Well decorated restaurant. It's tasty but the price is a bit in the higher segment for burgers, fries etc. I find the portion sizes for the side dishes to be too small for the price. Regarding the service: Unfortunately, my drink was forgotten on several visits. Unfortunately my steak was rare. I ordered medium/well. Although it was put back on the grill afterwards, I had to wait a long time for my steak. Unfortunately the creme brulée was below average.

The Togo portions are getting smaller and smaller but more and more expensive👎 now the packaging (which has already become much smaller) is only three quarters full.

The food was incredible and that is an understatement. Super friendly service! Everyone is welcome here! Even without a reservation we still got a nice table but it is recommended to reserve.

Unfortunately I have to say that the price-performance ratio is no longer right! On my first visit, the vegan cake stand was a feast for the eyes and more than plentiful. On the second visit it was no longer so well stocked. On the third visit it was already very clearly stocked and not "just freshly prepared" but rather prepared and ready in advance to ensure quick service. On my fourth and last visit it was borderline and no longer satisfactory, there was very little seasonal fruit on the vegan cake stand, the avocado cream was too chunky, the glass with the lemon curd was only half full. There was also something to complain about with the two classic cake stands. On one of the cake stands the cheese had dried out on the sides, meaning it was no longer fresh, and on both cake stands the seasonal fruit was completely missing. We asked for this and were not satisfied with a ridiculous little bowl, not enough for two people. It's really a shame that things have dropped off so much, you can overlook it for a moment, but when you realize that with each visit the quantity decreases but the price doesn't change or adjust, you feel a bit "ripped off". Otherwise the atmosphere is very nice and cozy, the service is very nice and open, unfortunately my request for a table on the upper floor was not fulfilled because there was a lack of service staff! I accepted and accepted this with understanding.

Very tasty food, also unusual combinations, great restaurant

The food was, as always, excellent. The beetroot carpaccio is a dream! Unfortunately there is a deduction in the service. The person who served us was very attentive and very friendly, but it was simply too much for the gentleman that evening. Food was forgotten and we were often left high and dry.

Very tasty and high quality food. The service is also just perfect and very nice. Children get a puzzle card that is a lot of fun. You just feel completely comfortable and the toilets are also hygienic. By the way, the soap smells like a relaxing bath, which I found very pleasant. The restaurant really deserves the five stars.

We found the atmosphere very nice. Unfortunately the service was terrible, we were asked during the meal if we could leave because there were other guests waiting. Unfortunately, the food leaves a lot to be desired; the portions are quite small for the price.

In my opinion it is completely overrated and the value for money is not right. For the money (around €20-30 just for food) you can get good and/or much healthier food at almost any other restaurant. If you like fries/currywurst, you should go to Neugasse. The P/L ratio is correct.

We were there spontaneously without a reservation and were lucky - since we were traveling without a child, they even thought about where we could sit quietly, which I found very thoughtful. The staff is super nice and accommodating, the atmosphere is great, you sit comfortably and are served quickly. We didn't have to wait long for the food either. We are also thrilled with the taste. Both the burger and the Philly cheese sandwich were very good! A great addition to our other Fritz Mitte locations in Jena ☆☆☆☆☆ Next time we would make a reservation because it was really busy and we were there at a convenient time :)

The ambience is outstanding, stylish and chic atmosphere! The service is unparalleled in Jena: the very competent man at reception recommended that we order a starter or the main course quickly, otherwise some larger tables might order before us. Craziness! In between, there were always questions about whether everything was OK, great tips and recommendations for ordering. The food was really very good, well prepared and very tasty. I really didn't expect this experience! :)

The fanciest Fritz Mitte in jena, located right next to the main building of the University. The decor is wonderful and so is the food. Some lovely fancy burgers and wonderful fries. The salsiccia wurst is so rich and delicious. My favourite was the Bahn mi bao burger with fatty pork belly but they replaced it recently with some thing else. Now I prefer the buttermilk chicken fried burger. Also in the mornings they serve a wonderful breakfast selection. The fresh croissant and French butter is to die for.

An extra portion of mayo costs €1.50, which is far too much. You could sell an extra portion for €0.50 or €0.70, otherwise everything tastes great.

Solid currywurst, tastes good. The portion size of the French fries could be a little larger. It's enough for a midday snack - if you were more hungry your stomach would growl. Apart from that, the price-performance ratio fits. Staff very friendly and attentive.

When you enter the “restaurant”, you are initially in a slightly cramped area. However, this is due to the regular and hearty number of visitors. You get a pleasant feeling walking into an upscale restaurant even though you're looking for "fast food." It is particularly recommended in the evening because of the warm and indirect lighting. Tables, chairs, buildings... the furnishings themselves are well thought out and extremely pleasant. After almost 30 seconds we were greeted (with a smile) and shown to the table. The service is attentive enough to be considered very good in such restaurants. This doesn't give you an uncomfortable feeling and is hardly noticeable when walking through it due to the dark clothing. You could develop the feeling of togetherness... e.g. on a date... The plate that arrived looks like the chefs not only had the right to make decisions, but actually had fun. What was expected was a burger with fries and mayo. However, you get a plate that is visually appealing and divided. Nothing touches or is separate from each other, but on the plate it seems like a whole composition. The shop is basically known positively for its fries and mayo, which is why we go straight to the burger. The rolls are freshly made (probably daily) and extremely buttery. Combined with the buttermilk marinated chicken, without the breading and siracha sauce, you'd almost forget you were even eating a citizen after swallowing it. You develop a satiated, but also satisfied and healthy feeling. (Nothing is difficult to digest in the stomach)

The prices are a bit high but the food and the service were good.

Had a bad day today and had dinner here in the evening. The decor caught my attention as I walked past, which is why I wanted to try this place. The food and drink was very tasty and together with the super friendly service it was really good and saved my day. This is exactly how restaurant visits should be ❤️

We (family) fear that you are not doing yourself any favors with the new location and the new concept. I'm a big fan of Neugasse (among other things, it has the best burger far and wide... who invented this great beetroot burger?) and your little French fries shop. Yesterday we were in Schlossgasse for the first time. Unfortunately, not only the prices but also the offer were not successful in my opinion. I had a trio of sausage and mashed potato salad. The salad was basically not dressed, the mash was just OK and the sausage... oh... everything in small portions at - in my opinion - unnecessarily high prices. For example, why didn't you set a fixed price (in the range of 12 euros) for this trio? On top of that, we had to wait quite a long time despite the moderate number of visitors. The staff was nice though. But... oh FritzMitte... in the future, after this experience, I will only go to Neugasse, eat your damn good beetroot burger with fries and the brutally delicious ice cream dessert. Sorry

Fritz Mitte is definitely my new favorite spot when it comes to delicious fries and exceptional snacks. The selection of sauces is simply huge, and each one is a taste experience in itself. No matter whether classic or unusual – there is something here for every taste! The fries are crispy, perfectly seasoned and always freshly made. I think it's particularly good that attention is paid to high-quality ingredients and sustainable packaging. The service is super friendly, the team works quickly and ensures that you never have to wait long, even when it's full. The portions are generous and the price-performance ratio is absolutely great. If you're out and about in the city and want fresh, delicious street food, you should definitely try Fritz Mitte. I'll definitely be back!

So the food is great! There's nothing to complain about. The portions are also enough to fill you up. The quality is right. The service is very good. BUT! Charging €4.50 for a 0.33ml beer and not having any large beer on offer is very, very questionable. I don't even want draft. But that expensive? €4.50 for a small light is expensive, but it really doesn't have to be. If I drink 3 small ones I could buy a whole case for that price. Especially not when there is a festival in the old town and you can get half a liter of the best Burschenpils for €4, just a 3-minute walk away. Ergo, the food was great, but the beer was completely wrong.

It's been a few days since our girls' night out. But I would really like to share our always very positive experiences. We were in Schlossgasse on August 19th and had such an attentive and nice waitress - it was just a dream! Big compliments to the nice blonde young woman who even asked us shortly before she went on break whether we had any further requests. The food and drinks were delicious and very nicely presented. We would love to come back. Thank you for the lovely evening

Very tasty food, humorous service with sales talent ;-)

First with the good. The ambience has character and frankly the brand itself has a certain charm. The menu is very interesting and original - in itself would be grounds to go regularly. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. Went for lunch and there where about 6 tables being served so not rushed. Party of two and we ordered Spritz drinks as appartivo and then Steaks with sides for main and two deserts. Came to just over Euro 55 per person. Now the downside. We both ordered Steaks Medium Rare - both came out same time as the sides but very very well done. Apologies all round - New Steaks done correctly and an offer of complimentary coffee for the wait. I think this is a real shame as it was actually quite a good meal in the end. I usually do not write reviews but this is the second time I have been there and each time "kitchen chaos" of what looks like untrained, uncoordinated or unfocussed kitchen staff. The fist time breakfast for five and all meal orders came out incorrect coming from the kitchen. I did also leave a generous tip - for the waitress - as all in all was a nice lunch experience remediated very well by her - but she should not have been placed in that position by her kitchen colleagues.

Went for brunch with family and we all enjoyed it. Standard as well as vegan etagerie were great and filled us all up. One star minus because the service was rather slow probably due to understaffing.

Best fries in town! 😉 If you are nearby, you should take a detour there. It's worth it.

The food was absolutely great, as always. My companion, who always pays attention to service, was blown away by the attention of the serving staff. The atmosphere is rustic and absolutely cozy. I'm feeling sick right now and I'm upset about the food. Pre-fried fries that just tasted old and half of them were inedible because they were so hard that I was worried about my teeth. Despite the “tomato sauce”, the ring currywurst just tasted like old oil. The prices are wild and incomprehensible. If you know the original store and what it used to be like and what it should actually taste like, you feel pretty fooled! It no longer has anything to do with what Fritz Mitte once was.

We've been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and no matter what we ordered, it tastes delicious. The eye definitely eats here. The service is also great. Everyone is very nice and takes very good care of the guests. The location reminds me of a beautiful old building living room (in the summer it even has air conditioning, which is very pleasant). I love this place! As soon as I walked in I noticed they use Sonos speakers which is so cool! Very seldom I paid attention to this kind of things in a restaurant but you can see there are a lot of fine details in every corner. The food was spectacular. You have to wait a bit for them but it’s all worth it. I never thought such fine places existed in Jena. I hope to visit again!

I love it there. No matter whether it's for a date in the evening, breakfast/lunch with the ladies or just on your own, you will always be warmly welcomed, the staff is always friendly and the vegan dishes (Beyond Burger - a dream!) are incredibly tasty. Even when the house is full, the waiting times are always absolutely reasonable. One of my absolute favorite places to eat in Jena as a vegan.

I have known the snack bar and the deli for a long time and really like both the appearance and the offerings of both. I was very excited about the restaurant and I have to say that it was difficult for me to give a rating and I fluctuated between three and four stars - unfortunately there is no 3.5 stars. So why three stars? First of all, I was very impressed by the atmosphere! The restaurant is wonderfully individual, tastefully and attractively furnished, from the napkins to the open kitchen. I found the menu very exciting and the service was great! Our waiter looked after us in a very approachable and friendly but at the same time professional way, which suited the ambience, the appearance and also the prices. Until the drinks we were at five out of five stars. However, the restaurant lost it for us when it came to food. I had the Caesar chicken salad with fried chicken breast balls, the size and presentation of which simply didn't match the price. I definitely expected more! My partner had a fillet steak which comes with no side dishes. All side dishes must be ordered separately. Among other things, he chose a side salad and it came in such an incredibly small bowl that I couldn't believe they were serious. The filet was great! But the surroundings simply didn't bring much joy and unfortunately damaged the overall experience. Service and good quality should have their price, but it should also be enjoyable and satisfying. If you start to eat your fill of bread - which of course you also pay extra for - then I think there is something wrong with the portion sizes and unfortunately that takes away the joy. If I could, I would like to see a change there, because basically it's a really nice restaurant.
