Tap-House in München

Edit September 2025: I don't know what happened, but unfortunately the tap house has declined quite a bit. The menu consists almost entirely of Camba beers and a few other German and European beers (Belgian, etc.). UK/US beers are barely represented anymore, and if they are, they're mostly just the craft beers you can also find in a well-stocked store. Things used to be different. Even Jever Pils and Tegernseer Hell are now on the menu ;( That would be fine, too - but the service isn't what it used to be. Questions about the beers you've ordered or help with beer selection are almost impossible when you feel like you know more than the staff ("What is a Farmhouse Ale? It's an ale. And the ale is called Farmhouse..."). Well - maybe it was just like that today. But the pinsas were pretty good. Too bad - in the early years, the Tap House was really great. --- For many years, the Tap House has been the first port of call for enjoying hundreds of different beers from all over the world. The (very good) beers from the Camba Bavaria brewery in Truchtlaching, which operates the Tap House, dominate. Plus hundreds of beers from primarily Europe, with a few from Canada or the USA. The staff is quick and knowledgeable if you're ever stuck. There are also a few Small snacks, nothing sensational, but good. Card payments accepted. Review: In the early years, the beer selection was somewhat better. There was a lot more American craft beer. Beers from Japan and the like are completely absent. The tap house has raised its prices considerably, especially for imported beers.

For my home brewer, this was a must-see in Munich. He wasn't disappointed. He didn't have a better beer this time. I loved the atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A great place for true beer connoisseurs. That's what my husband says 🍻

I can only call them theft. They charged me and my colleagues more than the value of our bills. Food was bad. Beer was good. Service was kind of bad, they always forgot to bring the beer for one of us.

Delicious food, good beer, a pleasantly rustic setting, friendly service, and great music. The first dish, homemade beer cheese dip, was already very tasty. The beer amisu was not just delicious, but incredibly delicious, and an experience with its creative ideas. Sweet and creamy, but also with a crunch and a touch of salt, the beer amisu is the best homemade dish I've had in a long time. The beer was also very good and was served by a friendly waiter and waitress. The rock music was a nice change from the monotony and was loud enough that you could bob your head to it, but also have a conversation without any difficulty. I'd love to come back here; even the prices are very fair.

How many beers? All of them, and always different ones

It hurts my beer sommelier soul, but my visit was a complete disappointment. A paradise for beer lovers. 40 beers on tap. And you don't offer beer tasting sets? The service is more focused on selling in bulk... It's a shame... But if you know what you want to drink, the selection is solid...

Had high hopes for this place and the beer and the place it self was really nice but what was really annoying was the loud hard rock and heavy metal music.

Their beers are very very good. I went here after reading the comments and it did not disappoint. The menu is in German of course but it is not a problem, we clearly told the waiter that we would leave it to his suggestion and we did not regret it.

Super cool spot. Went on a Friday (around 10 pm) and it was pretty packed; finding a seat for a large group may be difficult. The tap house offered a large variety of craft on draft along with traditional German beers and additional craft in can/bottles. 🙌

Unfortunately not as good as it once was. Currently the staff (and unfortunately also the owner) only have general basic knowledge of beer and/or are not interested in giving advice. When you ask questions about the exact taste of individual beers (e.g. Is this a more fruity or bitter IPA), you only get general explanations about the brewing style instead of helpful answers about the beer itself. Also the tip, if you are not sure, to try one beer first and then the other... In the past, you could move from one delicious beer to the next while talking to the waitress. Unfortunately, as it currently stands, you can no longer make a targeted selection based on your own taste, but rather just play the game of chance based on your own taste, round after round. Too bad.

Update 04/2025: been here once again and can only confirm my rating again. Great beer selection. Super delicious Reuben sandwich. I'd love to come back there.

Difficult to find because no any sign currently outside :( Anyway, perfect place to be in, 40 draft beers, half of them from famous Camba brewery, all together good selection. Friendly staff, modern/retro design of interior. Many local drinkers which want to try somenthing else than Helles. Very relax mood. I just arrived from Camba, so only abble to drink small Celebrator tonight. I come back tomorrow ;)

Great vibe, a ton of good beer, accessible via bus, impossible to make a reservation though. Just get there and get yourself a table. But the people working there are lovely, and very quick to serve you.

Food is over priced and the ribs were not that fresh born good. The beer selection is amazing hence the higher rating and the service is very friendly and efficient. As the place fills up the atmosphere gets more cosy. Some very expensive and weird beers to try here. Worth checking out.

A great place for all generations, very helpful staff always ready to recommend and clarify the assortment. The food is arranged according to standard for the offer you would expect in a place like this. A very diverse offer, perfectly balanced with the recommended beer. A truly pleasant experience for all the senses. I visit at least for a short time every chance I get. Well done, keep it up.

Great location to come with a group of friends and do some beer tasting while playing card games or just chatting I have tried : #1,4,7,10 + munchen mafia la dolce vita (my fav is the last one, still so much to try tho ahah)

You always feel welcome at the Tap House. The staff is always friendly and happy to provide detailed information about the wide range of fantastic beers. Although the Tap House is a beer bar, the food is excellent. A recommendation for anyone who likes beer and a relaxed, nice atmosphere.

This place is quite astonishing. I've asked for any highlights of the beer and got the best answer possible. I had a lot of beer, which all fitted my taste. Espacialy the staff was great, we talked a lot and it was great. 10/10 would go here anytime. The food was great.

Highly recommended for beer lovers! High amount of selection and very good beer at reasonable price. Service and atmosphere are great. Only thing is that the food was just ok. But understandable as it is more a place for beer rather than food.

Very good for drinking beer. You can also eat something here. However, you shouldn't expect too much from a culinary perspective; you're more likely to go here to drink beer. Extremely large selection of different beers. There are also numerous non-alcoholic beers. I chose a non-alcoholic wheat beer on tap and a non-alcoholic Ipa. Both very good. Atmosphere also great. Gladly again.

Lots of good beers and the waiters are happy to help you choose. There isn't much choice of food but what there is fits the atmosphere and is delicious. I can highly recommend the Reuben :)

Good beer but disgusting service!! The beer selection at this place was impressive, with 40 taps and a lot of bottled options. However, the quality of service we experienced was simply very bad. After ordering a beer and a dessert (biermisu) while laughing and playing, my pregnant wife and I were abruptly told to leave our table within 20 minutes of sitting down. One of the staff members approached us, rudely informing my wife that she HAD TO order a drink, or we couldn’t stay. We fully understood that space might be limited, so I tried to offer to move to the bar to free up the table. Shockingly, they wouldn’t even listen to us. My attempt to express my discomfort and suggest a compromise was interrupted with a short of justification and a curt command to “pay, leave, and do not bother me more.” It was clear that their priority was to maximize profit, not customer experience. But there are far more polite and considerate ways to manage these situations, especially when dealing with paying customers. This behavior was disrespectful, out of line, and left us feeling totally unwelcome. First time that this happened to us. Disgusting and totally nonsense.

A very nice selection of craft beers. The food is good and very reasonably priced for Munich. There's a bit of a problem with the service. It's best to go to the bar yourself if you want a new beer.

If you're a beer lover in Munich, The Tap House is an absolute must-visit, even you go to Oktoberfest. After reading glowing online reviews, we decided to check it out—and we weren't disappointed. The atmosphere is lively yet cosy, making it the perfect spot for a night out. David, one of the staff members, was incredibly helpful in guiding us through their extensive drink menu, ensuring we found the perfect beer to suit our taste. The other patrons were equally friendly, adding to the welcoming vibe. All in all, a fantastic experience, and we can't wait to return! (Note, we didn't tasted any food here, just a beerspitality 😉).

Good variety of beers. Bartender was a young local that was very friendly and conversational. We arrived late at night and we're the last to leave. They did close doors a bit earlier than advertised because of Oktoberfest opening weekend had drawn business away.

There were 42 beers on tap. Pretty confusing. Most of the beers we tried were good. The food menu was ok and what we had was good. It was not crowded when we went and the overall service was good. Seems to be college kids doing the service, so please do tip them. The ambience is not really exceptional. But definitely worth a visit for the sheer amount of beers they have.

Heaven for every (craft) beer enthusiast. More than 30 exquisite varieties in tap. The focus here is on the brew - there is only a small selection of snacks. The chili con carne was large and good. Nice and competent service.

We can only warmly recommend this place to every beer lover!!! Forty beers on tap, all pipes are professionally cleaned weekly, knowledgeable and extremely friendly staff, a comfortable atmosphere and the food is supposedly okay, but I can't judge, there were more important things to do 🍺🤣 As promised, we would like to come back, then with a larger delegation from Carinthia and more time! I always enjoy coming here as a beer fan and connoisseur. The tap house always has around 40 beers on tap. There are also a number of bottled beers. The selection of food is small, but the food is even better.

If you enjoy beer and would like to be served something different than the usual Munich beers, Tap Haus is the right place for you! :) Really large selection, lots of varieties on tap or on tap ;) and great advice if you can't decide. We were there spontaneously last Thursday in the late afternoon, tried IPAs and strong dark beers and also ordered the chili and the cheese fondue (snack size). And a really great team in the Tap House: The two “behind the counter” were in a great mood and really fast! A successful spontaneous visit, definitely back soon.

Great selection, nice staff and the garlic, oregano pinsa is a 10/10 especially with the rich beers.

There are about 40 tap beers, and on weekends it's crowded until late at night.

Several beer types, i could only try 3 of them. My experience is good. Did not try the food.

Apart from the fact that there should be more service staff, it's perfect: the food is always tasty, many of the employees are master brewers or apprentices and know a lot about barley juice, the seats are comfortable and I think the audience is cool.

We were at the Tap House about 2 weeks ago because a good friend gave me this tip. The selection of beer is really overwhelming, I can only recommend having a beer connoisseur with you! Otherwise, it's time to just give it a try. The prices are okay, totally ok for Munich! The beer tastes excellent and the atmosphere is simple but inviting! Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food. We will definitely come back, just to drink a more exotic beer every now and then!
