Taverna Kretamos in Berlin

After visiting the Botanical Garden, I received excellent service and a very good meal. I would gladly return!

Definitely recommend if you are in Berlin! Such a cozy restaurant with authentic, delicious Greek food! The staff is so personable and went above and beyond for us. Loved it! 🫶🏻

Our group of eight visited Taverna Kretamos for the first time. The service was simply unbeatable and the staff incredibly friendly. We all felt very comfortable. The food was delicious. If we're ever in Berlin again, we'll definitely come back to Taverna Kretamos.

Definitely worth a visit. The food is absolutely delicious, prepared quickly, and completely exceeded all expectations. The waiter who served us was very friendly and extremely personable. The tavern itself is nicely decorated, and it's a great place to sit and chat. All in all, no complaints whatsoever – truly superb.

I ate at this restaurant for the first time a week ago. The wonderful service and high-quality food make me want to come back again and again. They serve traditional Greek cuisine, just like you would eat it in Greece itself.

We were there as a family on November 30th, 2025, shortly after 9 pm. We hesitated to go in at first, as there were no other guests. Going in was the best decision – super friendly staff, really good, delicious food, and a great atmosphere! Definitely recommended!!! This restaurant is a real gem. I'm Greek myself, and I've rarely eaten better than at my own mother's house. They offer many authentic dishes, not just the usual Cretan platter. Even the meat is so well-prepared, fresh, and seasoned. Amazing! And the service is so warm and welcoming. I only mentioned in passing that it was my mother's 88th birthday, and a short time later, dessert arrived with sparklers and a serenade. Very warm, lovely atmosphere, and absolutely reasonable prices. I highly recommend it.

We were there for my father's birthday and were absolutely thrilled. The food is amazing, the service is very friendly, and it really feels like a little taverna in Crete. I had the vegetarian moussaka, which I highly recommend! 🙏🏼 In general, there's a larger selection of vegetarian dishes than you'd usually find at Greek restaurants, so I'll definitely be back!

We went here without a reservation for lunch on a beautiful, sunny Saturday, and ordered moussaka and fried calamari. The wait for our dishes was a bit long given the number of people seated, but the staff was very friendly. The dishes were delicious and well-prepared, and the bill was reasonable for this type of lunch: €30 for two. I recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

We've been there twice so far, just the two of us, without a reservation in the evening. They quickly put out a table for us when the terrace seating is full. Very friendly service and a warm, personal welcome and farewell. Our food was excellent. We have a new "favorite Greek restaurant," and we're willing to walk about half an hour to get there.

The portions are generous, the prices are perfectly reasonable, and the service and owners are very friendly, attentive, and charming. They even gave me free snacks. We'll be back :)

Classic 6 star Greek, more Sirtaki is not possible

The food was incredibly delicious...I haven't had such good food at a Greek restaurant in a long time. The tzatziki was very creamy and aromatic. The garlic potatoes were pleasantly tasty...not overpowered by the garlic. The mixed grill plate was excellent. The drinks were very chilled and the atmosphere was extremely friendly, with very nice service. We sat on the terrace and it was very relaxed...also with the other guests. A very good atmosphere. We would love to come back, even though it's not easy to find a parking space...thank you for the wonderful evening.

Discovered by chance, a great Cretan restaurant on the S Botanical Garden. Friendly owner, good food, first-class ouzo. It wasn't the last time we were there! 👍 Edit: The quality was still excellent. What bothered me was that the prices on the menu were significantly lower than the bill, which I didn't realize until I left the restaurant. I'll check carefully next time.

Simply perfect! The food was incredibly delicious and fresh, served warm, and a true highlight in terms of taste. You can tell that the cooking here is done with love. The server was very friendly, attentive, yet pleasantly unobtrusive. The atmosphere was very pleasant, with quiet, subtle music in the background, and everything was very clean and well-maintained. As a special gesture, we even received a house ouzo and a dessert – a wonderful surprise! We felt completely at home and will definitely be back. An absolute recommendation!

Delicious Greek food with an authentic feel. The restaurant looked newly renovated and had beautiful accents of the Greek island throughout. Customer service was so welcoming, our waiter was fantastic and super attentive. Food was also fantastic, the options all looked great but I’m very happy with my choice. The chicken was juicy and flavourful and the feta cheese inside my appetizer was warm and creamy. I look forward to returning and I would suggest this restaurant to anyone who likes Greek food. Also very conveniently located near the S-Bahn.

The restaurant used to be really good. Unfortunately, due to the change of operator and card, the cuisine is now slightly below average and the quality of the goods used is insufficient. Service was okay. Location and facilities are good. In terms of value for money, this was my last visit.

Only the NAME remains! First of all I have to say that it is not authentic “Greek”. In any case, I speak Greek and what was spoken there was absolutely not Greek. There was once an operator (Cretan family) who ran a small, wonderful, authentic Cretan-Greek restaurant/tavern. Unfortunately, the quality Cretan cuisine would be taken away again and Greek-style cuisine would be offered again. Baked dishes with Edam and Metaxa sauces. Classic starter platters, but with convenience products from a can, lots of things from the grill, a few vegetarian things. Unfortunately it didn't appeal to us. It's too standard what you get at every Greek restaurant. However, the Young Man in the White Shirt offered us excellent service. But unfortunately the cuisine in this neighborhood is below average..

We ate there today (January 21st) and absolutely loved it! Friendly service, tenderly grilled lamb chops with delicious tsaitziki and "fries", crisp salad! The braised lamb with yogurt, vegetables and potatoes also tasted very good. 2 free ouzos! Yamas! Heart, what more do you want!

The food was mediocre, moussaka was surprisingly rich, covered in very salty brown sauce and cold inside. Although four tables were unoccupied, due to a reservation we were only allowed to occupy a very uncomfortable table for two almost in the middle of the room. The beautiful, initially empty corner tables and seats were then allowed to be occupied by guests who arrived spontaneously, in pairs of course. That's annoying, punishment for reservations. Service was friendly and friendly. I don't like or taste it there.

We spontaneously went to the restaurant. Tables were immediately put together for 7 people. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is quite small but cozy. So it can't be extremely crowded. If we're nearby, we'll come back.

The moussaka was very disappointing, absolutely bland, covered in far too much tomato sauce and had nothing to do with a real moussaka. Tasted like cafeteria food. We won't be coming back.

The service was really slow and you could only make yourself understood in English. The rice was too raw.

There is a very nice outside area and inside it is like a nice little Greek taverna. The service is attentive and the food is very good and really authentic, as the advertising promises. We were very satisfied and coming back is not out of the question 🤗

Food is not worth the expensive price. A poor salad without olive oil and a "grilled" chicken definetly not in grill at all. As a greek im not proud for this food there.

Went out happy After 4 years and two changes of ownership we were there again. Currently the Kretamos is apparently not in Greek hands, which doesn't have to be a handicap. Service and ambience were top, the food wasn't to our taste, rice noodles were bland, fried sardines were very dry. White taramas was good. We had hoped for more, but still had a nice afternoon.

Very tasty and good food with a very nice service. The only reason why you have to deduct a point from the service is that the employees speak and understand German really poorly. Nevertheless, it is always worth a visit.

I was in Berlin from March 22nd to March 24th, 2024 (daughter lives here) and since the food at your place was so good, I went there a second time. I love Crete and the dishes are absolutely authentic. Simply delicious. If I lived there I would be a regular. Everyone in the restaurant was very nice and accommodating. The furnishings are very cozy and Cretan. Thank you for this highlight. See you next time.

It was really expensive restaurant. Meals fron 16€. I would look for something cheaper next time. But the kleftiko lamb, was still tasty.

We came across this small but lovely shop by chance last week and were more than surprised! Not only is the ambience and service absolutely great, but the food is also impressive across the board. Here you actually feel a bit catapulted to Greece and are guaranteed to spend wonderful evenings together. A definite recommendation for your next dinner date.

We had a very nice evening in the great taverna. The food is excellent and so is the service; the innkeeper himself welcomes you with open arms. There is a great range of vegetarian, authentic dishes, as well as a large wine selection. Plus ouzo on the house and a delicious dessert. Dogs are welcome (also indoors). Very comfortable outside in the summer too.

Zusätzlich zu unserer Bestellung wurden wir mit extra Ouzo's, "Kinderschnaps" und einem tollen griechischen Nachtisch umsorgt. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist top und wir werden definitiv wieder kommen! Eine klare Empfehlung!!! :-)
