A very nice, cozy place. You can sit inside or outside. Card payments are accepted. The food selection isn't extensive, but it's very good and perfectly seasoned. It's perfectly adequate. The lemonades looked and tasted very good. The staff is very friendly.

A pleasant atmosphere, with books to browse. Outdoor seating is also available. You may have to expect a longer wait before you can place your order or receive it.

A friend booked a table outside, listened to the Kulturarena concert, and enjoyed a delicious dinner. It couldn't be better. We'd love to come back.👍☕🍺👌

Great ambiance inside, wonderfully centrally located yet very quiet in Schillergässchen. Perfect for a relaxing afternoon or evening. It's also delicious.

You must order at the bar, both food and drinks. Since the drinks are prepared fresh and immediately, there can be considerable waiting times, but this is offset by the freshness of the drinks. The food is delivered to your table after ordering and preparation. Simply include your table number with your order.

Here you can find freshly baked cakes and homemade lemonades, among other things. Very tasty 😋

I will be careful not to tell anyone how cozy it is here and how delicious the food tastes and how nice the service is, otherwise it might happen that we won't get a place for our celebrations here either....

Solid and very cozy. The food is quite tasty. Quantities vary, often too little. You have to order at the counter, which can sometimes take a long time, which bothers me a bit. The service is inconsistent. I once received the wrong dish, and then the bread was missing. Especially with the soups, it's not clearly communicated whether they come with or without bread. Overall, it's nice, but the overall package fluctuates a bit, so the service loses a point. I've had a large soup twice the last few times, which is a bit too large for me in terms of quantity. As a woman, I haven't been full either time. But I would expect that, especially since I don't come hungry. So please just serve more (dark) bread in that case. The baguette (2 slices) is super fine, but simply a meal for the tooth. (I know from a bistro where you could help yourself to the amount of bread you needed - I found it perfect.) The soup itself was truly delicious every time. I'd also like to praise the cookies, even though I found the price a bit high. I recently had one (!) macaroon (€2), and I have to say: I've rarely eaten anything so delicious! Respect! I find the place itself super relaxed. There are different seating options – there's something for everyone. The last two times I've been, the music was also good enough to have a good conversation – absolutely important for me and finally adjusted. All in all, a recommendation and a special place in Jena.

Great self-service restaurant, nice atmosphere outside and inside, delicious food and drinks

After an appointment in the city center, I was looking for a hospitable place and found it in the theater cafe. Unfortunately only on the second attempt after I switched on the “pedestrian” Nawi. In the beer garden, away from the street noise, I was able to enjoy a lovingly prepared and delicious bowl in a pleasant atmosphere. The service was very friendly. For me it was no problem that the order and payment was made at the counter. I would be happy to come back.

Cozy restaurant with friendly service. Order food and drinks at the bar, sit inside or out. This place is on the Schiller campus. The food was very tasty, I had the vegan roasted potatoes and salad! Sitting outside with smokers was not an option for me, I hate tasting and breathing smoke at restaurants.

Discovered by chance, after visiting Schiller's garden house you practically fall in. We found it very cozy outside in the small beer garden, it's self-service but that's the nicest anyway. Otherwise there is also a very comfortable guest room for bad weather. We only had something to drink, we can't judge the food. But clear recommendation.

It's definitely the concept that you have to like to pick up your drinks But the food was really good, small menu on the wall and solid home cooking. Drinks are ok too. The ambience matches the name.

Very friendly staff, the cake tastes very good here.

The sulze is great! I highly recommend it. The rumpsteak is delicious too. Love the vibe and decoration. The service is mixed between bar service for beer and table service for food. The downside is that once the place is filled, it’s so difficult to move around, even for the waiters and waitresses. Chairs are put too close together.

Sehr gemütliches, geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Café im stundentisch-künstlerischen Stil. Man kann wundervoll draußen im Schatten sitzen und die Zeit verfließen lassen. Gute hausgemachte Limonaden.

Casi te obligan a comer vegetariano. Un solo plato con carne, y para colmo cocinado de una manera tal que no luce muy apetecible. El Flammkuchen con miel lo recomiendo mucho.

Wir kamen erst nach Küchenschluss, daher kann ich das Essen nicht bewerten. Aber selbst, wenn es ganz schlecht sein sollte, hätte ich für die wunderbare Lage und Athmosphäre 5 Sterne vergeben!

Wir sind "Wiederholungstäterinnen". Nirgendwo gibt es ein urigeres Plätzchen. Super geeignet für einen Moment in Gesellschaft oder auch mal allein. Von Suppe bis Kuchen und unzähligen Getränken, einfach nur lecker und ein großes Kompliment an die Küche. Zudem ein netter und aufmerksamer Service. Wir kommen wieder...

Super leckeres Essen und alles hausgemacht. Das Ambiente hat etwas von Wohnzimmer was echt schön war. Achtung Selbstbedienung kein Tischservice im herkömmlichen Sinne, aber das würde auch am Anfang mitgeteilt. Sehr freundliches Personal und nette musikalische Untermalung

Das Theatercafe gefällt mir sehr! Es hat eine sehr schöne boheme Atmosphäre, die an Cafés von großen Städten denken lässt. Man kann dort eine gemütliche Zeit verbringen mit Leckereien & Co. Mein lieblings Getränk dort ist der Chai Latte!

Die Atmosphäre ist gut, aber das Servicepersonal ist sehr schlecht und die Einstellung gegenüber den Kunden ist ebenso schlecht. Man hat keine Lust mehr, diesen Ort aufzusuchen und für die unprofessionelle Arbeit des Personals zu bezahlen.

Mir gefällt es hier. Gutes Ambiente und altdeutscher Essen das sehr gut geschmeckt hat.

Sehr schöne Location im Herzen der Stadt. In einem ehemaligem Teil des Theaters gelegen präsentiert es sich als individuell gestaltetes Café. Wir haben hier im Rahmen einer geschlossenen Gesellschaft gefeiert. Das Angebote e Essen war sehr gut und man konnte sowohl drinnen wie auch draußen sehr gut sitzen. Die Auswahl an Getränken ist ebenfalls Top. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Melancholisch-lyrische Atmosphäre. Eines Café am Theater sehr würdig. Sehr einladend innen und lauschige auch im Außenbereich. Das Radler schmeckt und die kleine Karte an Speisen reicht meist aus.

Sehr schönes Ambiente. Man fühlt sich wie daheim im Wohnzimmer. Im Sommer kann man schön im Schillergässchen draußen sitzen. Auch sehr für Veranstaltungen zu empfehlen. Sehr gut, um eine Kleinigkeit zu essen und zu trinken. Dabei alles in einer sehr gemütlichen Umgebung. Direkt hinter dem Theater und schräg gegenüber dem Gartenhaus von Schiller - also sehr gut gelegen.

Sehr zu empfehlen. Liebevoll angerichtete und Köstliche Speisen. Und auch überhaupt nicht teuer in anbetracht dessen was auf dem Teller ist. Sehr nette und überaus freundliche Bedienung. Und dazu dieses etwas andere, sehr gemütliche Ambiente laden zum verweilen ein. Grandios wunderbar. Vielen lieben Dank.

Presents as a bar or hotel with dining space. Rooms with walls knocked down to open onto other rooms. Hospitable and accommodating our unexpected large number of guests. Food was average to what I have found in the fusion restaurants here. An odd mix of Thai style description with a distinctly Indian flavour... but very edible.. Always having to buy bottled table water in a place where the tap water is very potable is always a bug bear for me.

Zwar etwas teurer für ein kleines Mittagessen, aber dafür sehr lecker und in einer nicht ganz gewöhnlichen Umgebung. Nächstes Jahr geh ich ganz bestimmt dort noch mal essen.
