Absolutely top-notch food! You have to be careful with the Kaiserschmarrn, though: a small portion = you'll easily be full, a regular portion = enough for two people :D But you should really treat yourself to the regular portion; it's truly the best Kaiserschmarrn around.

We went to the Tölzer Hütte for the famous Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes) after a hike. When we arrived in the afternoon and saw the large plates, we were certainly excited. However, we were quickly disappointed when, for the three of us, we weren't even served half a portion. We had ordered a standard portion, but apparently received a small one. When we asked the waiter, he confirmed with a look that it was only a small portion, even though the order, which he had specifically checked, had been booked for a standard portion. We were then brought another portion, but combined, it was still not as large as the standard portion, which we had seen several times before. Furthermore, the additional portion consisted mostly of small pieces and leftovers, which were covered with a lot of powdered sugar. As it turned out, the kitchen closed at 4 p.m. and apparently they weren't producing enough for the remaining guests; we weren't the only ones affected by this scam. When we asked the waiter about it, he simply said there must have been a mix-up in the kitchen. I've never been lied to so blatantly in a restaurant. I can only give one star for this outrageous behavior, as it ruined the entire meal. It's a real shame; the few large pieces were really tasty. Apparently, you can only come here until lunchtime to avoid getting ripped off.

Kaiserschmarrn is the best ever. The food and service are top-notch. It's just that you can't really hike much afterward. It's better to do it beforehand. 🤪

It's 3:41 p.m., and after a long hike, we naturally wanted to go to the hut for the famous Kaiserschmarrn. Opening hours are supposed to be until 5:00 p.m. When we finally got there, they were already closed. A real shame!

On August 13, 2025, we visited Brauneck for the third time, and as always, we finished with Kaiserschmarrn at the Tiroler Hütte. This time, it wasn't quite as fluffy as expected; in some places, it was almost like scrambled eggs. But the taste was excellent, as always, so I still highly recommend it. Great service, all very attentive and extremely friendly. This isn't something you'd take for granted, especially where it's bustling practically all day. So, a special thank you for that 😊

The Tölzer Hütte on the Brauneck is known for its Kaiserschmarrn (smothered pancakes) and generous portions, so it's worth going out for a meal on the mountain. Unfortunately, almost everything was the same today. The service, including Paula, was excellent, as always! The portions, as already described, but... ...the frying oil was, in my opinion, no longer acceptable today, with the corresponding consequences. Since this has never happened to us before, I'm blaming it on the bad weather of the last few days and today. We'll be back anyway and report back... Best regards from WM Update 08/01/2025: Unfortunately, my problems got even worse today due to the "oil," and I can't really recommend the restaurant at the moment. On the positive side, the schnitzels are still pounded.

Good food at reasonable prices.

The food is very good. We had four different dishes, and all were excellent. Even though the hut was full, the service was friendly and professional, and we didn't have to wait long. Plus, a delicious buttermilk in this beautiful location—what more could you want after a long hike?

We stayed at the hut as a family! A superbly maintained hut with friendly, attentive staff! My son had an extra-large burger. Juicy, melted cheese, homemade minced meat. The burger came with their own dressing. Fries with a little basil salt. I had plain ragu schnitzel. The meat was cooked to perfection, not dry, but freshly cooked. The pepper added a good, natural dignity. The cream sauce was homemade. My daughter's cheese spaetzle came with creamy cheese and firm spaetzle. But the absolute dream at the hut is the Kaiserschmarrn with extra eggs. The apple puree was not too sweet and slightly tart. The portions were also super large, making it a good value for such a restaurant and location. Thanks to the chef; we had a fantastic day of hiking with a wonderful ending in the hut! THANK YOU!

We were guests at the Tölzer Hütte on May 13, 2025. It was simply wonderful. The weather was great, the atmosphere was fantastic, the staff super friendly, and the food was excellent. The sausage salad was truly delicious, and the Kaiserschmarrn was a dream. We'd love to come back.

My XXL burger was still a little raw but otherwise very tasty

Perched on top of Brauneck in Lenggries, this cozy hut is a favorite among hikers—and for good reason! The atmosphere is incredible, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views that make every moment special. The service is warm and friendly, though on sunny days, finding a table can be a bit of a lucky draw. As for the food—absolutely delicious! You’ll just want to keep eating. Can’t wait to go back!

Were guests on May 1st. The hut was overrun due to the good weather and pushed the kitchen and service to their limits, which also led to waiting times. With a little patience and calmness, you can appreciate the extraordinary ambience and see how the service staff put their heart and soul into ensuring that all guests are satisfied. The Kaiserscharnn was extremely tasty and made the children's eyes happy. Unfortunately we didn't have enough cash and card payment wasn't possible, but here too the service responded constructively with a good solution. Since card payment is now standard in huts, a notice at the entrance would have been helpful. I'm already looking forward to our next stop, where I'll also try (and pay in cash) the delicious burgers and iced coffee that the table next door enjoyed. Many thanks to the Tölzer Hütte team.

According to Google and according to the notice, open until 5 p.m. Arrived there at 4:20 p.m. after a sweaty climb over the Längental valley and wanted something to eat and, above all, a cold beer. Even before we sat down we were brushed off with the words: "We were completely robbed today, unfortunately there is nothing left." When we asked if we could have at least two beers and two pretzels (we also said that we didn't come by train like most people), the answer was no and there was no beer left. That's annoying, especially because on May 1st, 2025 this was the only one of all the huts on the Brauneck that was open (perhaps the innkeepers can agree on who is open when). What really annoyed us was the fact that the waitress simply lied to us. On the one hand, drinks and food continued to be served to guests who were already seated, and on the other hand, shortly afterwards another waitress asked us what we would like and it turned out that not everything was empty. When asked about this, the other waitress replied that she had been instructed not to take any more orders. But that's not possible if it says everywhere that the hut is open until 5 p.m. and it's only 4:20 p.m. Imagine that these gentlemen would like to buy their ingredients in the local supermarket, which according to the notice is open until 8 p.m., and nothing will be sold to them at 6:10 p.m. because everything is supposedly empty. There would certainly be a lot of screaming. Overall, this is such disgusting behavior that, thank God, we have never encountered at any other mountain hut. We will definitely never go there again. We are from the region and will also describe this behavior to all of our mountain sports-loving friends and relatives. My wife's bad review also comes 🤮

How nice that there are still places where the hardships of our time (lack of staff, lack of guests, what else do I know...) seem to pass by without a trace. Everything is done right here: On a busy ski Saturday with great weather and a full terrace, we ordered 2 smash burgers, which were served within 15 minutes. What can I say, the burgers were some of the best I've eaten so far. Very light and juicy patty, cooked to perfection. Many a burger joint can do that. Last time I ordered the Kaiserschmarrn. It took a long time but it was worth it: a mega portion, wonderfully caramelized and baked until golden brown. Hammer!

I was there 2 weeks ago and I always enjoy it. The best Kaiserschmarrn I have ever eaten and there have been many. I've already recommended that a few people try it. Duck with red cabbage and potato dumplings (special dish due to the fair) and beef goulash (strongly seasoned) with bread dumplings were very good. There was pumpkin seed oil in the side salad. This is certainly a matter of taste. I enjoyed it.

I always enjoy coming here. Nice view and good food. The Kaiserschmarrn deserves 10/10 points from me. If you would like to walk up from the valley, you should start in Wegscheid. The tour is much nicer than from Lenggries.

After a strenuous hike from Lenggries over the Hinterer Leitenberg and the Loghamalm to the Brauneck, I had to stop at the Tölzer Hütte. The friendly waitress didn't promise me too much when she recommended the Kaiserschmarrn. The Kaiserschmarrn tasted sensational and I will enjoy the rusticity, the peace and the view again and again in the future! 👍🫶😎 Yesterday, September 5th, 2024, I went to the Tölzer Hütte again after a hike and I would like to add that 5 stars are still deserved. Despite the rain, the food, again the Kaiserschmarrn, was very good, the service staff were always friendly and relaxed and always with a smile on their faces. There was even time for a photo. 👍🗻🌞🗻

Why do I keep coming here? Because everything just fits. From front to back. No matter how full the hut is, I have never experienced bad service. The Kaiserschmarren is simply the best in the area, and the menu leaves no other (impossible) wish unfulfilled, plus extremely fair prices. All in all, always a little vacation for the soul. Please stay as you are, I'm already looking forward to the next time.

Large portions, delicious selection of dishes

Good cake and large selection of drinks. Unfortunately I can't say anything more because when we visited the kitchen was already closed over an hour before the official closing time (Friday during the summer holidays). Particularly annoying if you're really hungry after a 7-hour tour to the Benediktenwand and back and would probably have eaten everything.

Today we stopped at the Tölzer Hütte in the Brauneck hiking and ski area after walking the Great High Trail. And what can I say, I ate the best Kaiserschmarrn in the world. So so so delicious. The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming that we definitely want to come back soon. It's about a 15-minute walk to the cable car and you have a beautiful view no matter where you sit. An absolute recommendation

On a Sunday we walked the short distance from the “Bergbahn Brauneck” to the “Tölzer Hütte”. Since this felt like the first alpine pasture from the mountain station, there was understandably a lot going on here. You had to wait a long time for your orders, but given the location and surroundings you can accept that. The “schnitzel” was quite good. The “spinach dumplings” and the “fries” also tasted very good. However, the “side salad” wasn’t my cup of tea. But the highlight was by far the “Kaiserschmarrn”. This was simply excellent and probably one of the best I have ever eaten.

A very very nice location. You can also hear the cowbells from the calves 50 m away. Inside and outside of the hut, a radio station is playing very loudly all the time. I'm out here in nature and I don't want to hear all that noise. So I refrained from eating anything. There are other huts where this is not the case. That wasn't the case before

Actually we just wanted to drink something, but when we saw the food we couldn't help but order something too. Super tasty Kaiserschmarrn and the Wiener Schnitzel was really good.👍 Thanks to the nice service and keep it up, a very good price/performance ratio.

Today we visited the Tölzer Hütte in beautiful weather. We were immediately greeted very friendly with a smile by the service and escorted to the table. All the service staff were relaxed and really friendly. Sufficient time was taken for a short conversation or excursion tips for non-locals. The food was very, very tasty and more than sufficient. The Kaiserschmarrn was just a dream 👍🏽🤩 and really recommended. I have rarely eaten such good Kaiserschmarrn and I also love cooking, but I can't manage this culinary experience. What I personally was more than impressed with was the condition of the sanitary facilities/washrooms. Very clean and tidy and lovingly designed (e.g. ambience or the cute changing table). Unexpectedly great hut, the ambience is Bavarian modern and is skilfully accompanied by the great food. Here the boss still cooks himself and you can taste it too. The Kaiserschmarrn is world class and the service is casually competent. Prices more than reasonable. Thank you very much 😊

We came here with 5 children and 5 adults. The hut hosts were very friendly and helpful even though we had so many children with us. The food was also very good and the portions were more than sufficient and everything was homemade. The Kaiserschmarrn was excellent.

On our trip to Brauneck we stopped at the Tölzer Hütte, which is easily accessible on foot from the mountain station and offers a wonderful view of the surrounding area. Best Kaiserschmarn EVER!!! One portion is almost enough for three person, but definitely for two, so be careful! :) The staff is friendly, and altough we were sitting outside because of the view, the Hütte looks very nice, cozy and authetic in the inside too! Highly recommended! (Pun intended)

Price performance... Mega!!!! Good simple cuisine, really nice staff.... The location is of course a dream.

I left hungry again after 1.5 hours! I ordered a Kaiserschmarrn. It's clear that it takes 20-30 minutes. After an hour I politely asked for the first time whether I had been forgotten. "No, it's still coming! It only takes up to an hour for Kaiserschmarrn!" But this wasn't mentioned when ordering. But when all the other tables that came after us also received their Kaiserschmarrn, I asked twice more. Then it was explained to me that my Kaiserschmarrn was delivered to the wrong table. But instead of just bringing the next one to me, everyone else was served first. After 90 minutes we had enough, we paid and, at least I, left hungry. Mistakes happen, but when they happen you have to deal with them correctly and solve them quickly instead of listing all the reasons why they happened. The fact is, we waited 90 minutes, didn't get any food, went home hungry and will never go there again.

We didn't have the best weather for mountain hiking these days, so we saved ourselves the long climb and took the gondola up! But it was still worth it! The view wasn't ideal but it was interesting. And the stopover as the highlight made everything worth it for us. Very friendly service, food and drinks were very good and the prices were reasonable! So always recommended.

There were four of us there on the Pentecost weekend. We found a comfortable place right at lunchtime and everything was great. Schnitzel, Kaiserschmarrn and beer were simply perfect after our 4-hour tour and felt incredibly good. The service staff were quick and extremely friendly. It was really fun with you. Nice hut to stop by. Unfortunately, our two hungry children (4 and 6) had to wait over an hour for the Kaiserschmarrn, the mood was low (Kaiserschmarrn is advertised on the noticeboards). The children had to eat their snack from the backpack every now and then. It was half past eleven on a Sunday when we ordered, 15 guests at 4 or 5 tables in total. So it can't be due to an overwhelmed kitchen, we were probably forgotten. No apology or anything like that, when we asked after 40 minutes we were assured it would be ready at any moment, then waited another 20 minutes. Food was good, prices were absolutely fair, therefore not a 1-star rating.

We were guests with 10 people. Service was ok, as was the food, but all guests received their food at different times, our little daughter the cheese spaetzle last. The portion of the Kaiserschmarren was generous and beautifully prepared, but unfortunately the taste was very neutral compared to Austria or South Tyrol. We cannot understand the good reviews. We were surprised by the many prohibition and mandatory signs, which made you feel less like a guest and more like a supplicant. All in all ok, but not a highlight stay.

Were here for Mother's Day brunch in wonderful weather. Very tasty food and charming service. As others have already mentioned, the Kaiserschmarrn was of course a highlight.
