Typical Sicilian cuisine, first class!

Upon entering, the temperature was already sweltering, feeling like 35 degrees Celsius. The bread tasted like it had been sitting out for a week. The food that was served was either very small in portions or completely bland. Now, let's talk about the waiter's disrespect: He acted as if he were serving 10 people at one table simultaneously (there were only two of us). When we paid, we gave him a €2 tip, after which he ignored us and didn't even respond to my "Have a nice evening." He threw my change on the table. My partner said "Have a nice evening" again, assuming he hadn't heard, but he was still incredibly ignorant and rude. We spent almost €60 on food, and he gave a shot to the next table, who had only spent €40, while we weren't even asked. We will never be going back to this place!

I spent 65 euros on food, that's all I had with me, and the waiter made a huge fuss because I didn't leave a tip, even though I wanted to. That's outrageous! You go to a nice restaurant, and then the waiter ruins your experience just because you don't leave a tip. I paid for two people, as if we were four. And even that wasn't enough for them. They absolutely insisted on a tip.

Went for a meal with friends and was very disappointed. Terrible service. The staff simply stood around or attended to different tables and completely ignored us. When we asked for the bill it took 15 minutes. The food was mediocre at best.

Not only the taste but also the excellent service, despite a full house, was impressive. In the warmer months, the option to sit in the garden gives hope for good weather. The pizzas are an experience, even the salads are a feast for the eyes. Oh yes, the crema coffee is an absolute sensation in terms of taste and a very reasonable price. It's worth the long journey.

Comparatively very inexpensive. This inevitably reflects in the quality of the food. Pizza usually gets 4 out of 5 stars. Service is usually decent, always friendly. Very affordable lunch. I'd rather pay 1-2 euros more per dish and get better ingredients.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food has deteriorated significantly. Among other things, we ordered salmon, which had a very strong smell and tasted completely stale. It was inedible. The waiter was uncooperative. The pizza was tasteless, and the waiter had no desire to be friendly.

The food was terrible and we felt sick the whole night after. We ordered grilled fish with Rosmarin potatoes for 20 euros and we got a fish from the freezer and vegetables swimming in oil. Usually we are very happy with the place, the pizza is great, but yesterday we were very disappointed with the food, especially for the price. Don’t order anything else than pizza/ pasta, especially not fish.

The penne del la casa pasta was almost raw and unseasoned. And my lasagna tasted absolutely nothing, even though it came with bread. The service was okay. In conclusion, the food was too expensive.

Great food, everything freshly prepared. Even when it's busy, the service is courteous. The staff is nice and friendly, there's nothing to complain about. If there's anything left on your plate because the portion is too large (which they all are), they automatically offer to pack it up to take away. That's two years ago. April 2025: The bread basket was clearly already used, an empty mayo packet inside, and no plate with butter, olive oil, or anything similar. The asparagus was okay, but it was served with dark spots, all lukewarm with hollandaise sauce from a carton. There are better tiramisu options. The service is still friendly and nice, but with empty glasses and cups, they might ask if you want anything. 2 stars deducted. September 2025: Ordered food by phone, ready for pickup 15 minutes later. Great. Dishes were hot and delicious, and there was plenty of sauce (we personally think it's very good), more than in a restaurant. The salad was fresh and crisp. One more star for this today.

The food was good, but unfortunately, the pizza was very difficult to cut. Perhaps it was the knives, as I wasn't the only one with that problem. There was one downside: wheelchair users and people with disabilities are unable to use the restroom, as you only get there via a flight of stairs. Despite everything, the food was really 👍

Highly recommended. Very good food at reasonable prices. Very friendly staff, and they also offer a particularly good lunch menu. Reservations are recommended, except on weekends and holidays.

It used to be an amazing restaurant with lots of cool and friendly staff. But lately it's been getting worse and worse, which is a real shame.

We have been going to this restaurant on and off for years, but recently, the service has deteriorated noticeably. We waited ten minutes until any of the wait staff condescended to notice us. We were a party of 6, but this seemed to tax the capabilities of the staff. Our aperitifs arrived AFTER the wine we ordered to accompany the meal had been prematurely poured, our appetizers arrived at the same time as our mains, and, to make matters worse, the mains were taken back, inadequately warmed up and re-served to us. The food lacked salt, the "truffle sauce" served with cantarelle mushrooms and pasta was watery and the "beef fillet"in the dish was large, chewy chunks with plenty of cartilage. The waiter was overly familiar to the point of rudeness. We will think twice before going back to this place. It was once a really good restaurant, but something seems to have gone dismally, disastrously wrong.

I've been there several times, and the food has always been delicious. The service is perfectly fine.

We're used to more hospitality from other Italian restaurants; we didn't receive a bread basket for the olive oil beforehand, nor did we receive a shot of schnapps after paying the bill! That's pretty standard! The food and service were otherwise okay. The garden is nice and large and cozy.

I have to say—sensational. We had a pizza and the veal schnitzel with a small salad. The pizza was thin, super crispy, flavorful, and well-topped. The schnitzel and side dishes (all fresh and al dente! 😍 ) were also excellent. Very friendly service, a pleasant atmosphere, and excellent value for money. It's a shame I don't live next door. The food was only lukewarm and unfortunately had to be sent back. It was better afterward. The waitress was relatively friendly, but you didn't get the feeling you were welcomed warmly; it was unusual. She wasn't very welcoming. The food came quickly, even though the restaurant was busy.

Very delicious food, very friendly and fast service, who even pushed tables together without any problem. And very child-friendly. The children had barely sat down when, without asking, colored pencils and cute little books for coloring and puzzles appeared on the table. And at the end, there was a lollipop.

the food was good but the attitude of your staff are somehow off - they are not welcoming and not friendly. it seems that the custom should be the one to please instead that they’re will be suppose the one to please the customer .

I used to eat here often and was always satisfied—with both the food and the service. The food is still really good, but the service has unfortunately declined considerably. Yesterday I was there with friends, and we had reserved a table at 5 p.m. and wanted to enjoy the evening in peace. At 6:40 p.m., however, we were asked if we could leave at 7 p.m. We hadn't even paid by that point, and by 6:50 p.m., our table was already half re-set. This made us feel like we were almost being thrown out. It's a shame, because the food alone doesn't make a visit worthwhile.

Update: We've eaten here a few times since then, but the service has continued to deteriorate. Today we waited forever for the menu, then only placed a partial order because we couldn't keep up with choosing. This order was forgotten, and the next waiter came over to take the entire order. The pasta was okay, but the pizza was very blackened on the bottom! Our comment received no apology or offer of compensation, etc. They also no longer offer a shot of schnapps on the house. It's understandable that there's no tip for this; the change was thrown onto our table without a word. We'll probably take a break for a while, as there are several Italian restaurants in the area.

I often go to the Romana because the garden is a pleasant place to sit when the weather is nice. Unfortunately, the food has declined; everything is rather bland. What surprised me, however, was the red wine, which was much too warm. It should be common knowledge in a good restaurant by now that red wine should be 18 degrees Celsius. It's often called "room temperature." But that used to be the case, when houses/apartments weren't so warm. Perhaps the staff should be trained on this. I don't want to sound like a schoolmaster here, but I've heard other guests complain about it.

Yes! Consistent, good quality at fair prices for years. The service—even when it's busy—is always attentive and friendly. It's a very pleasant place to sit in the garden. If only the cutting knives were sharper!

We went to Trattoria Romana for a birthday dinner after calling them to confirm availability. They said it was okay to come at 11 PM. As we entered, one of the staff members looked quite frustrated. He didn’t let us choose our table and asked us to sit right near the door. We were only two people seated at a six-seater arrangement, which felt really bad and awkward. My husband was literally pissed off by this behaviour. Then came the ordering part – we had just received the menu and the staff member immediately started asking for our order. We told him to wait for a minute, but he seemed so restless and unwelcoming, with quite a rude tone. By this time, our mood was already off. We only ordered soup and spaghetti. The food was amazing, no doubt about that, but the service and staff behaviour were extremely disappointing. We hurriedly finished our food and left. Our birthday dinner was completely spoiled. It was really sad because we were so excited to visit this place after reading all the good reviews, but we regretted it so much. Though the food was amazing, we couldn’t even try other dishes peacefully due to the bad service experience. I probably wouldn’t go here next time. Also, we noticed the staff treating the couple next to us very nicely, while our treatment was completely the opposite. I can give zero star for service and staff.

Fast and hectic service when busy. Pizza was okay. A bit too thin and floppy in the middle. But that's a matter of taste. When you tip, there's no "thank you" or "I didn't hear you." After paying, the service moves on to the next customer without further ado. So far, okay.

A huge front garden invites you to sit and relax. Unfortunately, the waiters aren't all friendly, and sometimes you feel like you're not very welcome. The pizza I ordered was larger than the plate, but could have been a bit crispier. The truffle spaghetti was swimming in fat, which really lacked flavor. The prices are absolutely reasonable. Upon my next visit, I can say that the food was very well prepared, the portions were absolutely adequate, and it was truly delicious! We would definitely come back!

Normally, I wouldn't write a review like this, but I've never experienced anything like today. July 6, 2025, my girlfriend and I are sitting by the hedge at the fountain. At first, the waiter complained that he had to walk so far to get there – I understand that, but it was still a somewhat strange comment. Now here it comes: Long waits, the waiter's repeatedly unfriendly behavior. The truffle pasta was really greasy and had no cheese, but the calamari was a really great appetizer. When paying, I ask for a bill. The waiter doesn't bring a bill but quickly scans the food on the display. He says €75. I add a tip and think that's fine. Then I see €71.90 on the display and ask how much it cost. I only get a mumbled reply and am quickly fobbed off. So I adjust my tip to €75—which I think was quite generous, considering he originally set the price at €75. The waiter becomes aggressive and throws the card payment receipt in my face, almost knocking it off the table. He then goes to another table and kicks the chair with all his might. As he walks away, I hear a quiet, casual "Thank you." He was gone. My girlfriend and I went over the menu again and added it up. In the end, the actual price was €70.90, so he added a euro. That makes sense, too, since he typed in the price for the appetizer himself on his device, so he apparently added a euro. Dear Trattoria Romana, I've been to you countless times since I was a child. It was always a pleasant experience with a friendly atmosphere. But what was that all about?! I've had similar situations happen to me two or three times in the last few months. I have the feeling the waiters are only nice to you if you tip appropriately. And then they rip off the customers? Is that even possible?? As a former regular, I won't set foot in your restaurant again. This kind of behavior is completely unprofessional and should not be tolerated by either the guests or the manager. I'm very disappointed. It had been a really nice evening up until this point, but we're both shocked. Luckily, there are plenty of Italian restaurants nearby...

So, to sum it up briefly: The food was delicious. The store looks inviting with its decor, etc. But even when the store wasn't as busy, we still waited far too long to be served.

Our first visit to Trattoria Romana left us with mixed feelings. While the garden is truly spacious and beautiful—a real plus, especially on warm summer evenings—the restaurant was extremely crowded, which unfortunately also affected the quality of the food. The service, while correct, was very impersonal, almost "typically Berlin"—lacking in warmth and interest in the guests. The food took a very long time to arrive, which is perhaps understandable given the restaurant's full capacity, but it also puts patience to the test. The pasta Romana was a disappointment: bland in flavor, barely better than something you could cook at home. The pizza was dry around the edges and soggy and moist in the middle—unpleasant.

I visited this restaurant with my father on Friday for a relaxed afternoon meal. The location offers both a spacious indoor and outdoor area. Since it was quite windy, we opted for a seat inside and enjoyed the cozy, Italian taverna charm. We were warmly escorted to our table and immediately given the menu. The selection is pleasantly clear – exactly what you'd expect: not an overloaded menu, but a well-thought-out selection. The only thing that was a bit confusing was the drinks menu: It said "Coke (Pepsi)," but underneath it was "Coca-Cola Zero" – which apparently meant Pepsi Zero. No drama, but a little confusing. I ordered the Pizza Parma. After we closed the menu, it didn't take long to order. The drinks arrived promptly, and the pizza was also served quickly. It had excellent toppings and tasted truly amazing – exactly the kind of pizza that keeps you full for a long time. My father had the pizza fritti di mare, which was so filling that he couldn't finish it all – and that rarely happens to him! Around 5 p.m., I ordered a Hawaiian pizza to go. The waiter, friendly but with a slight wink, informed me that I would unfortunately have to pay a little more – before 5 p.m., it would have only cost €8.50. I didn't know that beforehand, but even €11.50 is perfectly reasonable for the quality. I also brought my girlfriend a Hawaiian pizza – unfortunately, it was a bit over-salted. Still edible, but not quite up to the standard of the pizza I had eaten there. Conclusion: Overall, the visit was very pleasant – delicious food, fast service, and a nice place to linger. Exactly what you want from a restaurant visit.

I'm giving it 5 stars. We've been customers for about 15 years and occasionally take pizza to go; like on July 27th, but on Friday the baker wasn't having a good day. We were disappointed when we got home... the mushrooms were completely burnt, too. We hope it was a one-off or someone on vacation.

The open red wine that was served with it was decent, but unfortunately, it was over 5 degrees too warm... Is the bottle stored by the pizza oven? We made a reservation, and when we arrived, we were ignored for ages. It took at least 15 minutes to get our menus, and we waited forever before we could order. The food was cold and didn't really taste good. The atmosphere was nice, but that was it. It used to be better there.

We are often in Romana. The prices are still cheap for Berlin. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has declined significantly. Many industrial products are used that have a taste that matches the quality of the past. As a result, we rarely go out to eat and hope that things will get better again. Very unfortunate.

You can sit well both outside and inside. The staff always tries hard, but sometimes seems a bit stressed and occasionally forgets an order. The food is good…but the desserts are really not good. The selection is small and the quality is really not good. The happy hour offer during the week until 5 p.m. is really nice, unfortunately during this time no bread and olives are offered in advance and no “nightcap” on the house after the meal. It's a shame, that's how you get the “saved” back. All in all a normal Italian with nothing special.

The scampi were beautifully prepared, the tagliatelle cooked to perfection, and everything was served promptly and efficiently. A delightful dining experience from start to finish.

Update 04/25: As regular guests for over 15 years, we had already come to terms with the changes in quality and staff after Corona, as around three very friendly service staff were still there, the great outdoor terrace was nice and, above all, the pizza in the larger area was great in terms of dough and taste. The thing about the great pizza was unfortunately disappointing for the first time today. The dough was flat as always, but not crispy, but hard and unfortunately dry (like a frozen pizza). Very unfortunate. Even if the Romana is still quite cheap, you should consider whether quality shouldn't come at a price. As described, we are a little disappointed and may try it again in a few months. From 2024: Very good pizzas and calzones. Pasta OK too. Salads become a bit monotonous over time. Service very attentive. Price-performance very good. Gladly again

Unfortunately not as great as expected... I'll start with the table reservation. We reserved a table for 6 people. When we got there, we were moved from the reserved table to another table because it was too big for us, even though we had reserved it. We ended up sitting at a table for 4 that was far too small. The waiters were there for us relatively quickly, but not particularly empathetically. The food was not served together, some still had to wait. The noodles flambéed in the cheese body were not flambéed on site, although you could watch the little show at another table. When asked, the waiters would answer this in such a way that they couldn't do it for everyone. But that's not justified for the price, and the noodles were in a fatty sauce, which made the dish very unpleasant to eat. The vegetables with the other dishes, such as the veal, were very hard and almost raw. But the positive thing was that the dishes were very clean.

For all good things they say walk an extra mile . For good wheel pasta this place is worth the distance . I have so much praises for the pasta . How a simple dish can be elevated with the right cheese . I dont think there is anything i can review here that can justify the quality of food here . So creamy and art like :) Simply visit because it’s worth it .
