Topkapi Kebab Haus in Gelsenkirchen

My husband and I have recently started ordering from here and the food is always delicious, hot, fresh, and in generous portions. The delivery drivers are very friendly, delivery times are always great, and if you're lucky, you might even get free desserts. They're very thoughtful and kind, and we'll definitely be ordering again! 🫶

We ordered from Topkapi restaurant in Gelsenkirchen via Uber Eats and were very impressed. The doner kebab and the tuna pizza were both fresh, tasted fantastic, and the meat was of truly excellent quality. The accompanying rice pudding was also delicious. The little extra was a gift from the restaurant, but that doesn't affect our rating. A particularly positive point: all our requests were accommodated – nothing was forgotten. That's rare these days and deserves a big thank you. One small suggestion for improvement: the pizza could be packaged better, as cling film isn't ideal for transport. However, there was absolutely no compromise on taste. Overall, very good service and very good food. We will definitely order again.

If you can get a baby kebab for 4.90, then you'd rather pay 8 euros and not rip people off.

A classic, the best doner kebab anywhere. The meat is perfect, and the skewer is homemade. This kind of doner is something we miss in Germany these days. I went there as a child in the 90s, and the quality has remained the same to this day. And the service is still professional. They're always very nice to customers! Experience it for yourself and go there, and you'll understand what I mean...

It's not like it's carrion to be eaten.

Super delicious food, and there were some issues with the delivery via Uber Eats, but the manager at Topkapi was very dedicated and helpful. He took extra time to ensure the delivery went smoothly. We're really very satisfied.

Unfortunately, the kebab doesn't taste good. It's far too dry.

I ate pita bread and it was good, but the salad was not fresh at all.

I had Adana kebab here, İskender-style. The kebab was delicious and the portion was large, and the bread underneath was crispy, as it should be. Instead of yogurt on the side, they poured tomato paste sauce over the kebab, which I think is better. However, they cut the Adana meatballs in half lengthwise, which prevented them from getting too moist. The staff was kind and attentive, and I'm looking forward to trying the other dishes here.

I waited 40 minutes for my kebab. Every southerner who came in was allowed ahead. Absolutely audacious, and all for a substandard kebab. The kebab man apparently had something against Germans. I'll be giving the shop a wide berth.

The food wasn't good, had a disgusting aftertaste, and was very greasy. I told them they couldn't do anything about the price, and I had to pay full price. I even offered to pay half price anyway. It's just a shame. A year ago, the food was still delicious.

A very nice shop. And the grilled meats are a dream. I stayed there longer than planned because I was invited for tea. The staff were very friendly. Everything was definitely homemade and, above all, fresh.

The taste of dried beans is zero. It has no taste or salt. It has nothing to do with meat paca at all..Katastrophe…nieder….

Everything is good, the food and the service are perfect, the middle-aged waiters are already great, they have a good command of everything. What I observed is that when you leave a tip (Trinkgeld) for the waiters, the cashiers throw it into the cash register and do not give it to the waiters. After this incident, I give the tip to the waiter himself, whoever takes care of me after this incident. TIP SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THE WAITERS, NOT TOWARDS THE TIPS.

I ordered a kebab with extra meat and spent €9.50, which I honestly find too expensive. But the kebab is really very high quality and delicious. Bread and skewers are homemade. The 4 stars only because for 9.50 there should have been more meat in it, otherwise it was great.

It's beautiful now. The workers are different but there is nothing to do. I can say that it is the best meat doner around the center of Gelsenkirchen.

Unbelievable, I've been eating there for over 20 years and the kebab is really great, always a lot of meat, not much salad and now the kebab costs 6.90 and there's hardly any meat in the bread, just salad, just sad

Very very tasty. Home-baked bread and the meat is probably home-made too. It's definitely not cheap meat. Price more than fair for the quality. FYI there is lamb fat on the skewer. I like it very much and it's not too strong at all.

Doner kebab is not made to order but according to what the worker feels like. Doner meat is just disgusting. I've never eaten anything so disgusting. Pommdöner orders very few fries for children and lots of old meat on top. Never eat anything there again. I've known the store for a long time and the people who gave it 5 stars are mostly their own people.

Wir waren hier in den letzten Jahren recht häufig essen. Man kann sehr schön draußen sitzen und sich das Treiben in der Einkaufsmeile anschauen. Das Gute ist das mit einem Holzkohlegrill zubereitet wird. Seit die Preise aber im letzten Jahr massiv angehoben wurden sparen wir uns weitere Besuche. Mal ein Pommes für unterwegs. Köfte mit Pommes und Salat kostet jetzt 14,80 €. Leider wurde dann auch noch die Speisemenge minimiert, also doppelte Preiserhöhungen. Eine Köfte Frikadelle weniger als bei unserem Stamm Türken, das müssen wir uns nicht antun. Da die Fleischpreise in der letzten Zeit runtergingen, dachte man das wirkt sich auch auf die Preise aus. Nichts die Preise sind geblieben.

I always find something tasty here. Whether hearty, savory or sweet, everything tastes good. It doesn't matter if I'm in a hurry and just want to take something with me or if I'm eating in peace and quiet on site. Well, the prices are reasonable. 😞 It was the worst Iskender I have ever eaten in my life, the service was very bad, there was no interest at all, they lied about the menus, they were very expensive, everything was so terrible, I can't even describe it, we were a disgrace to our guests, they went after 25 cents worth of fanfare, never again, never again...

Food was good. If it didn't smell like aftershave it would be even better. You should tell the waitresses. Apart from that good.

We sat outside and had to wait longer for someone to come and the table wasn't clean, hence 4 stars. We liked the food itself. The bread (side dish) was a bit dry, hence 4 stars. The ambience outside is functional, hence 3 stars. Overall, the restaurant is fine for in-between meals.

Came for the bathroom; stayed for the food. Get anything they cook on the real charcoal. Also really good price for a ton of food.

Doner meat was fatty. Schnitzel was raw. More mayo than fries. Hardly any sauce in the kebab. After asking, only the thirst quencher was extinguished, which was obviously the cheapest option.

Was eating there for the second time now. I was given a friendly welcome and was allowed to choose a spot. The waiter came immediately and took my order, which was brought to the table quickly and freshly prepared. Had a kebab plate with fries, mixed salad, onions and tzatziki. The service was very unfriendly and disrespectful. The food was acceptable. We had ordered tea and had to wait 35 minutes? That was the first and last time I was there.

The ambience is really okay, surrounded by plants that separate you a bit from the main station. The service is ok, the service greets you in a foreign language, but they quickly switch to German if the guest doesn't understand the language. Unfortunately, the food wasn't good, the kebab was very sparingly covered in sauce and the fries tasted very much like oil. In addition, I had a whole clove of garlic in my kebab, which can spoil your appetite.

Price performance too expensive for Gelsenkirchen. Dörner was very oily. Fries disaster warmed up for a long time. It's a shame because as the top dog there's still a lot of room for improvement. It really is better.

Very tasty and fair prices! Was there with my wife at the weekend. The service was friendly, the starter was very generous (homemade bread, 3 dips, 2 salads), the grill plate and Adana skewer tasted excellent. The bread for kebabs and dürüm are also homemade. Prices are absolutely fair, even slightly below the average in the Ruhr area. Therefore highly recommended! 👏🏼

I've been driving from Dortmund to get kebab from there for years, until last week, I ordered 2 kebabs to take away, with the request that the meat be fried a little more. Every time it was cut, an employee came and filled the plate for the customers at the tables, no problem either. After about 25-30 minutes I thought, ok, now it's my turn, the skewer was also well fried, Unfortunately, another employee came and took all the meat for other customers. The service was exceptional. As soon as I entered the restaurant. I've already been asked what I want. When I decided to eat my food on site, I was asked to choose a place. My order would then be served to me at the table. While I was waiting, a waiter also spoke to me. Who didn't notice that I had already ordered. Which showed me that they were interested in me as a customer. Then my kebab bag came. Well, I have to say, the bread wasn't a run-of-the-mill item. So it's tasteless. No, it had a great taste. Like I've never experienced anywhere else. But the content was also great, neither bland and dry nor greasy and dripping. It's rare to get a kebab bag like this where everything is perfect. The only small drawback was that only cash is accepted here. But this was worth the meal.

We were there earlier and sat in the back in a corner. They said we weren't allowed to sit here because there were only 3 of us. The table would probably be for several people. We didn't want to react and just walked out. When we said we didn't want to sit there the employee became rude. No hello or anything was said. Once and never again . You can't speak of customer friendliness here. Everyone is very rude and you don't feel welcome here.

Über die Preise darf man ja nichts mehr sagen . Das Essen war lecker , halt wie in einer türkischen pommesbude.

Mein Nr.1 Dönerladen in Gelsenkirchen,gute Qualität zum fairen Preis. Große Speisenauswahl 👍

Essen zum Mitnehmen bestellt. Mitarbeiter waren an sich nett, wirkten aber etwas überfordert. Döner eher unterer Durchschnittlich. Brot ist zwar selbstgemacht, war in unserem Fall aber nicht mehr frisch. Salate frisch. Auswahl gut. Fleisch leider durchschnittlich. Hähnchen teilweise noch mit Haut, keinerlei Eigenwürzung. Mit 6 Euro ist der Preis in Anbetracht dessen was man bekommt, annehmbar. Wenn man in der Nähe ist, kann man dort essen. Sich extra den Weg machen - das würde ich nicht empfehlen. Gesamteindruck: 2 Sterne

Immer schlechter von Zeit zu Zeit. War mal ein bomben Laden, man wurde stets satt ,jetzt sucht man die Fleischstücke in der Lahmacun/Pommdöner .. Schade drum ,aber nicht mehr mein Laden .

Das Dönerfleisch…. Sooooo lecker, wow! Mann wird schnellstmöglich bedient. Im Grunde ist alles gut. Essen kommt schnell und das wichtigste es Schmeckt. Preis/Leistung, auch top! Mann oder auch Frau bekommt genug auf den Teller! 100%‘ige weiter Empfehlung.

Sehr gutes Essen. Lamm am Spieß sehr zu empfehlen auch das Brot mit den Aufstrichen. Das Ambiente ist einfach aber dafür sehr sauber.
