Always friendly, always packed, and always delicious food. Tambosi always wins us over whenever we're in Bamberg. The restaurant is rustic and authentic, just the way we like it. There were two of us. My food arrived after 40 minutes, and my husband's after 60 minutes. Even the people who were seated at our table had to wait about 20 minutes longer for their food than his companion. The man was offered a complimentary drink for the delay, but my husband wasn't. I received one dumpling with my roast pork. I didn't find that odd until I saw that the man sitting at our table received two dumplings with the same dish. Considering that we ordered the same dish and therefore paid the same price, I find that rather outrageous. I'm used to struggling with food when I order a roast, but this was by far the smallest roast I've ever received in a restaurant. My husband had a farmer's schnitzel. The bacon was burnt, and the cheese was like rubber. We're pretty sure the cheese was microwaved; we can't explain its consistency any other way. I initially thought it was baked egg white or béchamel sauce because it looked so strange. He couldn't finish the schnitzel because the bacon tasted so awful. I've witnessed quite a few cooking disasters from my mother-in-law, but even she never managed to burn anything as badly as that bacon. It made my husband feel sick. At least the fries were good. And even McDonald's, packed with teenagers, isn't as loud as that place. That's truly remarkable. For the wait and the quality, the prices are a bit steep. There are far better restaurants in the area.

We spontaneously decided to visit for the first time today. For starters, we had a side salad and pumpkin soup, followed by schnitzel with fries and roast pork with dumplings, and warm cheesecake for dessert. The plates were beautifully presented, and all the dishes met our expectations. The cheesecake was especially delicious, even though we barely had room for it after the generous portions. The staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to find us a table, even without a reservation. We'll definitely stop by again next time we're in the city center.

The restaurant is very loud, the waitress didn't know that carp was on their menu, and the carp was partially raw and lacked fins. All in all, very disappointing, as I was looking forward to my first carp of the season. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant in this condition.

A rustic Franconian restaurant where you'll feel at home. Here, you'll always be greeted with open arms, and they'll do whatever's possible. The service is always friendly and courteous; they remain calm even during stressful periods and are thoroughly attentive. Both the owner and the staff are ambitious and up for good conversation – without neglecting their work. Simply a pleasant, relaxed, and friendly, feel-good atmosphere. A great deal of commitment and passion goes into every single area here. The same applies to the kitchen. You can tell that a lot of love goes into the preparation of every dish. And all at incredibly fair prices for the guest. I highly recommend everyone to eat here at least once!

Just had Sxhauferle, simply delicious!

As you'd expect from a Lower Bavarian, this is an inn with 80s charm. Simply good food at a good price. The portions are generous and the flavors are just right. Not overly generous, but the way you'd expect them, with a side salad and plenty of food so you don't go hungry. And the service is fast and polite. Everything's perfect for me. As the Bavarians say, a cozy restaurant with a cozy atmosphere.

Wanna eat and drink like a local? That’s the place to come. The food is awesome. Very well made food and very generous portions. The price is very reasonable. The bier? Take any Fässla. The crew is always amazing, very knowledgeable and flexible when taking your orders.

Simply walk through the restaurant into the beer garden. An oasis of peace right next to the central bus station, under shady old trees and with a newly laid wood-chip floor.

A no-nonsense inn, just like the old days. Recently under new management and with a young team. The food is truly excellent. Great value for money. The beer garden behind it is cozy and quiet. Great location in the city center, right next to the central bus station, for an enjoyable break. If you like beef liver, be sure to pre-order, as it often sells out by mid-afternoon. This dish can be called their specialty. Their other dishes are also highly recommended. Half portions are also available. The waiters are very attentive and polite. Great service. We just stopped by for a beer. Authentic German pub and beer garden. Service was a bit slow and the beer not the best, but overall it’s a fun spot and worth a visit.

Tambosi – a traditional and charming inn in the heart of Bamberg. It's been in business for a long time and is still worth a visit. The garden offers shady spots during the summer months, and the friendly and attentive staff quickly fulfills all your wishes. The menu is clear and has something for everyone. The price-performance ratio is definitely good. Various alcoholic drinks and beers from well-known local breweries are available. Once again, we didn't regret it and will continue to come. Keep up the good work. Great team and location.

We recently went to Tambosi with a very large group of about 30 people. Everything went perfectly. The food arrived very quickly and was delicious.

One of the last authentic restaurants with good food, large portions and friendly service

A very quaint restaurant with a large side room for presentations and a large screen. The food is extremely tasty, the meat was very tender, and the chops were pan-fried and beautifully presented. The staff were cheerful, extremely friendly, and very prompt, from taking our order to the entire service. The five stars we gave them are more than justified.

A rustic inn serving traditional Franconian cuisine. The selection is classic—Schäuferla (a kind of pork sausage), roasts, etc.—all freshly prepared and very well seasoned. The Schäuferla (a kind of pork sausage), in particular, was tender, with a crispy crust, a rich dark sauce, and a light dumpling. The side salad was also crisp and fresh and well presented. The portions are generous, and the value for money is good. The dining room is cozy, with lots of wood and historic charm. The service was attentive and friendly—just what you'd expect from a Franconian restaurant. If you're looking for hearty, home-style cooking in an authentic atmosphere, this is the place for you. I give it 5 stars.

Best Aperol in Bamberg. The sparkling wine is opened fresh because everyone else is just drinking beer. The service is fantastic, and the food is fantastic value for money. Honestly charming. 5/5 stars

Unfortunately, less than one star is not possible. We arrived at 4:50 p.m. We were waved through the restaurant, told "Only the beer garden is open today." There, we were yelled at, "Who's letting these people through? It's not even 5 p.m. yet." When we pointed out that we were waved through to the front and that it was only 10 minutes until then, the yelling continued. They apparently don't need customers there.

A little away from the tourist hustle and bustle, it's definitely a recommendation. Hopefully, the new tenant will keep it that way (closed for a week starting today for renovations).

We came here spontaneously because our hotel was nearby. Super nice service and the schnitzel and liver were a poem! The beer is also super tasty! The inn exudes the charm of the 80s, which I personally like! We would come back at any time. A big compliment to the kitchen and the service!!!!

Great quaint restaurant! Very tasty food! But what particularly stands out is the great atmosphere, it's exactly how I, as a non-Bavarian, imagine a Bavarian restaurant would be.

A beer hall and restaurant comparable to an Austrian pub. Good beer. The food is unfussy, simple, good, and, thanks to the generous French fries, extremely filling. On various days, we had beef liver, Wiener Schnitzel, celery schnitzel, and cheese spaetzle. All served with a bowl of side salad, priced between €15 and €19. Service was fast, but the wait for the food in the evening around 6:30 p.m. was about 25 minutes. Restrooms were clean.

A cozy restaurant with rustic furnishings that are somewhat reminiscent of a sports center. The Franconian cuisine is down-to-earth and delicious, the prices are fair and the portions are generous. Particularly positive: Here you get two dumplings with your meal - something that has become rare in many restaurants. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, which makes the visit even more pleasant. A clear recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy good Franconian food in a relaxed atmosphere!

We came in here looking for something to eat. The first impression is that time has stood still a bit, everything is dark and older. Toilets look like 1985. But the waiters and the kitchen blew all that away. It was very busy that day and yet there was always a waiter there for us. Kudos to both gentlemen! Fast service, always a cool saying and a huge portion. The two of us ate one dish. The beer is priced at under €4. Not available for less than €5 with us. Only recommended

Friday evening in Advent, 7:10 p.m.: “Do you want to eat something? The kitchen is already closed.” Too bad! The beer tastes good. In fact, some guests did get food; they had probably made reservations. It's twice as bad having to watch them eat hungry. 😟

Quaint inn with good, regional cuisine

Great restaurant right at the central bus station in Bamberg. The interior is rustically furnished and offers plenty of space. The highlight is the beautiful beer garden with lots of space and peace in the middle of the city. You can enjoy the food and the peace under trees that offer shade. At the end of the garden there is a small sandpit and playground for the kids. The staff is very friendly and helpful and cares about the physical well-being of the guests. The memory card doesn't just include regional dishes that are lovingly prepared by the kitchen and, above all, fresh. The portions are plentiful and tasty and therefore the price-performance ratio is more than justified! Personally, I will definitely stop there again when I'm in Bamberg!

We had dinner there today. The food was good. We accepted the recommended dishes from the daily special. My meatball wasn't cooked through, not a word of apology 😬 the full price was deducted. The service employee was nice.

Really rustic restaurant, down-to-earth atmosphere like an old inn in Austria. Both dishes we ordered tasted excellent. Warm food is available for lunch until 3 p.m. We were very satisfied, if we come to Bamberg again, we know where there is delicious food.

Ate there in the evening in a small group. Unfortunately, one meal was cold and another meal was clearly burnt. The waiting times were very long, and to pay we had to give a clear hand signal and let them know whether we weren't allowed to pay. Two conditions in the restaurant on the way, unfortunately very overwhelmed. The food was completely forgotten at the next table. There are always worse things but it wasn't a nice experience.

Da ich öfters in Bamberg bin, besuche ich dieses Lokal immer wieder. Das Essen ist sehr gut und vorwiegend fränkisch. Der Service ist aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich und das Lokal ist überwiegend von Einheimischen besucht. Der übliche Touristenrummel spielt sich hier nicht ab, was man auch an den fairen Preisen erkennt. Ich werde wieder kommen!

A real traditional restaurant. It was my father's favorite bar when he was in Bamberg. Whether meat or fish, everything is really delicious. From Schäufala to Char - great cuisine. The prices are really fair, the draft beer is good and the waiters are very nice. Cash only. If I want to eat Franconian food in Bamberg, it's always Tambosi!

Never again.. burnt pollack fillet almost like coal 🤮 Fries also stick hard.. you couldn't even pierce it with a fork.. Salad with no taste and lots of stalks. I tried to eat some of it, but it was impossible. The waiter actually saw it, but we still had to pay even though the plates were still almost full. Just tourists, bullshit... It's a shame, actually, because the staff was really very friendly and the restaurant was relatively well attended.

I felt like in the old days, my schnitzel with fries and sauce was very tasty. The prices are still normal. The staff is very friendly and super helpful. But you have to order seats in advance so that the kitchen staff doesn't get into a tailspin. Try it out.

Unfortunately, very miserable service, the service ladies were very unfriendly because the cola was spoken to, the wheat was poured incorrectly, too much cola was eaten. Very tasty cutlets and roast pork, it couldn't be better. Here people still cook according to good bourgeois tradition and the waiters are on a first-name basis with their guests, who are still seen as family here... Guys, where have our restaurants like that come from, where people still cook like that and run their restaurant with passion? 😉👌🏻We'll definitely be back... thank you very much. Addendum from June 17, 2024: There again today with the whole family. The Schäuferla is a dream... you can't do it better. My wife's baked liver and my daughter's and grandson's roast pork were also so tasty, absolutely great. And to top it off, a cyclist for two... in 2 glasses... YOU ARE SIMPLY THE POWERFUL PEOPLE... 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻😂

In fact it was very very tasty, had cheese spaetzle, baked cutlet and the pan schnitzel.. Cheese spaetzle was really one of the best I've ever eaten... and the potato salad with the cutlet was not only homemade but extremely delicious Definitely a recommendation

Update: Always happy. Good service, good food, unique ambience which stands out among all the chic restaurants and simply has to be appreciated. The little garden oasis in the middle of the city is also very nice and the veggie option was the mushroom cream spaetzle.
