THE GASTRONOMIC "DINOSAUR" PRINCIPLE HAS SURVIVED — THANK GOD The Trattoria Toscana offers something that many other establishments now lack: excellent cuisine and, above all, outstanding service. In other words, it's what Italian gastronomy was generally known for in the "good old days," but is far too often no longer the case today. Therefore, the trattoria is reminiscent of a "dinosaur" in the best sense of the word! :-) How does this succeed? By owner Carmelo doing what EVERY restaurateur should do if they want their business to run smoothly: He's always present, always on the lookout, and even intervenes personally where necessary: ​​e.g., if a guest drops a fork or is missing a pepper mill. This is rewarded by the fact that the trattoria is "buzzing": Twice a day – at lunch and dinner – it's packed, and not exactly empty in between, which confirms the validity of my review. But the greatest treasure is the service team, who keep things running quietly (even singing loudly at guests' birthday parties) and unobtrusively. With perfect manners – so that I, as a guest, have the justified feeling of being the most welcome guest. Just one detail: Faster than I can say "A beer, please!", a basket of fresh, warm bread and a plate of olives appear in front of me as a courtesy of the house, bridging the wait. I've never experienced such a friendly, thoughtful, attentive, and always cheerful team, except in the odd Michelin-starred restaurant! (A truly good restaurant also requires a good internal working atmosphere. If that's missing, guests will notice it in the behavior of the service staff and feel uncomfortable!) Thank you, Gabriel, Mimmo, Romeo, and all the others! You make guests feel very well looked after. I've been a regular for a long time. We love Trattoria Toscana! Not only is the food very tasty (the mixed dessert, Vitello Tonnata, is highly recommended), but the service is also great, as the waitress is always in a good mood, so you just feel comfortable there. In summer we like to sit outside next to the fountain and listen to the sound of the water. All the friends, family and acquaintances we have visited this restaurant with so far have been very impressed by the atmosphere and the dishes. There are enough parking spaces here.

The food was very good, but unfortunately the waiter told the neighboring table without being asked that he was choosing AFD and that was totally right. I don't think that's the case in every respect and I won't be visiting this restaurant again and won't recommend it to anyone

We had on January 19th. Reserved and confirmed an indoor table online for 6pm, but when we arrived there was no table available for us. The waiter was extremely rude and annoyed and said we had to look around in the heated outside area. He didn't even ask my name. We finally found a table ourselves in the heated outdoor area, but after 10 minutes of waiting no one came to take our order. A terrible experience that I cannot recommend to anyone. We then left the restaurant and won't be coming back.

Ate very tasty (homemade ravioli with porcini mushrooms and walnuts, filled with spinach and mozzarella, with a cream sauce), I couldn't stop eating the dessert (tiramisu, pana cota and almond parfait) ... so delicious 😋, I'll be happy to come back. The terrace will certainly be very nice in summer.

You don't have to expect much when it comes to food. But it's also rather cheap in terms of price. The service is not very ambitious. The atmosphere is cozy, it's nice to sit inside and outside. Wine prices are fair.

Good Italian. Courteous waiters, very good and, above all, affordable food. A carpaccio for €12.50? Rare to find these days. Nice atmosphere with parking spaces in front of the door. Clear recommendation.

We were there with 7 people on New Year's Eve. The 2 menus offered for €49.50 were excellent. We thank you for the great food and service. We wish all employees and management a successful 2025.

We were very positively surprised by the delicious food and the cozy atmosphere. The staff was very friendly, but you have to take a lot of time and some additional orders (e.g. Parmesan with the pasta) were not brought. However, there was also a lot going on. We were also very surprised by the price-performance ratio. We will definitely come back.

In the past, when we still lived on Hüttenweg, this restaurant was our weekly meeting place. We had a great time here every Sunday - the food, service and atmosphere were always excellent. Unfortunately, since we moved, we only make it here 3-4 times a year. We are all the more pleased that nothing has changed in terms of quality. In this day and age, it is rare for a company to consistently remain at this high level for so many years. You can feel the attention to detail and the warm leadership with every visit. Whether it's the food, the friendliness of the staff or the cleanliness - everything is perfect here. We always enjoy coming back and look forward to many more visits. Very friendly and fast service, but also a good interval between starter and main course. It was nice and warm in the winter garden and a little quieter than in the building. Otherwise still very good value for money.

I have been visiting that place for about 3 years at least 3 times a month and I would recommend it without hesitation.

A nice restaurant, unfortunately the waiter didn't try hard and wasn't attentive. He neither asked us to use his high chair nor did he ask how the food tasted. After we weren't noticed at all and had finished eating 15 minutes ago, we dressed our children. The waiter didn't notice this either. We then paid on the way out. Neither a word of thank you or have a nice day, nothing like that. That's not how you treat your guests, we were there last time.

The service was very attentive, the food was very well prepared and tasted great, and the restaurant atmosphere was delightful. I had a lovely time and would recommend this restaurant.

We tried both the pizza and pasta, and they were absolutely delicious! This is undoubtedly some of the best Italian food I've had in Berlin at this price point. The staff were warm, welcoming, and full of energy. Highly recommended!

It was our first time eating here. A friendly welcome when you arrive. It is very cozy and well attended. I had a bit of bad luck with the roast venison. But the chef isn't there. Our service was great. You could joke and laugh. It was a successful evening.

We came to this restaurant in the evening as a family of 5 without a reservation and were quickly assigned a table. We then put our things down, received the cards and our little daughter was provided with pens and a children's menu. Suddenly the employee who had assigned us the table came to us and said we couldn't sit there anymore because he needed it for a group of 20 people, which was accidentally not entered in the reservation. We cleared the space and were assigned to another table, which actually only had seating for 4 people. They tried to convince us that the child seat could be placed between two chairs. However, this meant that a person would have sat in the middle of the passage with us and this would have been rather annoying not only for us but also for the other guests. We also made this clear to the staff again. Since we were not offered an alternative, we left the restaurant and were then served very warmly and professionally in the La Gondola Due restaurant. Apparently the prospect of income from a group of 20 was more important than behaving professionally towards guests who had already arrived. You felt complimented by it. Very unfortunate!

We've been driving past here for more than 20y and have only recently discovered this amazing restaurant! Everything from start to finish was amazing. Especially the staff is great. We went quite early at 330pm and the place was almost packed. Lots of regulars seem to come here too. I highly recommend taking the almond parfait Slas dessert!

Crazy loud, food was good. Unfortunately a reduced menu due to a large table reservation. As a meat eater, I missed dishes without meat or fish. The service was hectic and not very accommodating.

We were there with the hiking group and all 33 hikers were very satisfied. The restaurant is very busy.

Aufgrund der mauen Bewertung war ich skeptisch, als wir zu einer Geburtstagsfeier ins Toscana geladen wurden. Sonntag am Mittag, es war brechend voll. Alles war vorbereitet, blütenweisse Tischdecken, Dekorationen. Service schnell und aufmerksam, Essen und Getränke wurden hurtig serviert. Essen ar warm (nicht die Getränke) und sehr schmackhaft und auch reichlich (wir mussten was mitnehmen). Zum Nachtisch eine Gesangsdarbietung der Kellner, Tischfeuerwerk. So what, Das Toscana hat überzeugen können.

Top restaurant. Very tasty and good service

On Monday there were four of us in this restaurant, where I go back and forth. Even though it was a Monday, the restaurant was very busy - actually always very busy! That's why we reserved a table. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted very friendly. What I really like is this charming, friendly Italian way of dealing with guests. Somehow the Italians (South Italians?) have it in their blood?! And our waiter was like that too! We were able to chat with him very warmly and make jokes. With his broken German, we made “silly” things even more fun with him! What really surprised us was that this waiter came to us with a plateful of three different desserts, which we hadn't ordered! We thought he had mistaken the table?! While serving us this dessert, he told us that it was a house service because we were such nice guests! 👍🏻 And they were delicious! Even though we were already so full from the food, we ate them. I told my guests, "We have to eat them because they were a gift from the house, otherwise it would be a violation of the friendliness of the host!" When the cellar came to clear away our empty dessert plate, I told him, “Tomorrow the weather will be nice because we ate it!” Then he told me, “You can still lick the plate, but please under the table!” 🤣 Every time the waiter came to us, we always laughed, and very loudly! It was a really nice evening and we were also very warmly greeted with a handshake. been said goodbye to the cellar. I think the word "staff shortage" is a foreign word in this restaurant? Incredibly many waiters on duty! 👍🏻 They are quick, you are served immediately and the order came promptly! I would have liked to know a few more words of Italian! 😫 Maybe see you next visit?!

Lots of tables in a small space. The atmosphere and ambience were somewhat clouded by this. We weren't asked if we needed anything else, if everything was okay or if we would like to drink something else, as my glass had been empty for a while. I sat with my back to the restaurant. I would have liked a little more attention at these prices.

A good pizzeria in Zehlendorf. We have been there several times with colleagues. The service is friendly. The pizza and other portions are large and filling. The ambience is already set up. The price-portion ratio is very good. We can recommend this pizzeria. Unfortunately, cash is preferred when paying.

As long-time customers, we've recently had some disappointing experiences at this restaurant. On our last few visits, we encountered issues with seating and service that left us feeling unwelcome. When we requested outdoor seating, we were told only indoor seating was available, despite visible empty tables outside. Upon expressing our preference for outdoor seating, we felt the staff's response was dismissive and unprofessional. After eventually being seated outdoors, we experienced a significant delay of over 30 minutes before our order was taken. The overall demeanor of the staff seemed impatient and unwelcoming. We hope the management will consider improving their customer service approach to ensure all patrons feel equally valued and welcomed. A more inclusive and respectful atmosphere would greatly enhance the dining experience and better reflect the diversity of the neighborhood this restaurant serves.

During the summer, the head waiter refused to seat me even when there were empty tables, offering only take-away options instead. Today, despite numerous empty tables outside, he told me I could only sit inside. When I objected and expressed my dissatisfaction, he responded, 'You don’t have to come here.' After being ignored for 5 minutes, I was finally shown to an outdoor table. Our order was taken after 30 minutes, and it took another 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Overall, we waited longer than ever before. The service was very slow and disappointing

Excellent pasta, delicious pizza.

As part of the lunch menu, we tried 2 different pasta dishes at a very good price and were absolutely thrilled. The pasta and sauces tasted incredibly good, the meat was juicy and tasty, there was really nothing to complain about. The service was also top notch. Placed directly at the table and the service was pleasant. We will definitely come back and try more dishes. But the noodles alone are worth a visit! :)

Came here for the first time based on a recommendation and wasn't disappointed. The beef fillet (medium) in cognac sauce with vegetables and potatoes was very good. Tuna salad too. So here's to seeing you again.

Everything was great, only our waiter was very unfriendly. He snatched the menu out of our hands even though we weren't finished yet. Throw the bread on the table with the bread basket. I would go again, but sit at a table where I would be treated nice and friendly.

It's a shame, it used to be a pretty nice restaurant. But after waiting 20 minutes without getting a menu, even though the receptionist stood there and saw us and only about two-thirds of the tables were occupied, we lost interest. There are other restaurants with excellent hospitality. Ciao!

The food is reasonably good and pricing is OK. However, I didn't receive my pizza while all others received their food. Apparently there was some mix up in the kitchen. Received my pizza once everyone else was finished. Didn't receive apology as the kitchen was insisting I already had my pizza as starter (obviously not correct). When the bill came, the pizza was on the bill, no discount, which is ok. However, the waiter asked how much we wanted to pay, suggesting we should tip. My wife rounded up the amount not to be rude, I was already in the car otherwise this wouldn't have happened. Would have been nice if they give the pizza for free and apologized or something instead of asking for a tip after such poor service.

Fantastic flair, typically Italian - charming, humorous, stylish - just to feel good. And good cuisine too. Absolutely recommended!
