The Harp in Hannover

Best burger joint (and beer, of course) in the region. Very friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, great evenings like the quiz. We always enjoy coming here to wash away the stresses of everyday life with a really good burger and a pitcher or two. I like the place so much that I even wear a Harp hoodie (because they've discontinued the Poo shirt), and of course, we also have Harp glasses at home—harpcore, so to speak. We might even build a small replica of the Harp in our barn...

Cool atmosphere. Outstanding food.

Very tasty, but too loud and uncomfortable. The service was overwhelmed because there were too many guests and too few people.

Mega burgers and great beer menu.

Every two weeks, a special burger arrives here, and it's truly something to behold! A wide variety of creations, some of them gigantic, await you here. But the rest of the menu is also impressive! Even more delicious burgers, a wide selection of drinks, and arguably the best nachos in town! The burgers here are not only the best burgers, but also generally damn good food! But please make a reservation a few days in advance!

The main thing here is burgers in different variations. But they are really tasty. Side dishes such as fries cost extra, but they also taste very good and are available in different versions. The service was nice and friendly. Orders came quickly. There is a small deduction for the ambience in the back. Although this part creates space for many guests, it looks like a basement pub with beer tent sets. In principle, this should only apply to autumn and winter. Otherwise it is a beer garden directly on the Leine. In summer there should be a completely different atmosphere.

Great selection of burgers and beer! The burgers are large and very tasty. The sides here are also delicious. The only thing is that the service is a bit slow, but that's understandable given the number of customers (which speaks for itself!)

First time there. Amazing. Lovely. Dominik was by far the best of the evening, and the burger was still a 10/10. He recommended the Sloppy Joe, and God, it was good. But, as I said, the service was as good as you'd ever get. Best wishes, we'll be back.

The food was great, the concept very questionable... there was only a limited time for the reservation. All well and good. Since the food arrived very late, it felt like we only had 15 minutes to eat. Before we could finish, the waiter came over and said something along the lines of the next guests and asked if we were about to finish. Well, what else can you say...

A visit to The Harp is on the must-do list for every trip to Hanover. Top-notch burgers in a quaint Irish bar. The Machete Double Crunch is highly recommended.

Without a doubt the best burger, and in my opinion, the best food in Hanover. Without a doubt! Always amazing food, great drinks, and terrific service. You should make a reservation in advance, as it's always busy, but eating here is definitely a must. Simply lovely!

Nice Irish pub with incredibly delicious food, very friendly staff, and great music. As far as I know, they always have a changing "Ehrenburger," or special creations. For example, they had a burger with meat, peanut butter, ice cream, and bananas. And it was actually delicious! 😅 You can check out what's currently on offer on Instagram. I spontaneously stopped in here at 9:15 p.m. and was lucky and kindly able to order something even though the kitchen closes at 9:30 p.m. I even got a really nice table. There was a pub quiz going on and it was exciting to hear the results 😊 The team was extremely friendly and kept checking to see if everything was okay! Overall, it was a really nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, I wasn't hungry enough to try a burger, but maybe next time! My fries and Caesar salad were also really tasty. I'd love to come back when I'm in Hanover.

My husband and I recently visited this restaurant, and I decided to leave my very first review – it was that good! These were hands down the best burgers we’ve ever had, and the truffle fries were absolutely fantastic! The service was warm and welcoming, and overall, the place is just lovely. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

In my opinion, the best burgers in town and arguably the best fries in Lower Saxony. Very friendly staff. Fast and reliable ordering, and despite the restaurant being busy, the food arrived pretty quickly! The burgers are a good size, very flavorful, and well-filled. The fries, you'll be surprised; they're the best you can get; the toppings are amazing. (It's basically a main course in itself.) The ambiance is good, but it loses a point because the winter garden/beer garden in summer is also a beer garden. And unfortunately, it's covered in summer too. Otherwise, simply very, very good! Give it a try!

I've enjoyed going there every week for over two years. The staff is attentive and always in a good mood. You can tell they're a team. The burgers are amazing; you have to try them (vegetarian options are also available). The mac & cheese is incredibly good. I was only disappointed once, because they didn't serve Herri 🤷🏻‍♂️ The only criticism I could make is that it closes too early, but I completely understand that as an employee, you don't want to be standing there from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. ❤️

The best burgers I've had in a long time. The service was quick and friendly, and we had a great time. A creaky wooden floor and a pleasant pub atmosphere made for a great evening. It was packed, and the atmosphere was excellent. The Capitol is directly across the street, and the Leine River is right next door. If you want something more to drink, you can walk straight to the tram, less than 10 meters away. Be sure to pre-order; two-hour time slots are often available.

The best burgers in town and really good beer! Keep it up!! Unfortunately, I have to adjust my review: I had a very unpleasant experience on my birthday last November. The table had been reserved for 15 people months in advance. We were assigned a table with 15 people that could have fit a maximum of 12. We were sitting in a very cramped and "squashed" space, which was unfortunately very uncomfortable. I can understand that it's always busy here, but if you reserve months in advance for your birthday, then even the harp can handle it, that's my opinion. Many of my guests complained about it afterward when they checked out, and the service really didn't care at all; they just shrugged their shoulders. They could have at least bought us a round of shots or something, but no, unfortunately, nothing like that, not even an apology. Very disappointing. Additionally, these days you can only get a table for a maximum of 1.5 hours. Sitting comfortably, eating in peace, and drinking a few beers has become virtually impossible, because the moment you're finished eating, the waitress practically comes around the corner to remind you that you only have 15 minutes left. It's a shame that maximizing profits seems more important to you these days than satisfied guests. I think two-hour slots would be appropriate (and that's how it was until recently). Otherwise, the food and drink selection, as well as the service, are still great, but this experience has unfortunately permanently tarnished our otherwise positive impression of the Harp.

We are absolutely thrilled. We've been here several times, and every time we feel immediately at home. The food is consistently fantastic – whether it's burgers, fries, or the many vegetarian options – everything is fresh, made with love, and simply delicious. But what really makes this place special for us is the service, and above all: Klaus. Klaus is not only attentive and professional, but radiates such genuine warmth that you immediately feel welcome. He remembers faces, always has a smile on his face, and manages to strike just the right tone: relaxed, friendly, and with a great deal of sensitivity. You can just tell that someone here works with real joy and passion. Thank you for so many wonderful evenings with you, and especially thank you to Klaus, who shapes this place with his personality. For us, The Harp has long been more than just a restaurant or pub – it's a place where you feel at home.

A very good pub. The Kilkenny is highly recommended. The service is very friendly and authentic. German is also spoken. The food is really good and the portions are very generous. The only downside was the outdoor area, which was extremely hot, and there was no way to eat in the cool bar area, apparently because there weren't enough staff.

It's one of the best pubs I've ever been to, not just in Hanover but in Germany. The food, especially the burgers, are so delicious you'd think you were in a burger joint. The cocktails and long drinks are also extremely well-mixed and taste fabulous. Bottom line: I highly recommend it to everyone, and you're missing out if you don't come here.

The Harp is a successful blend of burger restaurant and Irish pub. It's super cozy—they have a great selection of Irish and British beers, and the burgers are incredibly delicious. We love coming here. But be sure to reserve a table!

If God loves burgers, then he's kissed "The Harp." A taste experience that can't be surpassed in perfection. Everyone should go here at least once in their life.

I'd love to give it more than 5 stars. We've been there many times and we simply can't say anything negative. The staff is super friendly, the place has a cool atmosphere, and the food is absolutely amazing; in our opinion, the best burgers in Hanover. With a changing menu, it never gets boring. Even when the place is fully booked (which is always the case, so be sure to make a reservation), you never have to wait long for your food. We'll be back as soon as possible!

Four of us went there on a Wednesday evening. We were greeted rather rudely and asked why we'd just sat down. It was in a beer bar! We were then ignored and moved on to the next bar, which served delicious beer. The Harp is being crossed off our bar list.

The food was delicious and the price was reasonable. My mac and cheese side order with my burger was so huge that it was enough for another meal the next day. Highly recommended. But don't forget to make a reservation.

Wir waren auf Empfehlung hier und es hat sich wirklich gelohnt. Die Burger sind der Hammer und die Atmosphäre typisch „Pub“ . Wir hatten den Cosa Nostra Burger und Crystal Mett Burger 🍔 dazu Newcastle Brown Ale . Es hat sogar ohne Tisch Reservierung geklappt. Ein tolles Team . Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder .

Even though it was very loud and difficult to understand each other, the visit in February was really great. The food was fresh, extremely tasty and the quality of the stay was good. The service worked very quickly and quickly despite the restaurant being full. Never had such a good experience in Hanover as in TheHarp. Would love to come back.

I had been to The Harp for the first time many years ago and I have to honestly say that the quality of the food is still of a very high standard! It was super tasty. The only thing you have to like is that the music style of the place is very rocky, but you can ignore that because it's worth going there just for the taste explosion that this burger delivers. ☺️

I was there for the first time yesterday and was thrilled. We sat at the back in the beer garden and the burgers were great, along with the hangover fries and a nice pale ale. The best burgers in Hannover, and the best fries. I can especially recommend truffle fries. Orders are usually prepared in ten minutes or even faster, so it's the ideal place even if you don't have much time. It's loud inside the main area, but it's how it's supposed to be in an Irish pub. The terrace is quieter and actually suitable for talking.

This was our first time at The Harp and we absolutely loved it! The burgers were simply delicious, for me the best burgers in all of Hanover! The cheese sauce that we ordered with it was also really tasty. The staff is super friendly and quick. We'll definitely be back!

Was touted to me as the main citizen, the taste was good, it was also well seasoned. In my opinion it's a good pub burger, service was tried hard but it was really busy, in my opinion the mountain had no depth and was pretty empty. Apparently we were a bit too busy

5 stars – AND IF I COULD, I WOULD STEAL AND GIVE ANOTHER STAR FROM HEAVEN ITSELF!!! I was at The Harp – and nothing has been the same since then. I thought I had already eaten good burgers. I thought I knew what taste was. But no. I was an unsuspecting creature wandering through life until this restaurant opened the door to the sacred dimension of taste explosions. The burger. My God. THE BURGER!!! I order. Expectations: normal. What do I get? A revelation. A divine composition of buttery brioche bun that wraps around the meat as gently as a loving hug from your grandma after you haven't visited in ten years. The patty? People. That wasn't a patty. This was a symphony made flesh. Juicy, smoky, perfectly medium - as if a Michelin star chef himself had kissed each fiber individually before putting it on the grill. And then the sauces. I don't know what they're mixing in there. Magic? Tears of a unicorn? There's something in there that's shooting straight into the limbic system. Every bite was like a Hans Zimmer soundtrack in your mouth. My taste buds stood at attention and saluted. I literally got goosebumps when the cheese ran over the patty. Really now. The fries? Crispy, golden brown, perfectly seasoned. I briefly considered whether I should apply for citizenship in a basket of fries. Even the mayo had personality. The ambience: Rustic, cozy, with a vibe that feels like someone is about to pour a pint of Guinness and tell you an epic story. I felt like the main character in a culinary fantasy epic. And the staff? So friendly that I thought I had accidentally been welcomed into the family. Conclusion: I went outside, sat on the curb and just took a deep breath. What did I just experience? I don't know exactly. But I know: I will come back. Again and again and again. The Harp is not a restaurant. It is a place of pilgrimage for Burger believers. If you're reading this: Go. There. There. And say hello to the burger from me. I love him.

Old Swede, what was that? I just came out of the harp and I'm totally amazed. What an awesome shop! Even though it's packed, the people are super nice and make it possible and find a place for us. It's very pleasant here, we feel totally at home. The selection of beers is fine. My favorite: hophouse lager. Wonderfully hoppy. Tastes like a green hop pilsner, which is difficult to find in this country. And then the burgers: They are simply delicious!! I think this was the best burger I've eaten. And then the baked fries. I don't know exactly what they're doing with it. Cucumber, bacon, onion, cheese, something like that. I could have fooled myself, really awesome. Was a great evening. We'll definitely come back more often...
