Trattoria Salento in Hamburg

We met up with friends in the restaurant at the end of our trip to Hamburg. It was a wonderful evening. The food was excellent and the host was extremely friendly. He gave us a bottle of wine as a farewell gift. If we are in Hamburg again, we will definitely stop by.

We had a lovely evening in this restaurant. The truffle pasta was very tasty, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Overall, a good place for Italian food – we would love to come back.

Had a very relaxing evening with delicious food and super attentive service. Starters great, main courses great, Lugana always a hit. I can only recommend it, and would be happy to come back at any time!

The food tasted good, but the service was extremely unfriendly. Even though the restaurant was empty, the waiter asked us to either order something more or leave and the bill was simply placed on our table. I've never experienced anything like this before. If the store had been full, I would have understood, but it just seemed rude. Unfortunately not a place to feel good.

The food was okay and tasted good, but the behavior of an older man serving us, who asked us to order something else or to leave about 1-2 hours after eating, was incredibly unfriendly. The pasta we ordered wasn't exactly cheap and we haven't experienced behavior like that in a long time. The store was basically empty, which is why we didn't stop operations and there was no reason to throw us out. Unfortunately exactly the opposite of a nice Italian. @ to the gentleman from the store, we simply summarized the situation truthfully. As I understand it, I can drink a wine spritzer for as long as I want, there is no rule as to how quickly you have to drink it. What a bad host you are, judging politely seated customers based on how long they drink their drink or eat their food. Especially since it certainly wasn't three hours. They said “either we order something or otherwise we can’t just sit there”. That means ordering or leaving and that's throwing it out. In fact, we even tipped instead of just leaving given such poor service. You don't have to be a waiting room either, but creating the atmosphere of a chip shop with expensive food where you can't sit and relax after drinking and eating not exactly cheaply is not possible at all. How you deal with your customers here and how you write says a lot about you in a negative sense, you create the impression all by yourself.

We wanted to eat there for our birthday and were assigned a table right at the entrance to the exit and toilet.. I really don't understand how you can expect guests like that... but maybe some people don't care. After a lot of discussion, the three of us got a second place. The taste of the food was nothing special Service and ambience ok We won't be coming back.

Our absolute favorite Italian. The food was great, the drinks were great and the hosts were very friendly. We always feel comfortable here, have never been disappointed and are regular guests. There are not many authentic Italians in Hamburg (most are not owned by Italians). If you are looking for a warm restaurant visit and don't want to be disappointed, then check out Salento.

Simply the best Italian by far! And about the negative reviews here: no, my review, for example, is not bought :D To be honest, I just laughed my head off at these negative reviews and the incredibly good answers. You are honest and right! Because you can also defend yourself as a host. Why do you always just have to take it and apologize when guests misbehave? There are some guests here who “were otherwise satisfied” who never gave it a rating and then because they had a stupid day (and yes, they do sometimes) then have to give it a negative rating straight away. Well, typical of our society, focus on the negative, which you then have to pick on. Be grateful that there are still authentic places like this where real Italians make your pasta and pizza! That just makes you even more likeable that you react so honestly to the negative reviews here! You are great, make incredibly good food and are simply authentic! Stay as you are! You're doing great!!

a divine pasta parmigiana with truffles... that's really awesome... no wonder that chef Mirco serves almost every second dish "from a parmesan wheel" :-) a great Italian with a cozy atmosphere... we'll be back

I went to Trattoria Salento for dinner with 2 friends today. It was an evening of outstanding food and drink. All dishes were prepared to perfection and presented very tasty. The effort of preparation was complemented by fantastic service! Anyone who loves Italian cuisine of the best kind and very high quality is in good hands at Trattoria Salento - I can highly recommend this restaurant! Very tasty Italian food with a great monthly menu! Both the ambience and the food are great here. We have been there several times now and are always satisfied. The dishes on the changing monthly menu are particularly worth trying. We would be happy to come back at any time!

My wife and I really enjoy eating here. It's really cozy, the interior and winter garden are really nicely decorated and that creates a nice atmosphere when you come in. The outdoor area on Osterstrasse is very nicely set up and you can see the district all at once in the summer Enjoy the tables very relaxed. On our wedding anniversary, when we have something to celebrate or just feel like doing something good for ourselves in the evening: We actually always take dishes from the school board - starter and main course - and it was always very good for both of us and we were never disappointed . The service is absolutely courteous and always cheerful. Overall, this is our Italian restaurant in our neighborhood; in our opinion, there is no reason to want to change restaurants when it comes to Italian food.

It started so beautifully. Entry, aperitif and starter were good. The staff was on point and friendly up to that point. Then the waiting began! The first table that came after us got their main course (also with starter), then numbers 2,3,4. A service person said, “We don’t have our main course yet!” Despite asking, no information about where our main course was! Then the main course arrived at table number 5 in front of ours! We then asked for the bill, which came. But not a word of apology or anything. At least some of the drinks weren't charged. Sorry service is different. Something can always go wrong, but the way we dealt with it was beyond subpar! Unfortunately, there was also a farewell that should be mandatory for disappointed guests and did not take place here. We won't come back. A pity! No, it is not and was not bullying. You know the background and we can publish it here if you wish. Unfortunately, previous contact has shown that you “only” care about the rating and not real customer satisfaction. Again, very unfortunate. But it is like that…

Seeming somewhat inconspicuous. In winter you go in on the right at the entrance to the house. La “Mama” has full control of the store. Her husband is a temperamental, typical Italian. It's a cozy Italian restaurant. The food is more than excellent and has an equally good price/performance ratio. I know a lot of Italian restaurants in Hamburg. You should definitely try this one. Whether with your life partner or with your friends. I was always excited. Bon appetit!!!

We have been going to this restaurant repeatedly for several years. It's just authentic Italian. The owner is usually always on site and now has many, many regular guests! But I have to say that the best thing is how you deal with negative reviews! You don't always have to swallow everything and apologize and get on your knees. You are allowed to stand behind your restaurant, its concept and often situations are so distorted and lies that you as the owner have the right to clarify these things. Carry on in the same way, with everything! You are the best!

I'm used to something better from Italians. Pizza way too greasy. What was too much salt in the pizza was saved in the Bolognese, it tasted a little like mushroom and nothing else. The service was also not appropriate for the price/performance ratio, you sometimes had to communicate in English, you had to wait an hour for your food, while others who came later were served faster. The starter plate was delicious, but you couldn't miss much.

An absolute recommendation! If you're looking for delicious and authentic Italian food, you've come to the right place. My personal favorite is the Linguine Carbonara. In addition, you are always warmly welcomed, well served and never have to wait long for your food. No matter whether during a vacation or just because, a visit is always worth it.

Pasta Parmigiano - I ate it for the first time about 10 years ago and today I finally have to share my experience. Fresh parmesan pasta with truffles is a fantastic experience and pleasure every time!

Unfortunately, not a relaxing visit to the Italian restaurant. It was a bit like mass processing, before 8:30 p.m. it was only possible to reserve time slots from 6:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. for two hours. We then decided to make a reservation from 6:30 p.m. With a starter, main course and dessert, the time is very tight, especially since our main course only came 45 minutes later after the starter. Shortly before 8 p.m. it was no longer possible to get dessert because, despite written confirmation, we supposedly only had a table until 8 p.m. A discussion was no longer possible because the bill was immediately placed on the table and we were then immediately ignored. The food was okay so far, but the price wasn't at all reasonable given the hectic pace. Luckily, there are many other restaurants in Hamburg where you can spend a more relaxed evening.

Truffle pasta “From the Parmesan Wheel” was probably made with whipped cream. Splurging on a dish like that for €26 is questionable. Tastes almost like the photo looks. Whether that was a real truffle is also questionable.

Eigentlich wegen fehlender Gastfreundschaft abgeschrieben. Nun doch nochmals eine Chance gegeben. Unterirdisch. Platz für2 (reserviert!) über Eck an der Bar mit einem Stuhl im Gang. Dann gewechselt. Mir war der Tisch zu weit weg von meinem Platz. Kam der Chef: ich soll den Tisch nicht verrücken! Bestelle eine Wein und ein Antipasto Gericht. Er: Ahhh, NUR Antipasto (hallo, Mineralwasser und Pizza wäre gleicher Preis gewesen, garantiert ohne diesen abfälligen Kommentar). Trinke meinen Wein gerne sehr kalt - mit Eiswürfeln. Bestelle welche. Er: unsere Weine sind kalt genug! Hallo, kann ich das bitte einfach selber entscheiden. Zur Strafe (!=) bekamen wir nicht wie alle anderen Gäste Brot/Tarallis/Dip und auch keinen Schnaps hinterher

We have been going to Trattoria for about three years now and are satisfied every time. The service is uncomplicated and personal. The food usually comes very quickly and tastes very good every time! We recommend the Parma pork with truffle sauce!

We were at Mirco's again this evening and really enjoyed the courteous service and the delicious food. The pasta with truffles is particularly delicious. Mirco tosses the pasta in the cheese and slices a lot of black truffle without using any flavorings. Thank you. The wine is a recommendation. Absolutely reasonable in price.

Wir sind auf Empfehlung von Freunden hergekommen. Leider können wir das Restaurant NICHT weiter empfehlen: das Essen kam lauwarm (Pasta). Und als wir am Ende nachfragten, ob die Pizza unserer Tochter eingepackt werden könne, wurde uns nur Alufolie auf den Tisch geklatscht, mit dem Kommentar, wir können sie uns ja selber einpacken „So viel Service gibt es hier nicht!“. Habe so etwas noch nie erlebt! Als wir diese Punkte am Ende anmerken, war der Kollege leider auch nicht wirklich kritikfähig. Absolutes No Go, wir werden hier nie wieder herkommen!!! Auch qualitativ war das italienische Essen leider nur sehr mittelmäßig. Schade!

Unglaublich leckeres Essen. Die Trüffelnudeln war himmlisch und ich habe bisher noch nie so leckere Nudeln gegessen. Auch der Büffelmozzarella und die Crème brûlée waren super lecker. Service war auch italienisch authentisch und sehr freundlich. Immer wieder gern.

Toller, klassischer Italiener mit hervorragender Auswahl und einer großen Tageskarte. Sehr herzliche Inhaber und absolut freundlicher Service. Ob Pizza, Pasta, Gemüse, Fisch oder Fleisch: alles auf den Punkt und absolut zu empfehlen!

Noch unhöflicher kann man nicht mehr begrüßt werden. Auf die Frage "haben sie einen Tisch für zwei" kam nur eine pampige Antwort: "ich kann nur eins zur Zeit". Uns wurde ein Tisch draußen angeboten, bei Regen. Das Restaurant war auch nicht voll. Der Service ist unhöflich und forsch und wir haben nicht dort gegessen. Keine Empfehlung!

Sehr leckeres Essen und wunderbarer Service

Trattoria Salento ist immer wieder einen Besuch wert. Man wird nett empfangen, das Ambiente ist schlicht italienisch und angenehm und das Essen ist jedesmal von Vorspeise über den Hauptgang bis zum Dessert ein Gedicht. Dazu gibt es guten Wein 🍷 Mit einem leckeren Limoncello schließt man ab und freut sich über ein tolles Erlebnis kulinarischer Art.

Typisch italienisch mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Allerdings etwas teuer ca 15 Euro für eine Pizza Margherita ist schon eine Hausnummer.

Great food on the whole, with a very extensive Menu; I felt spoiled for choice. Main courses were very tasty, well cooked (lamb fillet, medium done) and very nicely composed. Tried a sharing plate for starters, which was nice as you'd expect (but not overwhelming). Very friendly and attentive service. Popular with locals. Highly recommended.

Sehr guter Italiener. Preise dementsprechend, dennoch völlig ok. Sind immer voll und Ausgebucht. Rechtzeitig reservieren, spontan kann allerdings auch was frei sein innerhalb der Woche. Ambiente sehr Originell mit großer Auswahl an Speisen. Wir hatten Vorspeise, Hauptgang und Nachtisch. Weinauswahl kann sich sehen lassen. Nachteil Parkplätze in der Umgebung nur mit Parkuhr 3€ die Stunde schon nicht günstig.

Sehr gutes Essen, in einer sehr gemütlichen Atmosphäre. Die Jakobsmuscheln mit Trüffel sind ein ausgezeichneter Happen. Die Preise sind normal für die Stadt, und der Service sehr professionell und schnell. Wir werden wiederkommen.

Service lieb! Essen leider das schlechteste was ich seit 30 Jahren hatte...! Sorry - das ist IIaliener auf 80'er Niveau Weißwein super gekühlt, Aperol Spritz sehr gut & Rotwein gut, wenn auch nicht aus dem Temperier- Schrank für 60€ Essen kannste vergessen..! Sorry again

Ambiente ist tipico Eppendorf eh ma dai che pena la Teig Della pizza non è luftoso abbastanza , gusto è bene, ma realmente italiano.... isch weiss nicht .. eine Pizza come in Vero Salento ist das hier nischt tutto in tutto 3 Stelle :) ich habe fertig Update: in puncto Toiletten, der Weg ist das Ziel ich erhöhe daher auf 4 Stelle, va bene è tutto ragazzi CI vediamo update2: Tiramisu benissimo gustoso magnificente , daher 4 Stelle meritato bene!
