Einfach exzellent… Essen, Service, Ambiente. Wahrscheinlich das beste Sushi in Berlin! Besonders empfehlenswert sind die Auberginen-Vorspeise und die Thunfisch-Sashimi-Variationen. Fantastisch! Ich empfehle, einen Tisch zu reservieren. Die Warteliste ist auch praktisch, was ich sehr hilfreich fand!

Ein wirklich absolut fantastische Sushi Location. Schnuckelig und einladend authentisch. Das Essen und ich hatte fast alles war durchgehend Perfektioniert und so lecker. Kann ich nur jedem empfehlen und ans Herz legen wenn man auf der Suche nach der echten Sushi Erfahrung ist.

Leider kann man nicht mehr Sterne vergeben - das San hätte mindestens noch einen weiteren verdient. Da ich mich der vielen Vorredner hinsichtlich der herausragenden Authentizität, Qualität und des Ambientes nur anschließen kann, eine einzige persönliche Aussage: Ich habe beim Verlassen eines Restaurants noch nie gefragt, ob ich Koch und Bedienung (ich glaube in unserem Fall auch Inhaber) umarmen darf. Mein Mann und ich waren einfach nur glückselig. Und erschrocken. Hatten wir doch geglaubt, schon in wirklich guten japanischen Restaurants gewesen zu sein und gutes Sushi gehabt zu haben. Weit gefehlt. Wir kommen wieder!

Wir kamen spontan an einem Donnerstagabend vorbei und hatten Glück, einen Platz für zwei zu finden. Das Restaurant war gemütlich und lebhaft – perfekt für ein Date. Wir bestellten das Omakase-Menü von Naha Koukou und waren absolut begeistert. Die Bedienung war freundlich und nahm sich Zeit, die Gerichte zu erklären. Das Sashimi schmeckte frisch und perfekt ausbalanciert. Die Verwendung von japanischem Salz anstelle von Sojasauce passte hervorragend zum angebratenen Fisch. Die Maki waren köstlich, und auch die Nigiri waren alle hervorragend – genau die richtige Menge Reis und Sojasauce. Zusammen mit Sake war es ein perfekter Abend!

Das ist ein absolut authentisches Lokal mit japanischem Personal, in dem alles perfekt organisiert ist. Wir haben es zufällig entdeckt und waren restlos begeistert. Vielen Dank für diese hervorragende Qualität! Ich kann es jedem wärmstens empfehlen, der Wert auf Qualität legt.

Das Essen war hervorragend (wir hatten eine Auswahl an Sashimi, Nigiri und Maki) und der Kellner war sehr nett und hat uns alles gut erklärt. Mein einziger Kritikpunkt sind die Einweg-Essstäbchen (warum nur???), vor allem in einem Restaurant dieser Klasse. Es ist, als würde man mit Plastikbesteck essen oder guten Wein aus einem Pappbecher trinken! Der Geschmack mag dadurch nicht beeinträchtigt sein, aber das gesamte Erlebnis wird dadurch getrübt.

Das ist ein tolles Restaurant! Meine Freundin und ich haben eines der Menüs bestellt und der Fisch war von außergewöhnlicher Qualität. Die Preise sind wirklich angemessen. Das Restaurant ist sehr ruhig und der Service ist ebenfalls hervorragend. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Dieses Sushi-Restaurant in Berlin bekommt von mir 4 von 5 Sternen. Beim Betreten des Lokals hat man das Gefühl, still sein zu müssen und nur angesprochen zu werden, wenn man dazu aufgefordert wird. Etwas mehr Lebendigkeit würde dem Laden guttun. Die Speisekarte ist zwar klein und bietet keine riesige Auswahl, aber sie erfüllt ihren Zweck. Alles ist frisch und sauber.

Mein absolutes Lieblingsrestaurant! Ich gehe fast jede Woche hin, und jeder Besuch war einfach perfekt. Der Fisch ist unglaublich frisch, besser als ich es für möglich gehalten hätte, und der Reis ist makellos. Die Vorspeisen sind einzigartig. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Mein Mann und ich wohnen in Potsdam, aber das hat uns nie davon abgehalten, dorthin zu gehen; es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall! ❤️

Ein tolles Erlebnis. Seltsam fand ich nur, dass der Kellner meinte, sie würden kein Leitungswasser servieren, was in Restaurants eigentlich Standard sein sollte.

Der Besuch (13.04.2026) im SAN in Berlin war für uns wirklich etwas Besonderes. Schon beim Ankommen hatten wir das Gefühl, für ein paar Stunden aus der lauten Großstadt herauszutreten und in eine ruhige, fast meditative Welt einzutauchen. Die Küche war einfach fantastisch und unglaublich authentisch japanisch. Was uns besonders gefallen hat: Jedes Gericht wurde einzeln erklärt – die Zutaten, die Zubereitung, die Idee dahinter. Man hat gemerkt, wie viel Wissen, Sorgfalt und Leidenschaft in jedem einzelnen Gericht steckt. Dadurch wurde das Essen zu einem richtigen Erlebnis und nicht einfach nur zu einem Restaurantbesuch. Auch die Auswahl an japanischen Bieren war richtig gut und hat wunderbar zu den Gerichten gepasst. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohlgefühlt – fast wie auf einer kleinen Reise nach Japan, mitten in Berlin. Für uns war es eine wunderschöne Auszeit aus der Großstadt und ein Eintauchen in diese besondere japanische Schlichtheit und Ruhe. Ein Abend, der noch lange nachklingt.

Das beste Sushi der Stadt und jetzt auch das beste Ramen!

Definitiv eines der authentischsten japanischen Restaurants, die ich in Berlin besucht habe. Ich war jetzt zum zweiten Mal hier und kann mit voller Überzeugung sagen, dass es wahrscheinlich die beste Adresse ist, wenn man authentische japanische Küche sucht. Als Vorspeise hatten wir Nas (Aubergine), Agedashi Tofu (die Brühe war fantastisch!), Hamapon und das Tagesgericht, ich glaube, es war ein Gelbschwanz-Halsband. Wir bestellten das Naha Koukou Sushi Moriawase für zwei Personen, bestehend aus Sushi, Nigiri und Sashimi. Das war etwas zu viel für zwei, aber alles war wirklich köstlich. Zwar etwas teurer, aber jeden Cent wert.

Ein sehr authentisches japanisches Restaurant, das hochwertigen Fisch nach traditionellen japanischen Gepflogenheiten serviert.

Wirklich guter Fisch und mit das beste Sushi, das wir je gegessen haben, das Personal war sehr freundlich und insgesamt war es ein tolles Erlebnis.

Nachdem es jahrelang auf meiner Liste der Orte in Berlin stand, die ich unbedingt besuchen wollte, habe ich es endlich geschafft. Und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Von den unglaublichen Vorspeisen an war alles bis ins kleinste Detail durchdacht, die Aromen so präzise. Ich hätte meine Aubergine am liebsten getrunken, so himmlisch war sie. Und mein Gott, dieses Sushi! Ich könnte es jeden Tag essen. Ich bin überglücklich und kann es kaum erwarten, wiederzukommen. Das ist mit Sicherheit das beste Sushi in Berlin, wenn nicht sogar in ganz Deutschland.

Ich habe das Menü in der ruhigen, modernen Atmosphäre sehr genossen. Das Sashimi war köstlich, und das Sushi wurde mit einer kleinen Portion Reis serviert, sodass ich die authentischen Aromen voll auskosten konnte. Ich bin dankbar für den freundlichen Service vom Anfang bis zum Ende.

Wir bekamen am Freitagabend ohne Reservierung einen Tisch. Eine vorherige Reservierung ist jedoch empfehlenswert.

Really good fish, everything very well prepared. A pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. You feel like you're in Japan (something you rarely find here in Germany). The prices seem a bit high at first glance, but considering the quality, I actually find them very reasonable.

This is not just another vietnamese takeout masquerading as a sushi restaurant however an authentic Japanese experience which is unrivalled with the attention to detail and focus on quality. The staff are no nonsense and will help you navigate the menu with confidence, just do as they tell you. This is Berlin's most authentic and best Japanese experience. Some would say it is pricier however for someone with experience for the quality very fairly price. This experience matches up with restaurants one finds in all other major city hubs for a fraction of the price. Your will leave this restaurant full but satisfied like you have gone through a meditation. San honours japanese culture by finally gifting Berlin with a truly mesmerising japanese experience. Here, you can enjoy excellent sushi and sashimi. The dishes are prepared with great care and explained in detail. Since seating is limited, the time is limited to two hours—which is entirely understandable given the attention to detail in the dishes. The portions may seem a bit small for some. Those who wish can also order sushi. However, this restaurant is not a place to stuff themselves, but rather to experience the true taste of sushi. It is highly recommended for anyone who appreciates quality and authenticity.

Top sushi in Berlin, I haven’t found a spot better. The team who runs it are helpful kind and knowledgeable. The fish is fantastic the sushi chef a true master. The other dishes from the kitchen proper are great additions and beyond tasty. Make a reservation as it’s difficult to get a walk in. Everything about this place is 6 stars! Returned last week. An authentic Japanese sushi restaurant. Reservations are definitely required. We had the omakase set for two people and were more than impressed. The fish is fresh and of very high quality. While you wait for your food, you can watch the sushi master prepare it at the counter. When the food arrives at your table, the sushi master explains in detail what kind of fish it is and where it comes from.

It’s definitely on the expensive side, but I doubt you’ll manage to find better sushi in Berlin. If you’re into raw fish nearly as much as me, it will be worth it. The service was impeccable. The space curated but intimate and cozy. Make sure to make a reservation!

This restaurant is absolutely insane and incredible. The flavours the way it served is exactly like you would expect in Tokyo. I’m very picky when it comes to Japanese food. And first I didn’t want to post about this restaurant…. Because I’m afraid too many people will go there and I won’t be able to get a table anymore. But it’s too good not to share.! I think it’s the best Japanese food I had outside of Japan in my life. The fish melts in your tongue. 👅 the flavors, the wasabi, and also the drinks that were served were all one amazing umami. I was disappointed to begin with since the only reservation I could get was 18:30, which was a bit of a rush from work, and the intense moody storm weather. However, SAN could be the best sushi in Berlin. From the customer service, to the impeccable quality of fish - this restaurant is remarkable. Our servers were on point in offering descriptions of the food and possibilities to experiment with it. Our wine glasses were never empty. A rare gem of high quality that deserves my time. I will definitely be back! Thank you SAN 💯

Very good and “expensive” sushi with very small portions, definitely not a place to satisfy your hunger but the fish is top quality. I would prefer if they somehow uploaded their menu on a social media. As far as I remember for sushi, sashimi plates, for two starters and two beers, and one dessert we ended up paying around 210 EUR. I would say it’s a special occasion place rather than a casual night out.

I've been wanting to visit SAN for a long time – finally, I made it! Yes, it's expensive (€60 for a sushi & sashimi set per person), but the taste is simply amazing! Small portions, but top quality. Toro was a dream – sweet, tender, unforgettable! I just got out… and I already want more! If anyone wants to invite me – go ahead, I won't say no! BUT – despite all the delicious euphoria: My seat right by the window was totally uncomfortable. Everyone walking by outside was looking into my plate and almost into my mouth – it was really unpleasant.

Very good food and very friendly staff. I read somewhere that is best sushi in Berlin, that might well be true. Price on the upper end, but not to crazy.

Excellent fish, great service, explanation of the different fish and a pleasant atmosphere make the high price justified. I usually avoid restaurants with a no-show fee, but this was worth the exception. Even rebooking at short notice due to the BVG strike was no problem! All in all a great experience

This is hands down the best sushi restaurant in Berlin and one of the best dining experiences we've had in this city. You will probably not find better quality + fresher sashimi/sushi than SAN and it is very close to what you would get at an omakase place in Japan. We loved every dish, service was fantastic and attentive, and we are already looking forward to coming back :)

I had been looking forward to trying this sushi restaurant for a while, and finally made it! The quality of the sushi is excellent—the fish is incredibly fresh, and the selection feels carefully curated. They also have a nice variety of sake to pair with the meal. However, my evening took a disappointing turn when we were denied the chance to order ice cream at 9:45 PM. The server explained that the kitchen was already closed, which was both surprising and frustrating. First of all, the restaurant’s listed closing time is 11 PM on both Google and their website. Despite this, the staff essentially told us they were closing at 10 PM. Adding to the confusion, when I made my reservation, it was clearly stated that the table was valid for two hours. Since I booked at 8:30 PM, this should have meant I had until 10:30 PM to enjoy my meal—not to be rushed out at 9:45. This inconsistency is misleading and unacceptable. What’s more, I’ve been to countless restaurants, and even when the kitchen closes, it’s always possible to order something simple like ice cream. It’s not a dish that requires any preparation—just a scoop in a bowl. To make matters worse, for a €200 bill, guests should not feel rushed or cut short on time. This policy completely killed the vibe of what could have been an amazing evening. I’d strongly recommend updating your closing times online to reflect the actual hours, honoring the two-hour reservation policy, and rethinking how you handle late orders. It’s such a shame because the food was fantastic, but this experience left a very bad impression. I give two stars because food was outstanding.

TLDR: Great food, bad service. I made a reservation for 3 people (2 adults and 1 infant) 1 month before the date. I called the restaurant with good intention to tell them that we came late and they told me that somehow my table would be on bar table with high chair cause we came late. I mean we tried our best to come on time, however when you travel with baby it might sometimes hard to come on time. My baby was crying the whole time before come to the place and we needed to comfort her first. I put my baby on the baby carier and sit on high chair which was very uncomfortable and spent eating there standing all the time. What I found weird was that they could put TWO persons on a normal sitting table that could fit FOUR persons, but insist to put a family with baby on high chair on bar table because we came late. What is the point for reservation and stating that you will bring baby then? What I found the weirdest was that the guy said that the high chair was our place at the first place. I mean WTF 🙃??!! I was in an affordable chinese restaurant night before with very crowded customer and they still manage to put us on the biggest place they have. Even a cheaper restaurant has better knowledge how to manage their customer 😅 Might as well not calling them that we might come late. Coming to the food. It tasted really great. I was in Japan before and tried real Omakase and my memory in Japan instantly came back. High quality imported fish and even the wasabi tasted very similar to those I tasted in Japan back then. However, I don't know if this is also the case with other customer but I would say that the sizing/cut was rather quite small. I mean we spent 100€++ and still left hungry 😅 If you have never been to Japan and wanted to try "real" sushi and your sole purpose is taste, I could say that this place deliver. Food was amazing, however I would only give one star cause of bad service.

The food is amazing. Very fresh fish from Japan and Spain. Sake was great, the prices are ok and the service could improve they were a bit pushy at the end to make us pay. After spending 250€ bill that's a bit rude and we didn't find it ok.

The best sushi I’ve ever had. The fish is incredibly fresh—it feels like it flies straight from the water on a business charter directly to the chef’s knife. The interior is calm, and the atmosphere is pleasant. There’s a great selection of wines and delicious sake. Prices are above average, but you’re guaranteed a gastronomic delight and the chance to enjoy exceptionally fresh and flavorful fish.

Berlín suele presentar los restaurantes asiáticos como una mezcla de Vietnam, chino, japonés, etc. todo en un mismo restaurante, lo cual no es bueno (mi opción) , pero es como es.

Everything is A ++ !! Outstanding food - Chef uses the freshest fish, nothing in Berlin comes close to the Sushi I had in Japan but this place. Amazing selection of Sake to pair with the meal. Attentive and friendly service. Nice atmosphere/ design. Great value for price. My recommendation: take the eel and also red turtle sake! Only 1% missing for me would be an even better dessert menu (I do very much much like the black sesame ice cream though!)

The food in general is good, I got one omakase + lemon ginger soft drink, the lady told me it’s 48€. And she requested a tip from me by asking how I will pay the tip. I think it’s not required to give tips in Berlin if we didn’t feel like we are happy with the service. Ok I paid 50€ At the end we found out the total price with my order should be 44€, but how can you charge me wrongly and requested for a tip on top, I don’t understand Okay so was it reasonable to over charge customers in this way?

Nothing more is possible. If you really like good fish you have to go here. Everything was so finely tuned, the yellowtail was so incredibly juicy and salted to perfection. Pure taste. The omakase was just perfect. The service was just warm and nice. We look forward to the next time❤️

Really shocking service. The staff made me feel very uncomfortable, they were unkind in their communication, and made us feel unwelcome. I had a very upsetting experience even though I was really looking forward to it. I never expected to leave a restaurant crying - and on my birthday nonetheless.

The quality of the fish here is mind-blowing. 🤯 This upscale authentic Japanese sushi restaurant feels just like a top notch place you'd find in the country itself. The service is friendly and impeccable and was patiently deciphering my broken Japanese. If it is still on the menu, get the grilled Yellowtail.

POOREST SERVICE ever. Food is good, the waiter, waitress and the cook(who gives the order to waiter and waitress) are RUDE.

ATTENTION: THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC JAPANESE RESTAURANT. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE TOURIST TRAPS OWNED BY VIETNAMESE, SO DON’T WORRY :) Alright so let’s begin with the food. The quality of the fish is incredible—so fresh, it practically melts in your mouth. Their nigiri and sashimi are beautifully presented, and the flavors are just out of this world (it’s soooo good). Their authentic wasabi and Japanese salt compliment the sushi perfectly. We also tried their chicken karaage, and every bite was a perfect balance of texture and taste (I can tell that they made it fresh, not from the freezer). Furthermore, we had a nice scoop of ice cream as our dessert. The simplicity of the menu really stands out, you’ll get classic Japanese entrees, sashimi + sushi selections as main course, and great selections of sake and beer. Another highlight for us was their service and attention to detail. From the presentation to the serving of the meal, everything was perfectly timed. It’s clear they take a lot of pride in what they serve. When taking an order, they asked us whether we have allergies with certain seafood. And when they served us, they explained each of the fish, where the fish come from, and how to eat them (whether we should eat them with soy sauce or without). The price is quite reasonable for the quality you get, and it feels like you're getting a real sushi experience, not just something to fill your belly. All in all, SAN is the best sushi restaurant in Berlin. I’m afraid it will be difficult for us now to find a better sushi place in Berlin. Pro tip: you need to book a table in advance and don’t put yourself on the waiting list, as you will get a very little chance to be contacted.

Very authentic sushi, you can practically taste the freshness. Really nothing to complain about from the side, it's worth the price. All in all, it was a little too tight for us and I would have liked to order in stages, which is unfortunately not possible. Something about the setup made it feel like there were guidelines for everything - it didn't feel casual. Trust your Peter!

The fish is super fresh! So delicious! I ordered red meat and medium fat separately for tuna. I also ordered a separate portion of scallops, which feels more cost-effective if ordered a la carte! nigiri added another portion of fatty salmon, and I was almost exhausted by the end of the meal hahahahahahahaha sake is also very good~ The environment is relatively simple, and I feel like all the money was spent on the ingredients. In addition, the guy who ordered the order was a bit pushy. We originally came here specifically to eat sashimi, but he kept telling us that we ordered too little and asked us to add appetizers, but we still liked it better. Eat part of it first and then add what you like.

Very, very good and above all authentic Japanese sushi restaurant. An absolute recommendation for lovers of sashimi and nigiri. Anyone looking for “fancy” new style maki rolls etc. drowning in a lot of sauce will be disappointed. Lovers of good taste who are looking for classic sushi where fish is the focus will find what they are looking for here! Absolute recommendation for real fans and connoisseurs. It's also worth taking a look at the sake menu. The service was very nice and all three gentlemen present were friendly and obviously had fun while working. ;) We'll be back - Arigato Gozaimasu!

Now one of my favorite sushi places in Berlin. Very low key environment, super peaceful / zen decor that fits both Japan and Berlin, with a cool and dedicated team. The sashimi and nigiri was fresh, beautifully plated and prepared quickly. Love this place. And the front of house team is super nice. I didn’t like that they turned walk-ins away even though they weren’t fully booked. A few small groups left disappointed because the restaurant had a few seats and all outside tables available, but the restaurant didn’t want to seat them, even one unlucky group was Japanese. Seems like the restaurant adopted a common German service practice of turning folks away… not sure why:

We've been here a handful of times... The food is always delicious, but the service has started to get a bit frustrating. As a couple, we asked for two of the same starter (eggplant), because we really enjoyed one particular dish. We were asked to only have one so that later arriving patrons might be able to enjoy it. We found this quite odd as we had the earliest booking of the day. When paying, we were told the amount, and then asked, "but how much do you want to pay". I don't mind a small tip for great service, but this isn't the USA, the service was weird, and to feel bullied into a tip audibly in a public environment soured what was otherwise delicious food.

It was the wrong choice for sushi lovers like us. This place is one of the peaks of nigiri and sashimi, that is, nirvana. Reservation is required and cancellation is subject to a fee. In this way, we tasted very delicious raw fish. There are plates for 2-3-4 people, but if you like roll sushi, this is not your place. The waiters explain and give information about the products on each plate they bring. Of course, they asked for 10% service during the bill, but it was not mandatory. It costs 50-60 euros per person. Natural white wine was very good

There's absolutely nothing to critique about this restaurant. The high quality of the fish, combined with the friendly staff, makes it one of the best Japanese restaurants in berlin.

The quality is beyond question, but for €35 you get a menu that is more of an appetizer in terms of portion. I think if you want to be full as a man you have to spend around €140.

Exellent japanese Restaurant I belive one of the best in Berlin. The only problem is the service. We came at 21:00 The opening time is till 23:00 After an hour and twenty min The waiter/owner bring us the check We didnt ask it We wanted to order a dessert but we got the feeling they want to kick us out so we just left the place disappointment.

One of the best restaurants in Berlin, and by far. Yes, it's expensive, but it's definitely worth it.

Best sushi in Berlin, and a lovely crew. An intimate place, where the quality of the fish, the rice, the wasabi, the ginger are all simply superb.

During my visit to the restaurant I was impressed by the quality and freshness of the food. There is no question that the ingredients are of a very high standard, and there are few Japanese restaurants in Berlin that can offer such high quality. This alone could make the restaurant a recommendation for Japanese cuisine lovers. BUT! However, I regret to say that the experience with service and business practices did not meet the standards set by the kitchen. From the first approach to the entire service process, I didn't feel welcome as a guest, which is in stark contrast to the excellence of the food. Without wanting to go into detail, I would like to encourage other guests to see for themselves, but I must advise caution. It is my wish that this feedback is seen as an opportunity for improvement. A restaurant of such culinary quality deserves to be outstanding in all aspects. Improving customer service and first impressions could greatly enrich the experience and would ensure the restaurant is being used to its full potential. Because the visit was what it was, only 1 star.
