The ASH Frankfurt in Frankfurt am Main

I was there with my company on Saturday for the Christmas party. It was a very pleasant atmosphere; Marion particularly stood out to us with her courteous and friendly manner.

Ash is truly excellent! My partner and I were looking for a nice restaurant in Frankfurt and came across this one. The first impression upon entering is very appealing and inviting. The restaurant is spacious and modernly furnished. The stylish background music perfectly complements the ambiance and ensures a pleasant experience. We ordered a medium-rare beef fillet and truffle pasta with chicken. The steak was exceptionally tender and incredibly delicious. The truffle pasta was honestly the best I've ever eaten, with perfectly cooked chicken and wonderfully al dente pasta. The truffle flavor wasn't overpowering, but just right, making your mouth water. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. It's definitely worth the price!

American Brunch on Sunday We went to The Ash yesterday, and I've rarely eaten so badly—especially at these prices. The entire meal was cold, dry, and uninspired. No texture, no flavor, nothing you'd expect from a restaurant like this. The TikTok and Instagram hype is completely unjustified. The creators must be logged in, and the videos do NOT reflect what's actually offered. For me, today was an expensive and disappointing experience that in no way lived up to the online hype. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it at all.

We had a large group stay at your establishment over the weekend! From the welcome to the food and drinks, we were completely satisfied! I would especially like to commend Mr. Janosch's service! His warm and attentive manner greatly enhanced our stay! He was quick, considerate, and exuded a calming presence. His colleagues were also very friendly! It's rare to find employees like Mr. Janosch in the hospitality industry these days! We are very impressed! 👍♥️ We will definitely be back! 👍👍

We had a truly wonderful evening at the restaurant on November 28, 2025! The food was outstanding – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I'd especially like to commend our waiter, Janosch. He was the perfect blend of attentive, warm, and professional. Drinks were served promptly, special requests were fulfilled without hesitation, and we felt completely welcome and well taken care of. We went to The ASH in Frankfurt on a Sunday in mid-November. Our reservation was for 4 pm, but we arrived a few minutes early and there were plenty of free tables. We were seated immediately. The table was next to the restroom door, but the discreet partition made it perfectly fine. We already had the menus because the server who showed us to our table had given them to us. However, she didn't want to take our drink order, which I found a bit disappointing. It then took longer than necessary for someone to come and take both our food and drinks, especially given how few people were there. The drinks arrived quickly, as did the food. And it was really excellent. Good portions, very reasonable for the price and the location. After the meal, the table was cleared promptly. However, when we asked for the bill, it took an unnecessarily long time. The waiter didn't seem to be in a hurry and chatted leisurely with a colleague at the bar, then cleared another table and sorted menus before returning to us. The restaurant was at most a third full, so this was hard to understand. We had to go to the Alte Oper (Old Opera House) and would have liked to leave a bit earlier, but in the end, we made it just in time. All in all, a nice restaurant with very good food and a great atmosphere, but there's room for improvement in the service. We would still come back.

Today, the four of us – along with a business partner – dined at The Ash in Frankfurt and were unfortunately disappointed on several occasions. The service was completely unacceptable. Several cocktails, such as a Margarita and a Basil Smash, were unavailable, and we weren't even offered alternatives. When the drinks finally arrived, two of the glasses had visible cracks. This should have been noticed immediately by the staff. Our US T-bone steak was also disappointing. The tenderloin was almost entirely fat and inedible. After speaking with the manager, we were simply told that this was normal for a T-bone. Despite our pointing this out – we regularly dine at various steakhouses in Frankfurt – there was no acknowledgment or attempt to make amends. The service didn't improve at the end of the evening: we weren't even given a goodbye. Overall, the entire experience felt inattentive and unprofessional. All in all, it was a truly disappointing visit in terms of service, quality, and customer care. A real shame, as we had expected much more. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend The Ash.

The ASH is a chain of restaurants with locations in several cities. This review therefore only applies to The Ash Frankfurt, as I haven't yet had the chance to experience the others. Why? Yes, it's a steakhouse. Steakhouse means that meals can be quite expensive. I was there with a friend, intending to treat ourselves to something really nice. I unfortunately ordered the last available tomahawk steak, as they had run out of US flank steak by lunchtime after what must have been a busy Friday evening. If I have any criticism, it's that. Some reviews here mention unfriendly staff. I absolutely cannot confirm this experience. On the contrary, I experienced one of the best service I've ever had, and one that was commensurate with the price range. (Disclaimer: The restaurant wasn't very busy at lunchtime.) The service was extremely attentive, accommodating, and quick. After the appetizer arrived, we practically didn't have to wait at all. The room is incredibly bright, the armchairs (not chairs) are more like half-sofas and therefore extremely comfortable. It feels like dining in an upper-middle-class American diner, as it doesn't feel overly fancy. Not everyone has to indulge in an appetizer, tomahawk steak, and dessert here; there's something for every budget: the burger happy hour, for example, sounds very appealing. If I trust any place to serve American-inspired burgers, it's The ASH!

I had an evening tonight that I won't soon forget. Katrin was more than "just" service to me—she was like a combination of waitress, psychologist, and guardian angel. I have celiac disease and often experience stress when eating out. But Katrin took so much time to listen to me, take my questions seriously, and clarify everything thoroughly. She went into the kitchen several times, checked everything, and explained step by step what I could safely eat. I felt completely understood and well cared for by her, even with all the mental chaos swirling around in my head. Thanks to her, I was finally able to eat a relaxed, safe, and gluten-free meal again and truly enjoy the evening. Katrin, you didn't just do your job. You gave me back a piece of my quality of life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💛

We all went to Ash together tonight, and the evening started off really well. The appetizers that were recommended to us were incredibly delicious, and the house wine was surprisingly good. We did have to wait a little longer for the steaks, and for a moment we thought, "Hmm, maybe we should have ordered burgers," but in the end, the steaks were absolutely fantastic and totally worth it. Ali, our waiter, was really great. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and kept us in good spirits, I have to say. For dessert, we had apple crumble – absolutely delicious. We'll definitely be back.

We went to The Ash for Sunday brunch last Sunday. We were greeted very warmly and in good spirits by the staff and shown to our reserved table. The friendly server immediately asked if it was our first visit and explained everything we needed to know. Our drink order was taken and brought quite quickly. Unfortunately, our latte macchiato was only lukewarm, but it tasted good, and they even accommodated our request for oat milk. The buffet is well-organized, with something for everyone. I didn't notice a selection of vegan dishes. One small point to note: some of the hot dishes were also only lukewarm. The exceptionally friendly staff deserves special mention. After eating, we sat at the table for a while and chatted. At no point did we feel like they were trying to charge us so they could reassign the table. A lovely Sunday morning; we'll definitely be back.

We went to the restaurant yesterday and were very disappointed. Although we arrived only 15 minutes before our reservation, the woman at the entrance tried to turn us away – even though there were plenty of free tables. Several guests without reservations arrived after us and were seated immediately. In the end, we were seated right next to the exit door, where it was drafty. No friendly welcome and, despite our reservation, an uncomfortable spot – a real shame, we had imagined our evening there would be different.

We were in Frankfurt for the CPHI and met with our Chinese business partners at ASH. The atmosphere was excellent and perfectly suited for a business dinner in a relaxed yet stylish setting. The food, especially the sharing steaks, was outstanding. Our waiter, Ali, provided exceptional service throughout the evening and contributed greatly to the positive experience. We also enjoyed engaging conversations about Brazil and China, which added a personal touch to the evening. Overall, an excellent experience that we can highly recommend.

Ali was mad chill. Funny dude, easy to talk to, made the whole thing feel super relaxed. It didn’t feel like some fancy dinner thing, more like good food with good people and good vibes.
