The food was very tasty, but unfortunately the portions were quite small.

It was great. Despite the trade fair (Internorga) and the full hut, the service was super friendly, prompt and attentive. Food and drink absolutely recommended 👍

Good restaurant if you fancy German home cooking and delicious burgers. Prices are very fair for the size of the portions and quality of the dishes. Friendly and quick service. However, you have to be careful that the atmosphere can get louder, as the restaurant is perfect for regulars' tables and similar events.

Kale: Cabbage has little taste, cabbage sausage is good, smoked pork is very dry and has little taste. Pork medallions: dry, potatoes good. Overall, rather disappointing, especially for the not so low prices.

Judging by the food and furnishings, it's a normal Hamburg pub. We were there with 10 people. Unfortunately, 2 of us got gastrointestinal problems, which is unfortunately not possible!

I'm in northern Germany for the first time on business and really wanted to eat and drink something local. My expectations were absolutely met! Will come again!

I like it here: very tasty, traditional cuisine including Labskaus and Königsberger Klopse as well as a very tasty schnitzel. The service is always super friendly and the atmosphere is totally cozy at any time of the day. I've really enjoyed going here for many years.

We were here for lunch today. The menu at the entrance, with a view of good home cooking, prompted us to enter the restaurant. A rustic oak interior design and a friendly employee behind the counter welcomed us. After we sat down in a comfortable corner, the cards would be brought and the order would be taken a short time later. The relatively short waiting time was sweetened thanks to a very good selection of music in the background sound system. The food served was very tasty, in a perfectly adequate portion size and of good quality. In summary: Quaint, friendly, delicious, Price/performance completely ok. Very happy again!

Really nice place to enjoy a classic schnitzel. They also serve different dishes from northern Germany and in the winter have a couple of specials. During the summer, the terrace is huge and almost always full. Really nice place to enjoy a couple of beers.

Good food in a rustic atmosphere We ate at Thämer’s on Großneumarkt on a Friday afternoon. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. The staff was friendly and attentive, although the seating was a bit inconvenient for us as a couple. The beer was really good and the homemade burger was also tasty. However, the tzatziki was a bit too mild, and the burger could have been more careful with the meat - it was a bit more than done, which spoiled the enjoyment a little. Overall, a nice visit with delicious food. We would like to come back to maybe try other dishes.

A nice place to dine with a local menu or in English to help foreigners passing through. Two rooms are available (main entrance to Thamers and in the basement). In both cases, a beautiful atmosphere awaits you for dinner. In the basement, an efficient waiter takes care of the entire room with formidable agility. Choice and copious plates. To recommend.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't that convincing. I had ordered fried fish and unfortunately the fish was a complete convenience product. I would have liked a homemade beer batter because I don't have to go to a restaurant for that. The fried potatoes were very tasty and the atmosphere was very cozy. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio wasn't right for me.

After a walk through the city in really bad weather from the Old Bridge towards Michel, we just wanted to drink something hot. They still found seats for us in the busy restaurant. We were served quickly and friendly. The menu left us wanting more. We then decided to come back for dinner. We ordered beer, red wine, tomato soup, Labskaus, Viennese-style schnitzel, and finally Rote Grütz. Despite the very full restaurant, the waiters exuded a pleasant calm. Everything was beautifully prepared and was very tasty. We had the best impression of very honest cuisine with regionally sourced dishes. That's why Hamburg residents and guests of the city should definitely pay a visit to Thämer's.

Good morning! We reserved 2 seats early, but they were very poorly chosen because some of them were in the passage to the toilet and were extremely annoying. We asked for a better place, which they took offense at! Before this reserved place was taken by the expected guests, we had finished our meal and the innkeeper had no loss! The repeated reference to a tip was of course ignored by us due to the poor service and the indignation of the waitress and the bad mood of the landlord! Roast beef with dry fried potatoes and no tomatoes, or something like that. Very carelessly prepared and moodily served! ~ For me, as a Hamburg resident, who for a long time almost regularly played jazz music on a voluntary basis in the bars with the clarinet and a guitarist on Großneumarkt, it is very sad to see how negatively everything has developed in this (my former favorite bar!) bar! At almost 80 years old, I still enjoy playing everywhere, but certainly never there again! A cozy beer garden! A very cozy and very charming place.. good atmosphere that makes you want to hang around a little longer. Very different food So pancakes and burgers soups. And more drinks.

The decor was quaint and the food was tasty. Either the food is too small for the price or the price is a bit high for the portion size. Unfortunately, I forgot my appetizer and drink, and today it was poorly staffed with two people. The colleagues enjoyed it.

Hamburg original! One of the relatively few places where you can get kale! If you want to eat kale there, ask to get less potatoes and more kale! ;-) It's also really nice to sit outside there in the summer. Overall, the ambience (including inside!) and the service are really good!!!

I really liked the design of the store. The food there is relatively good. Unfortunately, the veggie burger was only moderately convincing. The fried fish, on the other hand, was really great and the fried potatoes were also good.

Superb food, but as a tourist I recommend that you can speak German. Then English was not obvious.

Also there for the guests on public holidays, even if there was a shortage of staff, everything was tried to ensure things ran smoothly. What wasn't so nice was that the drinks only came with the food - that was a long wait. Food was excellent and we will come back when we are in town

Do not come here Waiter was rude and uneducated. Then they take 3 euros tip for threading you like garbage. It could be due to my race or simply incompetence .

Went to Thämer's for the first time because it was highly recommended to us. We were 100% thrilled. We all had three different main courses (meat & fish) and first of all the onion cake. Everything looked very attractive and was well prepared. We had cevapcici, roast beef and the pickled fried herring. Everything was really delicious and the perfectly crispy fried potatoes were exceptionally good. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos, but I'll do so on my next visit. Since we couldn't decide on the wine, we were allowed to try both. I was also allowed to simply change my side dish. This is where great food meets really great service. You just have to say that professionals are at work here and they do it with heart. Both employees know their craft. I haven't experienced such exceptionally good service in a long time. I don't think I need to emphasize that we will be back. Thank you for everything!!!!!

Very good restaurant. Super delicious food. Had the Viennese style schnitzel and was able to try the herring with the fried fish and potato salad and everything was extremely tasty. The staff is very accommodating and happy to accommodate requests such as more sauce. Gave a friend a new knife after it was covered in sauce without us even thinking to ask. Can only be recommended!

We were there for lunch with colleagues. The food was super tasty (fried potatoes, meatloaf). It was very crowded, which is why we waited quite a long time for the waitresses. But in my opinion the food was worth it.

A restaurant with a lot of potential, but... Positive: Decoration and interior authentic, candles and flowers on the tables, service very friendly, the dishes just okay. This could be improved: - The impression arose that the waiters had no professional training for the catering business, the men's clothing was very different and had no signs of anyone working there; I didn't understand who works here and who is a guest; - The gentlemen also hardly coordinated with each other as to which tables were now free; - while we were eating, one of the waiters came and without notice looked for something under the bench at our table - which confused and disturbed; - the music was hardly in tune with the interesting, rustic interior and was too loud; - Containers for cutlery appear unaesthetic and inferior (visible traces of old labels inside); - There was a strange and stuffy smell in the back room. Dishes: - the tomato soup was a bit too sour; - the napkin in my bread basket was stained with oil and wrinkled (used again?); - the burger was mediocre. With these small corrections the restaurant could be something very special!

A quick lunch-stop on the way between The Netherlands and Denmark and Thämer's was just the ticket! A quaint little place on the inside with a large covered terrace on the square. The food was good and they even have a kids' menu. Good selection of drinks, including non-alcoholic beer for those of us driving. Toilets were small but clean enough.

We visited as a group of 7 friends on a weekend break. This place had been recommended by a German friend. We are all retirees, the average age of the other customers was much lower. 2 out of 7 of us speak fluent German and we took the trouble to sort out the orders with the non German speaking guests beforehand. And also recorded who had what to sort out who had to pay how much. Nonetheless the staff were unfriendly, Unsmiling and worst of all were bad mouthing us to colleagues, in Italian. One of our group is Italian and overhead this diatribe and pointed out to the staff member, that he should be careful what he says about customers, in whatever language. The food was acceptable, the service wasn't.

Eating less than average, the praised fried potatoes are no longer what they used to be after the change of operator. The service is mostly strange and not exactly a beacon of good humor and politeness... we come less and less often and look for alternatives that put more heart into their business.

In a very sweet spot, on a beautiful square. The outside area, where we sat, had large wooden benches that catered for more than one group, which we really liked. Service a bit uneven. The first young man who came to inform us that their kitchen is now closed was completely unsmiling and almost bored. The young woman who took the order was clearly more pleasant and polite. Prices could be a little lower. But we will definitely go again, because as an overall experience it was very beautiful.

The food and service clearly get 4 stars. There is a 3 star deduction for trying to get an extra €10 out of the careless tourist's pocket. If the total hadn't seemed strange to us and we'd shown the bill, we would never have noticed it - as it may have happened with many other customers.

Charming German tavern ! We had the schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln, it was the classic taste we were looking for; really good, and the portion is plenty enough. The owner gently let us order just a couple of minutes before the kitchen closed; thanks alot to him. The place it's located on is also quite nice to enjoy a few beers throughout the day !

There was a hair on the schnitzel and also it was the worst schnitzel ı've ever had. Waiters were so rude. I DEFİNİTELY DON'T RECOMMEND!

I grew up in the Thämers area and have known the restaurant forever. The ambience is still great! Unfortunately, the food is no longer great. The portions have become small and the prices have risen. The once well-seasoned, crispy fried potatoes are swimming in fat, are unseasoned and limp. Where are the onions? Everything tastes ok, but no longer tasty. Since the team change, the service has no longer been good. Repeat orders are forgotten, we had to follow up several times. Requests are accepted, but not implemented at the bar/kitchen. Thämers is simply no longer what it was a few years ago. I fear that Thämers will degenerate into a tourist trap, similar to the Schanze Grandma's Pharmacy and Frank & Frei. A pity. But it's enough for a beer after work.

In the summer you can sit outside nicely and the beer tastes good. The food is mediocre - the price-performance ratio is not right. But the service is really bad - unfriendly, sloppy and even a “thank you/please” seems to be asking too much…

We ordered a lot of things, large portions, everything was delicious, the only but important drawback is that the “onion pie” contains pork, but this is not stated on the menu.
