This restaurant is a classic! No matter when I'm here with my boyfriend. The quality and service is always extremely good. 5 stars are not enough here.

Rightly a Frankfurt institution - fine cuisine is very tasty!

Overpriced. 2 elderly waiters were fine. The other waiter was rude and kinda forced us paying for 10% tip when we pay. That’s not fair. Just rude. Don’t want to go back there. Period. Don't go here. It's unfriendly, expensive and not very good. The staff was unfriendly and I felt dirty after spending so much money.

I loved it! The food was great and so was the workers. The spot was so nice. I got the monkfish, which was so good. It’s a great place for everyone.

The location is simply great. We've been eating at Ladder for at least 30 years and have never been disappointed. The quality of the food and the attentive staff are always consistently good - achieving this is a fine art. We will continue to visit you often and highly recommend you. We have been visiting the restaurant for more than 30 years and have found both the food and service to be excellent. Today we were disappointed. When we made the reservation we were told that we didn't know anyone with our name (we didn't know that it was important to know each other in order to reserve a table) and that we only knew a beetle with dots with that name like us. We said we wanted to reserve a table and not philosophize about bugs. First there was a large plate as a bread plate without a knife. We were supposed to continue eating the bread without a plate because the appetizer was coming. This was communicated to us in a very unfriendly tone. The waiters made strange comments during the meal. Some of the tuna strips in my main course had a sour taste. Some seemed fresh, the other a bit older. The chicory didn't look very fresh and the coriander was a bit sad and brownish. When we got to dessert and asked our American guests for a cappuccino, they were told that you don't do that. As Italians ourselves, we know this isn't common practice, but when guests feel like having a cappuccino after a long trip, it shouldn't result in a disparaging tone. A tip of €18 seemed too little to the staff, as they commented as we left: “Everything was fine. We thought everything wasn't okay." But I would first recommend pouring water and taking empty water bottles with you and replacing them with full bottles.

Zum ersten Mal richtig enttäuscht 😞. Wir waren zu viert und haben alle das Gleiche bestellt, damit es die Küche einfacher hatte. Die Kresse Suppe war lauwarm und das pochierte Ei eiskalt. Naja, Kresse Suppe darf nicht kochen, aber das Ei hätte wenigstens Zimmertemperatur haben sollen. Kam aber direkt aus dem Kühlschrank. Dann haben wir ca 90 Minuten !!! auf den Hauptgang gewartet. Erst nach Nachfragen wurde der Kellner tätig. Portionen absolut überschaubar. Und eine Portion war einfach nicht durch. Sozusagen zäh. Das Personal ging überhaupt nicht darauf ein. Wäre halt ein Naturprodukt. Beim Bezahlen kein Entgegenkommen!! Kein Digestif, kein Espresso aufs Haus. Keine Reduktion der Rechnung! Wir kennen das Lokal seit bestimmt ca 40 Jahren. Haben dort immer zu besondere Anlässen gegessen. ABER so etwas haben wir noch nie erlebt. Kurzum: mega Enttäuschung.

What a great evening! The service was super nice, we were advised down to the last detail and all four of us were allowed to vary our chosen dish, wine advice: perfect! Recommended intermediate courses, ice cream sorbet, always surprisingly great!! Highly recommended!!!, thank you, we will be back 💯%!!

Prices don't match the level of service and food. Solid ambience and solid food. Unfortunately, the food and service lack something special and in my opinion the prices don't justify it.

I really enjoy eating here on special occasions because the food is always excellent and the service is very accommodating.

Unfortunately, the food doesn't taste good, and the hygienic conditions speak volumes (see Consumer Window Hesse). Due to various deficiencies, the restaurant was heavily penalized here. You should think twice about dining at a restaurant that hosts mice.

25 years we come and have dinner with Fernando. Always a pleasure to be welcomed like family. The food is delicious, always fresh and tasty. The place is not big so you feel like home. Special mention to the spaghettini with gamberoni🤩

Everything about this restaurant was excellent. I had both the schnitzel, which was perfectly cooked, and the duck (which my partner couldn't finish). The duck was not greasy (my expectations from having it in the US) and was cooked better than any chicken I've had in any restaurant. The side of German potato salad was also very delicious. With red wine during dinner and port after dinner, the entire meal was superb. The staff were very friendly and were attentive the entire meal.

Food was average. Fillet leader ordered “medium-rare” but received “medium-well done”. Service not very attentive (“cut the meat through and see if you have the right one…”) and slightly annoyed. The prices are really too high for that…

Hier gehe ich sehr gerne mit meiner Familie Essen zu besonderen Anlässen, denn das Essen ist immer hervorragend und der Service sehr zuvorkommend. Ich kann besonders das Steak empfehlen mit der Pfeffersauce, da es wirklich sehr gut ist.

Essen gut, aber Vorsicht mit dem Trinkgeld, hohe Summe wurde automatisch vom Kellner vorgegeben.

Als wir in Frankfurt unseren Urlaub verbrachten, wurde Die Leiter uns empfohlen. Ganz besonders lecker waren Kartoffelpuffer mit Lachs und die Rindfilet in Cognacsosse. Das war eine gute Empfehlung.

Tolles Lokal in Frankfurt. Mit Herzblut betrieben. Die Angestellten sind glücklich und nicht gestresst. Sie sind sehr zuvorkommend und aufmersam - aber das Essen- das Essen verdient mehr als 10 Sterne! Ich habe für das 5 Fache des Preises schon viel schlechter gegessenm Thunfischtartar zu schmelzen.

Die Speisen haben eine ausgezeichnete Qualität. Nur die Auswahl ist etwas beschränkt - es gibt seit Jahren "Standardgerichte" (immer die selben) und alle ca. 3 Monate meist saisonale Gerichte. Die Weinkarte ist auch reichhaltig. Die Preise von Speisen und Getränken sind im "oberen Bereich", d.h. also recht teuer. Der Service ist sehr gut. Nur im Restaurant drinnen ist es sehr eng beim Sitzen.

For many years the one place for Saturday Lunch on the terrace. Never-changing staff is like family. The Best Wiener Schnitzel by far, innovative German- Italian, French kitchen. The best thing is you are never disappointed even after 100 visits. I cannot imagine Frankfurt without Die Leiter. Thank you Fernando, Chester, and all the friends.

Das Lokal mit merkwürdigem Namen (die Geschichte dahinter ist amüsant und wurde mir charmant auf Nachfrage erzählt) hat gute Weine und bietet sehr gute feine Küche mit gut abgestimmten Speisen (eher italienisch-mediterran - aber auch z.B. Schnitzel) - hier sollte man sich tatsächlich Vorspeise, Hauptgericht und einen feinen Nachtisch gönnen. Alles perfekt abgeschmeckt und fein! Nicht ganz günstig - aber für die Qualität auch nicht zu teuer - es lohnt sich! Die Atmosphäre ist entspannt Familiär, der Service herzlich und zuvorkommend. Beim nächsten Besuch in Frankfurt gerne wieder!

Ein gediegenes und sehr gemütliches Ambiente. Sehr netter Service und sehr netter Chef. Erstklassiges Rinderfilet an Cognac-Pfeffersauce. Guter offener Bordeaux und fantastische Mousse au chocolate. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Sehr nettes Ambiente und kleinere, aber tolle Speisekarte, was allerdings für Restaurants dieser Kategorie üblich ist. Sowohl Zubereitung als auch Geschmack der Speisen wunderbar, in Bezug auf Sauberkeit auch nichts auszusetzen und der Service sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Einziger Punkt, was jedoch definitiv kein Kritikpunkt ist, wäre, dass ich mir nicht nur Butter zum Brot sondern eventuell auch etwas Olivenöl mit Salz gewünscht hätte (was allerdings sicher Geschmackssache ist). Gänzlich wunderbar!

Wir waren um 12.20 da und mussten leider 1.5 Stunden auf unser Essen waren. Das Essen war versalzen und die Leute um uns herum hatten leider die gleiche Erfahrung. Der Nachbar Tisch hat ihr Essen zurück geschickt es es versalzen war und ein anderer Tisch hat nach viel zu langem Warten das falsche Gericht erhalten.

Schon soviel Geld dagelassen, nur die Bedienung merkt sich einfach nicht Stamm Gäste 😂 Essen ist wirklich lecker, tolle Weine. Preise etwas zu hoch aus meiner Sicht, dafür allerdings gutes Klientel. Alles ganz unaufgeregt und entspannt dort. Für Business Dinner gut geeignet

This was a short distance from our hotel (Hilton City Centre) in a walking district amongst many outdoor cafes and bars. We sat outside but inside had the same elegant atmosphere. We had gazpacho and parsnip soup, followed by schnitzel and steak with peppercorn cognac sauce. All fantastic. A bit pricey but worth it. Highly recommended.

Ein Klassiker, der Qualität und Service beibehalten hat.

Wie bereits von anderen Gästen angeführt endet die Corona-Pandemie und alle einschlägigen Schutzmassnahmen bzw. Auflagen in Frankfurt am Eingang des Restaurants. Die Gäste müssen beim Betreten keine Maske tragen, ein Impfzertifikat wird nicht überprüft. Die Tische sind dicht an dicht gestellt, Abstandsregeln werden nicht berücksichtigt. Die Bedienungen tragen keine Maske, beim Servieren kommt es ständig zum körperlichen Kontakt zwischen Gast un Bedienungen. Auch wenn die Qualität der Speisen gut ist wird deren Genuss durch die geschilderte Situation deutlich geschmälert. Es stellt sich die Frage warum in Frankfurt die Restaurants durch die Ordnungsbehörden nicht stärker auf die Einhaltung der Hygieneauflagen überprüft werden.

Tische und Bestuhlung extrem eng wie vor Corona . Abstand der Tische max 50 cm !!!! Weder bei der Reservierung noch beim Einlass wurde nach einem Impfnachweis gefragt oder gar ein Nachweis verlangt . Registrierung der Kontaktdaten ebenfalls Fehlanzeige . Weder Gäste noch Kellner!!!! tragen Masken. Absolut nicht zeitgemäß.

Service unfreundlich, beim Fleisch wurde nicht gefragt, wie man es haben möchte, Beilagen total versalzen, Fleisch roh, kam niemand vorbei um zu fragen, ob man einen Wein dazu haben möchte, nach dem Essen brachte der Kellner direkt die Rechnung ohne Kaffee/Dessertnachfrage. Nachdem wir mitgeteilt hatten, dass wir nicht zufrieden waren, kam keine Reaktion, gehen nie mehr.

Wundervolles kleines Restaurant im Herzen von Frankfurt. Ausgezeichnetes Essen. Top Service. Besonderes Flair. Hunde willkommen.

Wir hatten einen netten Abend im Kollegenkreis - der Service war sehr freundlich, alles wurde genau aufgenommen und auch in akzeptabler Zeit serviert. Leider finde ich die Preise zu hoch, das Essen ist zwar gut, aber für den Preis hätte ich noch besseres erwartet.

I have been visiting the restaurant for years and was finally able to visit it again after covid closed everything. The food is fantastic, although not cheap. However, there isn't a restaurant in Frankfurt center that is cheap given comparable food quality. Waiters are unbelievably nice and attentive. It's worth making a reservation for outside especially since we are close to the summer and there is a limited amount of tables available outside. Big advantage, a car park is less than 50 meters away. So no need to look for a parking spot in the busy city or walk for a long distance. A big advantage for women when they are wearing high heels.

Wir haben uns Essen vorbestellt und mit nach Hause genommen, da es zur Zeit nicht anders möglich ist. Es hat wirklich alles sehr lecker geschmeckt, wir werden dies ganz bald wieder nutzen. Von dem Lachs und dem Backhendl waren wir sehr begeistert, alles war sehr fein zubereitet. Gut, dass wir auch an den Wein gedacht haben, er war köstlich - danke! Auch der Nachtisch ist lohnenswert probiert zu haben. Sobald es möglich ist, freuen wir uns dort wieder Gast sein zu dürfen.

Seit Jahrzehnten immer wieder lecker. Man fühlt sich wie zuhause, da es so gemütlich ist und das Personal einfach herzlich und freundlich ist. In diesem gehobenen Bereich ist die Leiter einfach unschlagbar. Das essen ist unvergleichlich gut. Vielen Dank an das Leiter Team. Ich werde immer wieder zu euch kommen.

Für die veranschlagten Preise hatten wir uns mehr erwartet. Die Vorspeisen und Hauptspeisen reichten von okay bis gut, die Nachspeise kam erst gar nicht, stand am Ende aber auf der Rechnung. Preis/Leistung ist schlecht. Der Service grottig.

Die „Leiter“, seit Jahrzehnten in Frankfurt eine Topadresse auf höchstem Niveau. Fernando und sein Team sorgen für Küche und Keller vom Feinsten! Wir bestellten als Vorspeise die Variation von gebratenen Pilzen und den Salat mit Scampi. Sowohl die Pilze als auch der Salat waren perfekt zubereitet. Beides war aber nur der Vorgeschmack auf den Hauptgang. Gewählt wurde das legendäre Schnitzel mit lauwarmem Kartoffelsalat und das Thunfischsteak mit Chicoré auf Kokos Koriandermousse – eine wahre Geschmacksexplosion im Gaumen. Wie immer empfahl uns Luigi dazu einen herrlich leichten Weißwein, einen 2018er Chardonnay von Alois Lageder. Ein herrlich leichter Wein mit ausgeprägter Geruchsnote von reifen Südfrüchten der ein duftend frisches Aroma erzeugt! Als Dessert den Pflaumenknödel mit etwas Marzipanfüllung und Vanilleeis und ein Sorbet mit Waldbeeren. Godiamoci solo il cibo e il vino!!!

Still a favourite of mine whenever I visit Frankfurt. The food remains very good regardless of what you order - all dishes are prepared with great care and are tasty and well presented. The service by Fernando and his team remains on top of the game, personalised service with excellent recommendations. The location is of course assisting in making a meal at Die Leiter even more enjoyable.
