The 5* rating really says it all. The crew knows their stuff – the food is amazing, and I'm always so happy to come here! Keep up the good work! By the way, my favorite dish today was the prawn sandwich, and yesterday the swordfish. But I've never eaten anything here that I didn't like. The wine yesterday was really strong, but it went perfectly. The house beer is also delicious. But what's the point of ranting on about it? Give it a try, or just skip it (then we always get a spot 😛)

The ambience, service, food and wine was really, really good! Prices are reasonable. You need 3-4 dishes per person, I would say. The desserts were a bit disappointing compared to the savoury dishes, unfortunately. The flavours weren't as sharp and well-thought out. So, if I was to go again, I would skip the dessert and eat more of the other dishes.

Super nice - amazing food - no frills - top quality!

I was expecting cuisine that lived up to the name. Instead, the food was more like a Michelin-starred restaurant, with the accompanying small portions. The quality, however, was very good.

Great concept, delicious and unusual dishes, and excellent service. You can also sit outside in the lovely backyard. We had a perfect evening :)

A solid five stars! We really enjoy eating out often, and we also enjoy high-quality food. But we rarely experience such variety and creativity as here! There are no main courses… That's the theme. Instead, there are small dishes that change every twelve days, which are wonderful to share and enjoy. If you're ever in Flensburg, you should definitely eat here! The team was extremely friendly and very dedicated. Despite the large number of guests, everyone was in a good mood and everything ran like clockwork. Because some of the tables were larger, you automatically made contact with other guests and could see what they had on their plates. The atmosphere was extremely relaxed, friendly, and enjoyable. Thank you for this wonderful evening!

We spent the evening of our vacation at the Hafenküche. The welcome was Nordic, relaxed, and friendly. You can't make reservations here, but you'll always get a table (although you might have to wait a bit). There's no traditional menu; instead, there are small dishes, some of which change daily, that you can combine to create a multi-course meal. And they were truly something! The cuisine is of a high standard. In addition to fish and meat, there are also vegetarian and vegan alternatives. The wine list is well-stocked, and the wine recommendations were excellent. No matter which dish we had that evening, we were always delighted. Please keep up the good work! If only it weren't so far away for us...

Hafenküche Flensburg – where tables speak and the stomach listens Entering the Hafenküche immediately feels like a Scandinavian furniture showroom with a culinary upgrade: modern-rustic furnishings, plenty of space, and a covered outdoor terrace that can withstand even Nordic drizzle. Reservations? No way. If you want a seat here, you'll have to be faster than the Flensburg seagulls stealing fish sandwiches. It's rather difficult for large groups, therefore – unless you share chairs. The menu isn't tucked neatly onto the table, but rather like a work of art on large panels on the wall. It's written in a picturesque style so full of character that you sometimes have to interpret it rather than read it. Fortunately, the waiter is happy to come by, read aloud, and explain – and seems so personable, as if telling a seafaring tale. The concept: small, delicate plates that you assemble like colorful building blocks to create your own personalized menu. A feast for those who like to try something new. For the one guest who prefers "one bite" instead of "four bites," a large portion would be a nice touch. Prices are more in line with the "upscale pier" than the "harbor kiosk," but the dishes are worth it: modern interpretations of classics, where the chef brings out all the subtleties and serves them like small works of art. And yes, they look so good that you briefly wonder whether you shouldn't just feed your phone until it's full. The service: friendly, knowledgeable, charmingly rustic—but never more refined than the guest. Just right for a place where you want to feel at home. In conclusion: An evening at the Hafenküche is like a culinary stroll through the harbor—diverse, fresh, and served with a wink. Just make sure you arrive early enough, bring a moderate appetite, and a sense of interpretation for the table.

Great food, super nice and friendly; The current menu is explained and is varied and very interesting; All the dishes are superbly prepared and presented (eating with the eyes is a pleasure). Unfortunately, no tables for four people outside; our dog was allowed and it wasn't a problem at all (the treats arrived a little early 🤣🤣🤣). We really enjoyed it. Thank you for a very nice evening.

I was very surprised. At first, I wanted to eat a proper meal—a large piece of meat—but I was told we couldn't. We stayed—and we weren't disappointed! Wow, the best place to spend time, enjoy delicious food and drinks. The cuisine is perfect—small portions, several courses—everything was perfect! I'll definitely be back and will tell everyone about it—I highly recommend this place.

Great concept, great food, great people

From the moment you enter the restaurant, you feel welcome. The service is attentive without being intrusive! The food is an explosion of flavor in every bite. We haven't had such a good meal in a long time. We'll be back!

We've rarely eaten so well. Wow. Perfect service, too. We're thrilled!

Everything is just right here. Service is very friendly, attentive, fast, and competent. The concept of ordering several mid-sized plates one after the other is unusual, but it works perfectly. The food is the highlight, for me, very close to the heart. Surprising combinations, each one a true explosion of flavor with many different spices and very varied textures, always with a fantastic mouthfeel. Hats off to the whole team – what you conjure up on the waterfront is amazing – thank you!

It couldn't be better. The ambiance is rustic, the service warm and competent. The new concept is working: small dishes to mix and match, no reservations required. No wait during the week, and minimal at most on weekends. The menu changes, written on slate boards. We enjoyed it tremendously; the play with flavors and textures is well-executed, very creative without seeming forced. We'd gladly return.

The new concept of small plates is impressive. The food was so good that we went through three-thirds of the menu together. Each dish is perfectly balanced in terms of flavor. Service is attentive, but the wine list is somewhat limited.

Me and my fellowship was staying in the rooms upstairs of the restaurant for the night and decided for a quick visit to eat and leave the next day. With the great atmosphere welcoming us we got our table from the charismatic and nice staff we got our table. Started with the “Schaufflstück” and we were hooked, incredible piece of meat with the then risky choice of carrot cream (it was also incredible). Combine that with the solid choice of their homebrew, chefs kiss. Next up, “Merguez meat ball”. I was not the greatest fan of the cheese but with the melon salad hitting its sweet spot at the back the line of tastes I was sold. It struck me then that I was sad that I maybe never return. End the night with a 8 year old Barbados rum that had already been in 3 caskets and stored in the fourth at the restaurant. I went upstairs and slept well. Incredible workflow, great cooperation from all the staff. Cheers to the staff who had a friend who had a summer place south of Gothenburg. “It’s raw pork … it will not kill you!”

What we were able to eat here today was truly special. It's fascinating what can be created with familiar ingredients. The current concept of not having main courses and instead focusing on small, varied dishes is working well. This allowed us to try our way through the four vegan dishes. The prices are high, especially for the quantity, but we were rewarded with exceptional food.

We were there yesterday with friends after a great play. Six people. We are very disappointed with our visit. We wanted to have a drink on your beautiful outdoor terrace. We ordered two Johannsen rums with Coke and other drinks. Then, without any information, we got no Johannsen rum, but the expensive house brand rum, HK 4 cl for €8.60 plus €3.70 for Coke, €12.30 for Coke Rum... as well as a glass of wine, which had so little in it. Insane. We won't be back and we won't advertise it positively. We are very disappointed 😞.

We "stumbled" upon this restaurant by chance while passing through today. What a blessing, because not only Kalle (our dog) was warmly welcomed here. Mark did a fantastic job guiding us through the menu, and we enjoyed five courses from the small menu, all prepared with love and taste. The ingredients are high-quality, you can taste it, and the service is friendly and prompt. If you like finer cuisine, you have to make your way here, and you're welcome to try the rum on tap. We left very happy and wholeheartedly give it 5 stars ❤️

Authentic, exciting and very well-prepared food in a beautiful setting and great service. Lovely wines and a great concept with sharing dishes. It's no problem that you can't reserve a table, it gives a good flow in the restaurant. A great experience. We'll be back.

A must-visit when visiting Flensburg. We've been there twice and can highly recommend this restaurant. The concept of small dishes (similar to tapas) is also ingenious, and the house beer or rum on tap is simply fantastic. We'll be back next time we're in the area.

The new "small plates" concept is absolutely fantastic. So many options to eat different dishes. Each one is individual, delicious, appealing to the eye and the stomach. Everything is explained in detail and with enthusiasm. Fine cuisine in a down-to-earth, warm atmosphere.

A “flavor explosion” on beautifully presented plates. A "must" for every Flensburg visitor or local who wants to spend a nice evening with delicious food and delicious wine. We were there with our two children (teenagers) and tried "almost" everything on the new menu and were thrilled and full. The new concept was fun for us as a family when choosing the dishes and sharing the “taste beauties” while eating. We knew what to expect and are absolutely satisfied with the price and performance. We'd love to come back.

Exciting and definitely a promising concept: plate portions of delicacies. The selection of variants, which is manageable in the best sense of the word, covers a wide range of different tastes and the concept allows you to try things out! Friendly service and advice round off the visit perfectly with a view of the picturesque harbor! Always worth a visit!

An outstanding evening in which we felt more than comfortable with the new concept😍 According to the motto “The menu is up and down again”, we thoroughly enjoyed the food, as the kitchen spoiled us excellently and the service was attentive. The unusual kitchen creations were more than convincing. Special mention should be made of the potato MilleFeuille and the gyozas...exorbitantly delicious. We are already looking forward to our next visit and would like to thank the entire team.

We tried out the new concept, which has only been around since April 2025. That means not a classic menu with starter/main course/dessert and large portions, but more like tapas: lots of different dishes and small portions, so you can order and try out several things. To be honest, the mix of ingredients sounded very strange and I thought to myself several times that it couldn't go together. But everything was simply delicious! Our table of 4 tried almost everything once and it was awesome. There was something for everyone (meat, fish, vegan) and everyone was fed up. The staff was incredibly friendly! We were guided and supported through the concept and the team took a lot of time to answer all of our questions. The atmosphere was really wonderful and the food is unique. If you just want fries and schnitzel you won't be happy here, but I can highly recommend it to everyone else!

A new concept impresses with creative, very tasty dishes that change frequently. People like to order 2 dishes because the portions are deliberately not very large. This makes it a little more expensive, but it's really worth it! In addition, the atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant and the employees are committed and friendly. Gladly again!!

Wow wow wow! Everything was perfect! It would be unreasonable to visit Flensburg without eating at the fish kitchen. Modern, complex, fresh, and yet somehow Nordic traditional! In addition to the great cuisine with a small menu that changes weekly, the always smiling and attentive team makes the difference. 6 out of 5 stars!

Very, very well crafted food. Prices are absolutely reasonable. Update 2025 It's still the best address in Flensburg and the surrounding area if you want to treat yourself to star-level food but are afraid of the delicate and bony atmosphere of other shops of this quality. Here you can feel good and, above all, be full, which is not a given in restaurants of this quality.

One of the best restaurants I've eaten at so far. A combination of ingredients with a wide variety of tastes combined excellently. The service was very nice, courteous and presented all the dishes with enthusiasm. Price, performance, ambience and service fit together. When I'm back in Flensburg, I will definitely go to the harbor kitchen again. Thanks to the team for the lovely evening.

Es war wieder einmal ein Genuß. Wir haben uns jeweils Rinderbacke und Lammrücken geteilt. Beides war extrem lecker. Den Lachs zu Vorspeise wollten wir uns teilen, mussten aber noch eine Portion nachbestellen, weil auch der zu lecker war 😋.

Plates really nicely prepared...but price performance is way too high. Unfortunately Duroc was a bit tough. Overall, the taste wasn't entirely harmonious for me personally. Flatbread and pesto very tasty. Great staff!

Right on the water, a very good restaurant that conjures up a nice and tasteful experience with a good concept and great employees. A menu that you don't have to hold in your hand or use with your cell phone, is clear and regional.

Supernette kompetente Bedienung, die die Speisekarte sehr genau erklärt hat. Essen super! Das Duroc - Schwein war exzellent, ebenso die Vorspeise Marone - Ziege - Mandarine. Insgesamt nur empfehlenswert.

My husband and I came to the restaurant by chance on Wednesday last week. But what happened next exceeded all our expectations!! An excellent and very motivated waiter (Marc, greetings to you) presented the menu to us, like a piece of art - great👍!!! We decided on sensationally imaginative starters, swordfish as the main course and a vegetarian variation from the table! In short, we, who go out to eat very, very well all the time, were so excited that we can absolutely recommend this restaurant. It's absolutely star level - so creative and full of flavor explosions - sensational!!! If we lived there, we would come every week!! Dear team, keep it up, you're waiting for something like this, then go out to eat, endless joy!!! Bravo!!! Kind regards❣️

Wir waren jetzt zum dritten Mal in der Hafenküche. Und wieder waren wir sehr begeistert. Alle Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte waren perfekt und super kreativ. Seehecht auf Blutwurstcrustini. Darauf kommt man ja nicht unbedingt. War aber wirklich fantastisch. Absoluter Favorit waren für uns die Jakobsmuschel Tacos. Bei unserem nächsten Flensburg Besuch sind wir wieder da.

We visited Flensburg for the first time and, as always, looked for restaurants in advance that offered reasonable vegan food. The search function suggested, among other things, the harbor kitchen, so I looked at the homepage and when I saw that there was no fixed menu, but a constantly changing selection, it was clear that we wanted to eat here. Anyone who drives a concept like this is keen on what they're doing. Enough of the preamble; how was it now? Really good! We received a friendly welcome, the atmosphere of the shop is jovial, rustic, welcoming. The furnishings are rustic, but not musty, there is no music (but there are loudspeakers, so that may not be a permanent situation), but there is a mix of noises from animated conversations and clattering dishes. The competent (wines are known, dishes can be described, etc.) service was patient from start to finish, really nice, helpful and advising - even at the end of the main business, when fatigue sets in, time was taken Introducing and recommending us for restaurants for the next day (the harbor kitchen was fully booked). To eat: really good! I'll save myself the trouble of describing the dishes in detail, as they change constantly, but it should be said that flavors are combined and composed very well with each other - so they are not just "mixed", but remain independent, harmoniously existing next to each other. I have never eaten as good or tasty as I did here. The daily changing menu on the wall alone is excellently designed, the staff is incredibly nice and friendly, the atmosphere is very cozy and the food is a poem. Der Restaurantbesuch in der Hafenküche hat voll und ganz unseren Vorstellungen entsprochen. Es gibt eine der Jahreszeit und der Region angepasste moderne und innovative Küche. Die Preise sind auf hohem Niveau, aber alles in allem gerechtfertigt. Die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und kompetent. Wenn auch nicht jede Woche, so würden wir doch gerne bei besonderer Gelegenheit wiederkommen.

Wir gehen immer wieder gerne in die Hafenküche. Es ist das Lieblingslokal meiner Frau.

Das beste Restaurant weit und breit. Die Speisen sind immer sehr abwechslungsreich und spannend zubereitet.

I don't need to write much. It is every time and always: a poem. Every cent is money well invested and it's a lot of fun to eat in the harbor kitchen. The vegetarian/vegan options are great and everyone is always so cooperative that you never have to worry about going home unhappy.

Top, top, top... The gentleman from last night's service lives for his shop... absolutely recommended. And if you can't find anything on the daily menu, an alternative will be made. 10 stars!
