Trattoria Campo da Franco in Hamburg

Our visit to the restaurant began with a very friendly welcome, even though they couldn't find our reservation. The ambiance transported us to Italy, and the service was so warm and informal, even though it was our first time there. We seem to have discovered a new local. The food was so incredibly good that I was literally speechless with joy. The pizza with vitello tonnato was very creative and tasted like Italy. My spaghetti all'Amatriciana was sensational! I've never had better, in or outside of Italy. The tiramisu with limoncello was also breathtaking. I can't praise the quality of the food and the hospitality enough. Grazie e a presto!!

A real recommendation! The four of us went to this Italian restaurant in downtown Hamburg this evening – and it was a real hit. A good friend of mine, a chef himself, gave me the tip: "If you're there, be sure to try the pizza – it's the best in Hamburg." And he was right. We ordered four different pizzas, and each one was a delight – crispy crust, fresh ingredients, simply authentic Italian. The prices were absolutely reasonable, as were the drinks. The Italian beer, in particular, was a wonderful match. What made this evening even more special was the warm atmosphere. The chef, whom I greeted on behalf of my colleague, even sat down with us after his work. We immediately struck up a relaxed, friendly conversation – typically Italian: hospitable, warm, and welcoming. His son (very attentive and personable) and his mother also looked after us incredibly well. All in all: a restaurant with great food, warm hospitality, and genuine warmth. We'll definitely be back – highly recommended! Franco, thank you for the lovely evening.

I was at the trattoria yesterday – a cute little place with an outdoor area that's well-protected despite its proximity to the street! The service was super friendly and welcoming, the lasagna was delicious, and the tiramisu was also great! The prices are reasonable, and they have a different special every day of the week. I highly recommend the restaurant and will definitely be back!

A completely authentic, family-run trattoria with excellent food and an extremely cozy atmosphere. You won't find any rushed, mass-processing here. If you need anything, you'll get immediate attention; if you prefer peace and quiet, you'll be left alone. I was there on a business trip and alone, which can sometimes feel awkward, but definitely not here. I felt very comfortable. I'll be back, thank you very much 🙏.

Perfekt zubereitetes Essen! Zwei Tage nacheinander waren wir dort essen und absolut begeistert! Hauchdünne Kalbsleber, frischer Wolfsbarsch, Vitello Tonato: Alles genial zubereitet und mit einem tollen Preis- Leistungs- Verhältnis! Ein Familien- Betrieb der charmanten italienischen Art. Den Aussen- Bereich kann man schöner/freundlicher gestalten, Service und Essens- Qualität sind ausserordentlich gut! Wenn wir in Hamburg sind, ist das eine Pflicht- Adresse!

Very good pizza, a very good café, and a lovely outdoor area. Unfortunately, it's on a noisy street, but visually separated by plants. The prices are good for Winterhude. Service could be improved. After another bad experience, I'm not willing to go here again. The owner is extremely unpleasant and anything but hospitable. The negative reviews are understandable. To be fair, the food is delicious. Recommendation: Goat cheese salad with honey and walnuts - 5/5 stars Tiramisu - 5/5 stars

Absolutely amazing home-made Italian food! Variety of dishes both classics from around Italy, and specials. Cozy outside garden seating. Don't have pictures as the food was too tasty to ignore.

I can highly recommend this restaurant.

The food is good. No question. However, the friendliness and service is clearly subpar. If you come with one less person, you will immediately be greeted at the door if you have a reserved table. Drinks are forgotten and only come when asked again. No excuse. The dishes weren't brought together either, so I basically ate more. But at least they apologized for that. Hospitality is different, unfortunately. The last time for us in this restaurant. We also found it strange that we were offered a schnapps but couldn't switch to an espresso (we don't drink alcohol...) which was a shame.

Small and authentic trattoria. Eat like in Italy! The chef comes over and asks if it tastes good. Service very good and attentive. It was our first time there, but definitely not the last time...

Today we were guests again in this wonderful Italian restaurant in the middle of Eppendorf. In addition to the very family atmosphere and the extraordinarily courteous operation by the owner, I am enthusiastic about the dishes and the excellent dessert. We are already looking forward to our next visit and are happy to take a longer journey for this.

If there were 5 stars, I would give this 6 stars. A wonderful ambience, fantastic service and the food, oh... the food is delicious! An absolute recommendation. We came without a reservation and were very lucky to spontaneously get a table in the middle. A really nice evening, thank you very much to the team! We would love to come back 🤩

This was our first and last time in this restaurant. When we arrived at the restaurant there was no nice greeting, more like we were a nuisance. We were given a super uncomfortable table right next to the door, you felt like you were at the train station, it was freezing cold and the owner(s) were constantly shuffling past in a sullen and annoyed manner. Very unfriendly to rude service. Invoice receipt could not be printed, I was then supposed to pay amount X on demand. I then at least asked to check the bill at the terminal, which really annoyed the innkeeper. Not a word of goodbye. The only positive thing was the food. Pizza was good, spaghetti carbonara too, just completely carelessly prepared. Carpaccio tiny but tasty. Prices are certainly normal for Eppendorf. The stars are only for the food, everything else was subpar and not worthy of a restaurant.

Great Italian! There are fresh fish dishes every day, just as the fish comes in, delicious truffle dishes and always new daily or weekly creations! Always recommended is the “Pasta dello chef”: two surprise pasta dishes, served together. Always delicious, varied and you'll definitely get full! If you like limoncello, you will get your money's worth with the "Francospeciale": a refreshing summer aperitif with limoncello, mint... The desserts change from day to day, depending on what is freshly prepared at the time. Upon request, spontaneous creations outside of the daily menu are also prepared. Depending on what happens. It's worth asking.

Unfortunately, Vitello Tonnato was very disappointing. Also the truffle pasta in the main course. Ambience and service ok.

We went together with 2 colleagues, without booking, Franco still got us a table. We had an appetizer and a first course, all accompanied by an excellent bottle of primitivo from Puglia, what can I say, everything was excellent, honest prices considering the quality of what they served us, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to eat real Italian food, small but welcoming place, well done Franco and his collaborators!

Nie wieder! Es war ein unfassbares (häßliches) Erlebnis! Wir waren zu 8 und wollten diverse Gerichte mit- und untereinander teilen. Es begann damit, dass der Inhaber, quer durch das (voll besetzte) Restaurant rief: "Hier wird nicht geteilt, jeder ißt mindestens ein Gericht!" Nach allgemeinem Kopfschütteln, da wir recht viel bestellt hatten, kippte der Kellner meinem Freund ein frisches Glas Bier über die Hose. Komplett nass, mussten wir überlegen, wie der anstehende Theaterbesuch absolviert werden kann. Vom Restaurant kam keinerlei Entschuldigung, ganz im Gegenteil, auf die Frage, wie wir mit der Reinigung umgehen, kam die Antwort vom Chef, "man würde hier keine Reinigung bezahlen!" Daraufhin bemerkte der Kellner, dem das Ungeschick passiert war, dass er dafür aufkäme. Das haben wir natürlich nicht angenommen, da es einfach ein "Unfall" war. Es ging aber weiter: unsere (mit 22 Euro sehr teure) Vorspeise ließ einiges, was drauf sein sollte, vermissen und war zudem mini klein. Eine Bemerkung dazu wurde vom Tisch gewischt. Im Finale haben wir das unterschiedlich moniert und wurden von Franco nacheinander dazu des Lokales verwiesen, was zu einigem Kopfschütteln und Bemerkungen der anderen Gäste führte. Um das negative Erlebnis komplett zu machen, sagte mir der Chef zu meinen Bemerkungen zum mißglückten Abend mitten ins Gesicht: "Halt`die Fresse......" Dem ist, meine ich, nichts hinzuzufügen! Das Essen war in Gänze viel zu überteuert und die Qualität mäßig, bis auf die Spaghetti in Gorgonzola, woran man aber auch nichts falsch machen kann. Fazit: Die Dienstleistung ist ein Fremdwort. Unfreundlich und dazu nur mittlere Qualität. Man kann von einem Besuch nur dringend abraten!

Das unhöflichste Restaurant das wir je erlebt haben. Der Inhaber, ein arroganter und ungehobelter Mensch. Der Service kippte meinem Mann Bier über die Hose, die komplett durchnässt war. Keine Entschuldigung. Der Inhaber lehnte Reinigungskostenerstattung ab und meinte, dass wäre Sache der Servicekraft. Dann verwies er uns des Restaurants. Unsere Freundd wurden von ihm bepöbelt, mit: Hau ab und Halt die Fresse! Zu den Speisen: Die Speisen entsprechen nicht den ambitionierten Preisen. Nie wieder dieses Restaurant!

Wir waren mit 8 Personen da. An einem engen Tisch. Der Service hat ein volles Glas Bier über die Hose unseres Freundes geschüttet. Keine Entschuldigung! Das Essen war gut, aber nicht günstig. Zum Abschied gab es Diskussionen über den nicht vorhandenen Service, der endete mit wie„ Kommen Sie nicht wieder“ von Seiten des Inhabers und ganz zum Schluss“ Halt die Fresse“. Naja, von einem Gastronom erwarte ich eine bisschen mehr. Zumal wir nichts gemacht haben. Wir kommen bestimmt nicht wieder! Es war das und auch das letzte Mal.

We were very shocked yesterday. We had reserved a table for 5 p.m. When we stood at the door at 5 p.m. the restaurant was still closed. Then a man with a dog came out and told us that we had to wait another 10-15 minutes because they hadn't finished preparing yet. When we said that we would be completely soaked by then (it was raining very heavily) he just said that he couldn't change it. Of course we then went to another restaurant. This is really rude and not customer service.

Great ambience! A little bit of Tuscany in Winterhude. The whole family creates a cozy atmosphere! The saltimbocca was fantastic.

If you get a reservation confirmed and have to wait 15 minutes before you get a table and then wait another hour for your pizza, which is bland, bland and a bit cold for the price, it is difficult to understand the many positive reviews. Especially when other guests order later, get something earlier and there is no “sorry” from the staff. My conclusion: medium-good, slightly overpriced, regular-friendly restaurant. I don't have to go back.

Vor dem Besuch des Alma Hoppe ging's hierher. Das Reservieren eines Tisches ist empfehlenswert, denn die Tische sind fix besetzt. Anfangs war unsere Bedienung hanseatisch zurückhaltend. Nach einer kleinen Auftauphase war dieser beim Servieren der beiden Pizzen sogar zu einem Späßchen aufgelegt. Die Pizzen (Fungi und Salami) waren sehr lecker. Echt gut und zu empfehlen. Sollten wir wieder mal nach Hamburg kommen, werden wir bestimmt wieder vorbeischauen.

Es war ein rundum guter Restaurantaufenthalt. Das Essen war erstklassig, die Räumlichkeiten gemütlich und die Bedienung freundlich. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

We enjoy good Italian food and we know the classic penne arrabiata well. It should be spicy, as the name suggests, but if physical reactions are triggered and the dish is inedible, you can no longer speak of a passionate taste. None of us could eat it. Too much seasoning can happen, but then hearing that we are not Italian and cannot judge this is not only customer-unfriendly but simply presumptuous and cheeky. No apologies and disregarding the physical reactions, I have never experienced an Italian restaurant like this.

Small, chic and very cozy restaurant. The people there are so warm and nice and the food is really very good. We will be back definitely :)

Leckeres italienisches Essen. Waren spontan auf die Idee gekommen dort zu essen und haben auch kurzfristig noch einen Tisch für zwei Personen bekommen. Neben der Standardkarte gibt es auch eine wechselnde Sonderkarte, mit leckeren Gerichten. Preise sind etwas gehobener, ist aber gerechtfertigt. Bekamen nach dem bezahlen, auch noch einen Sambuca aufs Haus. Kommen wieder!

Rundum gelungener Abend, leckere Pasta und Fischgerichte, frisch und schmackhaft. Gemütliche Atmosphäre und nette Bedienung, gerne wieder.

Es war kein gelungender Restaurant Besuch! Vorspeise und Hauptspeise bestellt. Vorspeise vergessen wollte man dann zur Hauptspeise dazu stellen. Das geht garnicht. Habe eine Hauptspeise von der Tageskarte bestellt Jacobsmuscheln mit selbstgemachte Trüffel Ravioli. Das war ein Witz selten so schlecht gegessen. Ich werde das Restaurant nicht nochmal besuchen. Dafür gibt es einfach bessere Italiener.

We received a super friendly welcome from the start. No wish was left unfulfilled and it was a thoroughly successful evening! We said at the beginning that we had time and so everything was served at our pace from starter to dessert. We will come more often from now on.

Es war ein rundum sehr schöner Abend . Angefangen von der Bewirtung durch das sehr freundliche Personal über die leckeren Getränke,wir hatten einen Montepulciano, sehr lecker!!! bis hin zum extrem leckerem Essen. Wir hatten als Vorspeisen den Antipasti-Teller , sehr lecker, und als Hauptgang den Tagesfisch, eine gegrillte Dorade mit einem Beisalat , der Fisch wurde für uns am Tisch filetiert, war ausgezeichnet und hat wirklich sehr ,sehr gut geschmeckt. Wir können das Restaurant nur wärmstens empfehlen,Preis/Leistung stimmen und wir kommen gerne wieder.

Das Restaurant ist sehr schön vom Ambiente. Wir hatten ein schönes Abendessen, welches sehr gut geschmeckt hat. Auch der Wein hat gemundet. Am besten war der Nachtisch. Es gab Tiramisu mit Rafaello Kugeln. Super lecker. Der Lärm von der Straße dringt nicht ins Innere.

Nachdem man scheinbar im Cafe Leinpfad KEIN INTERESSE hatte, uns zu bedienen, sind wir zum Glück weitergezogen und im unscheinbaren Campo - da Franco gelandet. Die vorangegangenen Bewertungen kann ich überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen, da wir schnell und sympatisch bedient wurden. Als Vorspeise servierte das Haus leckeres Brot mit einem milden Olivenöl. Mein Pinot Grigo war mir hingegen etwas zu bieder. Priorität hatte jedoch das Essen. Meine Partnerin hatte ein perfekt zubereitetes Thunfischsteak und ich die bisher besten Spaghetti Carbonara in Hamburg. Fast original, jedoch mit Parmesan statt Pecorino. Über die begründete Käseauswahl hatte ich noch ein sehr nettes Gespräch mit dem Küchenchef. Alles zu fairen Preisen. Wir besuchen da Franco bald wieder.

Ein ganz romantisches Plätzchen mitten in der Stadt. Man fühlt sich hier wie in klein Italien. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und das Essen eine Freude. Wir kommen gerne wieder 👍🤩

Sehr schönes, stilvolles italienisches Restaurant mit einem super freundlichen Service. Mein Favorit war die Pizza Vitello Tonnato - habe ich so noch nirgends gesehen und war sehr lecker. Beim nächsten Besuch in Hamburg kommen wir wieder :)

Mega Service. Leider etwas dunkle Terrasse

Selten so unfreundlich und barsch in einem Restaurant als Gast behandelt worden. Küche ist zwar ganz gut, aber ich werde ganz bestimmt nie wieder dieses Lokal betreten. Gute italienische Küche bekommt man woanders auch, und dies in einer freundlichen Atmosphäre. Wenn der Gast stört, sollte der Wirt zumachen und sich beruflich umorientieren.

Das Ambiente draußen ist ortsbedingt eher ungemütlich, da direkt an der Hauptstraße. So richtig versucht dem entgegenzuwirken wurde hier auch nicht. Das Essen ist entsprechend dem Preis okay. Der Service war ausbaufähig. Ein Brotkorb wurde trocken und ohne Olivenöl/Salz hingestellt. Der Kellner kam genau 2 mal, zum Essen abstellen und dann zum Abräumen. Wir hätten gerne noch etwas länger gesessen und etwas getrunken.

Gut: die Desserts sind Top! Frisch zubereitet und echt lecker. Ich empfehle Tiramisu und Creme Brulle. Schlecht: hohe Preise, Pizza mit wenig drauf für 15 Euro, Dessert > 9 Euro. Frische Gemüse nur bei teuren Gerichte ab 23 Euro. Ambiente ist den hohen Preisen nicht angemessen, Räumlichkeiten lieblos gestaltet, Tische stehen viel zu eng. Es gibt keine Pizza Vegetaria. Neutral: Draußen ist es durch die Staße ziemlich laut.

Wir waren zweimal Essen. Beide Male hat das Essen super geschmeckt. Hauswein sehr gut statt nur billigen Sauerampfer. Service sehr freundlich. Ambiente an der Straße hint den kleinen Punteabzjg. Ansonsten sehr zu empfehlen

Meine Freundin und ich waren einen Kurz Trip in Hamburg machen und wollten noch etwas leckeres Essen gehen und sind dann hier gelandet. Und wir sind so begeistert und werden wieder kommen! Das Essen ist einfach super, frische Zutaten und die Portionen sind auch sehr angemessen und genau richtig, dass man satt wird. Es ist nicht zu viel, aber auch nicht zu wenig. Nachtrag: 03.06.2023 Diesmal waren alle Pizzen sehr sehr spärlich belegt. Die Spagetti Carbonara waren dafür absolut perfekt. .................... Bester Italiener hier in der Gegend, wirklich tolles leckeres Essen.

Unweit des Winterhuder Fährhaus liegt dieser kleine und feine Italiener. Service sehr gut, freundlich und immer bemüht. Innenausstattung sehr gemütlich, so wie man es von einem Italiener erwarten darf. Angebot hochpreisig, aber wo ist es heute noch normal?! Die Qualität des Essens sehr gut. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt. Gerne wieder.

Das Essen war leider wirklich, wirklich schlecht. Mit der Pizza hätten wir alle Fenster entwerfen können, so hart war der Boden. Vor allem für den Preis ein absolutes No-Go. Service und Ambiente jedoch Top.

Mir zu aufgesetzte italienische Gastfreundlichkeit, die zu sehr auf Umsatz bedacht ist. Essen gut, aber auch für Eppendorf überteuert.

Familiäre Atmosphäre, feine Küche und: einfach Entspannung pur.

Sehr gemütlich und kuschelig. Chef und Bedienung sehr freundlich. Essen war ok. Meine Frutti di Mare auf Risotto war nicht der Hammer. Zu wenig Frutti, zuviel Risotto, welches dazu noch echt nicht gut war. Das Essen der anderen 6 Gäste war aber von gut bis spitzenmäßig. Daher im Schnitt 4 Sterne.
