Gentlemen, I came to the restaurant to eat a pizza after reading the online menu. Instead of that menu, I was presented with a list of pizzas that were both pleasant and uninteresting. And, of course, the pizza was mediocre. In German, the pizza shop was boring. My friends' pizzas weren't any better. This pizza is definitely not worth the trip from the other side of town for. Boring and rather bland, the neatly arranged mozzarella balls (buffalo??) didn't exactly demonstrate great cooking skills. And by the way: The competitor next door also offers the "Greeting from the Kitchen" for pizza. What a shame!

When we arrived at the nearby campsite on Friday evening, we wanted to go out for a nice meal. Unfortunately, we received a rude welcome; we hadn't made a reservation and were advised not to linger too long. We understood this, and so... just pizza. Well, the pizza was delicious, nothing to complain about, but we received second-class service. Especially since we didn't order an appetizer. A disaster for us. Card payments are unfortunately not possible. I just think that if my restaurant is located at a campsite, they could keep one or two tables open for "walk-ins." It was an experience...

We were there last summer. On a Sunday, around 5:30 p.m., there were only three tables on the terrace occupied. We were completely ignored for 45 minutes, with no eye contact and no greeting whatsoever. We left after 50 minutes. We'd been there before for a five-course meal, but the truffle spaghetti was simply forgotten. No go ☹️

You'll fall in love with it. Warm, cozy, and delicious. Great value for money!!! It's amazing that something like this still exists! We'll be back.

Best Italian restaurant. They also have very good pizza, but we would gladly travel to Essen again for the fish dishes and appetizers. If they want to expand, we would request the Nuremberg-Fürth area. We stayed at the neighboring campsite and ate at this restaurant two evenings. We highly recommend it. First evening: There was a special from the kitchen with spread. We then ordered Antipasto Classico as a starter (large portion) and fish variations, and the grilled octopus from the daily menu. On the second evening: Fish appetizer platter (outstanding) from the daily menu, pizza burrata, and pasta with tuna tartare in ricotta and lemon sauce. Even the house red wine is very good there. You can also just eat pizza there. That would be a shame, though. We'll be back when we're in North Rhine-Westphalia.

A real discovery – Enzo and his team offer authentic Italian cuisine. From the daily specials, we had a delicious grilled octopus, antipasti, and a pizza with spinach and prawns. Everything was truly delicious, and the white wines we ordered were also very good. There was a bit of a commotion while ordering, but this was immediately and charmingly resolved. Plus, it's very good value for money. Thank you for the lovely evening, we'll be back.

For me, the best Italian restaurant. Top-notch service, super-delicious, fresh Italian cuisine with the finest ingredients. And Enzo is a super-empathetic host. It's always a pleasure when we come to eat here; I immediately feel at home. Thank you for that.

A beautiful evening under a summer sky. A pizza order mix-up wasn't a problem. A correction was offered immediately. The inquiries about whether everything was still OK came a bit frequently after the meal. When we asked for the bill, the waiter didn't know what we'd ordered, and we had to recite everything. It's inconceivable that the order hadn't been registered with the waiter. Then everything was added up on a cell phone and the total was given. I only received a bill upon request. However, the individual items weren't listed. "What's the 7 euros?" "That's the water." "A small water 0.25 for 7 euros?" The manager chimed in: "That's the two beers." Unbelievable. Card payments aren't accepted, of course. Again: the pizza is really good. And you're sitting in a green space. But if you're picky about bills, you'll leave with a strange feeling.

I ordered a Sprite drink, which the menu said would cost €3.70 for a 0.3 liter (which I already thought was quite high). I was served a 0.2-liter bottle of Bluna, which was then added to the bill for €3. When I pointed out that that was €15 per liter, and a liter of beer only costs €10, the waitress replied, "I know, I know..." and added that the prices are now a bit higher than indicated on the menu—that's completely unacceptable! And regarding the owner's response: my review is two years old and didn't generate any reaction back then. I'm not making anything up. I just recently removed another star.

The food was truly delicious, authentic Italian food. We were extremely surprised to find such a restaurant on a campsite. You can sit both inside and outside, and the interior has a truly Italian charm! The service was also very friendly. We had pizza, fish, and pasta. It was truly delicious!

Visited for dinner and had a lovely meal. Unfortunately we do not speak German and I felt the owner immediately passed us on because of that. However, the young man who served us was very pleasant and helpful. Food was very nice, we had pasta dishes, not large portions but enough. Price was reasonable, especially as it is on the campsite so no need to wander too far.

Abends in Eiseskälte auf dem Campingplatz angekommen, keine Lust mehr weit zu laufen, oder gar selbst zu kochen…. Nichts erwartet und dann ein Juwel gefunden. Schon das Ambiente, liebevoll ausgesuchte Accessoires, warme heimelige Atmosphäre. Äußerst aufmerksame, nette Bedienung, sowohl professionell, als auch zu einem lockeren Spruch in der Lage. Gruß aus der Küche und dann ein Rinderfilet, auf Punkt, zart auf der Zunge zergehend. Beilage Kartoffelstampf und ( saisonal!) gebackener Spitzkohl. Auch die Pizza, knusprig, fluffig, lecker. Wir waren rundum glücklich. Das Beste kam zum Schluss: Live Klaviermusik zu einem gediegenen Glas Rotwein. Dieses Restaurant ist für sich schon ein Grund in Essen einen Reisestopp einzulegen.

Tolle Überraschung - eine solch brilliante Küche mit erstklassigem Service - wir sind voll begeistert. Vom Wohnmobil auf dem Campingplatz zum hübsch mit Kerzenschein erleuchteten Restaurant nur wenige Meter...das machen wir öfter!

At first glance you think it's a classic campsite pizzeria, but this Italian restaurant is something special. Great atmosphere in candlelight and very friendly young staff. The highlight, however, was the piano player who played really great pieces the whole time. (We don't even listen to classical music) It was an all around great evening. You're welcome to keep it up.

A real insider tip for us. A typical Italian: authentic fresh food with a weekly and daily menu, great service from the 'little' boss and his colleague. A piano player provides the right accompaniment. In short, Enzo is super tasty, cozy, slowing down, with great people. You don't go here for the occasional pizza, but for a real Italian evening with friends with friends.

Service indescribable. Waited over an hour for the completely overpriced food. When I asked where the food was, I received a very rude answer. Oh, they've only been waiting an hour. Never again.

Nie wieder! Die schlechteste Pizza die ich jemals gegessen habe. Schon auf die Nachfrage was auf der „Krustentierpizza“ drauf ist, konnte mir der Ober die Zutaten nicht mitteilen. Ebenso etwas später der Besitzer selbst - ja so Garnelen und Gambas (ohnehin das selbe!?) ja und so was halt - war die Antwort. Nach meinem Dafürhalten wusste er selbst nicht was drauf ist! Ich hab mir dann vorsichtshalber eine einfache Pizza mit Oregano, Kapern und Sardellen bestellt. Die Zutaten konnte ich dann später mit der Lupe suchen. Der Geschmack war mehr als unterdurchschnittlich. Ich habe den Wirt dann auch daraufhin angesprochen, was ihn aber überhaupt nicht berührt hat und mich mehr oder weniger als Deppen dastehen hat lassen. Wie gesagt, nie wieder!

Just got charged €33.50 by the boss for two standard pizzas from the menu to take away / pick up yourself (a Tonno Onion €11.50 and a Spinach Gambas €12 on the menu). I asked twice because of the price. It remained at €33.50. He obviously "factored" a tip into the price, which is why I didn't give one this time...

We were there on the last evening with 5 people without making a reservation beforehand, and then put two tables together, which was no problem at all. The 2 young waitresses weren't exactly the fastest, the pizzas were all very, very tasty, crispy and large, I can't say anything against the negative comments here about the pizzas. The price-performance ratio was also good, except for the drinks, wheat beer 5€, FrizzKola 0.2 3€ but oh well.

The pizza was perfect!! The boss and the staff are quick and friendly despite the high volume, it couldn't be better!

If you want to know my best Italian, experience it yourself. The owner and his team are great and the food is brilliant.

We visited the restaurant with high hopes for a delicious pizza. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in a major way. The biggest letdown was the complete lack of flavor. The crust, though boasting a good crisp, was utterly bland. It tasted like they forgot the salt entirely, leaving a blank canvas for the toppings. Speaking of toppings, these were equally disappointing. My pizza, despite being a large size, only offered a measly four shrimp scattered across its surface. Overall, my experience at Trattoria da Giulia was a let down. The crispy crust had no flavor due to a lack of salt, and the toppings were skimpy. I left feeling unsatisfied and wishing I had gone elsewhere.

Until recently I was a big fan of this restaurant. However, on my last visit I was treated unfairly. After the main course, the owner came to my table, handed me the bill and asked if I was ready. This has never happened before and to be honest it shocked me. Next time I'll go somewhere else. Too bad.

As a non-camping guest, you probably accept that the restaurant is located outside of Werdener Mitte on a campsite if everything else is fine. Unfortunately, my/our first visit was not convincing and therefore the last. The pasta dishes were not worth their price and one of two was “slapped” onto the plate very carelessly and was only lukewarm. As a starter we ordered the antipasti from a waitress who said that we would share a portion. When we paid we were surprised to find that antipasti had been charged twice. The head of the catering department said that he specifically asked us if we wanted to have the starter twice, which we said yes. In fact, we hadn't spoken to him at all. We felt “ripped off”. The portion of antipasti was small and not varied, the whole thing was charged at EUR 29, which is a complete mockery. If the quantity had actually been doubled for two people (which we specifically hadn't ordered), why were there only three balls of mini mozzarella on the plate?

I don't want to go into too much detail about the facility or the staff, as both were fine. Antipasti: What we (2 people) were so annoyed about was that if you ordered one (1) starter plate and said when ordering that we would share it, then a large plate was automatically charged when billing. This plate was NOT worth EUR 29!! (normal portion 14.50 EUR). 2 slices of cooked ham, 2 slices of prosciutto crudo, a few mushrooms, 3 small slices of carpaccio, 3 small mozzarella balls, all NOT NICELY decorated on a plate. Second place: Each pasta; I have rarely seen something so unlovedly decorated in an Italian restaurant!! It reminded me a lot of the food I get at lunch in Italy at the so-called "pausa pranzo", where a plate of pasta costs EUR 5. Conclusion: In terms of food, we've rarely eaten as BAD as we did there; and when you do the billing you are completely taken by surprise - we felt RIPED OFF and won't be coming back. .....the espresso was a lukewarm puddle; The quantity was just enough to wet your tongue - This trattoria is NOT RECOMMENDED!

Die Speisekarte bietet eine feine Auswahl an köstlichen italienischen Gerichten (die Gerichte auf der Tageskarte sind besonders zu empfehlen). Das Personal war freundlich, aufmerksam und sorgte dafür, dass unser Abend unvergesslich wurde. Wir können es kaum erwarten, wiederzukommen und diese gastronomische Oase erneut zu erleben. Ein absolutes Muss für alle Liebhaber authentischer italienischer Küche!"

Das ist ein echter Geheimtipp! Wir gehen nun seit über 2 Jahren in regelmäßigen Abständen dort essen und wirklich jedes einzelne Mal ist das Essen ein absoluter Genuss. Alles was auf der Karte ist kann man dort in bester Qualität und zu einem fairen Preis bestellen. Besonders gut gefällt mir der leichte asiatische Touch bei den Vorspeisen. Absolute Weiterempfehlung 10/10!

Hospitality, warmth and joy of life? Yes, that was once. I have now experienced a bad-tempered Enzo twice in a row. If you don't want your "special of the day" but order it from the menu, your mood will be down and you will be treated that way. You get the feeling "Oh, you just want the noodles? Then please don't come back." It has also become a bit expensive for the bulky waste disposal facility at the campsite. The way we were treated yesterday was the last time for us. But maybe that was exactly how it was intended. It's a shame - but Italians also have better food.

Das Essen ist jedes Mal aufs neue der Hammer!! Wir kommen immer gerne hierhin. Das Ambiente ist super gemütlich und ab und an wird der Abend auch mit toller Piano-Live Musik begleitet. Hier kann man einen schönen gemütlichen Abend mit der Familie und Freunden verbringen. 👍🏽🥂🥘

When you arrive at the Knaus campsite in Essen-Werden as a camper with 30 years of travel experience, you are initially amazed at the condition of the pitches for holidaymakers: you rarely find such a bad pitch these days. When it rains, the parking spaces for travelers are completely covered in mud, and that's not exactly cheap. The investment backlog is huge...But! The restaurant “Da Giulia”, which is located directly behind the entrance and offers fantastic Italian cuisine, offers great compensation for all the inconveniences. Enzo, the head of the restaurant, comes from Naples and is a gifted chef! The restaurant forms a strong contrast to the campsite by offering a cozy, nostalgic atmosphere and excellent cuisine that does not offer the usual pasta-pizza standard, but rather highly tasty and creative dishes. Probably one of the best Italian restaurants in the Ruhr area!

Sehr gutes Essen. Der Service taugt nichts. Beispiel: Hatten Mineralwasser mit Kohlensäure bestellt. Es kam stilles Wasser. Bei Reklamation bekamen wir die Antwort, wir bekommen dann bei der nächsten Flasche mit Kohlensäure. Besteck gab es für ein 4-Gänge-Menü nur eines. Auf dem Teller mitgegeben wurde wieder auf den Tisch gelegt. Noch Fragen?

Gute, ehrliche italienische Küche. Echte Spaghetti Carbonara ohne die übliche, pampige Sahnesauce. Sehr aufmerksamer, netter und freundlicher Service - Daran ändert auch Enzo´s rustikaler Charme nichts. Auch die Hauptdarsteller des Fisch-Tagesgerichtes sind nicht umsonst gestorben. Leider keine Kartenzahlung möglich. Biergarten mit bequemer Einrichtung ist zusätzlich zum Gastraum vorhanden Da kann man hingehen! Viel Spass...

Habe es hier nicht so sehr gemocht, wie ich es hatte mögen wollen. Kleiner Laden, kleine Speisekarte, ein paar wöchentlich wechselnde Gerichte... nice. Das Essen war aber nur gut (4/5), und meiner Freundin, die sich so auf Pasta gefreut hatte, wurde dann fälschlicherweise irgendein Risottogericht serviert. Als 'Entschuldigung' wurden dann einige wenige Euro (def. einstellig) von der Rechnung abgezogen, aber ich erwarte entweder ein kostenloses Gericht, wenn etwas völlig anderes als bestellt serviert wird, oder eine Neuanfertigung dea eigentlich bestellten Gerichts + Entschuldigung dafür, dass ein Paar zeitlich getrennt essen muss.

Nicht gut Service sehr langsam tollpatschig und umorganisiert brauchen sehr lange bis das Essen serviert ist und hat auch nicht gut geschmeckt das Kind hat sich am besten um uns gekümmert aussehen OK zu wenige mit Arbeiter und haben 2 Stunden auf das Essen gewartet . Ich würde das Restaurant nicht empfehlen

Der beste Italiener zwischen Florenz und Nordseeküste ist in Essen auf einem "Campingplatz"! Wir haben durch Zufall einen Zwischenstop auf dem Knaus Campingplatz in Essen gemacht und heute Abend beim besten Italiener, den wir bisher erleben durften, ein tolles Abendessen mit dem entsprechenden Service bekommen! Vom Ambiente her hätten wir das, auf einem Campingplatz, niemals erwartet!!!! Macht weiter so, wir kommen wieder!

Erinnert uns an eine italienische Osteria. kein feines Edelambiente, sondern Schwerpunkt sehr gute Küche. Im Sommer draußen auf dem Campingplatz, innen sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Wir hatten das Sommermenü zu 69 Euro inkl. Wein. Jeder Gang hat uns sehr gut gefallen, dazu ein frischer Passerina aus den Marken. Nebenbei sehr sehr leckeres italienisches Weissbrot und ne entspannte Atmosphäre. Viel besser als ein Campingplatz normalerweise erwarten lässt.

Het eten is kwalitatief top, erg lekker en mooi aangemaakt. De bediening is vriendelijk en het personeel is flexibel in de samenstelling van de gerechten. Een extra pluspunt. De sfeer is rustig en relaxed aangelegen aan een camping in Essen-Werden. Hier kom ik graag terug.

Leider kann ich die guten Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Wir besuchten Freunde, die auf dem Campingplatz einen Dauerstellplatz haben umd wollten im Anschluss mit unserem kleinen Sohn eine Pizza essen. Egal, was wir machten (Handzeichen, herrufen) und als das Essen (2 Gerichte) nach knapp 2 Stunden immernoch nicht da war, selbst andere Tische bereits ihr Essen hatten, gingen wir. Die anderen Tische hatten jeweils 7, 3 und mehrere Personen und wurden vor uns bedient, obwohl sie nach uns kamen. Während unseres ganzen Aufenthaltes wirkte die Bedienung sehr hektisch und unkoordiniert, auch den anderen Gästen gegenüber. Wir bekamen mit, das Essen falsch gebracht wurde und auch uns gegenüber keinerlei Entschuldigung entgegengebracht wurde. Wir haben an dem Abend viel Geduld bewiesen. Bei einem anderen Italiener im Ort bekamen wir an dem Abend, trotz grossem Andrang unser Essen in kurzer Zeit.

Service schlecht, Pizza nicht gut. Rucola stank zum Himmel, die ganze Pizza trocken und schlecht belegt, kein Geschmack. Bei den Preisen hätte ich was anderes erwartet. Auch bei anderen Gästen blieb der Rand der Pizza auf dem Teller.

Alles perfekt, lecker gegessen und das Ambiente mit Live Pianomusik ist wunderschön. Leider ist keine EC-Kartenzahlung möglich.

Toller kleiner Italiener am Campingplatz. Speisekarte übersichtlich, was mir sehr gut gefällt. Viele Spezialitäten, kein 0815. Preislich etwas gehobener, außer der Pizza, aber für die Qualität zahle ich gerne. Freundliche Bewirtung. Sogar ein Klavierspieler war da. Kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Wir waren jetzt drei Tage hintereinander dort essen. Hervorragendes Essen, frische Fischgerichte! Bedienung ist bisschen verpeilt, kann leicht was vergessen oder verwechseln. Trotzdem sehr empfehlenswert!

Ein unterhaltsamer Abend mit einem Trüffelmenü.....

Wir waren ganz spontan mit der Mannschaft da und waren ganz begeistert. Die Pizza ist perfekt und die Auswahl überschaubar und trotzdem genau richtig. Dass die Trattoria auf einem Campingplatz ist vergisst direkt nach dem eintreten. Danke auch an das freundliche Personal! Einziges Manko: Keine Kartenzahlung möglich (gewesen?)

Authentische süditalienische Küche jenseits von Pizza und Sahnesaucenpasta. Ständig wechselnde Gerichte.

Wir sind abends noch spontan mit 6 Personen hin. Die Aufnahme war freundlich, das Angebot am Gerichten aber schon ein wenig ausgedünnt. Wir haben dennoch was gefunden, wobei mein gegrillter Tintenfisch wirkllich prima war- Eigentlich eine Vorspeise, von der Menge einer Hauptspeise würdig. Es gab noch die letzten beiden Portionen ossobuco, was nicht so mein Ding ist. Hat die Esser allerdings erfreut. Die Atmospähre ist heimelig, der Service gur. Im Ergebnis: Immer gerne wieder

Es war ein super schöner Abend! Essen top, super Service, begleitende Musik live! Wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt! Das ist bella Italia

Sehr gemütliches, kleines und feines Lokal. Ich war sehr überrascht, da es ja bei einem Campingplatz ist und so unscheinbar. Das Essen war perfekt und ein schönes italienisches Flair. Sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Leute.

Nach einer anstrengenden Fahrt auf diesen Campingplatz wurde ich zu positivsten überrascht über ein Restaurant in dieser Art und dieser Klasse auf einem Campingplatz. La Italia auf einem kleinen Campingplatz! Und fühlte sich sofort wie in Italien ein Ambiente das sagte... setz dich, fühle dich wohl, und genieße! Eine sehr freundliche zuvorkommende Bedienung ein Koch um den Italien weint, ein Ambiente wovon manche deutschen lokale träumen! Das Essen.... ein Träumchen! Preis-Leistung einfach nur bravissimo!

Die Vorspeisen waren sehr gut, die Pizzen waren gut. 18,- für eine Tatarvorspeise und 13,- für eine Pizza sind ist das Restaurant preislich weiter oben angesiedelt.

Superlækker mad - en entrecote så mør, at den smeltede på tungen - saucen smagte, så man kunne høre englene synge og delikate al dente grøntsager plus en lækker kartoffel/svampe gratin - 5 kokkehuer herfra 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳👨‍🍳👩‍🍳👨‍🍳
