We went there for breakfast on Saturday morning – the buffet! Excellent value for money. The service was superb – young, friendly staff who were professional and helpful despite the restaurant being full... and had everything under control!

I wasn't convinced at first. My daughter had chosen it, and I thought it would be very dingy. As an adult, you have different ideas about what constitutes a nice place to eat. But I was pleasantly surprised by the food, the atmosphere, and the very friendly and attentive staff. And although it sounds strange, the restroom blew me away. An absolute must-visit. Great entrance in the form of a rotunda. A fountain in the middle, surrounded by huge individual unisex restrooms. Fantastic!

We spontaneously decided to have brunch there today, just the two of us, and got a table even without a reservation. We took advantage of the brunch buffet and also ordered coffee. Together we paid around €32, which is perfectly reasonable. The selection at the buffet was fantastic, very diverse, and everything tasted delicious. There were various rolls, breads, and croissants, along with different types of cold cuts and cheeses, various jams, other spreads, salads, tomato and mozzarella, eggs, bacon, mini meatballs, pancakes, muesli, doughnuts, water, juice, etc. It was my boyfriend's birthday, and he received a birthday cocktail, which was a lovely touch. We would definitely come back.

Very yummy and creative dishes with many vegetarian and dietary conscious options. Happy hour (17-19) was an amazing experience and the drinks are certainly not weak!! The chocolate soufflé is a must get. The staff were also very accommodating for large groups, so whether it is a family or work gathering, they can squeeze you in!

A beautiful ambiance creates a special atmosphere. Incredibly friendly, attentive staff, both in the service and in the kitchen. Excellent food and drinks – whether dinner or breakfast, everything is perfectly prepared. The restroom area is something special: clean, well-maintained, and pleasantly designed. Dogs are warmly welcome, which makes the stay even more intimate. Many thanks again to the super-friendly staff for the great service and the culinary excellence.

The appetizer plate, currywurst, and vegetarian burger were really good. A bit loud, but conversation was still possible. The decor and color were a bit lacking, and the atmosphere was a bit bare, "industrial romance," but overall, it's recommendable.

Really really great food! But very expensive tho! They even got a diaper changing table (Wickeltisch) in the restroom.

[September 30, 2025] Back to the breakfast buffet today. The nachos were soggy, the eggs and baked beans were cold, and juices and vegan options weren't replenished in a timely manner. The restrooms were dirty and the floor was damp. Recommendations weren't followed up. The facade is nice, And then they add €0.50 when you pay!? Just improve and take these issues seriously!...

The burger was juicy and fresh, but the prices aren't justified. Unfortunately, the service is subpar due to the size of the place; the wait for servers is too long.

Urban Kitchen is a relaxing place to go with an assortment of menu choices that can please most crowds. My family enjoys going there for the food and atmosphere. Whether we eat inside or outside, the food is consistently delicious and the prices are modest for German restaurants.

Visit on September 7, 2025. The restaurant is very large, both outside and inside. There are also very cozy booths inside for couples or smaller groups. The service is very friendly and attentive. I asked for no ice cubes for the water and bitter lemon. These were immediately and promptly removed/replaced. I received completely new lemon slices (even more than the ones in the glass before), which was also an important sign of hygiene: the alternative would have been to fish them out with my fingers, which, of course, was not done. Furthermore, my companion's not-quite-clean knife was promptly replaced. We also received more napkins this way. The service was also attentive to clearing away anything that was in the way on the table; and especially, they always asked before clearing "if" and "what" should be cleared. Unfortunately, there are waiters who leave everything sitting forever...or—at the other extreme—take half-full glasses with them. The food itself was very good: we had two bacon burgers and a vegetarian one; they were really tasty. The fries were okay, but unfortunately a bit too soft and thin. The dips were delicious: we had ketchup and sweet chili. The restroom is clean and very uniquely designed: there's a sink-like arrangement in the middle, and cubicles are arranged in a circle. Each cubicle also has a separate sink with soap and towels, which speaks volumes about the individual hygiene for customers. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine; overall, it's a bit cheaper than comparable burger joints. In conclusion: virtually nothing to complain about, everything was good, highly recommended :-)

We have eaten at Urban Kitchen several times and we have been very satisfied every time. Whether with a group of friends or just the two of us for brunch at Christmas, the food was always delicious and the staff were always friendly and accommodating. We recently ate at Urban Kitchen with a larger group and everyone was happy with the delicious food and great service. Michi in particular looked after us really well, but the other employees were also very friendly and had a smile on their faces. We also really like the ambiance and we always feel very comfortable. We would like to continue to come back regularly and our friends and family, whom we have invited, will definitely come back in the future. We also regularly recommend Urban Kitchen to others. Great selection of vegan/vegetarian dishes.

We had the pleasure of having brunch at Urban Kitchen in Heidelberg, and it was fantastic. The buffet offered an excellent selection of delicious, freshly prepared dishes that catered to every taste. The location is modern and inviting, perfect for a relaxed brunch with friends or family. We would especially like to highlight the friendly staff, who always had a smile on their faces and provided great service. Despite the large number of guests, there were no long waits. The team was extremely efficient and took care of everything. We highly recommend Urban Kitchen. A definite must in Heidelberg for anyone looking for a delicious and relaxed brunch experience. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

I've been here several times. Unfortunately, the food isn't that tasty. The drinks are quite watery and contain hardly any alcohol. The atmosphere is quite nice, but I don't need to go back. The value for money just isn't there.

I was on 24.8.25 around 1600 in the afternoon with a group of Friends waited almost 20min to get the waiters attention even tho the Terrasse was not so Full of Guests!!!!! When I went inside to ask.. why no waiters is Coming to us ,l meet a racsist waiter tall slim half bold headed who Never even wanted to give me an ear, very rude Attitüde and respond …. If u are a Person of colour watchout the Treatments and Attitude towards u there !!!!!!

It was such a treat having Sunday brunch here! Probably one of the biggest buffets I've ever seen. Had some more international offerings like 4 (!) different kinds of eggs and baked beans, and a large variety of the more traditional German things like meats, cheeses, breads, Müsli, and juice. We sat inside, but the outside area looked great too. Servers were attentive in clearing out dishes and refilling our drinks. Would definitely recommend.

The restaurant has a nice ambiance thanks to the music and lighting, but the food is nothing special. It's worth stopping by for a drink, though, especially given its proximity to the city center. What also bothered me a bit is that the chairs and booths are a bit dirty. The upholstery is probably rarely cleaned...

Poor service levels. We went there on the 19th August at 13:30. The restaurant was not fully occupied but we waited to be seated. The waiter came by and took a group who arrived after us in first. We asked another waitress if we could choose a table and she said yes. She cleared tables around us and settled the bills. We waited for 20-30 minutes and then realized that she served other people who arrived later and ignored us. There was another waitress with a blue checked shirt who watched us and woke up the moment we walked out of the restaurant. It is a pity as I had an international guest ans this left a poor impression.

Here you can find something to eat for everyone, as the menu has a big selection. The food itself is quite good, but a little expensive. For some food items the portions are also small. It is usually quite busy and can get loud inside (literally over 100 people). If the weather is good, I would recommend eating outside. The waiters are very friendly, but also very busy (it can take some time getting your orders in). They also offer room for events with catering. All in all a good spot to eat with family and friends.

Unfortunately, I have to give it one star. We were there today and wanted something to eat! Since we were a bit early (at 11), an employee told us we'd have to wait about 20 minutes to order from the menu! After 20 minutes, another employee told us they wouldn't serve anything until 12! When food was already being brought to other tables at 12:10, we felt really stupid, paid, and left! Never again..........

Very tasty burger and fries with truffle mayo

I had high expectations after seeing the great reviews, but for me it was just average. The veggie burger was nice, but the pizza was underwhelming and I didn’t enjoy the drinks much. The vibe, however, is beautiful — the space is big enough for groups, and there are also cozy spots for two that are just lovely. Maybe the day I visited they were understaffed, but overall I left a bit disappointed.

Unfortunately, the service was very unfriendly. I only ordered a coffee and an orange juice. This alone resulted in an unusually long wait – and on a Wednesday morning, no less. The orange juice never arrived. When I politely pointed this out to the waitress – who obviously had little joy in her job (which was clearly evident in her expression and demeanor) – I was initially ignored for about ten minutes. I'm still waiting for my orange juice today – but I still "kindly" paid for it. The management should exercise much more care in selecting staff and not hire employees, especially special needs students, who display such a pronounced "zero-motivation" attitude. The tables were dirty, and there were rats running around behind the scenes (which is actually unusual for Heidelberg). It's a shame, because I really liked the atmosphere at first...

The wait for the food was a disaster: over an hour for two simple dishes. When it finally arrived, the food was cold and obviously not fresh. The service? Unfriendly, irritated, and completely overwhelmed. Polite inquiries were met with irritation. A smile was nowhere to be seen. Complaints were ignored, and in the end, we were charged for items we hadn't even ordered. The restrooms were also horribly filthy, with no paper towels or soap. The bottom line: This restaurant was a disgrace from start to finish. Save yourself time, money, and hassle; eat somewhere else.

We arrived at the hotel in Heidelberg and received several recommendations for places to eat nearby. Because of the late hour and the fact that we were a slightly large group, we arrived at the place. The place is spacious with a great atmosphere, they welcomed us warmly and arranged a table for 9 people for us. The place has a varied menu so that everyone had something to eat. The food is delicious, generous portions, and the service is excellent, including the prices. Before we left, we realized that the place also has breakfast and decided to forgo the hotel meal and go there. The buffet is very rich, with cheeses, cold cuts, sweet vegetables, yogurt, soda, juices, and more. The price is very reasonable, with a 50% discount for children up to the age of 12. It is so delicious that we also returned for lunch. The price does not include hot drinks, but it is still worth it.

The pizza wasn't particularly good, but everything else was fine. The service was overwhelmed and therefore very slow. We had to clean our table ourselves and dry off the rainwater.

We waited 1.5 hours for our food. As compensation, we were offered an espresso at 9:00 p.m. This is unacceptable. Only after we threatened to complain were we served our food. The quality of the food was subpar. The burger had a black patty and stale bacon. I haven't experienced such poor service and such poor food in a long time. The only good thing about the evening was the draft beer.

Was there today - if they replace or train the service staff, things will definitely improve.

Sitting on a beautiful outdoor terrace on a beautiful summer evening and enjoying delicious drinks and delicious food is a great experience at urban kitchen. About the food: The selection is extensive and there's definitely something for everyone. We had bruschetta and antipasti as starters. Both were really delicious, and the antipasti was especially recommended. In my opinion, the bruschetta can't be compared to classic bruschetta. It was served on rustic bread and, in my opinion, garnished with Parmesan and pesto. It was really tasty, but the bread could have been crispier. For main courses, we had burgers and My Thai. I thought the burger itself was well put together, but the patty was cooked a bit too long. I prefer it medium rare to keep it juicier. But it can also be a unique experience. Drinks: Great! Lots of selection, everything delicious, and fairly priced. Ambience: It's great to sit outside. Nice spot. Unfortunately, it's right next to a road and the Body Worlds exhibition. Therefore, only 4/5 stars. Feel free to eat here sometime. You're sure to find something you like :)

We went there for breakfast for the first time yesterday and were thrilled by the beautiful location. It's beautifully decorated and there's plenty of space. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast buffet was delicious. You can sit outside comfortably. It's a great place to relax in the summer. We'll definitely be back. 👍🏻

The food was very tasty. What bothered me a bit was that the iced pistachio latte didn't taste of pistachios at all; the crumbs on the foam were the only evidence of the pistachios' presence.

I was very disappointed with the "detox drinks." Apple-carrot: the taste was okay, but the portion was very small. A second one: lime-melon-mint: 5 tiny pieces of melon. I looked for limes in vain(!). Lime flavor? None! The drink was overly sweet: too much syrup! Is this supposed to be detox? A total failure!
