Very good pizza of very good quality.

We went to Ciao Ana from Hanover today with our friends from Hamburg. It was incredibly delicious, and the friendly, young staff were simply welcoming. You feel very comfortable. We'll definitely be back.

Pretty expensive. And the spaghetti olio et aglio had chili peppers in it—which weren't listed (maybe I missed it). In any case, it was extremely hot; I could barely eat it. And every other main course started at €17... 😞

We had a great meal here. The lasagna, pizzas, and spaghetti were all delicious. The staff is very polite, and the kids even received sweets at the end. Highly recommended!

Food and service good - minor language problems.

We (4 adults, 4 children) spontaneously stopped by Ciao Ana (October 13, 2025, 7 p.m.). We received a warm welcome outside and were offered a table because it was full. Since we preferred to sit inside, the lady immediately attended to us and told us that a table would be available in about 10 minutes. We were able to order during that time because the menus had already been brought to us. 10 minutes later, it was finally served. We were thrilled with everything and would definitely come back. The service and the food were excellent. The portions are designed for those with a big appetite 😉 We wish the team all the best and see you next time.

Today was the first time, but certainly not the last! My husband hasn't been a fan of Italian cuisine...until now! I spontaneously surprised him because I'd wanted to go to Ana for a while and luckily I got a table without booking. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the food was amazing. Thank you to the team—we're already looking forward to the next time 😋😋😋

After a disappointing experience at the Brazilian restaurant down the street, we found exactly what we were hoping for for a lovely evening with friends at Via Toselli in the Portuguese Quarter: hospitality, warmth, and great food. We received a warm welcome as soon as we arrived. Although the table was rather narrow, the team immediately made room so that the large, generous portions all fit perfectly on the table. The service was attentive, fast, and witty – we simply felt welcome. We ordered pizza bread, spaghetti vongole, another pasta dish, insalata burrata, and carpaccio di manzo. Everything was fresh, delicious, and very generously portioned. The house wine was also excellent – ​​fruity, pleasant, and absolutely fair in price. What was particularly nice was sitting outside, eating in peace, chatting, and observing life in the Portuguese Quarter. Pure Italian lifestyle – right in the heart of Hamburg! A heartfelt thank you to the entire team, and especially to the kitchen crew, for this wonderful evening, which immediately made us forget the negative experience before. An absolutely wonderful evening at Ciao Ana! The location in the heart of the Portuguese Quarter is simply perfect – wonderfully quiet and relaxed, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. You immediately feel at home. But the absolute highlight was the food! The Frutti di Mare was divine. I've rarely eaten such fresh and flavorful mussels and prawns. You immediately notice that only the highest quality is served here. The service was also top-notch – attentive, friendly, and unobtrusive. Ciao Ana is definitely an insider tip for anyone who wants to enjoy excellent Italian cuisine in a beautiful setting.

We had pasta. Excellent. The portion was absolutely sufficient. Freshly prepared. A bit more expensive, but that's the way it is everywhere in this part of town.

If you've ever had good pizza in Italy or at great restaurants like Pizzaioilo, ul. Krucza 16/22, 00-526 Warsaw, Poland, don't visit this place. The food was awful, and the staff was offended after we returned the carbonara, which was very salty. I encourage you to learn from the best.

The service is very good. The pizza is huge and serves way more than you'd expect. The quality is good, but not great. It's a shame that two people aren't allowed to eat a pizza. So, we ate half of it three times and took the rest home.

First of all, the staff was very quick and friendly. You can tell they're from the city. I ate baked penne myself, and it was bland and boring. Given the price, I would have expected something different. The second thing that bothered me was that if someone wanted to eat with me, they charged me 9.99. This isn't entirely understandable for a huge pizza, and it's extortionate. However, the reviews speak for themselves: you can definitely eat there.

The pizzas arrived very quickly and tasted impeccable. Problem: The pizzas are gigantic (see pictures), and a sharing plate costs an additional €10, and smaller pizzas are only available for children up to 12 years old. So, you have the choice between 1) overpriced or 2) food waste.

Great pizza, very attentive service. Unfortunately, the seating is a bit cramped, but that's the case everywhere in this area. I'll be back.

My number one in Hamburg. I've eaten there every time I'm on vacation. I've never been disappointed. The pizzas are huge and all incredibly delicious. The saltimbocca is also sensational. It's anything but your average tourist spot; it really doesn't deserve that label. I'm a trained chef myself, and I can't do any better. My top recommendation👍🏻

The espresso bar next door was closed, and we had the nerve to order two coffees at 2:00 PM. We were promptly told that we could only stay for 30 minutes. Very understandable, considering we were there during rush hour and the place was 90% empty... The coffees and the pizza we ordered afterward were very good; that's to be expected given the prices (€12 for the kids' pizza). The atmosphere is okay, but there's really little room to walk around. And the (sparkling clean) urinals in the men's restroom are so close together that the middle one squirted out when I flushed and hit my pants/leg. Thank you so much for that! Overall, it was such a great experience that we definitely won't be back and strongly advise against going there (although the pizza and coffee were really good).

Meine Tochter hatte eine Pizza, meine Frau hatte gefüllte, hausgemachte Tortellini und bei mir war es die Grillfischplatte. Als Vorspeise hatten wir Bruchetta. Die Aufmachung, die Qualität des Essens und der Geschmack waren hervorragend. Wir können eine klare Empfehlung dafür aussprechen. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis passt super.

This restaurant is a must-visit when visiting Hamburg. It's incredibly delicious and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They're happy to take photos, and the place is artistically beautiful.

I deliberately chose this restaurant and was not disappointed. The decor, the staff, and the food are simply fantastic. My daughter had a pizza, my wife had stuffed, homemade tortellini, and I had the grilled fish platter. We had bruschetta for starters. The presentation, the quality of the food, and the taste were outstanding. We can definitely recommend it. The value for money is excellent.

I went there spontaneously to eat pizza. It was the day we were arriving. My grandchild was hungry and didn't feel like walking, so I hadn't looked at any reviews beforehand. There were hardly any tables occupied and there were plenty of staff. But because we didn't know straight away what we wanted, we were ignored for ages. I had to keep signaling to someone. First they bring you the wrong drink, then you wait a full 10 minutes to get the right one. Then they bring me the wrong pizza. By the time I got mine, my grandchild had finished eating. Even when I wanted to pay, there was no waiter to tell our waiter that I wanted to pay. They were constantly hidden behind the pillars. If I had been alone, I would have gotten up and left right at the start. I can't recommend this restaurant. I would have given the pizza only 2.5* if it were possible.

Only one waiter made us feel welcome today. Otherwise, the interaction was rather unpleasant. It took a long time before we could place an order, even though there were no other customers there (the place had just opened). The pizza was enormous, and what you could see under the mountain of arugula was quite tasty, but the insalata arugula was a complete disappointment: just plain arugula, undressed and dry, probably not washed as it was a bit gritty, with four halved cherry tomatoes and Parmesan cheese. All we could think was, 'We're not goats.' 3.20 for 0.2 liters of still water is pretty steep.

We've had some very good meals here several times. Sometimes it's hard to get a table. But this time it wasn't a problem. The large open windows and shade make dining pleasant, even in high temperatures. The service is friendly and prompt. The quality of the food is really good, and the menu is extensive. We highly recommend Ciao Ana.

I will never understand why a restaurant will chose to spoil a reasonable meal at the end when they bring the bill. Moreover, I do not understand being dishonest in dealing with customers to gain just a few more Euro. I went to Ciao Ana this evening. I was interested in the spaghetti with vongole, but I wanted to confirm that vongole was clams. I knew that it was in Italian, but I didn’t know if it was something else in German. He said “I don’t speak English”, which is fine, but he made no effort to find someone for me. At the time, I assumed there was no one. I was wrong. He walked away. Seconds later, I wanted to order, but he was busy chatting, and I mean chatting (and laughing) with another table. I HATE being that customer who waves my hand, but I had no choice. I needed to eventually do so and got his attention. The other tables were laughing along with me at the absurdity of the situation. I then ordered, pointing to the food and drink I wanted, the past and mineral water. The food was fine, nothing special but not bad either. As for the water, I barely drank any, honestly, so I put the rest in my plastic bottle so I wouldn’t waste it. Finally, the bill came out. The bill was for a larger bottle than I had ordered. I complained. The waiter proceeded to give me every excuse he could think of as to why I should be charged for the larger water. For this conversation, he brought out a translator, lol: 1). “You drank it.” I pointed out that I had not and that I poured it into my bottle so as not to waste it. I offered to pour it back. 2) “We made a mistake.” “You should not expect a customer to pay for your mistake.” 3). “You should have told us you didn’t want the larger bottle.” “I didn’t know that it wasn’t the size I ordered. I didn’t check the label when you brought it.” 4). NOW, the truth comes out…”We only have the larger bottle, so that’s what we brought.” Then the smaller bottle should be removed from their menu rather than deceiving customers. We fought for awhile, but they eventually told me to pour the water back (petty) and adjusted the bill. The cost was only a few euro, but it also was for them. Actually, the cost to them was far less. In the end, they should simply be more honest in their dealings with customers.

Very tasty, and the food arrived extremely quickly. There were 14 of us here, but we were seated at three tables slightly apart, and we received our food at each table. You just have to know and like that. I think it might be worth discussing with the staff beforehand if you actually want to eat together.

Wir waren an einem stark besuchten Samstag Abend da, hatten auch vorher für 7 Personen reserviert. Der Service war trotz der starken Auslastung jederzeit kompetent und schnell. Alle bestellten Speisen und Getränke kamen superschnell und waren auch exzellent angerichtet. Auch Nachbestellungen wurden schnell gebracht. Rundum ein gelungener Abend und ein toller Service. Ein sehr authentischer Italiener im Portugiesenviertel. Auch unser 5 Jahre altes Familienmitglied wurde liebevoll umsorgt. Vielen Dank!

Where do I begin... Simply great. We were in Hamburg over the weekend, and since the kids wanted pasta, we found you while strolling around the Portuguese Quarter. After a short three-minute wait, we got a spot outside for five people. I should mention that it was Saturday night, we didn't have a reservation, and the restaurant was completely full. So we sat down and ordered a drink. The entire staff was friendly and quick. The food came quickly, was hot, and very, very tasty. The pizza was huge, and the pasta portion (spaghetti Napoli & Bolognese, tagliatelle with beef and chanterelle mushrooms) was also very generous. It started to rain briefly, but that wasn't a problem for the blinds, as we stayed dry. On Sunday, we were back in the area and thought we'd go there again. It wasn't as busy as the day before, which was probably due to the time of day. And on the second day, everyone was super friendly, attentive, and very prompt. This time, we treated ourselves to appetizers (pizza bread, WARNING: huge and addictive, and bruschetta), which were fantastic. If I lived in Hamburg, I'd definitely go there once a week. Kudos to the whole team, keep up the good work :) PS: I don't have any photos, I was too distracted by the food :)

We spontaneously strolled through the Portuguese Quarter and were more in the mood for something Italian. We were assigned a place relatively quickly. The waitresses were lively, friendly, authentic, the food came quickly and was very tasty. We had a great time and recommend it without hesitation :)

We were looking for a restaurant for dinner and found it here. Despite the restaurant being very full, we didn't have to wait long and got a table quickly. After ordering, we didn't have to wait long until the drinks and ultimately the food arrived. The staff is super nice and funny. If you don't expect an ultra luxury ambience, you won't be disappointed here. 5/5 Gladly again

We happened to be at Ciao Ana and that was a stroke of luck. The starter was white bread with garlic dip. Delicious and large pizzas. Great service and the best Peroni on tap. :-)

One of my worst dining experiences. We were four people, ordered four drinks and three large pizzas. But apparently, sharing is a crime here, because the head waitress threw a fit and demanded an extra 3€. Absolute joke. Spend your money somewhere that actually values customers, not chairs.

We were totally thrilled! Despite the restaurant being full, the staff was attentive and polite. The pizza is huge and worth the money. The salad with fresh tuna and not canned tuna was also convincing. The drinks are fairly priced. The outside area has sun all day, a lovely place. Sitting people down at a table of 6 is completely fine and sometimes very communicative. Ciao Ana is highly recommended, Bella Italia in the Portuguese Quarter.

Opening hours here seem to be set spontaneously: the website says 11:30 a.m., Google says 1 p.m. If you're then turned away with a wedding party despite having a reservation with the explanation "We don't open until 2 p.m.", something is clearly wrong. What a pity.

We accidentally found this really great Italian restaurant in the Portuguese Quarter. The pizzas, which felt the size of a wagon wheel, were excellent. Wafer-thin dough, fresh ingredients and the food was there less than 15 minutes after ordering. We'll definitely be back!

So I reserved a table at lunchtime, received a reservation confirmation and asked again by phone whether it had worked. Yes, everything worked out until later, said the young lady on the phone… at the door of the restaurant did you make a reservation? Yes! If there's nothing, you can't let it in. Hello? It's still okay... and then in a very rude way, you just close the door and say goodbye. Cheeky, unfriendly and unreliable! Never again !!!!

Great food, great ambience, great service. We received a very friendly welcome and spontaneously got a table for two, which made us very happy since it was a Saturday evening. The waitress was always nearby and very attentive. We had two pizzas and one tiramisu. The pizza was very tasty and the tiramisu was heavenly.
