I've eaten here several times now, at varying intervals. The service is always very friendly and attentive. The food—whether pasta, pizza, or fish—is always delicious and freshly prepared. For this quality, the price-performance ratio is absolutely perfect.

I think the restaurant is great! I can't understand any of the bad reviews, especially the ones that only give it one star and then say it was "okay, but not wow." That's incredibly unfair—that would at least be three stars. Anyway: The food is delicious, and the service is also excellent.

Quick service during our Berlin visit.

Had a calzone that wasn't very good, very sloppily put on our table spilling over almost onto my lap. The service of the waiter wasn't very good and he didn't seem to care at all. Wouldn't come here again.

Currently the best salami pizza in Berlin, and close to Friedrichstraße... and reasonably priced too.

We ordered a Buffalo pizza, and it cost €27 during happy hour. We were taken advantage of as tourists in Berlin. He didn't speak to us very nicely. He demanded a 10% tip in an unpleasant manner.

Pizza was simply okay here, not in my opinion authentic Italian (though I’m also not an Italian food expert). Had much better pizza in other places in the city, especially Neapolitan pizza — not worth the price tag in my opinion. Service was okay. The one plus was the pizza arrived cut in half for us (we split one margarita and it was huge!)

After a long day of wandering Berlin my wife and I came here for dinner. Absolutely delicious! I wish I could have posted pictures of our meals but it was so good and we were so hungry that there was no time, lol! Server took great care of us and the food was perfect! To the kitchen staff - thank you for feeding us! To our server - we absolutely appreciated you taking care of us as well! Totally unprofessional and rude staff

We sat in this restaurant with two people outside. We had just arrived in Berlin and we were with two backpacks. We sat at a table for 4 people so that there was room for our luggage. A waiter came and kicked us out of the table and offered us a table for two and brought a chair for our luggage. There was only one person at the table for 4 people at the next table but apparently that was not a problem. We had to ask for a menu because apparently the elderly waiter who moved us had time to kick us out but not to bring a menu. Two ladies sat down after us again at a table for 4 people but apparently it was not a problem in this case either. He talked to them and took their order before us and we were still waiting to order. So we got up and didn't order anything. Unfortunately we didn't try the food because this waiter didn't give us that opportunity so I can't rate it. His attitude towards us was not like customers but as if we were some beggars or street sweepers. If you don't want to spoil yourself the mood with bad service do not sit in this place.

Pizza is delicious and very large. Sharing is also offered. Lasagna is also very tasty. Primarily homemade with good ingredients. No cheese substitute.

Very tasty pizzas and great tiramisu+esspresso. The waiter who provided service nicely made us feel we want to stay longer and enjoy the tiramisu, although initially we wanted only to have a pizza. Good place, very nice pizza taste, obviously good dough&toppings.

Food was not bad , service was just so so. I didn’t realise the ratings were so low due to the forceful tipping until I sat down. The restaurant also have flies buzzing around. The waiter told me that tipping is not mandatory however when I didn’t tip and walk out of the restaurant saying thank you and smiling ; their face was so black , shaking their head and ignoring me. I knew ab it hence it didn’t bother me , just ain’t a good experience. I would not recommend it.

It took a long time to order, and one of the waitresses was very unfriendly and unaccommodating. The food was OK.

Food: Ravioli with ricotta and spinach were served in a "garlic butter soup" instead of cream sauce. The cook might not have had enough cooking cream or perhaps didn't wait enough to reduce the sauce. Also I'm very salt-tolerant, but the meal was quite salty too, so other flavors were left in the background. Service: very nice and calm waiter Atmosphere: very nice and cozy

Every aspect was just great, pasta was our favorite. Always a place to return to.

Relatively expensive restaurant

Extremely disappointing and uncomfortable experience. My friend and I (both Black Americans) were the first customers in the restaurant when it opened. As more groups came in (all white), every single one of them was served complimentary bread and butter — we were not. When we asked the waiter why, he said, “It’s because you ordered pizza.” That made absolutely no sense. Complimentary bread usually comes before you even order, while you’re still looking at the menu. In fact, none of the other tables had even ordered yet when they were served bread — so how could the staff know what they were ordering? What if they ordered pizza too? Then, a second waiter came over and told us we had to vacate from our table because it was “lunch time” and “other customers like to sit in that section. Like helloooo, “we were already seated, eating, and paying customers too — how is that acceptable?what kind of restaurant asks paying customers to move for hypothetical future ones?how are we not customers too? No one else was even waiting for the table neither was it reserved when we sat there. This didn’t feel like random bad service. It felt personal. It felt discriminatory. We left and won’t be coming back. -1 ⭐️

Delicious giant pizza. The kitchen is open to view. We had drinks from the neighboring table added to our bill, which shouldn't happen. The price/performance ratio is okay. You sit very close to your neighbor, and the path to the toilet is very narrow.

The pizzas are average quality and by no means authentic Italian pizza. You are paying for the touristy location! The place certainly looks fancier than what they actually offer.

Een zeer degelijk Italiaans restaurant. De gerechten waren zeer lekker en zeer copieus. En ook zonder reserveren hadden we op zondagmiddag nog een tafeltje voor twee.

Spaghetti aglio olio - not spicy, pasta reheated rather than freshly cooked. Carbonara - pasta as above, ham from the supermarket (not Italian, and I don't know why ham at all), there may have been an egg, but it disappeared in the cream (I don't know why the cream) I advise against it

Gluten free pasta - and very good! Pizzas are huge. Moderate prices. An excellent find. Pasta with salmon, a mixed pizza, a glass of wine, 0.5l beer and small bottle of water all for €66.

Ristorante nella media, pensato più per i turisti che per chi cerca una vera esperienza italiana. Il personale è comunque cordiale e disponibile. I piatti sono sufficienti, ma mancano dell’autenticità e dei sapori genuini tipici della cucina italiana. Nel complesso un posto accettabile per una cena veloce, ma senza grandi aspettative.

The food was super delicious. Kids even stated it was better than in Italy but when the bill came and the waiter demanded a tip all the good feelings disappeared. I like to give a tip when I want to and I was going to do so anyway but being pushed to do that destroyed all the positive feelings.

Forcing people to tip for minimum 15% while I just had a pasta quickly with no service was given! Food was just so so. Tipping is not a must here, why I was asked to pay for 15% while I said I only wanted to pay for 5%?

Nuestro camarero (que parecía ser el propietario) era competente durante la comida, pero las cosas dieron un giro cuando llegó el momento de pagar. Insistió en una propina del 10 %, alegando que era una práctica obligatoria y estándar en Alemania. Mencioné que en otros restaurantes alemanes siempre había sido libre de elegir el monto de la propina (incluyendo dar el 5% o ninguno en absoluto) pero él se negó a aceptarlo, respondiendo con un firme “No es posible”. Lo que empeoró la situación fue el tono despectivo y poco profesional que utilizó, llegando a hacer varias veces un comentario sarcástico de "mamma mia" que se sintió bastante grosero e innecesario. Es lamentable que esta interacción amargara lo que podría haber sido una experiencia de almuerzo muy agradable. Espero que esta retroalimentación ayude a otros a gestionar las expectativas.

Pizza was tasty, pasta and bruschetta were okay. The cake was delicious but you could tell that it had been in the fridge for a while. Overall I think it's a bit too expensive. The waiter also seemed annoyed to me when they didn't give a tip

Awful service. They force you to tip, they say it is mandatory, and are rude to you if you do not want to do it.

The owner started to be nice and helpful, the food was good however when the bill came the owner obliged us to pay a tip. And was upset and become really rude when we refused to pay whatever he wanted. Also he charged us stuff that was not specifically priced on the menu. The experience was good until the bill came, to go through the experience of argument I totally recommend to not to go.

Would have liked to eat there today. The atmosphere was also very nice. Unfortunately, after about 30 minutes of sitting there, we didn't manage to place an order because we weren't served. The waiter had the special talent of looking into the room without looking at anyone. Tables were busy being set without us being asked what we would like to order in 30 minutes. Even waving to the waiter didn't help. After half an hour we left. Therefore I can't judge what the food and drinks are like there. Too bad.

Food was very good, service was okay, overall its nice place I would comsider visit again, but they rob us with 12 euro trinkgeld which wasn’t mentioned. Shame on you. I wasn’t in a mood to deal with it but it is sad

Atmospheric establishment. As if I had been to Italy. We ate very tasty. The soups warmed us up after the rain. The salads were very tasty and the portions were huge. And of course the pizza on a gorgeous dough. The male waiter had a sense of humor.

Huge thin crust pizzas are served, you can see into the open kitchen. Extremely nice staff. The prices are adjusted to the tourist area and are slightly higher than elsewhere. We were very satisfied and can recommend the restaurant.

On a recommendation, we visited Ristorante Bella Vita with friends. It has relatively few spaces and it is therefore advisable to reserve. You can park directly on the street, but there is a fee. The waitress was friendly and even joked with us. The pizza cost around €18 and is really huge. In my opinion the pizza was really tasty. My companion wanted a little more sauce for the pasta. Overall it was a nice evening.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and the staff’s behavior was unprofessional. Unfortunately, they were not friendly or attentive when taking our order. On top of that, the food quality was poor – it was excessively oily and far below expectations. Additionally, the restaurant did not live up to the standards of an authentic Italian dining experience. Overall, it was an unsatisfactory visit.

Four of us were there spontaneously and had a lovely evening. The food was of a good standard, the service was friendly and we liked the ambience - only the TV could be left out. My pizza was okay, although I would have traded the considerable size for more flavor. If you are looking for an Italian restaurant near the Friedrichstrasse station, you can stop in without hesitation. (11/2024)

Authentic Italian vibe and menu. Homemade gnocchi are huge and soft and the bruschetta has a nutty, herby flavor that made it memorable. Lovely wine selection and the complimentary limoncello at the end of the meal was A+. Our server was kind and attentive.

The food was good and the restaurant is cozy, but our experience was average. They charged us €14 for two bottles of water, which seemed excessive to me. Then the waiter demanded that we pay the tip separately, about €10.

My team and I had a very nice evening as a small Christmas party. The service was excellent but not intrusive. The atmosphere was absolutely great because you were right in the middle of it all and could also watch the kitchen. The pizzas are huge, the pasta dishes are also decent portions but the absolute highlight was the rack of lamb with a parmesan crust - a dream 🥰🤩 It was my first visit but definitely not my last 😀 I love coming for a delicious Aperol spritz and of course for a delicious meal again. Authentic team, great food and friendly boss. Top recommendation!!!

Small, cozy place. My pasta dish wasn't outstanding, but it was tasty. The service was polite and professional, and the speed of service was OK, even though it was full. It's a shame that you can't order any pasta dish with the homemade pasta, but just a few special dishes - I would have gladly paid €5 more for my dish, if I had got the same with homemade pasta.

The worst and unpleasant restaurant. Bad reception and certainly racist. I waited over 15 minutes to be able to place an order that I never did because I was ignored by the servers. Some customers were even embarrassed on my behalf given their behavior. Other customers who came after me were taken care of. In short, I left this place preserving my honor. I don't advise.

I had one of the worst experiences / service in Berlin. - blazingly slow! - even after we finished, it took 15 mins for him to finally come to our table - pizza for lunch was 12.95 - he said 13 and on top of it without consent he even added 2.5 euros tips. We were quite shocked - drinks super expensive- a small glass of sparkling water costed 4.5 euros I would avoid this place , if we can. There are a ton on good places around .

The restaurant is on a side street off Friedrichstrasse and we came here by chance. Since we didn't reserve a table and it was quite full, a table was quickly prepared. The service was quick and attentive, the food was delicious and worth every euro.

I would give it 4.3 stars. The food tasted good and the ambience was pleasant. The waiter was extremely friendly and I think the prices are reasonable for Berlin.

Bij een tripje Berlijn mag een heerlijk diner bij Bella Vita niet ontbreken. Wij zijn dol op de lamsrack in rode wijnsaus maar ook de pasta Arriabbiata met scampi valt altijd in de smaak. Wij worden altijd zeer vriendelijk bediend en bij complimenten voor de chef komt die ook lachend even een praatje maken. Wij voelen ons een welkome gast. Dus tot ziens, we komen weer terug.

The food was very good and the service was initially okay. Everything was fine until we paid. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of tipping too little for Berlin standards. Then the mood changed and we realized our mistake. The waiter (an older, tall man) angrily threw the sum we had rounded up as a tip onto the table, saying that he had to give something to the kitchen and muttered something to himself. What I didn't understand. Unfortunately, when he gave it out, he miscalculated something to his disadvantage (€0.10), which he claimed just under a minute later. I was very surprised and taken aback by such behavior, which is why I didn't ask for another conversation where he could explain the mistake to me. Only in retrospect was I able to make sense of his behavior. My partner, her child and a good friend (from Berlin) were also very shocked by this behavior. In retrospect, I understood the reaction to mean that the tip wasn't enough for him and that he had to give some of the little money to his colleagues (in the kitchen, who really did a good job). And then he would rather have nothing and therefore wouldn't have any work sharing afterwards. I find that very uncollegial since he refused to tip other colleagues. It's a shame that such behavior still exists in the catering industry. So here in this restaurant it seems that only people who leave really big tips are welcome. It may be that the tips here are immensely higher than in the Westerwald, but it's not fair to show that to the guests who come to see our capital. Too bad, I'm disappointed. Unfortunately I can't recommend this locally due to this behavior.

Do avoid at all costs! The tomato soup of the day was OK. But the spaghetti bolognaise and cannelloni were bland and too expensive. Then a rude waiter imposing a 10% tip. And then 1 hour later upset stomach and intestins. I'm sure it's because of their food, didn't ate anything else before during the day.

Thank you Bella Vita, grazie mille! The food was copious and comforting, the terasse was calm and beautiful, and the pricing was reasonable for the area. But most of all, i give 5-star because i was very touched by the kind service and care of the waiter (it was his shift on wednesday 7th August, around 1PM). I shared the meal with my soulmate and my son (a little puppy), who were also treated with great care and my son never had a better treatment in a restaurant ever. Thank you Bella Vita, for being great, loving animals, and most of all, for this yummy and warm moment that I will not forget. Prego! ❤️
