Taverna Omiros in Hamburg

I was back here after a long time. I absolutely had to try whether item 65 on the menu was still as good as it used to be... The service was friendly and extremely fast. Mmmmmm, yummy, yummy... the batter-coated calamari ARE still as delicious as they used to be. AMAZING! For me, the BEST I've ever had anywhere. Hot calamari, fries piping hot... and both were delicious! See you again VERY soon!

We went to Omiros again yesterday for lunch. We had a small soup and salad to start, and the meal itself was, as always, delicious and plentiful.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our visit. Initially, the waiter was friendly, but after we pointed out that a dish was missing, that immediately changed – he was no longer accommodating. The food itself also didn't impress us: The "fitness pan" had a discordant flavor, and the sauce was more reminiscent of beer and vinegar. The Metaxa sauce was nothing like a typical Metaxa sauce, and the meat tasted old. Furthermore, we only got two salads for three people. The pepperoni tasted awful! During the meal, no one came to the table to ask if everything was okay. At the end, the farewell was unfriendly, which further reinforced the overall very negative impression. Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend it.

This was our first and, unfortunately, last time ordering from here. First of all: The staff on the phone and during delivery were very nice and friendly. That's why we get the stars. But the food, unfortunately, was completely unacceptable. The gyros was very fatty and full of gristle, the mini salad was nothing to write home about, and the lemonato had meat swimming in pure oil instead of lemon sauce. The fries were okay, but unfortunately unseasoned. At least the food arrived hot. Overall, disappointing. A shame!

It looks small and unassuming from the outside. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. The staff is friendly and quick. I highly recommend Taverna Omiros 👍

After a visit to the Tropical Aquarium, we were looking for a restaurant and decided to give Taverna Omiros a try. We received a very friendly welcome and were able to choose a table. Lunch is served until 4 p.m. with a good selection of dishes, most of which come with fries. I had the bifteki with feta cheese filling. It was preceded by lentil soup and a small salad, along with a basket of very fluffy bread. The bifteki was well-seasoned and juicy. It could have used a little more feta cheese. You can't go wrong with the fries. My wife was very happy with the lamb skewer, and our child enjoyed it too. Our lunch dishes ranged between €12 and €14, which is reasonable these days. It's worth keeping in mind if you're planning a visit to Hagenbeck's Zoo.

Well, honestly? You can forget about the food. The standard gyro plate (small portion) is 4 burnt shrimp for €20...😂 The atmosphere is rustic oak. The small salad that comes first is really... oh man, really funny. But it's kind of cozy, nice to linger there with a beer or something similar. Nothing more...

Great value for money. We were there for lunch (until 4 p.m.). A lamb skewer with tzatziki and fries, a starter soup, and salad for €13.50. We started with lentil soup and plenty of fluffy bread from the oven. Our daughter had a children's schnapps and received a lollipop at the end. It was tasty, more than enough, the owner was very friendly, and the atmosphere was very homey. Highly recommended.

We've been visiting the Omiros Tavern regularly for at least 25 years and have always felt very comfortable there. We stayed for a long time and often reordered drinks and dessert. We always left full and satisfied. Friendly service, good food. But over the last two years or so, the service has deteriorated considerably, to our regret. Today, however, it was enough, and we'll think twice about returning. It took a long time to be noticed, and then another while to get our menus. The drinks came quickly, the dishes arrived quickly, and were delicious as always. We did, however, request another drink, but neither of the two waiters paid any attention to us. One stood in the corner smoking, the other gestured toward the plates he was bringing to a table and was never seen again. This man was also the one who practically slammed the plate of food onto our table, unable to even crack a smile. The table wasn't cleared, we continued to be ignored, and things weren't much better at other tables. We declined dessert and further drinks. We paid at the bar. There, I vented my anger and complained. On our last visit to Omiros, we were also ignored by the waiter. He preferred smoking to serving us. In other words, he completely ignored our table and deliberately looked past us. The complaint earned us a quarter liter of wine each and a few apologetic words. When the boss isn't in, the staff apparently dance in the next room. Perhaps they should stop offering takeaway and focus more on the in-house customers...

Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The bifteki didn't have feta, and the skewer was unfortunately grilled too long. Gyros was a bright spot. The service was okay.

Quite a dull place. The waiters are very slow and unmotivated. Food is okay, but the portions are small - it’s the first time I’ve seen Souvlaki being a single stick instead of a pair. I wouldn’t come back.

This is exactly what a Greek restaurant should be like, and I really like the atmosphere. Soft, relaxing music in the background. Typical Greek decor. A complimentary ouzo and bread with dip to start. The grilled platter and the pork fillet with broccoli and pepper sauce were delicious. Afterward, there was another ouzo on the house. The server was relaxed and friendly. The prices are reasonable. A 5-minute walk from the hotel next door. We'll be back.

I was here today for the third time, and my last. The whole place doesn't deserve a star. Unfortunately, I had no other options. Beer was too warm, pork fillets were still raw, salad was a disgrace, and so on...

Well...70s charm. The lamb fillet with arugula that was recommended was unfortunately tough, and the arugula was bitter. In short, I've had better. My companions were also not particularly enthusiastic.

Nice, family restaurant with good food. Extensive menu, we enjoyed all the dishes we tried. We found it particularly nice that our daughter's children's bag, which we had forgotten, was sent to our hometown! 🥰 We will definitely come back on our next visit to Hamburg!

Schönes Lokal mit familiärer Atmosphäre. Das Essen war gut und reichlich, auch den Kindern hat es gut geschmeckt. Besonders lieb war, dass man uns die Kindertasche, die wir vergessen hatten, per Post in unsere Heimatstadt nachgeschickt hat! 🥰 Wenn wir mal wieder in Hamburg sind, kommen wir sicher wieder!

We were there for lunch. Delicious tomato soup, salad and main course for € 12.00. Very tasty and sensational price. Nice little beer garden. It was busy and the service seemed a bit overwhelmed. Could have been a little friendlier. But would like to come back. There is a small parking lot but only 4 spaces. It is difficult to find parking in the area.

Depends on what you're looking for! If you primarily want to enjoy alcohol with cigarettes and then also some food, then the shop is perfect because they have a smoking pavilion, which is good. If you want decent food, the Greek one is even one of the better ones. The kitchen is okay. Something different is upscale and there's certainly something more chic, but it's a good middle ground between a chip shop and "very fine". ;)

Best Greek in Hamburg! Nice ambience and great food. Nice and courteous employees. Authentic location with a beautiful terrace that invites you to linger 🍹 We've been coming here for years, whether as a couple or with family, we always feel comfortable. The food is always great and doesn't take long, there's always an ouzo ;) Finally we had rump steak with truffle and zander fillet in truffle sauce... simply excellent. Absolutely recommended!! 👌🏻 If you want authentic Greek food, you can't avoid this shop. Price-performance top!

I recently visited Taverna Omiros and loved the authentic cuisine! The portions were generous and the prices reasonable. The food was delicious, freshly prepared and very tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was cozy and the decoration was very attractive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would love to come back! 5/5 stars

The lamb souvlaki, for €19.50 (!), was served suspiciously quickly. On the plate: lukewarm, dry meat, partially burnt on the outside. It was accompanied by soggy, tasteless fries. A complete disaster.

I ordered gratinated gyros there today. It was just meat with cream sauce and cheese gratinated. Nothing with metaxa, no champis, no onions, no peppers. Really not good

Delivery took a little longer than expected but it was worth the wait. Very nice driver and the food was very tasty...we'd be back :) but we've also eaten in the restaurant and it's absolutely delicious.

The restaurant is getting pretty old. Service is okay, but not particularly good. The prices are pretty high! In my opinion, there are much better Greek restaurants in the area.

A lovely little Greek restaurant. The food, however, was a disappointment. The fries were unsalted and soggy, the gyros had an extremely high amount of gristle, the bifteki had no feta cheese, and the skewer was tough as leather! Luckily, the grilled pepperoni and tzatziki were delicious. The waiter wasn't really interested in our complaint! And that for €55.90 with drinks.

Do you want an insider tip? - here's the insider tip! From the outside it seems inconspicuous, but as soon as you enter the restaurant the charm becomes evident. It's so simple and beautiful, the gentleman who served us was so child-friendly and accommodating. Really really great! The food was absolutely delicious, filling and the prices are absolutely reasonable. We spontaneously stopped here today after a visit to the tropical aquarium and would definitely come back. Fantastic! A big compliment! :)

I'm really very dissatisfied with my food, I ordered half a duck and got a duck breast which was also very small, an even bigger shame is that half a duck with 4 croquettes and some red cabbage cost €22 and wasn't tasty. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

We always feel very comfortable here. The tables in the restaurant are beautifully set and there is also a cozy room for smokers that is even heated. I often order the warm starter plate, delicious, a bit of everything and enough. Thank you for the great service :-((

The food is very good, from around 9:30 p.m. the staff showed very clearly that they no longer wanted to serve the guests. To receive an ouzo, you are given a piece of paper with a QR code to do a Google review. This process left us absolutely horrified. Therefore we will not be visiting this restaurant again anytime soon. If only to take away anyway...

Price performance winner in the lunch table, great service, one person manages to serve up to 50 guests at lunch without a long wait. Thumbs up. In the evening you have to hope to catch the long-time waitress, who brings Greek flair to the evening and you can sometimes forgive the kitchen for a mistake (not the rule) All in all we have been coming here as a family for 12 years and my first visit to Koppelstr. It's been over 25 years... I know a lot of other Greek restaurants, but we always like to go back to the Omiros restaurant
