Heute das erste Mal hier gewesen. Service super freundlich. Fühlten uns direkt willkommen. Essen ein Traum. Das beste Gyros was ich in den letzten Jahren gegessen habe. Vielen Dank

Ich kann es wärmstens empfehlen. Atmosphäre, Essen und Service sind hervorragend. Ich war schon zweimal dort und werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen, wenn ich das nächste Mal in Herne bin.

Wir waren heute mal bei Taverne essen. Ich habe den El Greco Teller genommen. Das Gyros war sehr gut und auch der Zaziki. Das Suflaki war nicht gut gewürzt genauso wie das Schweinesteak, dafür muss ich leider 1 Stern abziehen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen ist nicht außergewöhnlich. Preisleistungsverhältnis ist ok.

Wir waren anläßlich des Muttertages heute zum ersten Mal dort. Aufgrund des schönen Wetters haben wir draußen gesessen. Dort ist ohne Reservierung ein Platz zu bekommen. Wir mussten uns umsetzen, weil dort betrunkene Frauen sich unmöglich verhielten. Es war kein Problem. Innen ist es teils sehr dunkel, also unbedingt bei der Reservierung angeben. Das Tzatziki war prima an dem Hauptgericht fehlte es an einigen Gewürzen. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht. Bifteki gefüllt mit Metaxasauce überbacken für 25 Euro ist schon überteuert. Da gibt es weitaus bessere griechische Lokale mit außergewöhnlichen Geschmäcker für 20 Euro. Cappucino zum Abschluß und Ouzo zur Begrüßung gab es auf Kosten des Hauses. Das war schon eine super Geste

Heute das erste Mal dort gewesen, passt alles. Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut, die Potionen sind ebenfalls angemessen und auch die Preise sind fair. Die Leute sind dort sehr nett, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Lange warten muss auch niemand. Die Gerichte werden fast im Minutentakt zu den Gästen gebracht. Wir werden auf jeden Fall gerne nochmal vorbei schauen.

Zwar etwas kleiner, dafür tolles griechisches Ambiente mit sehr gutem Essen. Tische draußen sind in Nähe der Straße, aber wir sind im RUHRGEBIET ....hat was.

Sehr leckere griechische Spezialitäten und äußerst freundliche Bedienung. Hier steht Gastfreundschaft absolut im Vordergrund und der Wirt kümmert sich auch persönlich sehr herzlich um seine Gäste. Gyros war sehr lecker. Mitarbeiter super freundlich. Parkplätze ausreichend vorhanden. 😃👍 Und für einen Spaziergang danach, liegt gegenüber der Schloss Strünkede Park. Voila!

Wir sind regelmäßig mit ein paar Leuten hier. Besitzer sind immer sehr gastfreundlich und zuvorkommend. Essen und Getränke werden sehr schnell gebracht und sind super lecker. Die Kegelbahn im Keller ist auch sehr schön.

Wirklich unersetzlich dieses Lokal. Das Essen ist sehr gut und es gab noch nicht ein Gericht das nicht geschmeckt hat . Das Personal ist unfassbar herzlich und desto öfter man da ist umso mehr weiß man die leute dort zu schätzen . Es gibt kein Restaurant in dem ich meine Zeit lieber verbringen würde !

Waren gestern mit mehreren Personen bei ihnen Essen,ein Kind 3 Jahre alt,war mit dabei.Das essen war grossartig und die Bedienung total freundlich.Was nicht in Ordnung war,das das Essen über den kleinen gereicht wurde obwohl es total heiss war.Mehrmals haben wir das angesprochen aber es wurde bei der Hektik total überhört.Das war nicht in Ordnung und hat uns alle sehr verärgert.Es ist nichts passiert,aber es hätte auch anders ausgehen können

Schon beim Betreten wird man herzlich empfangen – der Service ist außergewöhnlich aufmerksam, freundlich und professionell. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen und bestens umsorgt. Das Essen ist von überragender Qualität: frisch, authentisch, perfekt gewürzt und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Jeder Teller ist ein Genuss und hebt sich deutlich von allem ab, was man sonst in der Region findet. Diese Kombination aus Geschmack, Qualität und Präsentation sucht weit und breit ihresgleichen. Besonders beeindruckend ist, dass sowohl der Service als auch die Küche konstant auf höchstem Niveau arbeiten – so etwas ist in der ganzen Umgebung wirklich nicht wiederzufinden. Das El Greco ist nicht einfach nur ein Restaurant, sondern ein Ort, an den man immer wieder gerne zurückkehrt. Das Beste Restaurant aus dem Ruhrpott! Schon seit über 20 Jahren Stammkunde mit Stolz! Hervorragendes Restaurant! ganz im Gegensatz zu dem Laden um die Ecke, den man besser meidet, wenn man Geschmack oder Selbstachtung besitzt. Lieber einen großen Bogen drum machen und ab zur Taverne El Greco - Herne!👍

Tolles griechisches Restaurant mit authentischem Geschmack. Die Portionen sind großzügig, Fleisch zart und perfekt gewürzt, und die Beilagen sind richtig lecker. Sehr herzlicher Service, fühlt sich fast an wie Urlaub in Griechenland.

The first thing you notice is that the furniture is worn, the paint is peeling, and the tables are sticky. There have also been cobwebs hanging from the lamps for quite some time. Otherwise, it's the usual plaster decoration. Neither of us found it very inviting. My gyros was cold, and so was the meatball. I was given a warm portion of gyros later. Overall, it was too dry for me. My companion had something vegetarian. He said it tasted good, but it wasn't anything special either. Just some vegetables topped with cheese. The service was friendly, and we were given a complimentary ouzo.

The food was very good and the staff friendly. However, it was a bit noisy due to two rather large groups.

The price-performance ratio was okay. My steak was a bit tough. But otherwise, the food was good. It was a bit noisy, but that's to be expected in a full restaurant. The service was excellent. I would go again.

We visited the El Greco tavern in Herne for the first time today and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has a very cozy, warm atmosphere, and you immediately feel welcome. The service was attentive, friendly, and quick – you can tell that genuine hospitality is the driving force here. Highly recommended – we'll definitely be back!

There were four of us there one early evening. The atmosphere is inviting, the staff are immediately welcoming and cheerful. All the dishes we had (appetizers and main courses) were absolutely delicious. The meat was so tender, truly excellent. The portions (especially the appetizers) are incredibly generous. And every now and then, the owner comes around and refills the carafe of ouzo – where do you still find that these days? I've never experienced anything like it in any other restaurant: such warmth and hospitality, such truly excellent food, and then, all at a reasonable price. If the restaurant weren't so far away, we would definitely come more often; I would absolutely recommend it.

The food was a decent portion. Everything was delicious. The meat was all very tender. I've never eaten such juicy cevapcici. The price is a bit high. The service is super friendly and attentive.

A busy restaurant is usually a good sign. That was the case here too, when I stopped by one Sunday for a schnitzel and salad. The portions are appropriately large, the ingredients are fresh, and the dishes are very tasty. And all at a fair price. Despite the full house, the service came to the table promptly, and I didn't have to wait long for the food. At the end, I even got a nightcap on the house. You don't see that very often these days. The restaurant is located right on a main road, which is my only criticism, as it's difficult to dine outside in peace. Otherwise, I can wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant.

A second visit is planned for tomorrow, this time with Humphrey, our Landseer. The reservation was easy and friendly despite the large dog 🐕. The first time, the food was very good; the liver was cooked to perfection, and the staff were also full of praise. The service was consistently attentive. We ate here for the first time today for lunch. We received a very friendly welcome. The food was delicious. Small carafes of ouzo were on the house. We will definitely be back. You can come without a reservation for lunch, but you should make a reservation in the evening. The boss was very friendly and funny. You get exactly what you want as a guest.

This "restaurant" has nothing to do with Greece or Greek food, sorry. The dressing on the appetizer salad had an unpleasant fishy aftertaste, the gyro was "okay," and there was rather little feta in the bifteki. Telling a vegetarian guest that they're in the wrong place is a no-go... no matter how you mean it. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the lovely ambiance that some people here emphasize. It's basically a pub with a winter garden. The prices aren't appropriate for the quality of the food.

Three of us went there for lunch on a Sunday, and all three were impressed by the outstanding service, the friendliness of the staff, and the attentiveness! We've rarely experienced such exceptional service in a restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, and it certainly won't be our last visit, even though we're traveling 100 km away. It was a coincidence that we were there, but it was definitely worth it. A huge compliment to the owner; you understand what guests want and how important the quality of the food is! The owner also worked with us that day and provided entertainment! Great, keep it up!

The food was typically Greek, tasty and good portions. The menu is too big for my taste, sometimes less is more. It is very busy on weekends, but the staff is still attentive and quick. The meat was a bit too dry for me, so I deducted a point. The ambience, as it was very crowded, wasn't quite as comfortable as it wasn't possible to have a good conversation, which is why only 4 stars here. Overall, however, I can recommend the restaurant.

Great food so the place was full. Loud like a train station hall with all the tables in one room. When groups of men with self-proclaimed singers are bawling at the next table, the ambience is complete for me. I can't drown the 1 hour wait for the food in the free ouzo as a driver.

We have had very tasty meals here several times. The boss and the staff are always very friendly and quick. If it's very busy, the main courses will take a little longer, but still in a reasonable time. Special requests or changes are also easily addressed. Yesterday we ate very tasty suzukakia and salmon with side dishes.

Super delicious food and nice staff

Chip shop level at exorbitant prices. Burnt, tasteless fried potatoes as a side dish. My daughter found the turkey schnitzel on the children's plate inedible, as did the side salad. The grill plate was mediocre. The meat skewers were chewy. Unfortunately the pork fillet was also tough. All in all very disappointing.

Top food, top innkeeper, top ambience!

It was delicious, we went there for “Christmas dinner” or a Christmas party. I liked it there, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was great too. The staff is very friendly and you feel very welcome there. Only the volume was a bit too high later in the evening, but the atmosphere was very relaxed :-)
