We were guests at the Urban Kitchen Heidelberg for our annual family reunion with 17 people. The service during the meal was very attentive and friendly, the food was of very good quality - we felt very comfortable at first. Unfortunately, the positive impression when paying was completely destroyed: we were assumed to have consumed a dish and a drink but not paid. This accusation was not true. Despite our explanation, the staff showed no insight - even though the mistake was clearly on the part of the restaurant. We found the unfounded allegation particularly disappointing, given a total turnover of around €500 and an additional tip of €50 compared to an alleged deficit of only €15.

Food is quite good, nothing special. The ambience would be really cool if countless bachelorette parties didn't take place here on Saturdays. However, there was a surprise when paying: items were booked that we had demonstrably not ordered. Unfortunately, the reaction of the waitress was very negative and unfriendly, there was no relent even though we had already come forward and there were also a lot of tips. It was claimed that this couldn't happen here... Conclusion: very poor problem-solving skills and no service thought. You can also eat burgers and fries elsewhere!

I absolutely loved my visit to Urban Kitchen in Heidelberg! The atmosphere is modern, cozy and perfect for feeling good. The menu is varied and offers something for every taste - whether vegetarian, vegan or meat lover. My dish was not only beautifully prepared, but also a real highlight in terms of taste. The service was attentive, friendly and very accommodating. What I found particularly positive was how fresh and high quality the ingredients were. I'll definitely be back and can highly recommend Urban Kitchen to everyone!

We spontaneously went to Urban and received a friendly welcome! The restaurant was busy but we were served quickly! The atmosphere was a bit loud but not unpleasant! We had a good time! The drinks came quickly and the food didn't take long either!! I had a Lillet and a Summer Bowl! The food was very tasty! We also had a large apple spritzer and a burger which was also very tasty!

Menu varied, portions a bit small, price okay. Location in the basement of the old indoor swimming pool is chic, service is super friendly and on point. Large outdoor area, quiet for City HD.

Absolute top tip - highly recommended! A very stylish restaurant, chicly decorated. We were served by Tobi - incredibly nice, friendly, attentive and you can just tell: finally someone who has fun at work and with the customers! You made our evening! But the most important thing: food and drinks - handmade. No convenience food crap. Delicious cocktails and the food: a poem. Tomato cream soup with fresh naan bread - simple and very tasty. The Mexican bowl was a decent portion, had everything in it that needed to be included, varied and also super tasty! Chili Cheese Burger. There's nothing to say other than: a solid 10 out of 10! Dessert - I really didn't need it anymore, but at the end... Both the blueberry crumble and the warm chocolate soufflé were simply great! Urban City is simply recommended! I've been here several times and I'm just thrilled every time. The food always tastes really good and as a vegetarian I have a good selection, the service is super nice and the atmosphere with the decoration and the ambience is very pleasant. I'm looking forward to eating there next time :))

Basically the food was OK. The salads were a bit older and the guacamole on the chili con carne bowl had a skin. Maybe don't prepare so early.

The three of us were there for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The buffet offers everything you need. The shop is very cozy, great seating. But the team is special! Rarely have I had so many friendly, cheerful and hard-working waiters/waitresses. It was so great that we went back for dinner late in the afternoon. The burgers were great. We'd love to come back!

We were in Heidelberg for 2 days and ate here both evenings. We really liked the rough charm of the location. Plus the delicious food and great drinks. It should be particularly mentioned that the employees were very friendly and accommodating.

The later the evening, the less often the service came.

A beautiful shop, ambitious waiters, fresh and delicious food. If you go to the breakfast buffet on Saturday morning, you can expect to wait in line for a short time. But everything is absolutely within limits. They go out of their way to refill everything fresh and without a long wait. Absolutely great 🥰

Nice location and great food. In our time slot a big group of 20 young people ordered before us. Little more long to wait for meal. Kids friendly, because they have removed things from burger for them. Location in the cave of an old swimminghal. You need to reservate a table in advance.

Very nicely furnished and a young, friendly audience - but then it ends on a positive note. Pizza rolls that are swimming in the dressing of the decorative salad and are disgustingly gooey on the bottom, extra cheese in the burger that wasn't there at first, then only partially melted and was still used very sparingly. The culmination of this unspeakable eating experience was a long hair in the burger. There were new pizza rolls (again with salad, although explicitly ordered away, but at least without dressing), but no apology and no discount, no matter how small, or a drink on the house to make up for the hair in the burger, which really spoiled our appetite. One thing this store and we at least share - everyone involved is certainly happy to never see each other again. We would recommend giving the restaurant a wide berth, where we unfortunately celebrated our 50th birthday.

I have been to urban kitchen many times and it’s always been a pleasure. I would definitely recommend the brunch. But dinner is also really nice, they have a big interior space and chill decoration that makes you feel like you’re in your own living room. The cocktails are also fun and always served with a little something. Oh and I almost forgot the best part, the blueberry crumble… you guys… just wowww

I was there twice. The atmosphere is quite good and you can meet up with larger groups there. But the food wasn't tasty on both occasions. Thai basil with rice wasn't authentic and I can't recommend the burger either (burned patty). Both times we had to wait about an hour until the dishes were served. It wasn't worth the wait.

There are very tasty drinks (also according to special requests), food is also completely okay (burgers and pizza rolls tried and found to be good) all in all a nice stay. The billing process could be simplified a bit.

Unfortunately, service was not very attentive, but very accommodating when making reservations etc. It is also suitable for groups as there are many large tables. It was very cold in the back room and the toilet smelled unpleasantly of mint. But the food was super tasty, great selection, lots of vegetarian dishes

We went to Heidelberg for a few days' short break last year. Once, we tried the breakfast buffet at Urban Kitchen. It was unbeatable! Not only super delicious and with a good selection (not run-of-the-mill, including vegan options), but also more than reasonable for the price. The next day, we spontaneously went back for cocktails and a snack – the food was equally impressive. The ambiance is also very appealing, perhaps a bit noisy in the evenings – it's up to each individual to decide. We had great luck both times, but for larger groups, I would recommend making a reservation.

I recently visited Urban Kitchen and had an absolutely amazing dining experience! I tried the Little Veggie Burger along with the Kiwi Zitrone homemade drink, and both were exceptional. The veggie burger was one of the best I’ve ever had, full of flavor, and incredibly satisfying. The food was okay and my wife said the breakfast there was great, but due to the somewhat high prices and the very long wait, I probably won't be going there for lunch more often.

Very large and modern restaurant. The waitresses were all very friendly but a little overwhelmed with our large group. Unfortunately my food wasn't that good. The feta from the oven with vegetables was very small and very unseasoned and the equally small portion of fries had already cooled down quite a bit. I think unisex toilets are totally ok. However, for a restaurant of this size they would have to be cleaned regularly. Or at least more regularly than when we visited...

We were treated in a very disrespectful way. I wonder if it was because we have a different background. Personally I can't recommend this place if my mother and I want to enjoy the weather while being served by such a staff member. In general, very good food and drinks, however (for Italians) the so-called bruschetta cannot be called such. NON-toasted bread with tasteless tomatoes and "pesto" on top, a mountain of unseasoned salad on the side to hide the bruschetta. The result of the tomatoes on the untoasted bread was bread mush (felt like eating a sponge) Despite this, service, burgers and fries were impeccable. I would stay here again in any case.

We kwamen bij Urban terecht omdat we hier eerder gepasseerd waren en her er gezellig uitzag. Gelukkig was er nog plaats, want we hadden niet gereserveerd en met Valentijnsavond was het er druk. Gezellig zitten, heel vriendelijke en snelle bediening. We hebben hier lekker gegeten en vonden dir wel een aanrader!

The first time we went, we didn’t expect it to be so spacious, but we were pleasantly surprised by how many seats and different areas it offers. The decor and interior design are very beautiful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes dining here very enjoyable. As for the menu, the prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious. For starters or side dishes, we highly recommend the pizza pockets—they were perfectly prepared, and we enjoyed every single bite. Another standout was the avocado toast, which was flavorful and satisfying. During that first visit, we also discovered they offer a breakfast buffet, which caught our attention immediately. We decided to return specifically to try the breakfast buffet, and it didn’t disappoint. The buffet is available every day, with slightly different hours and pricing. From Monday to Saturday, it runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and costs €11.95. On Sundays, they offer the “Great Urban Sunday Breakfast Buffet,” which runs from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and costs €17.95. However, the Sunday buffet is so popular that reservations are a must—ideally made one to two weeks in advance. Without a reservation, you’re unlikely to find a spot, especially during peak times. When we finally experienced the Sunday buffet, we were impressed by the variety of dishes available. Although we had expected an even larger selection in a separate area, the options were still excellent, and the quality of the food was top-notch. It was quite busy, as expected, and we noticed that guests without reservations often had to wait or come back another time. Highlights from the buffet included the Frikadelle, which were flavorful and perfectly cooked, as well as the delightful pastry desserts. They offered as well a range of juices, which meant we didn’t need to order anything extra. For families, the restaurant thoughtfully includes a children’s area, so kids can have fun while their parents enjoy the meal nearby. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and we’re already planning to return to try more dishes from their menu. This is definitely a place worth visiting :)

A manageable but varied menu with delicious dishes, fast and friendly service that is also very attentive throughout the meal. Good gin menu. Atmosphere is appealing, but also quite loud when it is at full capacity. There is no cell phone network inside the restaurant - which is generally not a problem, but is problematic with call services.

I've known the Urban Kitchen for a very long time and I still can't get used to this color-inappropriate, not really nice graffiti. We were there yesterday and everything else went great. The employees are very friendly and accommodating. I hope the owners see my review positively. If the graffiti was done by their children, a new coat of paint after five years will definitely be welcome. Anyone with an eye for design knows what I mean by that. Really really hurts because the rest is set up appropriately. Best regards

We are thrilled! Because of the many positive Google reviews, we reserved a table for 5 people for New Year's Eve (short vacation in Heidelberg). The ambience was extraordinary and beautiful, the service was very friendly, attentive and quick (despite many guests on New Year's Eve). The food was a culinary fireworks !!! From starter to the main course. The meat was perfectly prepared, the food was fresh, hot and extremely tasty. Unfortunately we couldn't fit any more desserts.😉 The drinks were a great pleasure and with the generous selection we were spoiled for choice. We ordered the Urban Pizza Rolls, an anti-pasti starter plate for 2, the Urban Chicken Tandoori Salad, the Thai Basil Chili, the Extended Urban Burger, the Urban's Bacon Burger No2, Urban Fries, sweet potato fries and the breadless burger "The German " (see photo). We can completely recommend EVERYTHING! We say THANK YOU, will definitely come back and recommend this great restaurant 100%!

We were there on New Year's Eve from 9:15 p.m. Very well located for us as we were practically only a 3 minute walk from the hotel. We reserved the table via OpenTable and didn't know the place before. The pictures online don't do the ambience justice. It is very large, festively decorated with lots of balloons on New Year's Eve and otherwise very cool. The employees were all very quick, polite and in a good mood despite the full place. We had cocktail, beer, long drink, water, pizza and Thai curry. The food was very tasty and the portions were appropriate for the price. Cocktail was also good. Without a tip our bill was €54. If I lived in Heidelberg, I would be a regular guest 😊😊.

I love this place, it's my favorite to eat in HD. Cozy, clean environment with always friendly and kind staff (this time we were served by Fabienne, what a kind, attentive and diligent girl! THANK YOU). The service is always fast and the food quality/price/quantity is super satisfactory and recommended. I have never had problems getting a table but it is usually busy, it is better to reserve. The cocktails and drinks are also a 10.

Not recommended! The older waiter named Tobias was pushy and unpleasant. Sexual innuendos and bad jokes spoiled our visit. There was no consideration given to someone else's request to be served. Here you should think about who you let work on the guest and who you don't.

Ich habe einen Salat bestellt und war sehr geschockt, als ich beim Essen eine dicke Motte auf dem Salat entdeckte. Sofort habe ich die Kellnerin gerufen, und als ein Kellner kam, habe ich ihm die Situation geschildert. Er hat sich freundlich entschuldigt und mir ein Getränk angeboten. Ich habe zuvor bereits zweimal mit meiner Familie in Ihrem Restaurant gegessen, allerdings nie einen Salat bestellt. Ich habe den Eindruck, dass die Mitarbeiter zwar nett sind, aber möglicherweise überfordert wirken. Da ich großen Wert auf die Qualität meiner Speisen lege, erwarte ich für den Preis, den man zahlt, Sauberkeit, Geschmack und frisch zubereitete Gerichte. Das Restaurant liegt zentral und ist gut zu Fuß erreichbar, was es zu einem angenehmen Ort macht, um Zeit mit Freunden und Familie zu verbringen, besonders im Sommer, wenn man draußen sitzen kann. Dennoch denke ich, dass der Restaurant-Manager an der Essensvorbereitung und den Hygienestandards arbeiten sollte, um solche Vorfälle in Zukunft zu vermeiden. Mit freundlichen Grüßen
