Too salty & very unfriendly staff

Very nice and good restaurant in the heart of Munich. Portions more than sufficient. Schnitzel was fresh and breading was very tasty

Unfortunately, our service didn't work so well... I wonder who annoyed the man so much that he wasn't motivated anymore 🤨🙈 We would have liked to have eaten something else, but since the drinks were already such a deal, we did omitted to keep the effort low 😉

The dishes tasted as if they were reheated, not freshly prepared; the skin on the Schweinshaxe was impossible to cut with a knife, let alone chew.

Quaint brewery, delicious beer. Food only lukewarm. The waitress had a lot to do.

Very good traditional German food. We had to wait a little longer for our food because the restaurant was quite crowded but the waiter remained very nice.

Were there later this afternoon and ordered meat patties with potato and cucumber salad. The meatballs were as compact as tennis balls (read: hard) and the sauce was (according to the menu, gravy)... definitely not (anymore) fresh. The staff also left a lot to be desired. And half a beer for almost €6 is also too expensive. Even if the time in the late afternoon was perhaps unfavorable for a warm meal - we certainly won't go there again.

Food good, but doesn't justify the price. Our service was rude and inattentive. The other tables were better off.

Cozy seating right on the pedestrian zone, friendly, motivated staff and generous portions, very tasty and fresh. There is absolutely nothing to complain about here :)

STAFF Unfriendly ON October 25, 2024 In the afternoon, the most expensive beer in comparable restaurants. We missed out on food. The pillow on the next table that was completely nitpicked wasn't replaced or cleaned. Nobody was interested in the funerals.

We waited 45 minutes for the daily special. The fish was very dry and the vegetables were almost raw. The waiter only responded to my criticism with a shrug. All in all not recommended!!!

Went there twice in a row because we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Children's menu is also very good. Highly recommended.

The milieu is wonderful in this restaurant located on the pedestrian street. It's wonderful to sit outside to eat and enjoy the day. The food was excellent. However, for some reason the waiters here looked like they were either bored with their jobs or with the tourists or both. I got the feeling that I should apologize for being a customer at that restaurant. Kindness and a smile, please. After all, the tourists bring them their wages as well.

Food is rather average. The restaurant is like an old brewery and the waiter has difficulty counting to three.

An authentic experience of the atmosphere of a Bavarian brasserie for our first evening in Munich. Very beautiful wooded setting, excellent cuisine, local spirit and very friendly servers! Vielen Dank!!

the tomato soup tastes like ketchup

The food is okay, but we had to reorder twice because after ordering it turned out that the dish we ordered was already out. Accordingly, this order came much later than the others. Several drinks were forgotten and the bill at the end was incorrect. After we said that we wanted to pay, it took another 20 minutes for the payment process to go through. In the background there is always a radio playing pop music and occasional advertising and in parts of the restaurant you can find clusters of fruit flies.

We only had drinks, were greeted very friendly and served quickly. Good service.

I had reserved a table days in advance with the comment that please be near the window. I wrote the comment because I didn't realize that I actually meant the council chamber. From the pictures you could just see that there are a lot of windows in the council chamber, so I wrote it down as a comment when making the reservation. Well, you could have saved yourself. The gentleman who welcomed us was unkind. Not a nice greeting and then arguing with me that I had reserved a bar table and not a table. That's when my face fell off the rails. When you reserve a table at OpenTable you are asked whether you want a table or a bar table. You will then receive confirmation of this by email, but the main thing is to discuss it. He then gave us a table for four. We didn't respond to any requests in the reservation, nor did we ask whether a table in the council room was free. He said there wasn't a free table, but since I could see his cash register computer and tables, I knew he was lying to us. But we didn't let that spoil our mood. Now about the ambience. We liked the atmosphere. Unfortunately it was very crowded and the tables were close together. What I didn't like at all was the cleaner in front of the toilets, who had to pay 50 cents. A good restaurant has clean toilets, without donation plates. Unfortunately there was no soap left in the men's toilet, bad. There are 4 stars for the ambience, but 1 star deducted because of the sanitary situation. Service/operation: So honestly... The reception was already bad, but the service was even worse. We first ordered drinks, which was normal. Then he came back shortly and wanted to take the food. My partner ordered the Stift'ls Brettl "in advance", as it says on the menu. Then I asked whether the Munich roast pork was also available with potatoes instead of dumplings. He said there are no potatoes, only spaetzle and dumplings or fries. When I asked why there are small potatoes with the salmon fillet if there are no potatoes? He said they were fried potatoes. I then ordered fried potatoes and he left without even asking my partner what he wanted to eat. My friend looked at me completely puzzled and questioning. I then followed the service worker and told him to bring Munich roast pork twice, once with dumplings and once with potatoes. Understood. Our appetizer arrived and we started eating. We didn't even have half of the starter before two small bowls of white cabbage arrived. 1 minute later our main course was on the table next to us, even though we hadn't even started to finish our starter!!! That was the hardness. It came as it had to come. Our main course had cooled down. Super bad. There are 0 stars for the “nice” reception and service. I'm actually a person who likes to tip service staff and sometimes tip more generously if the service is perfect. But today there was a whopping 0 euro tip. The bad thing is that it made me extremely uncomfortable, because normally I always give something. My sister works in the catering industry herself, so I always feel a bit obliged to give something. But today I couldn't give anything, it wasn't worth it. Unfortunately for me it was a disappointment because the pictures of the restaurant are very appealing and so is their rating, but I for one was disappointed today. Can't recommend it.

The worst Schnitzel I've ever eaten.

We were in the old Hackerhaus on October 24th, 2024 with a small group of 5 people and I have to say, I was positively surprised after the bad experience at Stiftl am Marienplatz! The reservation worked, the service was quick and courteous and the food was tasty.

Was a little disappointed with the pretzels. The fries were delicious, as was the beer. The service responded to special requests and was very friendly.

The food was delicious and the drinks were brought to the table quickly after ordering! The waiters were super friendly. The atmosphere was typically Bavarian and cozy! Everything was great!!!:) 👍

Food itself was very good. One star was deducted due to the incorrectly advertised food. In addition, a completely overwhelmed waitress was responsible for one star less. But having to wait 30 minutes to order drinks is not good. In addition, her colleague was twice as quick to operate. Food came at least quickly, just not as it was on the menu. But otherwise very good in taste.

Rip off. I already tried not to book a tourist restaurant and it was still a failure. 1. We ordered a starter, then the waiter (who didn't feel like it) asked us if he could bring it with the main course, it would be busy. We weren't happy, but we agreed. Then the main courses were served, but no starters. At some point we said we didn't want the starter anymore, he didn't care. He would have forgotten her anyway. 2. The main course was cold for me and lukewarm for my husband and daughter. There were potato dumplings on the menu, but we got potato dumplings + napkin dumplings. We don't like napkin dumplings and the whole thing when it's cold. I've tried cold rind before and I really had to control myself. Never again and if we feel like we've just been ripped off, then I'll mention it too.

The half costs €6.90, you can't put it down there!

I was in Munich for octoberfest looking for a place to eat came to this place. Had abd and amazing dinner 🍽 food was delicious and great customer service. Price was reasonable the plates are big I could not finish. I recommend 💯

We wanted to have a cozy and good dinner today. Unfortunately that was nothing. Oven-warm meatloaf with potato and cucumber salad was a disaster. Slimy potato salad with 1 cm thick cucumber slices (you can see in the picture on the left that the cucumber is no longer fresh). The meatloaf is a tasteless gray sponge that is not warm from the oven but lukewarm when microwaved. It was the first time I had a meal returned because I had never been served anything like that before.

Food was okay! It was two of us dining and we ordered still water. They brought two bottles despite us ordering one. We didn’t drink it and they refused to take it back even though it was unopened and we didn’t order it. It cost 7 euros. The manager literally wouldn’t even listen to us. He was extremely rude and continue to wave his hands without listening. Additionally, before all this there was a fight amongst staff that led to glasses being broken at the bar.

Service was extremely unfriendly, kitchen closed early. Live music and beer good.

Very unfriendly service. You are placed on site with the information that you just want to drink something and are then thrown out after 15 minutes. Very disappointing. Unfortunately we won't be coming here anymore.

We were on a Beer Tour and had dinner here. While it was the Friday night before day 1 of Oktoberfest…. They didn’t have enough seating for our reserved/scheduled group. Put 4 of us at another table. The cheese tray was taken off one of the other tables with our group…they had already a chance to eat from it. The waiter was RUDE to guests and the tour guide. We were told to leave as they had another group… some people were still finishing food/ drinks. Rude waiter started cleaning the main two tables and put it on our table where we’re finishing as well. If you know that Friday is that busy you shouldn’t host a tour for a meal. Absolutely terrible service and the RUDEST sever I have ever encountered.

Had dinner with 6 people on the first Saturday of Oktoberfest at the Hackerhaus in the evening. The Food was not satisfactory. Unfortunately, when I ordered goulash, the bread dumplings were not cooked through but rather raw. I complained about this to the waiter and he told me he passed it on to the kitchen. There was no further reaction from the kitchen or service. A friend's chosen roast pork was tough and the coleslaw tasted bland. It was also difficult to have a conversation because the live music was too loud. Since we wanted to pay by card, I had to go to a cash register and pay there. Here you also had to wait in a queue. My friends said that they would no longer choose this restaurant for Oktoberfest next year.

Für das Mittagsschmankerl - Lachsforellenfilet gegrillt mit Salzkartoffeln und Gemüse - haben wir 45 Minuten gewartet. Der Fisch lag anscheinend über diesen Zeitraum auf dem Grill und war dementsprechend staubtrocken. Leider nicht empfehlenswert!

Nice ambience, nice staff (brauhaus style of course), the food was great, the portions more than enough. Unfortunately, my schnitzel was initially oversalted, but I guess that was an exception.

Great, spacious and cheerful atmosphere

I had to wait 20 minutes before I could place a drink order, even though the waiter passed the table several times during this time and even made eye contact. Similar with the bill, it only came after we waved several times and instead of waiting at the table, he put it in front of us and disappeared and then didn't come back for a long time to take the money. The only vegetarian main course, Käsespätzle, was a significantly smaller portion than the meat dishes on the other plates and, unlike these, there was no salad. There was no trace of the parsley advertised on the menu and instead of fresh onion rings there were ready-made fried onions from the pack. My colleagues' meat dishes weren't really convincing either.

Generally, service in Munich is very hit and miss. Seems smiles are hard to come by. Nevertheless, a rare warm welcome was given to us here as it was the last time I was here 7 years ago. Nice staff, lovely beer !. It was lovely and warm in the courtyard on an extremely wet evening.

After he acknowledged us in such an unfriendly manner (after we had spoken to him twice) we decided to go to another restaurant down the street. Today at 2 p.m. we as a company (5 people) wanted something to eat, we left because of the unfriendly staff and won't be coming back.

Typical atmosphere and friendly service, but it's the burger with rosti that steals the show, really. Served with a generous portion of fries, this burger is a feast for the senses. If you're in Munich, this is a must-try for any burger lover.

Hello...eaten outside on August 31, 2024 around 7:00 p.m. I would be approached by an employee and seated at a table for 4 with 2 other guests. The service was attentive and quick. I then ordered half a beer and half a pork knuckle with dumpling and coleslaw. The beer came very quickly, at a great temperature. After about 10 minutes my food came. The knuckle was quite dry and the crust was probably formed by a quick dip in the deep fryer. The dumpling was more of a dumpling, the coleslaw was tasty. Conclusion.,...food and beer price clearly too high. Quality of the food was lower middle class. The quality of the food is much better in the Hacker Pschorr tent on the meadows!

Service doesn’t exist, we have waited 20 minutes without getting any attention and it wasn’t very busy. A foreign couple next to us asked for service and the server disrespected them saying “Calm down it’s very busy. This is Germany, we don’t signal for service”. Then the server sat down a local group and served them immediately. We stood up and left!

The food and service are very correct, the big problem of the place is the owner or person in charge of it, he takes advantage of the tourists to get money in black, and when it is time to pay apart from the fact that the bill is an account made with paper and pen, they come with the excuse that the dataphones are not available and they have to charge in cash, after several attempts we paid in cash and when we left we verified that the locals do have the option of paying by card. This helps him clearly defraud the German treasury. Also be careful with the cockiness of the "sir" when you go to complain to him about the situation.

Large place with several environments and beautiful. Quality food and good service. It's a shame that you have to pay for the bathrooms.

Like a slight feeling of pissing off the waiters (not a hello, limited beer thrown on the table) and to top it off, a person begging in front of the toilets seriously?! We ask for 2x the bill, the waitress makes it clear that she understands but does not bring it in 15 minutes....

By far the worst experience we had so far in germany.. so we arrived 4 persons three adults and a small kid. They brought us only one plate after 30mins and when we asked for the other two 30 min later the waiter just turned his head the other way and walked away.. ofc we had to cancel and look for another restaurant which due to the fact that it was late we couldn't find anything open so we had the kid without any proper food.. I wouldn't recommend it of course.. staff inpolite (not all of them but...)

Bad experience. We entered and waited to ask the waitress for a table for two. When he came, with the utmost rudeness and with a tone of contempt he pointed to a table in the distance and said "here." We said "bye" and left. Shameful treatment. In any establishment in the surrounding area you will at least be treated with respect.

We enter and ask for a table for two, they tell us to go where we find a seat, ok we can fit. We sit down, no menu for 10 minutes, I take one from a nearby table, another 30 minutes pass and despite several requests to order we are always bounced and put on hold by different waiters. We notice that even the tables near us are quite annoyed by the long waits, those who have only had a drink for a long time, those who ordered when we arrived and didn't even have a drink after more than half an hour... We got up and went away. EMBARRASSING P.S. The place wasn't even full enough to justify such carelessness and waiting.

Entriamo e chiediamo un tavolo per due, ci dicono di andare dove troviamo posto, ok ci può stare. Ci sediamo, niente menù per 10minuti, ne prendo uno da un tavolo vicino, passano altri 30 minuti e nonostante diverse richieste di voler ordinare veniamo sempre rimbalzati e messi in attesa dai diversi camerieri. Notiamo che anche i tavoli vicino a noi sono parecchio infastiditi dalle lunghe attese, chi ha solo il bere da tempo, chi ha ordinato con il nostro arrivo e nemmeno aveva il bere dopo più di mezz'ora... Ci siamo alzati e siamo andati via. IMBARAZZANTI P.S. Locale nemmeno pieno da giustificare tale noncuranza e attesa.

Unfortunately we couldn't even have dinner due to the rudeness of the waiter We had booked given the positive reviews in the hope of being able to eat the frankfurters. Once seated we read that they were only served by 3pm. We asked the waiter for confirmation who responded very rudely by pointing at the clock display with his finger to let us point out the time with an annoyed and arrogant look. We visited this restaurant on August 12th as part of a beer and food tour. Even though there was enough space outside, we were seated in the restaurant at 36 degrees. Right from the start we had the feeling that we were being a nuisance; we didn't earn much because it was all done by the organizer. Quite quickly, 4 small snack plates were placed on the table for those present, plus 2cm. thick, carelessly cut slices of bread. Drinks could only be taken later as there would be a lot going on outside. The price included 1 beer per person. Two guests dared to ask for drinks at the counter, and there was a moderate uproar from the waitress; we had to wait. After 20 minutes in the completely overheated room, either Radler or a Helles was served, 2 of the guests were underage, they were refused water instead of beer, this would only be served for an additional charge, the beer that would have been allowed was not served. Afterwards there were roasts and sausages on platters, with dumplings the size of table tennis balls. I wouldn't have served the roast to my guests like that, it was far too fatty, carelessly prepared and lots of cuts. Never experienced such unfriendly service, insulting the guests because they dared to sit outside after eating because it was very warm inside. It wasn't necessary, we were turned away the day before because we just wanted something to drink, but seats are only allocated if we order food, like in many other restaurants in the pedestrian zone. If you are in Munich you are better off going somewhere else.

TO RUN AWAY!!!! 😡 Terrible service. The waiter Christian is not at all friendly with customers who do not speak German very well. He assaulted us to pay at the end. I do not recommend anyone to set foot in this restaurant. Food not great and expensive I recommend eating at the market right next door

Good food, service was slow and all the staff was slightly grumpy. Probably just a stressful day.

15 euros for ketchup on a hot dog with the benefit of waiting 1.5 hours for it and the waiting yelling at us because he didn't put in the order. Wouldn't recommend. Really just an overrated tourist destination.

We waited over an hour for okay food. The tables around us ordered the same food but after us and were done by the time we got ours. They need more servers for the number of tables they have.
