Turner's in Flensburg

Great little place. Fresh service and good quality although it's hard to rate a currywurst with fries 😁. The fish fritter sandwich that my wife had was reportedly really good.

We came to this restaurant on a recommendation and had never been to Flensburg before. The server was very friendly and asked if it was our first time, which we confirmed. The concept of this restaurant is small dishes (about the size of an appetizer), which you can order several of. After ordering our drinks and appetizers, we arrived very quickly. They kindly asked if we would like bread with our small dishes, which we accepted. Four small slices of baguette arrived on a plate. What they forgot to mention was that the bread cost €1 per slice. We ended up with a total of 12 tiny slices of bread for €12! That was the first shock. Then I ordered Mett (a type of German raw minced pork), and I wanted a second portion. The friendly server told me she was sorry, but they were out of pork Mett, but they also had it with beef. So we ordered the beef version. Unfortunately, they "forgot" to mention that this would also incur an extra charge of €4. So we were quite shocked to receive a bill for €129.10! Having to pay extra for bread in a restaurant is already questionable, in my opinion. But then €12 for a bit of bread is outrageous. You really feel ripped off... When we asked why the bread was so expensive, the answer was: "It's homemade and made with sourdough!" The food was really delicious and beautifully presented, but the fact that there was no mention anywhere that a loaf of bread also costs a pretty penny, and that we had to switch from pork to beef mince at 6 pm because the former was already sold out, and then had to pay an extra €4 without warning and at a price different from the menu board, left a very bad taste in our mouths for the evening. When we brought it up again at the end of our visit, we only received a friendly, "That's right, you could have mentioned it." No discount, no apology, poor service.

Very nice hotel. Friendly service from the staff. The rooms are perfectly fine. The only thing we missed at Christmas was a bar in the restaurant area; the "kiosk" at reception wasn't really suitable for us.

When you enter the Fördeblick restaurant, you immediately feel greeted by two things at once: 1. the staff 2. and the fjord itself And sometimes you're not even sure which of the two is more attentive. 🍽️ Food: The kitchen serves dishes that make you think: "If beauty could fill you up, I wouldn't need a spoon right now." Whether it's fish, meat, or the legendary side dishes with their "Oh-this-is-really-delicious!" effect – everything seems as if the kitchen has a personal agreement with Neptune: "We only send up the best!" The fish is so fresh you feel like it's waving at you. 🙋 Service: The service is attentive without being intrusive, friendly without being overly cheerful, and so fast that you sometimes think the staff have secretly been doing plate-sprinting exercises. The motto here is: "As soon as a guest thinks, 'I could maybe...', someone is already there with the perfect suggestion." 🌅 Atmosphere: The view of the fjord is so calming that you briefly wonder why you ever needed a therapist. Sunsets here aren't just beautiful—they're postcard material. You just want to sign them and send them: "Dear Grandma, I'm doing very well. Look, this is what peace looks like." 🧭 Conclusion: Fördeblick is more than just a restaurant. It's a little wellness program for your stomach, soul, and nerves—wrapped in maritime coziness and served with a smile that's guaranteed to be genuine. Anyone who's been there once will come back. And anyone who hasn't been there yet should urgently update their gastronomic bucket list.
